i am asking about your ocs
give me a yap about one of your favorites >:3
you asked this in the middle of me trying to edit HT so i hope you know what you've done >.>
so um. my favorite is probably Mewla Asetari but i don't think the world is ready for the Mewla yap yet
"squiggleyapper, tell me about your favorite oc" "you couldn't handle my favorite oc, mutual. my favorite oc is fit for book, let alone a blogpost. you better go to a yapper who cooks normaler characters"
taunting aside, the problem with mewla is that she's such a damn complex girlboss queenfailure. to understand her, you need to know about the noble clan of asetari (importantly, her mother uvema, and to understand her you need to cover the second grand trial at least) as well as how their bloodline abilities works (which has at least three separate mechanics), and you need to understand the deal with the unbrood black ops, and as well as the context of the third grand trial
and even that's skipping over all the background needed to understand black nerve in the first place, which at this point is an intimidatingly complex setting to get into. and if you think any of that sounds interesting, i haven't even mentioned how her husband was a failed prophet or how she split in two then repeatedly cheated death to master the impossible art of intangibility, or the mundane stuff like her anti-fascist terrorism arc
...honestly, maybe it's me who's not ready to write about mewla :s
instead, i think i’ll try someone simpler first. (this is not me tempting fate, do not curl O monkey’s paw).
i’m gonna tell you about Prince Lucien Aetheart. i figure you’ll appreciate this, because he’s from the cometverse like Knight-Commander Novus and Vela, whose fight i yapped about all those months ago
so, Prince Lucien. he’s an aethling, one born of noble blood in the kingdom of Extola. but let's a put a read more here for the people scrolling past this
now, the line of royal succession is a curious thing in this kingdom. you see, a thousand years ago, comets fell to earth. comets are eldritch horrors. they’re kaiju, natural disasters, CR 20 monsters. they’re unnatural. just being around them causes some Color Out of Space type shit.
as you can image, the cometfall invasion was an apocalypse for humanity. in the midst of that war for existence, there was a minor lord who would later rename himself Cyrex. he fought (survived, rather) the worst of the cometfall. Cyrex was an enchanter of mediocre skill, and he should have died like thousands of his betters.
but Cyrex had a wife: Uluna, a descendant of the moonsingers from a distant isle. she awakened a innate enchantment seemingly purpose-built for fighting comets. so Uluna became the hero of humanity, banishing the comets with moonsong
and Cyrex capitalized on his position as the husband (owner, almost) of the Uluna. he declared himself a king, and waged war through the post-apocalyptic medieval wasteland until his kingdom encompassed Extola.
with access to the greatest enchanters of a whole continent, and with all the worshipful gratitude directed toward Uluna, the king and queen were blessed with the finest boons of lifecanting there was.
but Cyrex had seen the worst of the cometfall. not only did he cling to life, he needed to become more, push beyond the limits of humanity until he might bear to think of a comet without trembling.
and, to make this long tangent short, he became more. so much more.
you see, the king of extola cannot die, and has ruled for over a thousand years.
thus, Lucien Aetheart was born his great, great, great (dozens omitted) grandson. he had the finest tutors — because refinement and sophistication is all a prince can aspire to. one of the first things taught to him is that, like some forty odd prince and princess before him, he will never sit on the throne.
Lucien’s parents died when he was six, and his aloof, dismissive tutors are the closest thing to family he grew up with. his parents died, and he would die, and what would any of it matter in the end?
he looks at the throne adorned with sanctified skulls, and decides no. he will be immortal, one day. he will be king. and if that means treason — well, subtlety and sophistication is what a prince can aspire to.
as a sidenote, i’ll briefly mention the Heirs of the Mother Void. this is a cult borne of the insight of Brother Lychon. Lychon was a cunning enchanter tragically cut down in his prime by his former best friend and burried in the ground. then he saw the light of the mother void, and rose again. “Death ain’t shit”, as he always says
you can understand why Lucien would be interested in a group — but lucien doesn’t, not at first. the heirs are secretive. in Book One of Aurora Moonrise, Lucien will be traveling the land in search of leads for the Heirs’ operations
this is how he crosses paths with the protagonist, a girl named Aurora. a few years younger than him, with no skill at enchanting worth speaking off — and yet she wields a masterwork crystal sword with perfect attunement. suffice it to say, Lucien’s interest is piqued.
throughout the second arc of the book, Lucien would training Aurora, as well as teaching the peasant girl noble manners. this puts him at odds with Morri, Aurora’s first friend, a girl born to a bandit with nothing but disdain for the nobility.
i wont recount what happens in detail, because this isn’t about them :p
but i will spill some ink discussing what the arc reveals about Lucien’s character. first of all, his personal enchantment is called ⸢Three Pledges Under Fire⸥
you see, he has an enchanted ring. with the hand wearing the ring (or any tool held in the hand, such as a weapon) whenever he touches something, he can ‘tag’ it.
he maintains a sense/awareness of all active tags.
these tags are otherwise undetectable and have no effect on the tagged object.
(in fact, tagging an object cannot have an effect — weapons will deal no damage)
each tag is one third of a spell. he must decide the spell when the tag is placed, and cannot change it later.
he can only have 3 tags at a time. if he already has 3 tags, he may choose one to revoke at will.
an object can only have one type of spell tag.
finally, the upshot of all of this. if he manages to place three tags on an object, he may snap his fingers and the spell takes place, exponentially more powerful, or with a dramatic new effect.
some examples of use: - he lands a sword swing against you — yet it’s oddly dull and light, as if you were simply hit with a big stick. then again nothing, and finally come the third, you think you have nothing to fear from his blade. then he snaps his fingers and your arm falls off - he throws himself out the way of your attack, falling to a crouch and tapping the ground. circling around, he overcommits to an attack, swinging downward till his hand touches the ground. you think nothing of it. and one last time, he taps the ground. still, nothing at all happens! you laugh and press the offense, swords clashing and sparking. when he maneuvers you over that spot, snaps his fingers, and the ground explodes beneath you - he’s trying these above strats, and others. he parries your sword and there’s a telltale glow of him placing a tag. what’s he planning to do with your sword? in between placing other, he taps the bracer on his arm. but you’re pressing the offense hard enough he can hardly afford the distraction. he fumbles, you get an opening, and he tries to block it with his arm (ha. it’ll hurt regardless) — and he snaps his finger, and his arm resists you as solidly as a brick wall
as you might gather, the intent for him is to be something of a hypertactical chessmaster.
he’s prideful, though. do you recall the infodump last time about gravitas loci and how powerful it’s supposed to be? surely something like that would be uncontroversial tool in everyone enchanter’s toolbox. lucien disagrees:
Gravitas isn’t the culmination of enchanting in the slightest; it’s a dead end, a distraction. It’s a terrible idea, through and through — you’re relying on something outside of yourself as the source of your power. Something completely callous and inhuman, on top of that. Do you think the earth cares about you? Its only will is for all things to fall. Do you know what happens to people who lose themselves in earth-resonance? We call them gemfiends.
so, what does Lucien think the real pursuit of enchanting is, then?
sorry advance for the chonky quote
Out in the gardens, Lucien walks with a rapier held out, gesturing as he lectures. “No doubt, you’ve come to understand that the bedrock of enchantment is will, the intent to use a tool with vigorous effort. The common enchanter will tell you the key to refining your will is understanding your tool, even going so far as to urge you to craft it yourself. After all, latent within the tool itself are those qualities an enchantment can amplify, or spells provoke. I cannot call them fools for this, but this parochial wisdom neglects what constitutes true, powerful enchanting.” Aurora frowns. “Will, intent, and focus. My teacher said all enchantment—” “I’m sure she was well-intentioned. But it’s common advice for a reason. You can sell foci. You can teach mere intent to anyone. But will? What is will?” “Great enchanters have great wills,” Aurora echoed lamely. “People speak of it as if it were innate, as if the masters were born with willpowers inscribed in their destiny. The reason no one instructs will is because at its core, improving the will is painfully introspective, and terribly philosophical. Your will is what drives you. When you swing your sword, it is not enough to want to swing it. It is not enough, even, to want to cut your opponent. Cutting your opponent down must be the culmination of the very essence of your being. The most powerful enchantment is woven with a will that would falter no sooner than your will to live itself would fail you.” “You have to give it your all,” Aurora summarizes. “But then, you’d never want to run from any fight, if your will never ever faltered.” “Power is knowing yourself. You must know why you fight, and pick only those battles you must fight. There is a untold strength in being unfaltering. Have you heard of the Ultima Canto, Aurora? It is the greatest spell an enchanter can ever weave. The distillation of their will into one absolute truth, so powerful even eldritch spirits cannot violate it. But there is no way to ever speak the Ultima Canto without knowing oneself. So tell me, Aurora, what do you stand for?”
another thing worth knowing about lucien is that, like all nobles, he is a lifecanter, capable of healing the sick. this drives some of Aurora’s initial interest in him; she wants to know about lifecanting because Aurora’s first teacher had a terminal case of fantasy mentor disease and died in the first arc bc they couldn’t cure her.
(it turns out lifecanting wouldn’t have been able to save her — the disease that killed the mentor was also anime mom disease what took Lucien’s own parents from him, even though they had all the riches in the land.)
anyway, after some climatic drama, Aurora and Morri run away one morning before the break of dawn, just ahead of a court ruling that they are wanted as accomplices to a spirit enthralling humans unlawfully.
in the process, though, the pair wind up killing a baron, and this is how they cross paths with Lucien.
King Cyrex (he insists the prince call him ‘father’) knows that Lucien was there with the baron was killed and let the girls get away with it. so the king tells him to fix his mess, and bring them to justice
by now, the dryad maiden Kheimon has bound Aurora with her vines, and she is en route for the capital — but Morri still remains at large. so Lucien sets out on horseback to track down this wannabe bandit
i don’t think i’ve laid the ground work to properly hype this fight up. Morri is a cute character, i think. sidekick/rival vibes, Aurora fights her in one of the early chapters, defeats her, realizes their both grieving dead parents, and so she asks her to join the party.
she spends the rest of the first arc terribly unsung; Aurora’s mentor dislikes and is suspicious of her, refusing to teach her anything. we get some hints that Morri has unrevealed depths to her — she has a strong affinity for communing with spirits, and knows a thing or two about brewing potions. also, she has a hunting dog familiar made out of tree bark. a timberwolf :3
(actually, have i mentioned she’s a wolfgirl? cuz that’s a thing. dog ears, fluffy tail, and claws)
but there’s something big i’m glossing over. why is aurora’s mentor suspicious of her? how is she so capable of communing with spirits? is killing one random baron really enough to get a warrior-prince sent to hunt you down?
who was Morri’s mother, anyway?
she was a witch, and she taught her daughter bloodcanting, a vile art considered a high crime by the crown — treason against human flesh.
you see, Morri uses blood sacrifice to commune with spirits and empower her attacks. she was sandbagging in her fight against Aurora, and after that she didn’t use much of her true power, at first first because Aurora’s mentor was always watching, and then once she came to care about Aurora, she didn’t want to offend her heroic sensibilities.
but now? Morri’s on her own, and Lucien really pisses her off.
so just this once, we see Morri go all out. using blood magic to tap into her canine nature, with magic claws and fangs and windswift speed.
it’s not enough to instantly win — Lucien has studied the blade all his life — but it’s close, and isn’t that embarassing? Lucien is a prince of the realm, and here was a lowborn bandit girl keeping pace with him.
a major reveal happens in this fight. remember how bloodcanting is treason against human flesh, but every noble is a lifecanter? what’s the difference between the two?
what’s the difference between Lucien and Morri?
Lucien says:
The difference? You’re right, it just comes down to wants in your veins, I suppose. I’m allowed to do anything, because I’m noble. You aren’t, because you’re nothing.
there’s character development for morri here too, but again, this isn’t about her. without that, it does make the conclusion to this fight feel a bit on the nose, but hey, i’m just yapping here
Morri goes:
Remember what you told Aurora, about will? Who do you think has the stronger will, between the two of us? To me, mister prince, you are everything I despise. But to you? I’m nothing.
all of this serves to give Lucien his first major character development. on the verge of being killed by a demihuman and witch, he awakens.
with rapier-blade he slashes a circle in the ground and expands it. truly, he’s been reduced to chosing one embarrassment or the other — or was it an embarassment? what foolish pride it was to think he could ever achieve power without relying on anyone else.
after all, what’s a king without a kingdom?
with that thought, Lucien casts his Gravitas Loci for the first time.
…and he still doesn’t capture or kill Morri ;p
she escapes — she’s forced to run away — so at least he spares himself the embarassment of being bested by her.
Lucien drops from the narrative mainstage after that; this is Aurora’s story, after all. the climax of book one happens, and then there’s extended epilogue chapters showing what happens to various characters.
namely, it’s revealed that, after failing to capture Morri, the disappointed king strips the prince of honors and sends him down to fight on the frontlines fo the ongoing war to colonize the southern continent, Tinen.
thus kickstarting Lucien’s pov arc, “Salvation by Fire”. now, the notes i have for this section don’t hold up (originally, he was going to be placed under the command of Novus, but what happens here doesn’t line up with Novus’s later characterization, specifically his refusal to use ⸢Meteor Heart Explosion Pulse⸥ until Vela forces him too.)
but i should probably get on with what happens this arc
some hardass commander (not Novus) is trying to whip Lucien into shape, and failing. the prince has been sent to lead a squad of rookies to wet their feet attacking an enemy site. they venture into a forest; Lucien is scouting out ahead while others from his squad makes camp.
in the woods, Lucien encounters a girl younger than him. the girl spots him, and runs away scared, hiding a nearby bush. one of his soldiers, also scouting, comes to him, asking if Lucien saw anything. he thinks, and choses to say he saw nothing.
Lucien keeps scouting till he finds the enemy site his superior told him to raid. except he looks closer, and realizes it’s not a military base at all — it’s just a village. it’s just civilians.
he returns to camp and tells his squad he had no luck finding the base. while he’s keeping watch, he’s almost nodding off, but catches movement — it’s the girl, so desperately hungry she’s willing to raid a soldier’s camp for food.
Lucien’s confused. don’t they have farmland or whatever peasants do?
they did. then the extolan bastards burnt and salted it all.
luciens feeds the girl and tells her to be careful out there.
she laughs. there’s no way to be careful with extolan soldiers this close.
anyway, lucien returns to his superiors claiming he completely failed the mission assigned to him. the disappointment and discipline that results is obvious. worse, he soon overhears a crystal ball conversation between the commander and the king. king straight up doesnt care if Lucien lives or dies at this point. if he keeps being more trouble than he’s worth, just kill him lol.
as you can imagine, instead of sleeping that night the prince just stares into space, gripped with despair. his life’s forfeit. ‘immortal one day?’ ‘king one day?’ what a joke.
it’s his turn for night watch before he gets a lick of sleep. an hour or two in, he smells the acrid stench of smoke. the forest is on fire. he makes no effort to warn anyone to evacuate. what would be the point? what does any of this matter?
maybe it’s the sleep deprivation, maybe it’s the callous disregard of his “father” upseting him more then he realizes, but Lucien sees the distantly approach flames coming to consume the forest, and envies it. envy for the flames, or for the forest?
either way, he approaches. skin-slicking heat, suffocating smoke, but he marches through it.
(if he dies here, what does it matter?)
a chapter would end there, followed by pov of the the girl. recounting how she had overheard lucien lying to his squad about her and helping her, intercut with impassionated rants about how much her life sucks and it’s the fault of the evil kingdom. after Lucien tells her to be careful, she instead keeps poking around — there’s almost nothing left in her village to go back to.
like that, she gets captured by soldiers. taken to a secret tent far from the main camp, and interrogated with spilled blood and screams. she contemplates whether starving in the dirt would be better than this.
and then the commander enters the tent. the ignorant girl was no use to their information-gathering efforts — but the girl will give them information. in the form of experimental data. you see, in secret the commander’s been working to achieve something big
as the commander takes a knife and inscribes runes deep into the girl’s flesh, he makes small talk. rants, rather. one of the things that particularly vexes him as of late is the prince. the sheer lack of ambition in that boy is an insult. content to be a pampered prince, unwilling to put in the work to achieve true greatness. he can’t imagine living life in the shadow of giants and not trying to shine larger
which brings us to why this guy is vivisecting this girl. as you can imagine, he’s stuck in a shadow of his own — Knight-Commander Novus is the metric by which all commanders are found wanting. this is its own insult. the spell that made Novus so great is one that man refuses to ever cast again.
thus, the commander has been attempting to replicate what Novus was afraid of — ⸢Meteor Heart Explosion Pulse⸥. he’s going to turn her into a enchanted object.
the commander knows Novus’s spell is one that somehow uses lifeforce to fuel an explosion, but the details elude him. by the time he finishes carving, it’s all quiet; he’s run low on rants, and she’s run low on screams.
now, all that’s left is for the soldiers to plant his new bomb near the enemy base, detonate and watch the lightshoq. he regard the girl with smile. “thank you, dear. this might be the most help any of you people have ever been. you’ll go down in history for this.”
and in that moment, with those words and that smug smile, all of the hatred for Extola comes rushing back in a maelstorm. and then…
it’s incorrect to say that this commander turned her into an enchanted object — life itself is spell, and every beat of the heart enchants the flesh and every breathe in a incantation. sure, it was the commander’s enchantment now carved onto her body — but it was her body.
fear shines bright in his eyes now — not fear, fire. the spell had activated, under her will, and blazes out in a deadly wreathe of flames now. his flesh is first so much sweat and then so much bubbling fat. he’d run low on rants, but he still had plenty of screams left.
and although the girl had no screams left, she had plenty to rant about. every indignity forced upon her people. every brag and whinge the commander spoke now twisted againsts him. every insult he had for Lucien, and yet that boy might be the most help any of you bastards has ever been. “you wouldn’t have less of a heart if i ripped it out of your chest.”
hatred crackles around the girl, and power newly awakened and surging. she’s cackling mania, and she hardly notices that her tormentors had become piles of ash. years starving, helping, clawing at the dirt, and now she can feast on all the raw energy of conflagration.
the forest goes up in flames — and in the end, she becomes exactly what the commander hoped to create.
her village lay in that forest. as she becomes an elemental of ever-spiraling flame, she can’t stop burning any more than you could stop shivering in the cold.
she’s all intuition and knee-jerk associations of thought. so when her village erupts, when everyone she knows and loves is a chorus of screams, she thinks of the soldiers she’d burnt to a crisp and how they screamed.
ultimately, she’s but crackling hatred and exhilerating power. the maddening part of becoming a weapon to destroy her people is that it’s so fucking satisfying.
and then so much of the forest is alight that there’s so little left to feast upon. she’s peaked and coming down. she’s hatred — not crackling but crumbling like wood ashes in horror of what she’s done: self-hatred.
and then that boy is standing there, staring into her flames, into her.
if she could immolate her own flesh and blood, she could certainly burn another extolan bastard who’s sole virtue was not being the literal worst.
except her family screamed and fled like her tormenters. Lucien doesn’t scream nor move.
he stares, and his visage of despair looks so much like the expression on that face she once had
the girl-turned-elemental burns herself out, and at length, she discovers that she does, in fact, still have a body: a skeleton disfigured by runes and caked in ash. she’s not human, anymore, but nor is she a fiend. she’s something known in theory and legend.
comet spirits were the light of stars caged in ice. nature spirits were the light of one sun sprouted from air. (elusive weather spirits were but nature spirits with monk-like abnegation)
a wildfire spirit is the light of lives lost to the pyre.
(the first life, of course, being her own)
Lucien had lost everything; his king forsook him, his squad is dead, and soon he’ll be too, if he reports back admitting he let this all happen. when the wildfire spirit speaks to him, tells him who she was and what was done to them with a numb voice, he’s outrage.
in that moment, his despair wanes, eclipsed by an emotion he’d never felt before, and never this strongly. once again, the wildfire is pained to see his visage mirror her own; he hates.
but he won’t hate face down in the dirt. the general thought he lacked ambition? no, he had a goal.
he looks back at the wildfire spirit, and holds out his hand.
“let’s burn that kingdom to the fucking ground.”
so, after all that payoff, i’ll end with more teasing.
remember how i said i wanted to talk about Lucien Aetheart? yeah, i lied. i actually wanted to talk about Myrka of the Mother Void, but, when i’m 4k words in and this isn’t even what i planned to do today, i think i can be excused. before getting from here to Myrka, we’d need to talk about Lilianna and Kheimon and Erato.
if it makes for a better defense, there’s also the fact that Book Two is a mess and needs a rewrite, or at least some kind of organization, and what ultimately happens to Lucien is deeply entangled with that plot.
if you read all that… wow, you really did want the yapping. thanks for bearing with me. sorry and/or you’re welcome
<3

I think about how there's like 3 specific types of power throughout space channel 5, not saying these are the only ones but I wanted to categorize them for fun!!
☆
First obvious one being Groove Moxie! (Or more specifically Dance Aura), I've only really seen or can recall both Purge and Ulala emitting Dance Auras. When everyone else dances, sure they have the moxie, but the aura? Nah, you only tend to see that with characters who are the ones leading or moreso harness the power of the Groove moxie all together of more than 1 person. Usually when against a strong Dance opponent or opponent(s). In the end, when you go up against someone who can handle Groove Moxie so well and naturally(?) That they emit Dance Aura, they're going to be an absolute challenge to overpower.
☆
Then you've got instrumentalists! Such as Pine and Pudding, these two are seen usually playing an instrument when you go up against them, you'd better hope that you're better at them enough with playing an instrument to win the battle, because these types are stubborn and persistent and won't back down until you overpower them through the skill of music. Their instrument is another way of expressing and enforcing their resolve!
But OP Ulala also plays an instrument! Actually, TWO! she plays both guitar and piano!
Yes you're right, and it raises questions why I wouldn't categorize Ulala under instrumentalists as well. Here's the thing, regardless of what I categorize, anybody can be these 3 things, with enough practice and passion! However, I truly believe that in the space channel 5 universe and story, of all 3, one of them is bound to be the MAIN or NATURAL calling to a person's life (or destiny). For ulala, it's clear as day her natural calling is dance Moxie/aura!
I'm very aware that pudding was pretending to play the guitar, but honestly? Why not think or headcanon that she eventually did take lessons to play guitar and improve, solely because she's still hellbent in beating ulala at SOMETHING!
☆
And last but not least, Originally I wouldve called this "Song Power" cause of the wiki n story but seeing how fancy dancing and playing instruments is called (or titled by me) like Dance "Moxie" or "Aura", I wanted to give it a little more
✨️Pizzazz✨️ (sparkle sparkle)
So 3rd category is Song Vigor!! This is where vocalists (or singers) use their voice and singing as a form of power and expression!! Whenever they sing they emit waves, each of them, I'd like to express in my art as different. Each type's waves being individual and symbolizing the soul and passion of the singer! whether it being unwavering and impactful like space Michael's voice, inspiring and influential like President Peace's voice or just odd noises that are crucial for some weird reason such as Hoorg's, all three leave fundamental messages or just simply comes in handy when it needs to be. People with Song Vigor have a lot of enthusiasm and passion behind their singing, and if you think you can overpower them, you best prove it with your heart and soul,
Or else it won't save you in the end when your plans start to fail and fall apart.
#space channel 5#space channel 5 part 2#sc5#Ulala#Pudding#Pine#Space Michael#Hoorg#President Peace#Purge#Where does jaguar fit under all of this?#man idek im sleep deprived#but enjoy!#:)#oops

inspired by a 'selfshiptember' post by @strawberry--bat this year I have decided to do a 'jojo-centric' self-ship / oc x canon related event as well for the month of September. It's my first time doing this sort of thing so I hope y'all will participate! There's no need to tag your posts if you don't want to, but, if you'd like to feel free to tag it as #JJLNSSS. There is no obligation to post every day! Just thought it might be a fun little thing to allow yourselves to indulge in your ships. While this is jojo-centric, those from other fandoms can also join in as well of course! Have fun! ♡
**Note: This is my first time doing something like this. As a writer myself, most of these prompts are more like 'questions' really but any could also be answered with art if you prefer that way too. There isn't a 'right' way to respond... the goal is just to celebrate ships in the community and to encourage engagement and positivity.
JJLN: SSS PROMPTS:
01. Have your SI / OC introduce themselves. 02. How would your F/O introduce your SI / OC? 03. What does your f/o's friends / family think of your relationship? 04. Favorite AU? 05. How does your SI/ OC influence your F/O's canon story? 06. What does your F/O love most about you / your OC? 07. What do you love most about your F/O? 08. Tag a mutual (or a few) and compliment their ship. 09. Which mutual(s) would you want to go on a group date with and what would you do? 10. How does your F/O's stand express their affection to you? If your OC/SI doesn't have a stand let's assume they can at least see/feel their loved ones stand. 11. How would Araki describe your OC / SI in his author notes? 12. What is the perfect date for you and your F/O? 13. Write a love letter to your F/O. 14. What do your family / friends think about your F/O? 15. Describe your first date together. 16. Was it love at first sight or did it take some time? 17. Gush about your F/O - anything that's on your mind. :) 18. What would your F/O be as a hero, alternatively what would they be like if they were the villain? 19. If your SI/OC and F/O were in a different Jojo part which part would you want them to be like? What would they be like? 20. Tag a mutual (or a few) and compliment their ship. 21. What is your favorite season? Is it also your F/O's favorite as well? What do you usually do during that season? 22. If your F/O described you as a kind of animal, what would they describe you as and why? 23. Tag a mutual (or a few) and compliment their ship. 24. Is there a favorite article of clothing of your F/O's that you like to wear / cuddle with? Is there a favorite article of clothing of yours that they like to wear/cuddle? 25. Have your F/O write a love letter to you/your OC. 26. Are you the type of couple to play co-op or do you play games against each other? If you really aren't into videogames - consider this question in terms of other games that could be challenges whether it's board games or sports. 27. Does your ship have a 'ship name' or do you usually just write it as OC/SI x character? 28. What trope(s) does your ship fall under? 29. Are there any other characters your F/O and OC are close to? Can be canon or other OCs. 30. Say something kind about the self-ship community.

About this blog (pinned post)
I’m Orion Scribner (they/them). I'm a grown-up. I blog about my art and writing, most of which is about therianthropes, otherkin and other alterhumans. I've been in those communities for more than ten years. Many of my creations are nonfiction about them. For example, I make the comic Theri There, the community history book Otherkin Timeline, and more. Academic articles cite both of those. Alright, update on the tablet situation, I do NOT have good news but there are some silver linings.
First off, thank you all so much for your patience. That one week I took off to relax seemed to be an invitation for the universe to fuck with my shit because my tablet literally chose the worst time to get on my nerves ( This is totally not something I'm gonna bring up with my therapist as proof that I'm not allowed to rest /s) I've tried just about everything to get it working again, I got a replacement 3-in-1 cable and even that didn't do anything, so I've ordered in a new pen, but that's not due to show up for another week or two.
However, I do not want to wait a week or two on the off chance that a new pen even solves the problem.
So the GOOD NEWS in all this is that I do still have my iPad. It wasn't setup with Clip Studio Paint because I own a perpetual license for my PC, but seeing as how now I can't use it on my PC (at least not with my tablet pen) I've gone ahead and setup the mobile version on my tablet, thankfully I got a discount because I already own a perpetual license but it's still gonna cost me $10/month so that's yet another subscription to slap on the 'ole credit card.
Now that does mean I have to go through the painstaking efforts of moving everything from my PC onto my tablet, but thankfully that issue is easily solved with cloud backups and transferring. Really all I need to be able to do is draw, I can still do speech bubbles and text input and texture overlays and all that post-production stuff on my PC, but anything that requires actual drawing I'm gonna be using my iPad for. So please, don't mind if you notice some weird little art differences between Episode 30 and 29, I'm adjusting to a new workflow! It shouldn't be too bad because I'll still be using the exact same brushes and textures and all that fun stuff that I do on my PC, it just comes with the adjustment of drawing primarily on iPad, which I don't normally do (I usually only draw on my iPad for tattooing and that's in Procreate which I still suck at using outside of lineart LMAO)
This is a very stressful situation that I'm hoping will only be temporary until I get that new tablet pen, and if THAT doesn't solve the issue, then I'm gonna have to start shopping for a new tablet entirely, and that's not something I can do immediately because I'm already starting to struggle financially due to the slow season creeping in at work and I'm still paying off that new PC I put down on layaway (which I'm regretting already). All that said, if you want to help a pal out, please consider tossing a dollar or two at me on my Ko-Fi, it's all gonna go towards a new drawing tablet if I need it (and if the pen solves the issue, then you'll be helping me stay afloat so I can keep bringing you guys the good shit LOL)
What's wild is that in all my Google searching, I found a thread from two months ago with literally the EXACT same issue, under the exact same conditions, in which OP's tablet pen unexpectedly stopped registering with their Huion Kamvas 22 Plus that they had owned for two years. According to them, it did start working again, after resetting the PC and re-installing the driver over and over again, but I've already done that myself a ton of times and I'm tired of being let down and that doesn't seem like a "real" solution beyond luck, so I'm gonna take a break from doing that while I get my iPad set up. I have the sneaking suspicion this might have to do with some recent Windows updates that just rolled out, my PC had definitely gone through a couple leading up to the malfunction. This wouldn't be the first time Microsoft has fucked with my tablet functionality so I literally wouldn't be surprised if it was something like that. Either that, or the '2' in Kamvas 22 stands for "will only last for 2 years before stopping entirely" LOL
Anyways, that's all for now. Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding through all this. While I don't want to have to reduce the quality or frequency of what I put out for you guys due to technical issues, I also don't want the comic to stop entirely, so if this turns into one of those desperate situations where I'm delivering you guys episodes of Rekindled drawn on a Nintendo DS, so be it. I'm not gonna let this beat me.

[personal opinions about dunmesh op 1 vs op 2 visuals, mild namedrop spoilers below]
tbh while i liked the first dunmesh op’s song a lot, the visuals REALLY didn’t do it for me in terms of establishing tone, character, overall plot or vibes of the story…
almost half of it is static or minimally animated images, and the first section of the giant characters standing stoically with eyes closed in various landscapes does very little to convey anything meaningful about them as individuals or their role in the story. like, i could see that imagery for a more low-key ED, and i think it would work really well. (i'd never replace Ryoko Kui's art from the EDs, but in a different universe where they had a more standard animated approach.)
but for the first op, that’s supposed to set the tone and hook you on the world & characters….ehhh. especially since Kabru, Namari, and Shuro/Toshiro are featured equally to the main party, but Kabru and Namari get very little screentime in the first cour, and Toshiro gets even less and is barely even mentioned. meanwhile, there's only one food/cooking-related shot right at the end. the biggest focus of the first arc is barely present in the op.
they spend a huge amount of time just kinda teasing characters that won’t be properly featured or introduced for a while yet—shots of the Canaries, Toshiro's party('s legs), Thistle, the Winged Lion, are all exciting to see *as a manga reader*, but they feel out of place for the first op. the first arc primarily focuses on our main party and their interactions with the dungeon itself and the monsters within it, and, you know, cooking.
the main party's personalities, monsters, and food. those 3 things were either severely underrepresented or completely absent from the op 1 visuals, and i really felt their absence more and more as time went on.
2nd op on the other hand......love love love. WAY better representation of the characters and what the show is actually about! there's so much more humor and personality, it showcases the camaraderie of the main party, it flips back and forth between the party hunting/gathering ingredients to cook and BECOMING ingredients that are getting cooked, there are so many more monster designs and interactions, it still manages to show off upcoming characters and designs without detracting from the overall feel or focus.....it's EXACTLY what i was hoping for from the op switch so i'm absolutely thrilled!!
i like the new song, but i have less to say about it specifically, other than the visuals being timed to it really nicely. i could be wrong but i feel like people who are "meh" about the new op maybe just care about the music part, or at least weigh it more heavily, whereas i'm somewhat the opposite. it's hard for me to imagine someone comparing just based on the visuals and thinking that this:
somehow matches the tone and vibe of the show better than this:
but, people have different perspectives on things, so there probably ARE people who genuinely prefer the more solemn and mysterious atmosphere of op 1 visuals to the more “cutesy” op 2, even if i personally think they feel out of place for arc 1.
to be clear, none of this is to say the visuals are *bad*--i have the stitched image of Laios (& co) and Falin (& co) reaching towards each other as my phone background--just that i felt like they emphasized the wrong things for this first arc, and were maybe better suited to an ed.
i'm really, really happy that op 2 completely fixed every "issue" that i had with the first one!
#maybe there's something to be said for op 1 being understated in a way that lets you discover the world and characters#through the storytelling first? but idk. even in that case i think they just over-focused on showing characters too much.#i LOVE dm's character designs but the first arc is mostly Not About Them.#mypost#uhhh.....idk if i want this to show up in the main tag. but it will if i tag it for organization purposes.#even if i try to push it towards the back.#apparently the 'only the first 5 tags' count thing doesn't apply anymore#bc i check the dunmesh tag all the time and stuff shows up there if the full title is mentioned ANYWHERE in the post text#i should probably tag#dungeon meshi spoilers#for a couple vague-ish things anyway.#dungeon meshi#dm manga spoilers#oh well i'm organization tagging anyway.

So... i know no one wondered this but... (my thoughts on the Direct yesterday)
So me and my sister have jokingly been calling "Super Mario Bros. Wonder", "Super Mario Bros. Fever Dream". I mean... a lot of other people have been calling it wacky things, so why should i stop the trend? Also love that, Daisy and the others are playable, mainly Daisy because it's her first time being playable in a game like this without mods (I think).
The DLC for S/V looks SO COOL! Me & my sis were literally pointing out all the Pokemon we recognized the first time we saw it. I really hope we get to see the main 3 in the first half at least.
Super Mario RPG remake was one of the last things I expected but it was a nice piece of news either way! The art style is super cute and I want plushies of them just so i could squish them. I'm going to give it a try that's for sure!
Sonic Superstars, is a classic Sonic but it's unique that you can play as any of the main 4 and that local-4-player co-op is a thing. Though online would've been cooler, let's be honest
Persona 5 Tactica gives me Mario + Rabbids vibes but with Persona characters that also look both squishable and chibi. I honestly want to try this one too, for the vibes, and mainly because I haven't truly played a Persona Game and who knows? Story exists for a reason
I also didn't expect a Dark Moon Remake, but this is just Mario's year after the movie did as well as it did (1 Bil in the box office!), also really interested in the new Peach game. It kinda gives off the vibes of the OG Paper Mario, in the sense that it's a stage play (or at least looks like it). And I wonder what the little ribbon buddy is called. But I bet it'll die by the end (coughs in the last few Paper Marios).
DLC for Sparks of Hope looks interesting and pretty cool but I'm broke and still haven't finished the game so... yeah.
Pikmin 4, I was never really able to get Pikmin or get used to it, but the Glow Pikmin are like little ghost friends so that's cute.
In terms of the Splatfest, I'm going to join Team Vanilla and (unrelated but my sis's bday is the starting day of the fest).
Also Detective Pikachu, did not expect! But really cool either way, I may give it a shot considering I haven't tried one since I was a child. Also the way the other Pokemon are animated is really nice.
A new Warioware was something I didn't expect considering Warioware: Get It Together came out a little over a year ago, maybe even less. But cool for those of you planning to get it, as for me, idk.
I didn't expect the 3 characters (Petey Piranha, Wiggler and Kamek) but it is still great overall. Kamek also makes me remember that I haven't played Mario Kart: Tour in ages.
Star Ocean gives me both Puyo Puyo Tetris vibes and Genshin Impact which I LOVE and is slightly pained about. Literally putting salt in the wound of the fact that none of them are ever going to see each other aga- ANYWAYS! I really like the idea and am willing to give it a shot.
As for everything else pretty much, it still seems cool but not for me. Still waiting for Pokemon games on the Gameboys though, i'm sure i'm not the only one though.

good day/evening OP! got a question if you don’t mind! how long have you been drawing art? and what keeps you motivated to draw? do you also do commissions? and do you ever feel tired or exhausted staying in one fandom?
thanks for answering! take your time and you don’t have to answer these if you’re not comfortable ☺️
((btw anon here is in early 20’s just to be clear ^^))
Good evening/day, Anon! And thanks for clarifying your age, as it really does mean a lot 🙏💖
No problem at all to answer these! For drawing, traditionally, it’s ever since I got my hands on my first set of crayons as a babby.
1) If it’s digitally, I started doing more of that when I bought my first surface pro tablet with the remaining art scholarship money at 18-19 years old back in 2015, I believe! Medibang was a game changer because I felt it was a good starter drawing software when I couldn’t afford Paint Tool Sai at the time (I eventually bought a license for Clip Studio instead because of a friend’s recommendation lol).
2) What motivates me to draw? I have many reasons. First one to spite a kindergarten classmate who said my drawing of a Pokémon wasn’t good xD (don’t remember which). Second, to tell stories because I couldn’t write a cohesive plotline. Third, it’s the cheapest entertainment I got lol.
I remember I tried to adapt excepts from the novels I read into comic form and they were pretty fun. Especially when I was inspired by the 39 Clues fanart in the wiki page at the time.
I think if people online made them look fun, it makes me wanna join in too, and that makes me forget that my skills suck~ Which is very important in having the motivation to draw. When focusing on quality, or perfectionism , I tend to be very harsh towards myself, which what leads to my occasional art blocks.
3) Ay I do commissions, but currently closed atm! I still have two more to go and thus, I promise myself not to reopen until I get them done!
You can find the list in my Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/rttnpnkpmpkn/commissions
I may have to increase the prices a bit to account for inflation, which is disappointing but every penny counts in this trying times sorry! qwq
4) It depends! While I can enjoy a content for as long as I can before I move on to the next, the main deciding factor is whether to be involved in a community.
Every fandom I came across as a lurker always seem to follow a pattern, so I’m very reserved in joining new communities socially.
I came for the experience, so I gotta make the most out of it before I do leave to find my next hyper fixation. I’m drawing until I can find my “finale” if that makes sense ^^;
Peeps can come and go in a fandom, but inspo strikes when no one asks!
For the particular fandom I’m in, It’s definitely a mixed bag, but I’ll focus on the positives!
I have many things to be grateful for as they’re the ones who got me out of an art rut for the past year and so. I learn so many new skills and life lessons from them, where I couldn’t imagine it being any different if I didn’t meet them otherwise. I met the nicest peeps who made me forget I’m not too fond of group chats, and were very nice and supportive in their own way!
I’m returning the favor for the inspo they brought me as it’s the least I can do ^^
Also, I never truly leave a fandom, I just wander around as a lurker until I find a reason to come back again. I don’t really make an account dedicated to a specific fandom, because they don’t usually last long, so I tend to sample from other places to make the candle last longer. It wasn’t obvious mostly because I was more of a lurker then and an OC artist xD
I began drawing lots of fanarts mainly because peeps made drawing pr0n for a stickman fun 🤣
Hope that answers your question, and thank you for your time! 🙇💖

Good day!
I understand what you were trying to say since I have not yet elaborated on who is the owner of the screenshot you used in the original post! Yes, it is from a well-known R1999 VN page. I don’t think you should delete anything.
But the suspicious thing is that the page (the owner of the screenshot you used) posted Kakania’s skin analysis on Saturday, December 7 2024 at 08:27PM (Vietnam time), while my friend (Thợ Săn Xì Chây) that I mentioned being alleged plagiarized from, posted theirs on Tuesday, December 1st 2024 at 04:23PM (Vietname time).
While I agree that it could be a coincidence in how the page has the EXACT SAME analysis compare to my friend’s works, though the post seems highly traced from my friend’s analysis with a bonus of their own take on Kakania’s dagger though with much less details. It is ok to have the same exact ideas, but "borrowing ideas without crediting the every first person to point out" is an issue in my eye.
I would not have this much issues with the R1999 VN page, if they have AT LEAST acknowledged my friend's works. Instead, they pretended like they were the only one putting out all of the works!
More than that, the R1999 VN page's post has so many issues! Such as:
Incorrect professional psychological terms.
Google/Wiki's copy-paste definitions of psychoanalysis without any related knowledge, which could led to misconceptions and overall false information being spread! This is not a good way to approach psychology, since it needs much more knowledge to fact-checked and not mindlessly copy-paste, since psychology's nature is very complicated, thus not easy to digest for most viewers!).
(Since I can speak Vietnamese, the tracing is easier to noticed!!)
I believe you and other people deserve a better analysis on Kakania’s new skin and I myself would be happy to provide you a throughout translate of my friend, Thợ Săn Xì Chây’s post about Kakania and Salvador Dalí! They are a psychology college student and they pointed out how many errors and misconceptions in the page’s post about Kakania’s skin! We can make an individual post to compare my friend’s works and the page’s post to point out how many issues it has.
And in the same breath, we can offer our own professional views on many inspirations Kakania’s skin took from Salvador Dalí's works, which, fun fact, he was a HUGE Sigmund Freud’s fan.
More over, I do apologize for my tone since I do not blame you on anything, I am just pissed that you and many other Isoldkania's fans deserved a better deep-look into her new skins since it is PACKED to the brim with details and attentions, all tied to her as a character! I hope you have a great day, and if you or anyone need a more professional and educational analysis of Kakania's new skin, you just need to give me a call. Have a beautiful day! ^_^
P/s: My friend (Tho San Xi Chay) also made a post about which piece of music Kakania's skin cover art from web minigame has! And apparently, it is Symphony No.5 in C-minor, Op. 67 of Beethoven!
You can check out the post here!
as pointed out by an analysis from a vietnamese fan which i unfortunately don't have the link for atm (EDIT: link to the said vn post, another older vn post with cited references), kakania's garment actually has some references to surrealist art, specifically works by salvador dalí!
salvador dalí was apparently influenced by freud's theories, and the vienna storm syndrome resembled surrealistic art so this is a pretty clever design choice. (also, this means that while isolde's skin was music-themed, kakania's is more art/paintings! fitting as they're from the city of art and music after all.)
this one should be familiar, it references "the persistence of memory" by salvador dalí
this one seems to be "the elephants" or "the temptation of saint anthony"
and this one looks like the figures in dalí's "woman with head of roses"
big fan of the designers' idea for this, the purple also adds to the magic? dreamlike? feel of the garment. it's hypnotizing in a way!
also this isn't related to dalí, but the vn fan also pointed out that the weapon kakania throws actually seems to be a letter opener?
i really like what they said about it so i'm just going to show it here

AU ASK GAME BUT I ANSWER THEM ALL WOOPS By @catsockpuppet
SPOILERS FOR THE COMIC DARK CARNIVALS BY THRUMPLES ON TUMBLR, COMICFURY, TWITTER AND INSTA
1. If it still exists, how does the cult work in your AU? Who is the leader?
Not really a cult, due to the au being based off of an indie webcomic, I kinda have to follow the world rules. They're all demons to say the least. They kidnap people to possess and parade in the circus and then kill them when they're too weak to not leave witnesses.
2. Who’s your favorite character in this AU?
Definitely Suzie and Ross! Suzie the poor girl just wanted her parents back...and Ross ouughhh he snapped man. Imagine getting possesed, one of your friends are dead and you think the other two are too. You're a kid with a demon controlling your body. Jeez.
3. Cant quite find a third? Maybe it was a counting mistake on OPs part^^
-
4. If it still exists, how does the Eyes Of The Universe work in your AU?
It doesn't exist , but I guess it would take the place of The Serpent aka The Devil of that universe.
5. What was your inspiration for this AU?
The comic by thrumples! Please go give it a read:
6. How would canon Skid and Pump react to their AU versions?
Skid would be confused as to why he's a cat lmfao. Pump would like his cat self tho! He's more of a Lykoi.
7. What character have you changed the most?
Skiddad/Sapphire in this au. He isnt bad he just got kidnapped into all this. But he's really rude and... plotting something.
8. What characters haven’t died in your AU? How did they survive?
None haven't died woops.
9. What characters have died in your AU that didn’t die in canon? How did they die?
SUZIE NO MY GIRLY!!!! After recognizing her parents performing in the circus she leaves the others to go and find them . They were gonna use Suzie as a vessel but accidentally killed her. And thus the PANIC BEGINS!!!! oh and Suzie and Pumps mom/Jasmine! She committed to free herself from possession in front of the hatz.... And Ignacio who got killed cause John stabbed him (More like the demon possessing him) they managed to exorcise the demon but Iggy is dead lol
10. Has anyone changed professions in your AU?
The officers are also part time demon hunters. Roy and Robert became demon hunters and Radford and Kevin help with all that.
11. Has the Candy Club changed at all? And if the Candy Club no longer exists, what is serving it’s role?
Candy club hasn't changed! Though there are many missing posters. And it's more dusty since Streber was also kidnapped and possesed so since he was Kevin's bff Kevin isn't .. doing good.
12. Who has suffered the most in your AU?
Ross definitely. This kid went through so much shit for sure.
13. Who’s the happiest character in your AU?
I can't say happy more like unaware. Skid and Pump left the carnival before the incidents. Pump still has hope his sis will come back...poor kid.
14. Do you have a least favorite character in your AU (as in, what character’s actions do you dislike the most)?
Not a least favorite character but one I don't really give a shit about is Pumps dad/Phillip. He's just a widower.
15. Has the setting changed? Where is this new setting?
A carnival! Run by demons...
16. Would you accept OC’s for your AU?
Yeah!
17. Would you accept fanfiction of your AU?
Yeah just make sure to read the actual comic first to follow the lore rules of the original source.
18. Would you accept ships for your AU?
Yeah! Nothing problematic tho.
19. Are there canon ships in your AU (that aren’t canon to regular Spooky Month)?
RossxRobert is implied. Theyve never said it tho. Yet ...
20. Favorite art piece (made by you or someone else) of the AU?
These two! Ouuughhh Acroross...
21. Have you ever written anything for the AU?
Yeah! Scroll down and you'll see it all!
22. If your AU was it’s own show, do you think it’d a happy or sad ending?
Can't say since...the comic this is based off of isn't done lmfao so I don't know
23. What character do you think you need to develop more in your AU?
Streber for sure.
24. Least favorite character in your AU lore-wise (like, do you think any specific character’s lore is weak? Do you dislike anyone’s story?)?
Not sure really lmfao

the thing is all you do about p3re is salt about it. I'm disappointed by a lot about p3re too but I don't go as far as you do and be a downer all the time. you've been accusing it as a p5 game with the p3 skin which i think is disingenuous, because they were giving p5-esque updates to a 2002 game, a game over 2 decades old
im just happy that you're not one of those people who are hoping that p3's ending would be changed.
there are people saying that the answer is a retcon to the p3 game because mc did not die in p3vanilla and the answer retconned that.
but anyways... im just sad that everytime you post about p3re its all just salt.
Kinda feeling bad for P5 atm, since I've been dragging that dead horse for much longer. TT0TT But I think you're right, even tho I don't talk about it as much, but I've been mostly dragging P3R......
I'm going to be honest........as they come out with stuff, I haven't found a whole lot to be happy about:
(addressing the P5 point here since it goes hand in hand The P5 comparison, and the one I have the most issues with are portions of the UI (I still never published that damn asks did I? shit damn it, well it's buried I'll have to get it at a different time). There's def gameplay features they've added (but more or less I expected them, and actual gameplay changes I'm.....a bit more lenient towards tbh, battle systems will evolve and I accept that). Plus there's the new SEES outfits which are.....very P5 coded....and a strange "we gotta add this!" type of change (aren't we "honoring P3"? why do they NEED a new outfit? Why can't we just have a costume called "PT costume" like the PT got a "Shadow OPs" costume?). THAT BEING SAID....I don't think I've brought up the P5 comparison since the SEES outfits tbh. At least...I thought I was more focused on P3R itself lately...... I should go back and compare it and see just how much influence of P5 I think is on there now that the initial shock has wore off. (that being said....I tried glancing through my blog and....I don't talk about P3R often on here ;w; It's like maybe 70%neg, 30% pos/neutral? I think the last big blow up was the lack of the concept art being on the train? I feel like I've been very passive and silent about the game for the most part....not even talking about a lot of the ad art/trailers/interviews I dunno I just don't find I'm interacting with it much so TT0TT I get I'm being salty but I think P5 deserves to say "maybe ease off a bit yeah?" than P3R atm? sorry if it's been overly salty for you tho anon 😔)
They removed my fav MC. I love P3MC don't get me wrong, but I prefer FeMC. That being said, I love seeing them as a packaged deal. The work off each other so well. I hate how Atlus treats her fans it SUCKS. And IF we are lucky, she might be DLC???? I'm pissed at Atlus' DLC practices already, but this is a kick in the teeth. ;w;
They removed the Answser and Metis. Do I think the Answer is perfect? No. Do I have some issues with it? Yeah. But I love Metis, and good and bad, it's a big part of P3's story. And us not getting that is......really bad imo. Plus the possibility of MORE DLC???
They removed key gameplay features. Tired mechanic and split up mechanic being the biggest two (possibly reversals? I'm not sure on that, I don't mind reversals or even a play on the jealousy mechanic, I just think it needs to be reworked TT0TT). Two mechanics I loved and wished were in P4/5 tbh..... so yeah a bit salty, I've always felt it was a key feature of P3.
Still fucking DLC (not just P3R's fault, but still not a plus...or should I say negative?). And then the costumes aren't as good? TT0TT Thank god for the in game ones. orz At least they aren't making me pay for THOSE. DX
I....am not a fan of the new models and lighting. Soejima got me into Persona (I prefer the 25th anni art styles over this P3Rs), it's not that it's shit I just have a preference..... The lighting however.... and I've always kinda like Vanilla/FES's lighting scheme. There's parts of P3 that I just really love (the ones where they have special lightening and the rainbow). And P3R's.....just hurts my eyes ngl. TT0TT It's flat or bloomed, and then the models will look plasticy, it's just an assault on my eyes orz
Music.....I think I'm the kindest to the music, esp when covering the legacy songs. I don't mind covers. As long as I get an option to play the OG (I like options) then I'm fine. Edit: LOL NEVER MIND APPARENTLY THAT'S NOT THE CASE???? TT0TT WTF ATLUS??? I have some mixing issues (or Azumi's cursive singing) but even tho I labeled it as "salt." It's more of a "minor complaint" compared to other stuff on the list if I'm honest (maybe it'll sound better on my TV who knows)
Still no definitive version. It's related to FeMC/Answer, but really.....the damn questionnaires always listed Vanilla/FES/P3P. I know the biggest argument for a P3 remake was a definitive version. We still don't have that! I've been wanting one since before P3P was released! I knew this would be an issue! TT0TT
Maybe my salt is a bit more apparent because.....I love the originals......I mean I do have issues with them (Yukari/Junpei my be-loatheds), nothing's perfect, everyone has gripes about something even if they love it (*motions to the P4 fandom*). But with the new voice cast/possible translation (and new events) I'm willing to give them a chance (again.....like I always do orz).
I def don't want P3's ending to change. That being said, I'm not gonna be surprised if it does. "This might as well fucking happen" is my mentality atm (at best it's confirmed P3R is a new timeline, which I can dig but......is it really so hard to have one definitive ver???? orz). TT0TT If atlus really wants to keep using P3MC in future games (or heaven forbid FemC to an extent!) they really should play into the multi timeline. Might not be the P3MC we know as the SEES leader, but it's still a variation of him. (this way we keep the OG message in tact, explore/expand the lore, and still get to see an old face without "time warping/travel dream sequence" for the 1000th time, love those but moving forward is also good too TT0TT).
The answer.....didn't..... retcon..... TT0TT Ahhhh this is why the made the Answer, because people were confused. orz C'mon Atlus bring back the Answer! You've been screwing it over both in anime/movie and the manga like c'monnnnnn!!!! ;w;
*inhales* All that being said. I'm just weary. I'm hoping the end product is going to be a lot better than than it looks atm (and that's why I'm going to give it a chance, the complaints I have are from the previews). P3R has been in the perpetual state of "we're so back/it's so over" for me TT0TT It's tiring. And I'm just trying to keep my expectations on the ground (I've already been kicked and then kicked while I'm down with FeMC/Metis, I'd rather stay down until I know it's safe to get back up ;w;)
But there's been a few things that have been......highlights.
Hermit seems to be the same with all the emojis and such (I don't think they are voiced which is both sad and fun, cause I like trying to act out the L33T speak myself)
I think Female SLs have had a strong/confirmed leak that they have a friend route (please! TT0TT god I've wanted this so much!)
While I didn't get the option of SLing my male teammates ;w; I am getting episodes (which is in the vein of that and other stuff I've wanted!) AND there might be some big stuff with Strega which is also something I wanted! (as afraid as I am for flanderization, at least we're getting this!)
More Aigis/MC good stuff (at least in full 3D)
Midori's tweets are unfortunately giving me SOME hope for FeMC/Answer DLC. (unfortunate because it's DLC and cause I dunno if me hoping is good for my health atm)
There's some new songs that I like (even with my minor complaints)
we're getting a BMG randomizer???? Yay????? (I'm excited just confused TT0TT)
Tartarus looks decent, I'm hoping I like the gameplay loop even tho they've cut stuff I love! I'm hoping it's fun to explore!
I like the new upgrades to the presentation for the minor stuff (going to the arcade and such).
I like SOME of the design/UI choices (the white figures remind me a lot of the opening)
OP song is.......ok, pretty visuals. I like the visuals the most. (FES's song is still my fav tho)
As much as I'm resistant to idea (lots of pros and cons, so I'm very conflicted), a part of me is kinda hoping it's a new timeline ngl. I'm just afraid of what.......that entails tho. Like if it's a new timeline, it would explain some....differences and that would be cool. But at the same time I'm....afraid of them changing the ending. I guess I'm preemptively trying to soften the blow in case it happens?
I guess the confliction is "exploring something new" vs "actually honoring the original work????" (which I'm not really feeling they are doing atm).
I dunno, if they wanted to just do a new timeline experimental thing I'd rather they ruin/mess with P4. As someone who prefers P4 Vanilla and can easily just play that as my definitive version, I would've been more down with them messing with P4, and keeping P1/2/3 more faithful and creating a definitive version. Wait...."new timeline"....uhoh *opens up new post* Theory time ;w;
But...yeah I'm sorry anon. I didn't think I was posting about it THAT often tbf (I think the most I've said is on twitter and it's mostly been about the models/lighting fksjkldja but even then I don't think it was THAT often either).
Who knows, maybe I'll like P3R when it releases! Or maybe I'll ignore it and jus stick with FES/P. We'll find out later I guess. TT0TT
#p3r salt#silly asks#silly answers#silly salt#don't worry i have issues with P4 too maybe not the same as other's#(it's probs why I prefer playing the vanilla ver of P4)

Okay, random Star Wars: Rebels ramble, feel free to skip, because it is really long and mostly praise that someone's probably already described better than me. Also, spoilers for seasons 1-3.
Rebels is so good? Genuinely the first and only Star Wars media that truly drove me crazy 'cause the writing, the score (Force theme I love you and how you're subtle but potent in every instance), the characters, even the art style? Made me cry actual tears with their moments of brilliance.
TCW is so widely considered the superior one but the "The Last Battle" episode in Rebels made me have more feelings about the Clone Wars than all 7 seasons of TCW. Like, that little homage to the show with the end logo and score? Had me crying, the futility and destruction wrought on the entirety of the galaxy by that war only affected me after that episode. It gave a lot of emotional context to the events of TCW, I felt a weird fondness for the TCW characters after this episode. Also, captain Rex in Rebels is dealt with beautifully.
All the "big-shot" characters are dealt with well, actually. Ahsoka, Vader, Obi-wan, even Maul- none of them seem overdone, or like they're stealing the show, but their lines are powerful. The final few minutes of the S2 finale, where there's a montage of everyone's fate, and then the fade-out on a hopeful note despite the horror of everything? Made me have incoherent thoughts.
Vader walking out completely exhausted, the lightsaber mark on his helmet, limping physically and emotionally? I felt that scene- I felt the pain and conflict in his heart even in that simple walk- in the way he tried to negotiate with Ahsoka, in that uncertainty in his eye before he suppressed Anakin again, in the way (someone else has pointed this out, borrowing it) he says "revenge is not the jedi way"- it's not a taunt, not really a tactic to make her back down- it's a final lesson to his apprentice. And then, that walking out with the owl (I guess it's an owl) having its happy little flutter over the devastation of that planet? Showed me how powerful yet broken Vader is.
Even Ahsoka's "I won't leave you"- it's not with any real hope that he'll turn. It's a way to seal a gushing wound she knows will never heal otherwise. Her guilt is a factor, but so is the jedi way she claims to have left. She will stand by her loyalty to Anakin, even if it kills her. And implying that it does kill her, but still showing her silhouette in the blinding light for a second? dfjiwrgbju I know she comes back, because spoilers from Mandalorian, but I'm beyond excited to see how.
The Spectres have my heart, every single one, and I love how all of them are taken seriously. I won't get started on any of them cause I won't be able to stop. They seem realer, more human, more attached to each other; more like a family, in a nutshell, than any group in TCW (for me, at least). The slow unravelling of their personal histories is done realistically, and the absence of OP heroes whose lightsabers can cut through a thousand droids kinda... elevates the plots? All the Spectres use their respective skills, their plans are dynamic and refreshing because of the different approaches they take, and each episode explores different planets and peoples with a closeness that I feel was absent in TCW. They aren't just tactically judged- we feel an affinity for the Rebels' cause through their respect for the people they help. The Ghosts of Geonosis episodes, with the last surviving native and the egg, are a nice example of this.
S2's finale, with Ezra's temptation and Kanan's blinding, sets up S3's conflicts beautifully, while still showing that the family's love for each other will carry them through, together. The fact that their responsibilities have grown, their risks and reach expanded, their individual demons demanding resolutions- all of it prophetizes danger, but hope that goodness will prevail- which in my opinion is the point of all of Star Wars.
It also sets up the Rebellion and the Empire as each other's foils, and does it well- it gets too on-the-nose sometimes (Saw Gerrera episode) but I think the episode where Zeb and Agent Kallus are stuck on the ice moon maintains subtlety while driving this point home. Kallus isn't bereft of honor, he's not inherently cruel, and he starts off with good intentions, but the Empire's way of doing things is calculated to quash any and all warmth or camaraderie. Kallus watching Zeb getting rescued by his team, with all their concern and joy, and contrasting that with the cold welcome he himself receives, the dreary and desolate quarters that are his home- it truly makes his defection believable, and it endeared his character to me. His changing relationship with his own sense of duty was conveyed in a lucid but not overt manner. Also, on the subject of foils, someone had mentioned that Kanan and the GI are such a pair, which I didn't really see, but I think S3 is doing a good job of setting Hera and Thrawn as each other's foils, with their approach to, or rather philosophy of, leadership- both are effective, but one will ultimately best the other. No, I'm not completely basing this off the screen cutting back and forth to their faces during part 1 of the S3 finale, why do you ask?
For the point of camaraderie, you also have the examples of Imperial training- no referring to each other with names, "there are no friendships here", the encouragement of disdain for each other- it portrays how many of the Imperials have had so much of their humanity taken away that believing in the Empire's grand vision is all they have left to console themselves. On the other hand, we have the Rebels treating even Chopper as a sadistic and cranky crew member. The droid double agent episode? Love. This can't be Chopper, he's too polite. They actually name the Attolan base after him.
Also, S3 gave us Grand Admiral Thrawn. Gold star. Stupendous. Villain of the year. I know he's going to wreck shit in the S3 finale, cannot wait to want to punch him. The politeness, the level-headedness, the cold, calculated cruelty; this guy is Competent, and his voice actor has my undying respect. Impeccable example of a voice "so soft you can hear the ice settling on his tongue". I'm starting to feel bad for how his accurate deductions never work out because everyone implementing them simply isn't on his level. Alsoo this may completely change with S4, but there's this quote someone used about Julius Caesar- "he is a man of violence, but not a violent man"- which I think describes S3 Thrawn pretty well.
After TCW's episodic cardboard villains, and the other extreme of invincible master deceiver Sidious, Rebels' Thrawn and Callus (first 2 seasons) manage to be an actual recurring threat whose plans are clever enough to challenge the heroes. Whenever Vader shows up, you can see why he's feared- not just for his prowess in conflict, but for his intelligence and perception- the crumbling Imperial resistance on Lothal in S1 suddenly does everything right when Vader shows up. He's only thwarted by having two ships collapse on him, and Ezra's reaction makes it clear that he Did Not expect Vader to brush that off, or survive at all.
Also, character arcs? Maul's despondency and craving for solace, for revenge against the Sith, whose ways he can nevertheless not give up? Kanan's growing acceptance of the Rebellion's bigger purpose and his own reconciliation with the Force and his changing identity as a jedi and teacher? Accomplishing the mark of a true master- trusting their apprentice and letting go because he knows he's done his part teaching? Ezra is... too long for this post. Also, Sabine and Zeb's reconciliation with their family/planet? All the Rebels restoring each others' faith? Even the minor characters- Fenn Rau, Hondo, Callus (don't mind me, this guy just became my blorbo, I absolutely cannot with him in the ice moon episode)- they're all fleshed out really well.
In summary (as if I've actually structured this) Rebels has a lot more heart than other SW media for me- the emotional beats which often fell flat in TCW worked on me here. Every time the Spectres made a decision saying "you are my home, you are my family"- it felt earned. I was genuinely upset even when the Phantom was destroyed. S4 better not come for the Ghost. Rebels really captured the humanity of the galaxy with these touches of how the Rebellion came together- the episode with the B-wing prototype, the squadron team-ups, the local recruits throwing off the yoke of the Empire. The success of the show, I think, was they made it small-scale. The little details took up entire episodes, and I personally couldn't stop watching.
On the subject of ships- Kanan and Hera activated the rijwasbkgie switch in my head that I had, until now, only observed in you fine bloggers.
Just to mention stuff I didn't like- the Inquisitors were cool, but ultimately forgettable. When the Seventh Sister opened her helmet I legit thought BARRISS OFFEE???? for a second, but alas, it was not to be. Also, Azmorigan- slimy, unnecessary, looks and acts like the vibe of the Denethor tomato scene come to life.
To conclude, if you like Star Wars, watch Rebels, especially if you've already watched TCW. I watched in that order (skipped Bad Batch because I'm not sure I'll like it) and it made TCW's points about violence and courage more poignant for me. Also, you get to see a badass character use the Darksaber right when you thought she couldn't get any more badass, and Kanan Jarrus offering free therapy via training to everyone, including, fortunately, himself. The lightsaber duels are to die for; Twilight of the Apprentice boasts probably the best-choreographed duelling in all of Star Wars- the Inquisitors against the jedi (and Ahsoka) and Maul, blind! Kanan defeating Maul, and the Ahsoka/Vader fight that I'm completely normal about? Poetic cinema.

That is a tough one. I love undertale and deltarune, my phase lasted 8 years, (and in reality, it's still here) and in it I wrote a whole Mary Sue character that after being too op, was neutralized by a ton of trauma, which was basically my vent most of the time. The undertale community was beautiful.
"Stay determined."
"Despite everything - it's still you."
"I gave up trying to go back a long time ago. And getting to the surface doesn't really appeal anymore, either, cause even if we do... we'll just end up right back here, without any memory of it, right? To be blunt... It makes it kind of hard to give it my all."
"It's a beautiful day outside, birds are singing, flowers are blooming, on days like these kids like you- S h o u l d. B e. B u r n i n g. I n. H e l l"
Yet in fact, Hollow Knight was also an impactful game for me, a safe place that made me cry from how good its lore was. My art will forever be changed thanks to it, with it's beautiful community, memes, and art. It had brought me closer to a certain someone in my life, and helped keep me sane in some of my worst times.
"No cost too great, no mind to think, born of God and void, you shall seal the binding light that plagues their dreams. You are the vessel, you are the Hollow Knight."
"Hallownest is a vast and wondrous thing, but with as many wonders as it holds, I've seen none quite so intriguing as you. Ha. My flattery returns only silent stoicism. I like that. I like that very much. ...Incredible..."
But for last, the toughest one. NITW. I cannot express just how.. understood I've felt. The game felt like it followed my own story, in a way. With chaotic bits, sadness and weirdness. It's quotes will forever echo at night in my head.
"I believe in a universe that doesn't care, and people who do."
" I get it. This won't stop until I die. But when I die, I want it to hurt. When my friends leave, when I have to let go, when this entire town is wiped off the map, I want it to hurt. Bad. I want to lose. I want to get beaten up. I want to hold on until I'm thrown off and everything ends. And you know what? Until that happens, I want to hope again. And I want it to hurt. Because that means it meant something. It means I am something, at least... pretty amazing to be something, at least..."
Ok here's an indie games poll with actual variety. Choose:
#night in the woods#indie games#undertale#deltarune#and ALL OF THESE HAVE GREAT MUSIC.#hollow knight

I got a ton of questions, ¿Since when you do animatics? ¿What program do you use for drawing? ¿DID you studied an art career like story board?? ¿How old are you and since when you draw? sorry for the whole interview love ur art
I don't mind answering, actually, I'm kinda excited that someone is interested in… well… me lol
Sorry for the delay btw.
First thing, I've been doing animatics at least for 4 years now, the old ones are awful (please don't look at them) and I use
For the second question, yes and no, I'm in my third year of fine arts and finishing a second career on graphic design, I liked, but I would love that my country has careers more related to what I want, but I'm the future I would definitely improve that part and get to study something that I will really love.
And finally, I'm 19, I draw "seriously" since I was 11 or 12 basically thanks to Adventure Time and other animated series that really inspired me <3 <3 <3
Hope u're satiesfied and sorry for any mistakes, english is not my 1st language and I have trust issues so s... ops.

Hi! Anon here who asked you to clarify what the post meant: thank you so much! I really appreciate it. English isn't my first/native language so when I was reading the post I was just like "okay.. i know what all these words mean on their own :S but what is the point of the post". So once I read your explanation, it clicked.
And if I think about it, ultimately, I think I was getting confused because even though I was getting it somewhat (when reading the original op), I was already thinking with your 2 points in mind you listed that are missing and I was mostly just "what is this person on about? why can't we just exist and enjoy our porn in peace knowing it's porn and fantasy and stuff." Things along those lines.
"Plenty of actual fic content is regressive twaddle. That’s not the thing that’s special about fic at all! Many of the early acafans who waxed lyrical about how slash fandom was feminism or whatever literally just meant that women writing badwrong horny art and not apologizing was a big deal."
Yes, I agree. To me, fandom, fic and such things were always a place where I could go and be myself. Like I never felt bad about my fandom and fic stuff (or my kink stuff in general) personally but I knew that internet wise and IRL wise my experience of existence as a human being (I'm a cis female) was just different. On the internet, in fandoms especially, people just treated me like a person and I was listened to. And we could talk, exchange ideas/tropes and overall connect. In real life however, I would either be met with "you're being weird" or "hurdur it's always the quiet ones ;) ;) ;)" depending on the context, and with the first I can be like "ah whatever" but with the second one I gag every time. Let me just exist and vibe goddammit!
"But I will grant that I’ve seen plenty of idiots claiming fic is more woke than other types of iddy writing or calling fandom progressive or feminist or subversive without making it clear why they think it qualifies, and this post is a reasonable critique of those claims."
And I agree with this too. I've seen plenty of folks saying how sometimes fic is better than published novels for example, and while sure... someone could write a fic that reads better than some published novels... I recognize the fact that there's gonna be shitty (or whatever) writing both in fic and novels and it's nothing special. Shitty writing is shitty writing and good writing is good writing, whether it's in fic or novels.
Anyway, when it comes to the last part.. I'm aware of breeding kink haha, but like I already said. I think it went over my head because again, like you- I'm of the opinion that it's not transphobic because I assumed/knew that that specific type of fic was written by horny trans people who want that sort of content. I remember reading the quote and thinking "...but who else would be writing this? where are you going with this?"
I think my overall confusion is because I feel like I'm reading a comparison between two different things as if they're the same thing? Like in my mind, meta analysis and introspection all that is one thing and then porn you get off to is a different thing. BUT I guess I GET IT NOW (at least I hope I do, I'm so sorry if I sound like a moron), if they think those fics were written by people who aren't horny trans folks aka cis people who would be then stereotyping.
I'm so sorry this ended up being so long. But I wanted to thank you again so much!! I really appreciate it. You're amazing. <3
--
Thanks, anon!
I don't know that poster, so they could mean plenty of things, but my guess about the meta vs. fic comparison is that they're thinking: "Man, people keep talking about fic like it can fix representation problems, only when I actually go to look for fic, all I find is porn I hate."
