Netflix's Atlas is such a good movie. I don't like Jennifer Lopez's acting 90% of the time but God this movie is like Pacific Rim for robotfuckers and she did so good. I love the development of Atlas and Smith's relationship through their time fighting Harlan. I love that the bond and building trust is as slow burn as can be given that they only have 22 hours to complete the mission. I love how Smith's sense of humor and use of curse words develops based on Atlas' while Atlas, the human, becomes more open and affectionate the longer she spends with Smith, the mecha. AND THE ENDING FUCKING DESTROYED ME.

Actually, I think visual sci-fi will be saved by the B-list Netflix Original sci-fi movies.

Thought I would give this movie a chance.
It's clichéd and a bit OTT... but I fully enjoyed it.

I used to love fluffy shows/anime that had what I call ‘MC goes on a journey, on which they find friendship, love and lasting connection, and have wholesome character maturity/development through trials and tribulations and joyful moments AND NOBODY DIES’™️
But now that just feels so unrealistic so I’m starting to lean towards what I call the ‘mc gets gifted a world-opening perspective through a newfound true love, too soon plagued by the inconceivable loss of that true love’™️ shows
Like,
Teach me a lesson and have this beautiful source or person show me this world is bigger than what I knew—
And then take the source away!!
I love it.

i did enjoy netflix's moxie Atlas a great deal. Im by no means a critic or whatever, and whenever I watch smth for the first time, most of the glaring issues or difficulties usually slip past my notice because im emotionally invested. these issues cannot slip by if im not emotionally engaged with the characters and their relationships with one another. as such i understand there are many problems i personally did not pick up on until they were pointed out to me, but i still had a great time with the movie. it made me laugh, and more importantly, it made me feel and even cry at the end, and thats what matters most to me.
overall its not a perfect movie. but in entertainment value, for me, it came pretty damn close.
8/10

Jennifer Lopez is Badass in Sci-Fi Action Adventure Atlas
AI is here to stay whether we like it or not, but is she to be trusted when we need her the most. https://wp.me/p2v8yf-6rO #atlas #netflix #podcast
AI (artificial intelligence) in the cinematic landscape has evolved exponentially over the decades.  Who doesn’t rely on Siri or Alexa daily for a multitude of tasks.  In 2024, the subject of AI has ranged from a SAG strike talking point to film like The Wild Robot (being released later this year from Dreamworks) to the latest Netflix feature starring Jennifer Lopez. Atlas Shepherd (Lopez), is…

Jennifer Lopez and Emmy award and Academy Award nominated actor Sterling K. Brown star in the Netflix action thriller Atlas. An AI soldier in a desolate future concludes that eradicating humanity is the only way to bring about peace. However, Brown assures that this isn't your typical science fiction movie. He spoke about special fusion of mystery and action that would enthrall viewers.
Atlas premieres May 24th only on Netflix.
