pairing: Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch x F!Resident!Reader summary: Dr Michael Robinavitch has had better days at work, Dr Cassidy Miller is determined they make it through. word count: 1.8k a/n: i have not written fanfic in years so please be gentle. have loved noah wyle ever since i stumbled upon er based on my parents rec and ever since watching the panic attack episode knew i had to write something, edited with a glass of wine so you've been warned. i will not apologise for how purely indulgent this is, oc looking after robby during and post panic attack, established relationship, oc is early 30's, robby is late 40s in my world. might be a small follow up or other adventures with cassidy and robby if there is demand. please also enjoy the little er easter eggs
â©âœ
âDana, have you seen Robby?â
The charge nurse halted, her eyes still darting around the Pitt. The aftermath of the shooting continued to revolve. Patients were scattered across chairs and in beds, doctors, nurses and med students still trying to mop up the mess. Cassidy could smell the blood seeping from her scrubs, leaving a metallic taste in her mouth. Scrub change, however, was the least of her concern.Â
âHoney, I was going to ask you the same thing.â Their joint look was one of panic. Robby's bad day had started the minute he walked into the Pitt. A breakdown this late in the day was inevitable, if thatâs what had happened, but Cassidy knew people still needed help. They needed Robby. It wasnât the time for their attending to go AWOL. âHe took Jake to see Leah,â Dana began.
âYou donât think?â Cassidy interrupted, scanning around the family room for a sign.Â
âGo Iâll cover.â Dana gripped her arm reassuringly, before turning away and barking updates.Â
Cassidy wove her way through patients and doctors. Head to the ground, trying to avoid being called in on any urgent cases. She passed Abbot and Mohan, both working on patients, their techniques getting progressively unorthodox as supplies continued to run out. Cassidy overheard them call out to Dana, looking for Robby. She had to find him before anyone else realised he was missing. There was already enough panic in the air.Â
The anniversary of Adamsonâs death was hard on all that knew him. A mass casualty was just the cherry on top. She wasnât even meant to be working, Robby didnât want her there to worry him. He was always looking out for her. It had started the day sheâd walked into the Pitt, a fresh faced student doctor, completely unaware of the job she was about to begin. Dr Robinavitch, Robby, to friends, had been her senior resident. He was her anchor in a storm, a calming and patient presence in a sea of unease. He believed in see one, do one, teach one. Never afraid to take a student under his wing and give advice not criticism. Under his and Adamsonâs tutelage, Cassidy Miller thrived into the doctor she was today. Just as calm, and as patient, steadfast and always ready to help.
They had started as co-conspirators, inside jokes, talks in the stairwell, shared early morning breakfast or late night dinners. He was her friend. But over time they became a team, they were partners. Talking each other off the ledge. Taking whatever feelings they would let out, limited as they were, and helping each other carry the burden. Robby could read Cassidyâs like one would flick through a magazine. Her thoughts and feelings always as clear as day. Cassidy was just as perceptive to Robbyâs moods, and had over the years managed to tease more out of him than anyone else. They only thing stopping the two of them: Robby was 15 years her senior. It was what had stopped him making the first move, any move. However, life was short, they both knew that, and they couldnât keep running from the inevitable (the amount of money on them getting together was also getting out of hand).Â
So, when Robby asked Cassidy to not work on the anniversary. She understood. What she still couldnât determine was why he was determined to work today. It was never going to end well. So, Cassidy had made plans. A bottle of wine and the ingredients for a lovely late night dinner still awaiting use in the fridge at home. She was unsure if, after the day, sheâd even have the strength to open the bottle, let alone cook the three course meal sheâd planned in her head. She was meant to be at home, waiting to take the weight off Robbyâs shoulders after his bad day, as she had done before. As his friend, now as his girlfriend. She wasnât meant to be covered in blood, striding through the Pitt, heart racing.Â
Cassidy knew Robby was taking today particularly hard, losing Leah hadnât helped. She had watched, stitching up patients in chairs, as he had done everything in his capacity to save her. Watched as Robby did everything he could for Jake, but some days everything just wasn"t enough. She knew he would feel like a failure. No matter how many patients he saved today, none would make up for the ones he lost. He had told her, more than once over the years they had worked together, that doctors that kept their feelings were going to get sick every once in a while, that was just how it is. Sickness always found them in the end.Â
The family room had been repurposed again. It was where they were keeping those who hadn"t made it, surrounded by the paintings of green fields and happy woodland creatures. For a room that was meant to bring calm, it only housed trauma for Robby and Cassidy knew it. The grass would have been greener in any other room in the hospital. Taking a breath and steadying herself, Cassidy pushed the door open slowly. She glanced around, assessing the scene, taking in Robby hunched on the floor. One armed wrapped around his knees, a hand covering his face. He was mumbling, self-soothing as he fought to have oxygen in his lungs, shaky breaths heaving from his ribcage. Â
Robby was covered in blood. None of it was his, and she knew she looked the same.Â
Cassidy lowered herself down, sitting next to him, while still giving enough room for him to breathe. A gentle hand placed on his forearm.Â
âRobby, darling, I need you to look at me, you need to breathe.â He continued to mumble, his hand clasping the chain around his neck.Â
âMicheal, youâre having a panic attack, câmon darling, breathe with me.â She sucked in a dramatic breath of air. Robbyâs hand found hers as she counted down, slowly exhaling. Cassidy repeated the breathing and the counting, as her breath slowed, so did his.Â
âGood, keep breathing.â
âYo-you need to get back out there, they need you,â He whispered.Â
"Right now you need me more.â
âCassie,â his voice broke. He buried his face into the crook of her neck. âI couldn't save her. I couldn"t save either of them.â
âI know darling, I know.â She ran her hand through his hair. âBut you can't think about that now, your team needs you out there, I need you out there, to help us with those who are still waiting.âÂ
âI can't.â He removed himself from her embrace, finally looking at her. His tears were barely holding in the corner of his eyes. Robby's head shook, defeat washing over his face.Â
âYou can.â Cassidy stood, holding out her gloved hand, âTake my hand.â A pause. Grasping her outstretched palm and stood, lightly brushing her away. Cassidy took a step back. Her eyes scanning for any lasting damage, his breathing had returned to normal.Â
âDo you want to tell me what happened?â She asked, her hand resting on his forearm.Â
âI'm fine.â He replied shortly, shrugging off her hand.Â
âYou are not fine.âÂ
âWhat would you know?â He bit back. Trying to get a rise out of her, push her away. Cassidy never took the bait.
âEnough.â She stared, her eyes boring into him until the anger seeps away. Robby kept his eyes trained at the door, but his shoulders sagged, head hanging low as a hand found his way through his hair. âWeâre going back to work, weâre going to see as many patients as it takes for this shift, this day, to be over and then we are going home, together.â
âI donât thinkââÂ
âNo arguments, as the doctor assigned to your care.â Robby snorted, finally making eye contact and raising an eyebrow. âAs the doctor assigned to your care,â she pressed on, âI am putting you under surveillance for 24 hours.âÂ
âYou're going to watch me for 24 hours?â
âI might also watch some TV and some Chinese takeout, but yes, Iâm not leaving you alone darling.âÂ
âI donât thinâ I canât, I canât talk about it.â
âI donât need you to talk to me about any of it Robby, I understand implicitly, and because I understand I"m not going to force you, but I"m also not letting you go home alone, okay?â He nods his head, his hand finding hers again and giving it a squeeze. Cassidy replies with a small smile, standing on tiptoes to gently kiss his forehead. Robby hated all forms of PDA, but considering the circumstances, she was happy to risk it. âCâmon, itâs just another beautiful day to save some lives.â Sarcasm heavily coating her words, as she quoted the inaccurate medical drama. He laughed, eyes rolling.Â
âI should have never let you watch Greys Anatomy.â Cassidy lets out a short laugh, walking to the door, glancing over her shoulder.Â
âDon't need to now I have a real McDreamy.â Red tints his cheeks, and ears, as the smile on her face grows.Â
âHey,â Robby said, grasping her hand and pulling her towards him, âI love you.â Cassidy wraps her arms around his neck, as his snake around her waist. The hug is brief but full of everything that wonât be said until their day has ended.Â
âI know, I love you too.â
The moment the two of them exit the family room, Robby is pulled into another case. Cassidy takes a steadying breath before also returning to the throng, looking for her next case.Â
âHey, Cass, Robby alright?â Abbot asked, pulling her to the side, searching her face intently. His military training had kicked in the second patients started rolling up. Everyone needed to be on their A-game, there was no room for mistakes. They couldnât have a weak link.Â
âI talked to him, heâll be just fine when this day is over, I think we all will be.â He grinned slightly.Â
âAmen to that sister.â He put his hand up for a high-five and her palm collides into his. Jack holds her hand for a second, squeezing with reassurance. Her and him were a team, they would get Robby through this day, together. His hand drops at the sound of yelling.Â
âJesus Gloria!â Robby exclaimed, "The police are still looking, why donât you go back to your managerial high tower and let the rest of us get back to work." Jack and Cassidy make instant eye contact as Robby storms off.Â
âYou talked to him huh?â Abbot teased, as you both drop what youâre doing to run to Robby.Â
âI did the best I could.â
âDr Miller, we need help over here!âÂ
âGo," Jack murmurs, giving her a shove in the right direction, âWeâve got Robby now.â Cassidy let herself be pulled back into the chaos of the Pitt, now wasnât time to be worrying about Robby, he would be okay. When their shift ended, she would make sure of it.Â

If warner bros. forced you to at gun point, how would you try and make the dumb Hanabara cinematic universe that scoob tried to start?
This is kind of a hail mary, but I think the best way to pull this off would be to use that Jellystone show that came out a little while ago, which is set in the Yogi Bear universe. I heard that was pretty good? Above average for HB cartoon stuff, anyways, and I know it had a lot of characters from their properties crossing over.
This version of the plan assumes you asked me this question like 8 years ago. My plan would be to attempt to generate a weird, devout following for that show by putting a bizarre amount of effort and money into it. Try to aim for that Friendship is Witchcraft craze online, but obviously not to that degree since that's never happening again ever. But like... maybe 5% of that. Make that your goal so weird, amiable nerds are super into your show and want to get into the lore. Those guys are going to be your ambassadors.
After a season or two of this version of Jellystone is fully established, try to build hype online with mid-sized cartoon YouTubers doing tie-ins and making hour-long videos like "JELLYSTONE IS ACTUALLY AMAZING?!". Hopefully these will generate somewhere in the 100-300k view range and generate word of mouth to more everyday cartoon fans.
It's critical during this time period that there's an official YouTube channel uploading Jellystone episodes in full FOR FREE. You need to have a double digit number of shit up there for everyone to watch. And then you need to have an easy place they can go online to pay money to watch the rest. IT CANNOT BE A SERVICE NO ONE WILL USE LIKE PEEBO PREMIUM+ OR SOME SHIT. But make it accessible enough that a good number of people interested will actually buy the show to watch it instead of pirating it.
Use Bluey's social media team and presence online as a guide. They do a really good job of this.
Once this has all been done, it's time to bring Scooby-Doo into this. Have a tie-in TV movie that runs all the time on Cartoon Network. It's not going to make you a lot of money, but kids are going to watch it when they're home from school. (Do kids watch TV anymore? This is operating on the assumption they still do this like I did in 2004 so maybe this advice sucks. Skip this advice if it sucks.)
Have Scooby and the gang become regulars on Jellystone and do your best to continually create tie-in work. Scooby is going to be your powerhouse to introducing other CHILDREN to Jellystone's universe.
Then once you start making money and you've got 3+ seasons of Jellystone working under your belt, you might maybe be able to launch a side show with someone like Blue Falcon provided he and Dinomutt have already made appearances in Jellystone and people like them. This spin-off will not be that popular but it's fine. You can sell toys.
Keep Scooby as Scooby. Scooby still does his own shows. It's the most popular and recognizable series you've got. You don't want to change that or force the Jellystones in there outside of cameos.
THIS is when you make the SCOOB movie. And the tie-in characters all need to be characters from Jellystone. You can have one or two new ones. I'd say Dick Dastardly can still be your villain. Jellystone should have generated some level of hype by this point so there will be a nonzero number of people going to see the SCOOB movie because of that, and this movie is in theaters so at least a few moms and normies will be introduced to Jellystone through this.
After that, the EU can putter along and generate toy revenue for another six seasons or so if you're really lucky and probably one more spinoff show that kind of sucks provided Scooby has a tie-in movie to remind people your universe exists every two years or so.
That's the best I got.

With all due respect, hate you, hate you so much, you got such a great vision of Roy and Hawkeye it makes me want to be able to fund you liveblogging both versions of the anime and the manga. Like, what the hell, you're not even as deep as all of us on this side, and you just do *that*. Gets me mad in a way that I got to go write something about them too
I HAVE ONLY SEEN UP TO EPISODE 15 OF THE 2003 ANIME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T SPOIL ME I AM REALLY ENJOYING MYSELF.
You know, sometimes in life, you just have to go, "Oh. Guess I'm here now." Same thing happened to me when I first got into Overwatch and I was like, "Oh, the untouchable unreachable cold assassin will be my girl!" and Tracer popped up like, "Did you mean the unfailingly brave and cheerful one? It is now!" (also, the main protagonist??? Or at least she was at the time. Never happens for me.)
I basically feel like I was punched in the back of the head in a dark alleyway by the relationship between those two. I am obsessed with whatever insane bullshit it is they have going on. The mind whirs. I like Roy and Hawkeye a lot individually, sure, but I don't know that they would, absent each other occupy all that much of my brainspace. But together!! Together!
Anyway, it's hilariously to the point where I almost don't want to watch more (I will, don't worry) because I very much love the vision I have of them cooked up in my head and I don't want to have something happen where it stops being fun for me, like, god forbid they kiss or some shit. I am trying not to get too attached to the thoughts I have about them, but when you watch a show the way I do, it involves a lot of ACTIVE watching and not passive watching, so I feel like a participant in the story. This can be really good--if I love something I tend to really love it and have lots to say--but it also means I get more disappointed than someone who binges the whole thing.
PLEASE DON'T SPOIL ME FOR ANY THING OR ANY VERSION
ANYWAY, this was a really nice comment! I am so happy that people who like Roy and Hawkeye seem to enjoy my take on them despite me not having much other than vibes to go on. They are very fun to think about. Having a great time.
They're so fucked up that I can't imagine them getting out and doing something different and better. Would they even know how to function in normal society? I can't see Hawkeye working in like, a cafe ahaha. Has Roy ever been allowed to learn how to warm and create with his alchemy, or is it all just destruction and COULD it even ever be something good?
AGAIN, I AM, A WOMAN ONLY 1/5 OF THE WAY THROUGH THE 2003 ANIME, AM JUST TLAKING OUT LOUD FOR MY OWN ENJOYMENT AND TO TORTURE MY FOLLOWERS. PLEAAAAASSSEEE DON'T SPOIL.
I think maybe Roy knows how utterly fucked he is for civilian life and part of his 'dog of the military' warning is 'if you grow around this metal pole, you won't be able to leave it alive'. Maybe. But Hawkeye, no I think--well in fairness I don't that she's thought it that far out, nor cares to. I think she's probably assumed she'll die in the service and that'll be that. Not in a melodramatic way, just, matter of fact*. How could she ever retire, even? Would she leave with Roy, if he asked? Would he ever be so unkind as to ask her? Even if he managed to find the will to walk out?
He's a mess, and she's a mess, and they are messes in completely different ways, and I am glad it inspires you to think about them some more as well!!
*Eta: I also think she underestimates how deeply Roy would mourn her. Not in a 'I'm not worth anything :(" way, I just think there's a part of her that doesn't like the idea of somehow being the cause of Roy being more of a disaster than he already is so she is just like, "It'll be fine. Hughes will have to step up. He'll be fine." But Roy has like two friends and Hughes is a functional human being.
AGAIN PLS NO SPOIL!!
#doc answers#lipeaoi#Hawkeye expressed an emotion once 15 years ago and she barely escaped with her life she will not make the mistake again#It's interesting because I see Fareeha as someone who WANTS to get better at softness though she never really takes to it.#She struggles but she does try and she does improve#Hawkeye like lol no#Thanks hard pass#I have no idea what made her this way but its so fun to think about#and I don't want her to literally ever get better ahahah#anyway I'm sure at some point in the show I'll get to see her like snuggling a baby or sobbing openly and I'll vomit#but for now I get to have fun ahaha

More thoughts on El Toro de Piedra, specifically on Juleka's side.
First and of course, I do really wish we'd gotten to see more build-up and more screentime for Juleka getting a big moment, though I'll never complain about her getting any focus. (Fingers weakly crossed for episode 6 when we get it...? my hopes are low but not-zero I guess.)
For me personally, juxtaposing the song with the fight made the fight harder to follow. Part of that was just that I struggle to watch both subtitles and the action, so that's not a fault or anything. And I fully respect the decision to not include fight sound effects alongside the song, as that DOES make it much easier to watch the song on its own later, but I think it would have felt nicer AS part of the episode itself if it had included at least some of the fight sounds.
HOWEVER, I do think it was a WONDERFUL decision to also throw her in with the theme of this episode.
We have three charactersâ Ivan, Adrien, and Nathalieâ all with very complicated relationships with their dads, all of whom are/were really shitty and want their kids to go down the same shitty paths.
But then we've got this girl who barely knows her dad, met him for the first time less than a year ago, who also has a really complicated relationship and hasn't gotten over the ways in which he was shitty. And unless it's changed in the last few months, her greatest fear is presumably still him hating her and discouraging or breaking her dreams. But her dream IS to be like him, and has been since before she learned he was her dad. And honestly I think that's so much nicer than anything else they could have included. Someone like Marinette who just has a good relationship with her dad or even another dad that used to be bad but improved wouldn't hit nearly as hard as a dad who used to suck, who's improved but still has an at best tenuous relationship, yet whose legacy is still what one of his children wants more than anything in the world.
Just. What a good contrast. Sometimes a parent's legacy is imposed against your will, and sometimes it's embraced enthusiastically, but sometimes it's something you want despite your relationship. Sometimes it's actively something that helps connect you and can lead to improving the relationship.
And on a separate Juleka note, of course LET'S GO JULEROSE, but specifically...
Given Juleka's reaction to the kiss, I think I've decided the funniest interpretation of the ship (and thus the one I'm choosing to believe) is that they weren't dating before, and might still take a little longer to Officially get together now. Imagine. Imagine for me.
They're that cuddly all the time. They talk about how much they love each other and stare deeply into each other's eyes. They give each other cheek kisses way more often than other friends do, more than either of them gives other friends. Rose kisses Juleka on the mouth during the Zombizou incident and Juleka is super flustered by it but that was clearly just an akuma thing and she never mentions it afterward, or if Rose remembers since she wasn't akumatized herself then they just choose not to talk about it. They watch Marinette and Adrien be clueless all year and Rose keeps complaining about why won't those two just get it already. Rose marches down and tells the idiots if they don't kiss already then she's just gonna kiss them both. Nobody has this same problem watching Juleka and Rose be clueless because everybody genuinely though they were already together. Except them. They still took months to realize, and then both of them were like "but what if she doesn't feel the same way and then I make it weird" until Rose just went for it this episode. Absolute disaster sapphics if I ever saw them. 12/10.

Clemont's characther analysis (Pokeani centered)
Okay so... Iâve really been wanting to do an analysis of this little sour lemon for a while now, and since I got the green light in the XY community, I just couldnât resist.
Warning!: This post is going to be long and it's translated from Spanish (I don't think my English is good enough for this kind of thing)
I find it very interesting how my hyperfixation with Lem has developed now, as Iâve grown older.
When I was a kid and watched the series (I still identified completely as female back then), my favorite character was Serena in every possible way. I was stunned by her performances and I wanted to be like her.
But when I went back to thinking about the series (and later rewatching it), I found one of the most human charactersâat least in that season. Him.
So, as you guys would say, âBear with me,â or as weâd say in latin-america, âSĂganme los buenos,â and letâs begin this analysis.
âIâm not satisfied with who I am rigth nowâ â Clemont, episode 866/62
His background, story, and initial surroundings:
Itâs most likely that he lived his whole life in Lumiose Cityâor at least thatâs the most reasonable assumption, since we see one or two flashbacks of him as a kid living there (like in the Shinx episode, where he studies in a neighboring town he had to move to for a while).
And we can already see that from his immediate family environment, thereâs a bit of pressure. A family that may well be the only support system he ever had, since, based on his slight social awkwardness, we can assume he didnât have many friends.
Heâs the cityâs Gym Leaderâa position he earned, according to the anime, because heâs a genius when it comes to Electric-types. More recognitionâand yep, more pressure.
Even in the games, heâs known as âThe inventor lighting up the world!â
Itâs clear he doesnât have much faith in himself, or at least he doesnât seem very confident in that role.
He has a father whoâs incredibly encouraging, someone who supports and believes in himâwhich, on the surface, sounds great.
But at the same time, we see that Clemont didnât feel confident enough to tell him the Gym had been taken over or controlled by Clembot. Thereâs no solid reason for this, especially since his dad genuinely supports himâbut if we dig a little deeper, we can see it was out of fear of disappointing him.
His father is always trying to help him improve as a Gym Leader, with a positive and well-intentioned approach.
But to Clemont, those intentions may come off as expectations.
And then thereâs his sisterâbut not an older sister who could guide and support him, show him the way.
Instead, he has a younger sister. Heâs the one who has to be that figure for Bonnie: a guide, a companion, a shoulder to cry on, and the brother who gives advice. Even if no one directly told him to, he wants to take on that responsibility.
Yep, you guessed it. More pressure.
I want to make it clear that none of these pressures and expectations come from a place of bad intent or malice. His familyâand even, to a certain extent, the cityâgenuinely have a lot of faith in him. They believe in his abilities and see him as someone capable of great things.
But that doesnât make the weight of it all any lighter. That faith ends up becoming some pretty big shoes to fill.
And itâs mostly him who feels that pressure and sees things this way. Itâs not so much that others are pushing it on himâitâs that he puts those expectations on himself, just by realizing how much people believe in him.
His personality and role in the group
(Quick disclaimer: itâs been a while since I rewatched XY, so I might not be 100% accurate.)
We can't get much insight into his personality outside of the Kalos group, since there arenât many glimpses into his more recent past. Most flashbacks go way too far back.
(Though itâs worth highlighting that in the Shinx episode, his natural inclination to help and his determination to use science for the greater good are already presentâshowing that these traits existed before his interest in battling.)
That being said, we can assume he used to be a bit more quiet and reserved than how he appears in the main animeâmaybe even more nervous.
From the start, we can tell heâs a rather calm person, as expected. Heâs knowledgeable in many areas relatedâobviouslyâto science and PokĂ©mon. He often plays the role of the âinformedâ one in the group, recognizing moves, abilities, and strategies.
Iâd also like to highlight his mannerisms, way of speaking, and even his languageâat least in the original Japanese version (not sure how much of this was lost in translation). His speech is always very polite, though never to the point of sounding snobbish or unnecessarily formal. Heâs still the softest and kindest in the group. For instance, heâs the one who most frequently says âpleaseâ when calling on his PokĂ©mon or giving them commands (again, in the original version at least).
He seems like someone whoâd rather focus on finding a solution than dwell on the problemâunless the issue is too big and he feels incapable of solving it. In that case, he tends to quietly give up instead of complaining, getting angry, or whining. Almost as if he expected to fail.
Like when he believed Luxio hadn't forgiven him or thought Chespin would be better off with another trainer - he didn't cry or cause drama; he just quietly prepared himself, almost like he thought he deserved it.
He also gets noticeably flustered when complimented (maybe a bit insecure).
Itâs clear that heâs one of the calmest and most collected members of the quartetâalongside Serena. Heâs never loud or disruptive, and often acts as the peacemaker when tensions rise.
Of course, heâs calm.
Unless weâre talking about science and inventions.
Thatâs when his passion overflows, and the calm demeanor starts to fade. His conviction about how âThe future is now thanks to science!â takes over and he turns into a full-on fanboy. Anything science-related excites himâeven just visiting a PokĂ© Ball factory is enough to make him giddy.
He genuinely believes that science can create a better future and help people. (Please, hold onto that idea of helping.) He finds it deeply disturbing when robotics and technology are used for unethical purposes.
This less shy and withdrawn version of him shows us something importantâhe really is comfortable around Serena, Ash, and the group in general. At least during the Kalos journey, he seems more at ease than we imagine he was before the series began.
Another noteworthy traitâespecially when you consider his upbringingâis how heâs always looking to help. That small need is always present. When one of his inventions has the chance to be useful, he presents it with a bit of pride, happy to have found a situation where his passion and talent can actually make a difference.
But this goes so far that it once led him to be tricked by Team Rocket, who pretended to be someone else and convinced him that he could help by building a machine for them.
If you look closely, Clemont's very first appearance in the anime is him trying to save Ash! He doesn't know him at all he just sees someone falling from Prism Tower and immediately tries to help.
This shows that his need to help isnât something trivialâitâs tied deeply to those expectations placed on him.
Even within the group, he plays the most âresponsibleâ roleânot just literally (heâs the one who apologizes on behalf of the group, the most grounded one), but also behaviorally. He acts in that âolder brotherâ way: cooking, looking after others.
Beyond his natural role as a big brother, this also seems to stem from his ongoing desire to behave in an âidealâ wayâas if heâs still trying to fill those shoes.
This gets to the point where in the games, he uses his defeat as an opportunity to advice Bonnie!
âResponsible.â âKind.â âCalm.â âUseful.â
His Interests and His Inner Conflict:
He definitely has very defined interests.
His great passion for science/mechanics/robotics, his love for Pokémon (more specifically, Electric-types), and, a little more hidden, his enjoyment of battling.
Why bring these up? Because they tell us a lot about Clemontânot just about his personality, but also about expectations.
And about a small yet huge inner conflict between what he likes, what he knows he's good at, and something in which he feels he's not good enough. Because yes, they do clash with each other.
To begin with, his love for PokĂ©mon is not something isolatedâit intertwines deeply with both his passion for science and for battles.
He loves science as a way to create a better world for Pokémon. And he loves battles as a way to understand them.
There isn't much more to add about his passion for inventions that hasnât already been said. Itâs something that clearly interested him from a young age, something that fascinated him ever since. He loves understanding how things work, how to create, and most of all, how to provide or help through it. (Yes, I may be repeating myself, but it really is a strongly marked trait.)
And, moreover, itâs something heâs good at. Itâs something that comes naturally to him, something he feels is truly his own, something he sees as his gift and what he can offer to the world. Naturally, it's a passion where he finds comfort in the feeling of being sufficientâsomething he, as we know, deeply needs.
He found a purpose through this.
But even though itâs not immediately noticeable, itâs not the only thing he likes.
Besides his general love for learning more about Pokémon, he truly enjoys battling.
We can notice that heâs the one who knows the most about it in the groupâsecond only to Ash, of courseâwhich comes naturally with his role as âthe knowledgeable oneâ and as a Gym Leader.
Moreover, we can see how much he enjoyed battling Ash, both in their first encounter and in their official Gym battle.
No, heâs definitely not as vocal about it as Ash is, but he likes it. He enjoys preparing, training, crafting a good strategy.
He simply doesnât openly say it, and he's not the type to actively seek out battles. (Important note: he usually only battles when itâs to protect his loved onesâespecially against Team Rocketâwithout hesitation.)
So that leaves us with a question: why?
We know he enjoys battling, and sees it as a way to better understand Pokémon, so why does he keep it so hidden?
Wasnât that the very reason he chose to become a Gym Leader? Because he wanted to understand PokĂ©mon better through battles?
We could simply attribute this behavior to his more peaceful, reserved natureâand we wouldn't be wrong.
But we can also see that he doesn't believe he's particularly good at it. And that's probably why he doesnât feel very confident about itânot just showing it, but even within himself.
Because being a Gym Leader is about that. In his own words, a Gym Leader must be a wall that pushes trainers to become stronger.
And he doesnât believe he lives up to that.
During the journey with Ash, he seesâquite clearlyâmany other Gym Leaders. Leaders who, surely to him, perfectly fulfill their role (presenting a real challenge, helping Ash grow as a trainer), putting in front of him a living example of what he thinks he should be.
And not only that: he also gets to see, firsthand, the other sideâthe challengerâs side. He sees how Ash gets truly excited about battling for a badge, how he prepares, eager and happy for a good match.
This, added to the involuntary pressure he felt back in Lumiose City, ended up making him even more insecure in that area.
So the question now is: how does he deal with these insecurities? How does he handle not feeling good enough at something he should excel at?
He doesn't. He escapes.
Well, better said, he used to escape.
He takes refuge in what he is truly good at: inventing (let's ignore the fact that they sometimes explode).
To avoid facing the feeling of failure or inadequacy, he focuses on what he knows he can do well, where he feels useful and safe.
This gets to the point where thatâs practically why he created Clembot. I'm not arguing that he did it out of laziness to improve, but I do want to highlight that it was, at least in part, to have more time to focus on mechanics rather than confronting his deeper issues.
Yes, because instead of facing his insecurities head-on, he seeks to feel useful and capable through other means.
Iâm not saying he doesnât genuinely love science and mechanics.
But his focus on them may also be tied to avoiding that internal conversation.
You could even argue that one of the reasons he agreed to join this journey was to get out of Lumiose for a while.
I'm not saying it was his only reasonâbut it definitely was one of them.
Letâs remember that before this, Clemont spent his days wandering around Prism Tower, trying to find a way to regain control of it.
In other words, constantly surrounded by a reminder of his failures.
He always seems to avoid these problems.
Maybe because he doesnât believe he can solve them.
Maybe because he simply doesnât have the courage yet to face them.
His Growth:
It could be summarized in one sentence:
"Grant me the strength to change the things I can change within myself, and the love to accept the things I cannot."
Although his development is more a matter of one episode rather than a gradual thing across the series, we can still highlight how he grows.
We know he started out as a calm and slightly insecure boy, who seemed to prefer escaping from problems and feared failure.
To understand this, we should ask ourselves: What does he need? What kind of push does he require to start moving forward?
We know he doesnât need someone to believe in himâor at least, thatâs not the most important thingâbecause that would likely just put more pressure on his shoulders.
But he doesnât need that pressure to disappear entirely either. While he does need to stop feeling like heâs not enough, it would also be a mistake for him to think he has nothing to improve, because that would mean denying reality.
He needs to look inward with sincerity, seeing both his virtues and his flaws, and accepting himself.
To stop running away from reality and to work on it. To stop seeking refuge only in what heâs already good at and focus on improving in what he wants to be better at.
He needs a fuller self-concept. More positive, of course, but above all, more completeâone where heâs not blind to his flaws (like fleeing from his insecurities).
And he starts doing that, little by little.
-Victory Over Clembot
In this episode, he starts to take a step forward.
Itâs an episode where he returns to Lumiose City and admits the whole truth to the others.
He tells them the story of Clembot, and with their help, he ends up defeating his own creation.
He must face his responsibilities, the weight that comes with them. Now Ash and Serena know who he really is. He has to look reality in the face and accept it.
He had decided to keep it hidden, but was forced to show it. Heâs still not completely ready or comfortable, but itâs a big step.
Moreover, he accepts it: by agreeing to battle Ash himself, heâs accepting that responsibility and the role on his shoulders.
And that's why the victory over Clembot is symbolically important too. The takeover of the Gym was one of his mistakes, and now, he is capable of confronting it.
He is able to face one of his failures and fix it, to make amends.
Beyond accepting it, he sees that he is capable. Capable of fixing a mistake.
Maybe this time, because he didnât try to fix it alone, he succeeded.
Other positive experiences that helped him gain more confidence included episodes like the one with Shinx.
He saw that the Pokémon he thought would never forgive him for not keeping his promise actually forgave him.
Which was something important.
But that bond goes even deeper in the episode where his whole development truly takes shape.
Earlier, we could already see how surrounding himself with a more positive environment was good for him, making him calmer.
But more importantly, what helped him the most was his bond with Ash. He sees in Ash someone fearless, someone heâs willing to become better for.
Because Ash gives him an example. An example is crucialâit allows you to look inside yourself.
Something he really needed.
But soon, that would reach another level.
-Voltage Badge
This character arc is the most important one. And it begins a few days before the battle between Clemont and Ash. Itâs after this arc that Clemont truly begins to move forward.
It all starts when the group realizes theyâre finally close to Lumiose City.
And with Clemont... hesitating.
It was time to fulfill the promise he made. The time for their battle was drawing near.
Would he be able to meet the expectations?
He had learned a lot from Ash, and he wanted to give something back. But would he be able to?
He doesnât think soâand all the insecurities he tried to bury resurface.
But once again, itâs seeing Ashâs determination that pushes him to act.
The group gets cornered by Team Rocket again, who this time have taken control of Ashâs Pikachu and Clemontâs own Luxio.
A lightning-strength Thunder Fang attack is coming straight at Ash, and yet his only thought is to reunite with his PokĂ©monâeven if it means putting himself in mortal danger.
And seeing that, Clemont decides something.
Ash was always like this. Some might call him stubborn or reckless. But to Clemont, he is determined.
If he lost five leagues, heâd challenge a sixth.
If the first hit didnât work, heâd keep trying until it did.
If he wanted to rescue someone, he wouldâeven if it meant putting his life at risk (jumping from Prism Tower to save a Garchomp, or crossing a cliff to rescue Bonnie, for example).
And that's when, surprising everyone, Clemont's usual calm is replaced by determination.
He gets hit by a Thunder Fang, but he doesn't care.
Thereâs a greater goodâsomething he wants to protect: his friends and his PokĂ©mon.
Itâs in his nature to defend, but this time, he crossed one of his own internal barriers.
Thatâs why the groupâs victory was possible. But there's more.
His mindset had changed drastically.
When the incident needs to be reported in Lumiose City, Clemont makes a decision.
He decides to face his insecurities head-on.
He hesitates for a moment, but he asks if he can accompany them back to the city.
Heâs going to leave the group for a while.
No more running away. Now there is reflection.
He knows he's not satisfied with something, and instead of hiding behind something else, he decides to change it.
He even tells his friendsâand his sisterâ"Iâm not satisfied with who I am right now."
But thereâs no sadness in his voice, no discomfort, no anguish you would expect from a confession like that.
Because thereâs determination.
Heâs not saying it out of insecurity or pressure.
Noâhe says it with resolve.
The resolve that heâs going to get better.
Thatâs why he takes some time off and starts looking inward.
He works hard. Really hard.
He has decided.
And later, during the battle, he says it himself:
He couldnât be happier to be a Gym Leader at that moment.
Because when the time comes to face Ash, we see a Clemont we hadn't seen until then.
A changed Clemont.
Not only happy, but excited.
Someone who enjoys the battle wholeheartedly, win or lose.
Someone who looks much stronger, who shows that his hard work paid offâmanaging to corner Ash for most of the battle.
But above all, someone who is much more confident.
Someone who faced his weaknesses and, no matter the result, will leave the match happy.
Because he grew.
Because he faced his own flaws.
Someone who is more at peace with himself.
Conclusion:
This analysis was really just an excuse to rewatch the Luxray episode and Clemontâs battle against Ash!! Haha. The end.
Okay, not really.
I wrote all of this simply because I find it incredible.
Because I really like the character and I wanted to share why.
Because without giving him an epic story about becoming the best or saving the world, he has one of the most interesting arcs in the anime.
Because it only takes looking a little deeper and asking yourself some questions to find one of the most human characters.
You donât need epic stories like Nâs or Gladionâs to make a character interesting or to connect with them.
Humanity is enough.
Itâs enough to see how a boy, whose pride was his inventions, ends up giving us one of the most spectacular battles in XY.
Because the story behind it is about someone normal, someone ordinary,
Giving it everything heâs got.
Because itâs a story about acceptance, about growth,
And about the power of human connection.
How the people you surround yourself with can transform who you are today.
Because Iâand I believe many othersâcan empathize with a character like this. Because heâs coherent, real, carrying a backpack full of burdens that could happen to anyone.
And because he can inspire.
As a writer, I can only take my hat off to the work that was done here.
Simple, but no less powerful because of it.
Because something simple and well done can be truly wonderful.
So, to finish this:
"The future is now, thanks to science!"
Or as it's said in the version I watched as a kid:
"El futuro es ahora gracias a la ciencia!"

Next time we should just skip over ep 3 and do a chapters 84-87 reread
#Mmmmmmhhhh.#Well. If anything you can always tell when there's a ss/kk episode by the fact that it takes me two hours to watch it lol#What can I say. I'm a compulsive screencap taker#Mmmmmmhhh... I was right it wasn't as bad as I remembered it. Still moderately bad but not all bad.#It's just. I can feel the animators did their best.#I suppose it's just a difficult episode to animate within a short time frame since it's a specifically action packed one.#And the lack of time really shows. Like there *are* some detailed animated passages here and there. But then there's also these long static#shots that stretch on forever that are just... Idk. A little saddening to see I guess? Like the animators really ran out of time for them#There's also a big component of... I just can't vibe with the newfound artstyle. Like it looks soooo much worse than s1 in my opinion#Which you knowâ is only subjective! But eh... The distance between s2ep11 and this feels abyssal.#Everyone looks so ugly oftentimes. Like even in curated shotsâ they're just very rough and ungraceful.#Which like?? How could you look at Harukawa's art and come up with //that//??????? But it's whatever#And the pacing is so so off đđđ God please to death with 11 episodes long seasons give us filler episodes back. Please!!!!#The pacing is atrocious and it has not even to do with the animation. Even greatly animated episodes suffer from it.#Mmmmhh... I don't particularly like Fukuchi's vacting... He doesn't sound tired enough. Nor as pitiful as much as he should tbh#Among the three I feel like only Uemura really nails the job. I'm so sorry Onoken but I feel like even Akutagawa needs to sound vulnerableâ#once in a whileâ you know? Althoughâ if he's only going with how Bones depicts himâ then I get why he would act him out like that đđđ#There were so many reused shots too... The ones from the end of s2ep11... The s3ep12 kokko zessou one... Ss/kk running in the corridors...#Overall. Not as bad as I remembered it. But at the same time I get why I was so distraught because they really wasted the best fourâ#chapters of the manga just like that.#The âis his life that precious to youâ moment was terrible đđđ Head in hands fr#Oh well. I babble a lot but it was okay. Like at least it wasn't season 3 kind of bad. And definitely wasn't t/pn s2 kind of bad LOL#I just hope ss/kk will be made justice in the future (â„ïčâ„)#Especially since their new scenes (current manga events) are possibly going to be adapted in the first episodes of the new season.#If Bones pulls another s5ep3 on them you're going to see me on the news#Then again I have hope the arc finale will be adapted in a movie... Who knows...#Most of all I hope they change art style direction again D:#random rambles#Whaaaa it's so late already!!!#Edit: Oh also to not forget I've made like. One hundred posts. Maybe it's time to unfollow me now if you haven't already D:

I kinda in the "recovery mood" so im not that active rn on internet, but this fucking cut-part storyboard (and Yang buff arms...for getting a little bit meat on Yang's arms and ponytail back i need to also get her extra tits size and ugly outfit...i cant have shit in this house without sacrificing something or make something already bad even MORE bad) got into my recommendations on yt and make me feel soooo much emotions that i need to rant into a wall.
LONG POST WARNING?
Before to start it i will honestly trying to tell what i kinda like.
+ Outside of making R/WBY feels like a fucking savers of this world, i kinda dig how sad and kinda depress this all feel at the start. This kinda stuff i want to see after vol8 - how everyone who survive is trying to live they new live and how second characters trying to hold everything together, but having a hard time. A grimm reality with almost no hope.
+ I kinda like how Winter VA was able to pull up her action? Like...i can hear that she was "grieving" a lost of her sister and that she dont feel like everything will going to be better.
+ WE STAN THIS ONE WOMAN WHO WAS TRYING TO DRAG SCHNEE. GOOD FOR HER, LET HER SPEAK!
+At least Winter remember about Penny...
And now EVERYTHING ELSE.
There is a thing - im fine with Winter and Qrow talking about in positive ways about R/WBY that they was trying to to everything that they can to save people. That they was a good huntress or something like that. They in grieving processe, "dont talk about the dead one in negative way", all that jazz. But everything that they talking about sounds like they was a new gods in this world. Like they the new savers of this world when...its not exactly true. The idea is there and this whole "you send the message to the world" can maybe works, but everything sound like they perfect people who save a whole world.
Hey guys! Are we going to...just ignore the fact that Salem now have a staff? Winter mention this but thats it. I dont know how many days its was, how hardcore we timeskip, but you telling me that Salem was just chilling in situation, when her enemy in the most vulnerable position and one of the main problem is no where to be found? Like...okay sure.
Even if i like this one lady who was calling out Schnees (again good for her, she have all right to talk like this with Willow)...i wish there was much more people who was disappointed or angry about Schnee or even angry about R/WBY. Just in general showing that people not only angry about that fact how hard they lives now but also trying to find the one who done this. Not everyone will be buss with trying to fix in what situation they are, somebody will trying to find who guilty. Its cant be the only one woman.
Okay...im maybe have a hard time to remember about vol8 and maybe i didnt rewatch vol7-8 in general that much and maybe its just me remembering things not correctly, but...is there was a whole problem to tell people the true about Salem? This whole "panic will bring grimm" thing? This was also a problem in the end of vol8 if i remember this correctly? Well, right now people not only know about Salem, but they also in extream situation with no homes, living in tents. There is no coming back to home, this is they lifes now. But no grimm problem in this epilogue. I dont even remember if Winter or Qrow mention about grimm?
Also about ignoring stuff - there is still some dead people outside of "dead R/WBY". I maybe miss something or didnt saw some detail but i dont remember some memorials for people who got kill by Cinder or solders who die protecting Atlas. I know Atlas in big mean place and "fuck military", but...they still trying to help?
There is this one moment with gravestone with "Dont Come Back", that Winter write on it. I know there is already two side of this thing (i dont believe anyone and AGAIN this whole miscommunication problem in team + both points is really fucking bad in different ways), but i just want to say that before jump into reading comments or what theory people have about this - i was having no clue what is this and for what was that. I know its storyboard and storyboards not always look with a lot of details, but i was so confuse for what this was done. Anyway, both points is bad and if Ironwood one thing is the real one - my fucking god can you stop having a beef with your own characters and remember that before Ironwood start to be cartoon man-man Winter was working with him for pretty long time?
Do you remember me talking about "both Winter and Qrow in grieving process"? Yeah i fucking lied, its only Winter. For some reasons they decide that the most depress man in this world, the most "I Am Shadow The Hedgehog" guy in the team (according to vol8) after loosing both his only nieces and a guy who was his kinda friend who help him in vol7 and the guy that YES was a antagonist for vol8, but from what i remember was also his kinda friend - absolutely positive! And not in the way that he trying to hold himself together mentally after loosing so many people all in short time, but just positive. Listen, i hate this whole "i wish Qrow was back to drinking", but this is the last guy who have to be THIS positive about everything. My guy can maybe not go into drinking speedrun for good reasons (like he dont want to drink anymore at least for his nieces or he just know that he will feel even worst if he will go drinking again, when he already have a hard time to hold himself together?), but this all feel so wrong and feel like he dont care about losing such a important people. (MY BIRDMAN YOU DESERVE BETTER ONES AGAIN)
YOU DO NOT BRING UP FAIRGAME INTO THIS. THIS IS NOT REAL. "The controversity is good" shit, can you leave FairGame shippers alone?
RAVEN IS THERE. I already knew that they will trying to redem her ass because she is a female villain in R/WBY and that scene from vol9, but...i have other questions. How...Yang is chill that Raven just...transporting them? How Ruby, who only a couple hours ago find out that her mother go on her last mission and that Raven is the one who was the last with her, is absolutely dont trying to do with her anything? How anyone is soooo chill that a bandit and maiden is there? If this was done only so RW/BY can got right to Qrow so we can have this whole...reuniting scene then WOW. There is a chance that this scene was done before they start to cut out two episode and start to working on crossover movie, but im not sure how those two episodes can fix this whole situation.
You know i maybe really touch-hungry person who love hugging, but...why nobody was trying to hug JR/WBY team after they got there? Like...Qrow is just looking at them like its norman friday after mission and the only one who at least react in some way was Nora (With a little bit Ren, Oscar have a strange reaction?). Like...you all was thinking for some time that those people is dead. You didnt know where are they, why nobody hug them or hold they hands or just in general dont trying to have a contact with them, like nobody have a "ARE YOU A REAL?" moments?
Just in general JR/WBY getting there feel...wrong? Like they teleport there and just...walk to look how this whole situation looking. Again, no hugs to Qrow or ORN, no bright reaction toward them? (i know, for R/WBY team its was maybe a couple days, you all was not sure if you even will get back to them. Also Jaune was in EA for 10-20 years. He didnt saw his team for 10-20 YEARS. Listen, im not the most biggest fan of him, but like...let at least him hug his team?). I get it when they didnt react at first, from what i can tell they didnt saw Qrow at first. But after they look at him or when ORN saw them? No? You can still end up this scene with Ruby face, i just feel like after Winter and Qrow speech such a emotions reaction can work pretty well as a ending. Like..."there is a struggle and hurt, but we dont give up" with "hope" coming back to them?
Im worry about Oscar that we ones again skip his character development off screen, but its hard to tell in 6 min long epilogue storyboard.
Still no moments with Maria and Pietro. I mix up this one old man (this one from vol8 that is also a faunus) with him and was question "why he is not in his spider-wheelchair?" but after re watching - there is just no Maria and Pietro. They still cant remember about them. They remember about Ace-Ops, Happy Huntresses (ALSO MAY IS THERE OOPS-), but fuck Pietro and Maria.
This whole thing in general didnt anser the most biggest question - how long its been after JR/WBY+Neo fell? This whole thing is not helping at all and no matter what time is canon - its will not save this moment. Its been a week/s? Qrow got from this really fucking fast and even this whole situations with people looking really too good actually. Its been a months (around 6+) or even a year? This is really bad.
ALSO something i find out only right now - MOTHERFUCKERS IS THERE. This is not...a bad thing, but now i knew that if vol10 will be a thing - they remember about both "sea boys" team and "READ A BOOK" team. Happy to see that they remember about the first one, but after finding our how "in book" team was written - im not ready to see Coco team AT ALL.
In term of fanservise, if we going to look at this from perspective of how a fan will react on this if its was a really epilogue that they didnt cut out - oh boy its working pretty fucking good and probably if this was the ending for vol9 - i feel like people would talk about this season a lot more because after the ending of vol9 even some of hardcore fans was not talking about this whole vol that much.
But in term of writing - THANK GOD THIS WAS DELETED. Sure its kinda emotional epilogue, that hitting fans in right place, but giving us pretty much moments thats dont need to be there or working not that great. I heard that they will try to make this into volume 10, which is....knowing how they dont like "kill they darling" or deleting content that they think is really cool or prioritise moments that have to be cut over moments that needed to be on screen...i have zero hopes that they will re-write this scene. Maybe they will delete Raven because right now with episodes that we got in vol9 she just...out of place there.
But we will see. There is still no greenlight info...
#rwde#also FCKING HASHTAG BEGGING FROM C/RW/BY I FUCKING CANT#Listen if i was hardcore fan and saw that other shows got new seasons-#-but for my favorite show there is still no info and the creators begging for fans help?#Thats sound depressing! Like THIS IS NOT GOOD THING#Also yeah i saw other shows that will get greenlight but your main moneycow show is still in question?#I dont have any problem with other shows (i never watch them so i cant even say anything about them) but its like...#Priority? You in shit situation there is no time for multiple shows???#But not gonna lie - its still will feel depressing if this show will survive#Like...remember infin/ity tra/in or other shows when fans was spamming everywhere (by themself!) for really good show to get a new season?#Or at least a one final episode? How creators have to fight for they shows getting one more season or one more episode-#But if this show will survive in this company for one more season or even a multiple seasons? Not because somebody just decide to-#-cut a season or âno more that two seasonâ rule or some censoring shit but because they fix they money management?#Or even worst - this all fake and new season is already greenlight and they just trying to milk more money?#This is...this is truly sad reality....

Iâm very tempted to make a post on twit asking peeps what makes new unappealing compared to arma bc even if I still really like arma and sick of how tarnish it gets in the SRW fandom, I do think new is more cohesive and probably the best written of the 3 ovas-
But whatever unappealing aspect it has that I havenât recognized-bc even with the âflawsâ I pointed out to myself that it has I donât think their show ruining-must be a universal thing because for some fucking reason itâs been a struggle to finish this god damn show irl with friends and only two people seemed fully invested anyways đ This NEVER happened with arma, especially when I actually sat down to watch episodes with someone, and SVN Iâve always finished in one sitting bc itâs so short, so I donât know why new is plagued with âoh you wanna finish this show? Throw some life inconveniences above you!â
#meg text#new getter robo#getter robo#this is mainly a exaggeration bc I donât think thereâs a actual outside force by the show causing this lol#but even if with the friends take took awhile to finish arma with me we STILL finished it#but new Iâm legitimately unsure if the group gonna be able to bc we already decided to not include two people#for no personal reasons thank god but they didnât seem to really care to begin with#Also somehow we managed to get through a good chunk of eps per session but still have 5 left#so that makes it more painful bc thatâs a lot of fucking episodes#but Iâve had at least 3 sessions where me and friends binged arma to the very fucking end (finished the whole thing in a day once even)#granted Iâve always watched it with just- one other person so that might be the real reason with new#scheduling a bitch and I gotta promise to never do a full group getter watch again after thisđ

Honestly when I say I'm not a movie watcher I feel like most ppl just don't really Get It. Or maybe instead, I just don't get how other people *are* more movie watchers than me.
Like I watch movies socially, when someone I'm hanging out with wants to watch smth, bc then I can chat about it with them & even make commentary if we're watching outside of theaters. Keeps it entertaining. But on my own??? Sitting still for 1-2 hours straight?? Focusing on one thing for that long??? Nevermind the fact that I can easily focus on smth like reading or video games for that long or longer - video games are significantly more interactive & when im reading I often take little breaks to fuck around on my phone Anyways. And sure, I've had times watching a show or whatever where I watch a full 12 or so episodes in a row, aka longer than a movie, but STILL... it's still more bite sized, easier for my brain to digest before moving on to the next one. Watching a movie alone is like hell to my adhd brain.
So im like yeah, a lot of people like watching movies more than I do. I can understand that. But then there are people who are like "how can people not have watched this / have watched so few of these? Do they just not watch movies?!" And uh I mean kinda yeah, in my case. Not everyone likes watching movies?? From my perspective, I don't understand how you can enjoy sitting down and consuming all of One Story in 1-2 hour periods of time (excluding sequels and such, tho those still aren't the same as episodic things). But you don't see Me going around being like "how can so many people have watched these movies?! Do you have nothing else to do with your time?!" Or smth like that bc that would make me sound like an insane person lmao. Do you get what I'm saying
#speculation nation#that thing of movies arent for me outside of social settings (with rare exceptions. usually for anime movies)#but i understand that different people enjoy different things so i dont think it's odd at all if someone enjoys watching a lot of movies#even if i dont personally relate to that.#but there are some movie watchers who are so deep in their assumption that Everyone must love watching movies#and like. no? not really.#part of it is movies being hell for my attention span and another part of it is just that i dont like shorter stories like that#like in general. i dont really read short stories much bc i dont care for working to learn the characters and the world#just for one little blip of time. same with dnd campaigns. i dont care much for one-shots bc it takes so much to get into it#and then it's already over. i much prefer longform campaigns.#i'll read one-shot fanfics Sometimes but also i do prefer longfic. and me reading one-shots is bc i already know the characters at least#i LOVE long books. i LOVE long video games. video games especially bc u can spent 70+ hours or even hundreds of hours#just embracing and living in this world. getting to be Part of the story. i really really like that.#so yeah i'll watch episodic shows. usually anime but sometimes there will be a live action that catches my attention. sometimes.#bc i like having more bite-sized things for watching it and i like being able to get more immersed in it over time#i like growing to know the characters and see them develop and just. Get Them. i love seeing them have the space for that.#but one movie? one measly 1-2 hours? juggling a whole plot too? by the time i feel like i know the characters it's already over#and that's not even getting into the unpredictability of quality and how much i'll enjoy it#u expect me to go out on a limb every fuckin day to see if i'll enjoy the current day's movie or if it'll just feel like a waste of time?#no thanks. im gonna go watch 500+ episodes of naruto over months of chilling. or 100+ episodes of critical role#long things. things i know i like. things i can just put on while im relaxing. takes all the guessing and uncertainty out of it.#i barely like to watch 12 episode animes anymore man i just dont like putting in the effort to get to know new characters over & over again#there r a variety of reasons why i park my butt down in one or two fandoms and just Stay There for years#and my reluctance to part with characters i know and love and enjoy playing with is a major part of it.#i'll put those guys (gender neutral) into situations over and over again rather than spend my energy getting into new shit Any day.#and there is my mini-rant on how little i care for movies and short stories. 𫥠simply my preferences

Hi ! prompt idea : What if Zuko was armed during the first episode and was stranded with the water tribe while the avatar left with Katara and Sokka, Iroh on his trail for white lotus reasons.
Oh we are going to have us some FUN with "stranded with the water tribe", say no more.
---
Zuko was dripping, and steaming, and staring down two dozen women and their gaggle of small children, plus that old not-the-Avatar crone from earlier. They were all cowering away from him. Which was--
Good. It was good. If they were cowering, then they hadnât noticed how steam was not flames. He wasnât sure he could make flames, not after the arctic water heâd landed in, with that last sight of the Avatar glowing; not after surfacing under the ice pack, after swimming, after kicking slamming breaking through and his ship was gone and there was only ocean all around and
and heâd made it back to this pathetic little camp of the Southern Water Tribe, because that was the only place he knew for sure would have shelter, and he wasnât going to die just because they were all staring at him, even if felt like he would.
Even if the old not-the-Avatar woman could probably take him, right now. But she didnât know that.
Zuko pulled himself up, taller than her by at least a few inches, and blew steam from his nose.
âI am commandeering one of your huts,â he said. And added, because Uncle said even a prince should be gracious: âYou may choose which one.â
---
She choose her own.
...The only one without children that flames might scar, or younger women to catch a soldierâs interests.
Zuko sat by her fire and determinedly started struggling out of his wet clothes and she was still in here with him--
Zuko pulled one of her animal pelts over himself, and finished fighting off his clothes. When he stuck his head back out, cheeks still reddened from what was obviously the cold, she dropped a parka on his head.
âDry clothes, Your Highness,â she said.
The parka was much bigger than he was. He fell asleep hoping that the campâs men were on a long, long hunting trip.
---
He woke up again. Kanna tucked her favorite ulu knife away, newly sharpened, and stopped contemplating the alternative.
---
âI am commandeering a ship,â he said.
The crone led him across the village, all twenty paces of it, to a row of canoes.
âTake whichever one you want,â she said. âWill you need help getting it to the water?â
Zuko looked at the canoes. Looked at the ocean. Watched a leopard seal, easily the size of the largest canoe, dozing just past the ice his own ship had broken through the day before. It was frozen again, a great icy arrow pointing from the waves to the village, snow already starting to cover it over.
Beyond was blue sky and gray ocean and white ice, floating in blocks like stepping stones, like boulders, like cliffsides.
There wasnât even a hint of gray steel, or smoke. Or any land, besides what they were standing on.
He looked down at the canoes again. Somehow, they seemed even smaller.
âI, uh,â Zuko cleared his throat. âIâll require supplies. Before I go.â
---
They... did not have supplies. Not extra ones. This didnât stop them from trying to give him supplies, food and blankets and anything else he could think to ask for. But each blanket was a pelt hunted by someoneâs grandfather, had been inked with images and stories by someoneïżœïżœs mother, was the favorite of someoneâs husband or brother or uncle or cousin--
They couldnât go to the nearest market to replace things, here.
And when they talked about food, about what they could spare, they kept sneaking glances to their children, who were sneaking glances at Zuko from the huts, sticking their heads just over the snowy ledges like their fur-trimmed hoods would hide them. Their mothers and aunts shooed them away, and they crept back, like barnacle-crabs. Zuko glared, and they disappeared.
âWhen are your men coming back?â he asked. âTheyâre hunting, arenât they?â
Oh. So that was what they looked like, when they werenât trying to hide their hate.
---
Zuko wrapped himself up in the same blanket that night. It was printed inside with fine lines and images, telling a story he didnât know. He wondered whose favorite it was.
---
Kanna wondered how quickly heâd wakeâif heâd wakeâif she built the fire up with wet driftwood and tundra grass, if she had one of the younger girls boost up a child to plug the air hole, if she let the smoke draw its own blanket down over this fire child.
---
It was hard to know when to wake up, because the sun never set. So everyone was up before him, and they all had spears and clubs andâand nets, and trap lines, and snow googles with their single slat to protect the eyes from snow blindness. Zuko had seen those once, at the Ember Island Museum of Ethnography, where theyâd gone when it was too rainy for anything more exciting.
Oh. They were going hunting.
âGive me that,â Zuko said, and took a spear.
The women looked at him. One of them adjusted her googles.
âI can hunt,â he scowled.
He did not, in fact, know how to hunt.
---
âGive me that,â the Fire Prince said, and Kanna almost, almost gave him her ulu. Humans, like most animals, had an artery in their legs that would bleed them quick enough.
She kept skinning the rabbit-mink one of the women had snared.
âI can help,â he said, with less grace than most of their toddlers. Likely with the skinning skills of a toddler, too. She wasnât going to let their unwanted visitor ruin a perfectly good pelt.
âChop the meat,â she said, and gave him a different knife. âItâs dinner.â
â...This is really sharp,â he said a moment later, looking at the knife with some surprise.
âIs it,â said Kanna.
---
Things the Fire Prince was convinced he could do: hunt (until he realized he couldnât tell the tracks of a rabbit-mink from a leopard-rabbit apart); spear fish (at least he could dry himself); pack snow for an igloo (frustrated princes ran hot); ice fish (the prince was a problem that kept coming close to solving itself).
Things the Fire Prince could actually do: mince meat, increasingly finely; gather berries and herbs, once he stopped trying to crush them; dig roots, under toddler supervision; mend nets, after the intermediary step of learning to braid hair loopies.
âCanât I take him ice fishing again?â asked one of the women, as she watched Prince Zuko put as much apparent concentration into braiding her daughterâs hair as his people had into exterminating hers.
âWait,â said another woman, sitting up straight. âWait wait wait. I just had an idea.â
---
Three words: Infinite. Hot. Water.
---
Summer was coming to an end. The sun actually set, now, and the night was getting longer, and colder. The salmon-otter nets were mended and ready. The smoking racks were still full of cod-lemmings. The children were all a little older, the women all a little more used to doing both halves of their tribesâ chores; a little more used to not watching the horizon, waiting for help to come.
The Fire Prince was staring at the canoes again.
âAre you actually going to try leaving in one of those?â Kanna asked.
â...No.â
âCome on, then; someone needs to watch the kids while the women are hunting.â
She didnât leave him alone with them, of course. But she could have.
---
Elsewhere, the war continued.
The moon turned red, for a moment none could sleep through; they did not learn why.
The comet came and went, leaving their castaway prince laying on the beach, his breath fogging up into the night sky above him, as the energy crashed from his system as quickly as it had come. Above, lights began to dance in the sky; Zuko pulled his hood up, so none of those spiritsâchildren, dead too soonâgot any ideas about kicking his head off to be their ball.
The war had ended. The world didnât feel any different; no one in the south would know until spring came again.
---
Suffice it to say, Sokka and Katara were not prepared for this particular homecoming.
#Sokka: please stop calling my Gran-Gran by her first name. please.#Kanna: youâre right Sokka he can call me Gran-Gran#Sokka: THAT IS WORSE THAT IS SO MUCH WORSE#Meanwhile Hakoda: you adopted WHO#Kanna didnât ADOPT anyone thank-you-much she was very practically holding that boy for the fleet to use for ransom#why Hakoda#what would you have done if you had a Fire Prince#avatar the last airbender#atla#Zuko#Kanna#ficlet#(infinite hot water lady is ABSOLUTELY Tokloâs aunt)#(he looks to the prince looks to her and spontaneously invents the High Five)

choso kamo â„ïž playing with your gamer boyfriend.
mdni àšà§. choso is pathetic. reader calls choso 'puppy.' unprotected sex.

choso was hunched in his gaming chair, pressing away at the computer keys, eyes trained to the screen. his lips were jutted out in a cute pout, concentrating as the character on his screen slashed its swords at its opponent. and after one last mighty swish, they landed a final blow to their opposition and choso whooped at his victory â and admittedly while you thought it to be rather childish, you couldn't help smile at his boyish reaction.
"hah! take that, yuji!," he hollered into his headset and spun around in his chair, cheering to himself. you faintly heard yuji's voice on the other end, likely groaning about his loss to his brother.
you were sprawled on the bed, staring at your boyfriend with a look of amusement as you heard him tell his brother that he wanted to play another round. while normally you weren't one to impede on his down time, there was something that was slowly beginning to gnaw inside of you â and that was frustration.
nearly three hours had gone by since he had come back home and for almost the last two he had been stuck playing this game with yuji. when he had come home, he hadn't greeted you with anything more than a quick 'hi' and a peck to your lips before he dashed to his computer. truth be told, you weren't entirely annoyed at first since you had been in the kitchen preparing yourself a nice cup of hot cocoa and were planning on watching the new episode of the show you were currently watching. so you presumed that after an hour or so, he would have stopped and then gave you the attention you craved.
but as the clock ticked on, it seemed that your boyfriend was glued to his seat and the computer screen. you let out a small huff in exasperation, which to your surprise, choso had heard even through his headset. he turned to face you and he peered at you with those godforsaken puppy-dog eyes of his and whispered, "i'm sorry, baby. one last game okay?"
oh, why'd he have to be so cute?
you nodded and he turned back around, starting a new game with yuji. you sighed to yourself, tracing aimless shapes on the duvet beneath you. your mind began to wander, thinking about his soft lips on yours, trailing down to your jaw and your neck, to your breasts and stomach, and then landing right where you needed him most...
just then, an idea popped into your head!
you slowly sauntered over to his desk, gazing down at him with desire pooling in your eyes that reached down to your core. you could swear your panties must have already formed a little stain â from simply thinking about him too, no less. your thirst for him only grew tenfold as he bit his lip, fully absorbed in his game, and the veins on his hands had become prominent as he smashed down on the keys in front of him. you had to suppress yourself from letting a moan slip past your lips as you imagined his large fingers pumping in and out of you, coating it with your arousal.
he hadn't acknowledged you next to him yet, his eyes never leaving the screen. you hoped that what you were about to do next would get him to at least look your way. you climbed to sit on his lap, arms draping over his neck, legs dangling on each side of his own. for a moment, you just sat there, squirming a little bit to make yourself comfortable. once you were completely still, he planted a soft kiss to your cheek and said, "hi baby," under his breath.
you clung to him like a baby as you inhaled the remnants of his cologne on the back of his neck, eliciting a quiet moan out of you. unbeknownst to you, choso had heard that and he had to fight the blush that was beginning to tinge his cheeks.
you began littering his face with little pecks and muttering a few 'i miss you's in between each one. he smiled fondly, thinking how adorable it was that you seemed so clingy in this moment. "let me finish this game, princess," he whispered sweetly into your ears.
"i wasn't talking to you, idiot," he grumbled into his microphone.
that wasn't going to stop you, though. you continued to kiss him until you reached his neck. you nipped and then licked at his sweet spot a couple of times, hoping to get a reaction out of him. while he hadn't said anything, you could tell it was working because you could feel his growing erection from underneath you, rubbing lightly against your clothed pussy.
you stripped yourself off the t-shirt you were wearing, leaving you in just your lacey bra and panties. choso's eyes roamed over your body, swallowing thickly as he gazed at your breasts that were perked up so cutely beneath the bra. he had to sink his teeth into his bottom lip to silence himself as you so sensually, so teasingly began to grind yourself on him, the tent in his pants only growing bigger.
"baby, what are you doing?," he said, covering his microphone so that yuji wouldn't hear.
"what ever do you mean?," you asked, batting your eyelashes at him innocently. "i'm not doing anything," you drawled out as your hands slipped underneath his sweater all the way up to his nipples, grazing them softly.
choso let out a tiny whimper, back straightening as he leaned forward to rest his chin on your shoulder. "stop that," he scolded you quietly but you could tell he didn't really mean it. so that meant you could play with him a bit more â until he reached his breaking point.
your hands grabbed the waistband of his pants and boxers, pulling them down to let his cock spring free. it looked so pretty â throbbing pink tip with little beads of precum dripping down already. it seemed you weren't the only one seeking attention. your thumb lazily rubbed the tip of his cock, smearing the precum all over it. choso's face was tainted a bright pink hue, and he was biting so hard on his lip you were worried the poor boy would start bleeding.
you wrapped your fingers delicately around his cock, giving it a few agonisingly slow strokes as you left open mouth kisses on his cheeks. he shuddered under your touch, his hips unwittingly thrusting up every time your hands reached the base of his cock. the sight of his flushed face and his pulsing dick in your hands was driving you mad and you needed to feel him inside of you now.
pulling your panties to the side and lowering yourself onto his thick, long dick drew out a loud, salacious whine out of you. one that had his cock twitching inside your hot, gummy walls. "oh my gosh," he mouthed silently, his eyes rolling back a little as he tried to bottom out in you â the sweet, pathetic boy.
arms wrapped around his neck and breasts pressing flush against his chest, your hips rolled against his, revelling in the feeling of his dick stretching you out and lightly rubbing against your clit. your hands reached for his hair, tugging on them to keep you supported in his lap. you removed the headphones from one of his ears and whispered seductively, "i need you, puppy."
that was all he needed to throw his headphones away â not before telling yuji to log off â and grip your waist to ram himself up into you. the angle was so new to you but his cock was hitting you right where you needed, so deliciously, drawing out almost pornographic-like whines and moans out of you.
"is this what you wanted, hm?," he asked, peering up at you through hooded eyelids, pupils blown with lust, a line of drool trickling from the sides of his lips. you just nodded in response, mind too hazy to be thinking straight and about anything else except for your boyfriend's hands on your ass and his cock sliding in and out of you at a divine pace.
to the best of your abilities, you were bouncing up and down, trying to match his pace. the ever attentive boyfriend, he had noticed and had reluctantly slowed down so that you could move along with him. the squelching wet sounds your pussy made every time he thrust up into you was making it extremely difficult for him to hold back however. yet he did his best â he only ever wanted to please you and do exactly what you wanted.
you peered down at him, drinking in the fucked out expression of his â his eyelids fluttering, his mouth slightly agape, his stare never tearing away from your breasts bobbing in front of him. it made your walls clench around him tighter, cute moans and whimpers spilling out of your mouth.
as his groans and mewls grew louder, you thought of one last way to toy with your boy.
your hips had suddenly come to a halt, your chest heaving as you caught your breath. his movements had come to a stop too, his doe eyes looking at you pleadingly, lips turned into an adorable pout. "mm~ why are you stopping?," he whined. "please don't stop." you could tell from his eyes alone that he was begging for you to continue â in all honesty, he could move if he wanted to. but he always needed your approval first.
he had burrowed his face in between your breasts, giving you little, sloppy kisses. he kept repeating the word 'please' after every kiss, his eyes fixated on you. "c'mon baby please," he begged. "don't stop."
you cupped his face in your hands, looking at him coyly as you mused, "have you been a good puppy?" you brushed the few stray strands of hair that had fallen in front of his face, allowing you to goggle at the beauty of your poor, needy boy.
he nodded his head frantically, hands snaking its way up your back to hold you in a manner so tender that it had your heart flutter momentarily. tears were pricking at his lash line as you felt his cock twitch inside of you, trying to gain any sort of pleasure it could. he was whimpering so cutely that you could not keep up with the torture any longer. you leaned in and purred in his ear as you began to move your hips again, "tell me that you are."
"i'm a good puppy," he whimpered, thrusting into you sloppily and eagerly, the grip on your ass tighter than before which was sure to leave marks until tomorrow. "i'm your good puppy, right?", he asked so sweetly that you had to stifle a little giggle.
"yes you are," you mewled, grabbing a chunk of his hair and pulling it harshly as his cock slammed into you. your juices were coating him so tastefully, even his happy trail glistening with the slick of your arousal.
it didn't take long until you were rubbing your fingers on your clit and choso knew that that meant you were close. he ripped your hand away from your pussy only to replace it with his thumb that skilfully drew circles the way you liked it â you had taught him well, of course. "fuck~ 'm gonna cum," you whined, holding onto his shoulders to keep yourself steady.
"me too! fuck!," he groaned, his hips rutting into you faster, thumb continuing to rub on your clit.
"c-cum inside me, puppy," you whimpered, "please."
who was he to deny his beautiful girlfriend what she wanted?
after just a few more thrusts, he was shooting hot ropes of cum inside your velvety, syrupy walls. your own orgasm soon washed over you, your legs shaking as you rode out your high and walls squeezing every last drop he had to offer.
your body slumped over choso's, both of you taking a moment to compose yourselves. after a few moments, he asked you, "what was that about?"
"i was... feeling needy," you admitted, burying your face in his neck to hide your pink tainted cheeks.
he chuckled at your response, patting down your hair gently. he placed his hands on your hips, caressing your sides as he said in a low voice, "i'm sorry for neglecting you."
before you could even have a chance to reply, he rose to his feet, carrying you in his arms. he shimmied off his pants that had bunched up by his feet and brought you over to the bed, laying you down softly. his frame remained above you, his cock still hard inside you and as his fingers grazed over your thighs, he whispered, "let me make it up to you."
