Also after being rejected by Lucy Quincey sends a telegram to Arthur for a reunion and that if he wants to call Jack over too which shows they are the closest. Plus in the Asylm, Quincey and Arthur kept going to missions together. Jonathan would go alone to investigate and the doctors were always together doing their thing.
Yeah, Quincey immediately reaches out to Arthur after the proposals, and of course later in the story Arthur asks Quincey to check on Lucy in his stead, not to mention all the missions you mention above. Their friendship isn't as foregrounded in the text as Arthur's friendship with Jack (for instance, Jack being there for Lucy's death, comforting him, going in to look at Lucy's body together because Arthur notes that Jack loved her too), but it's a steady constant beneath everything in Arthur's life. Gah, I love them.

There is a difference between supporting a terrorist organization and a country defending itself after a brutal act of war. Yes, things were tense, but hamas has clearly made it his purpose to take Israel and kill all Jews. If you keep supporting hamas at this point, you are antisemitic, no questionability.
CBC has decided to not keep what little journalistic integrity they still have and won't call the act of terrorism what it is without quotes now. It's "poltical" now to call a terrorist attack what it is. This TERROIST ATTACK, killed 2000 people after a major holiday, in the middle of the night men, women, children, babies, newborns... Citizens jumping out of their beds, turning back into soldier, dying to save their neighbours. Yet, a conflict that happened in India was called a "...horrible act of terroism..." without any quotes. Here's some proof of how little journalism is actual unbiased. Source. . Source TV fails us all. https://torontosun-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/cbcs-arguments-for-not-calling-hamas-a-terror-group-are-weak/wcm/afde9ee1-3ac6-4243-b104-9f949a9bf181/amp/?amp_gsa=1&amp_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQIUAKwASCAAgM%3D#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=16981252683198&csi=1&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Ftorontosun.com%2Fopinion%2Fcolumnists%2Fcbcs-arguments-for-not-calling-hamas-a-terror-group-are-weak

Israel did NOT blow up the hospital in Gaza. It has been confirmed by BOTH SIDES. There was a ton of footage maintained from the general that shows Israeli soldiers trying to save what lives they could, as they also died in the explosion. It was again, hamas the TERROIST! TO HIS OWN PEOPLE WHAT A SUPRISE?!
Here is an article on that: https://www.wired.com/story/al-ahli-baptist-hospital-explosion-disinformation-osint/
Many times my people and Israel have been tried to be wiped out. We survived almost the entire Roman Empire, and were a thorn in Rome's side. After many failed attempts, Israel was taken by Titus who went out of his way to make all forces hit Israel. Then Titus gave it the name philistines (which means weak/weakness, while Israel means Lion).
Israel was an established country for 40 years before, without their consent, and to give up land the same people we gave asylm to in the 1920's, and now want to actively destroy you? Did deeper than the first fucking google article dumbasses, or past TV which has been an unreliable source more and more for decades.
There is no history of a palistine before it became a state in 1988. Before that they lived in Syria, Jordan and Egypt. You want some history, okay, just for proof here it if FROM THE UNITED NATIONS (UN):
Israel has belonged to Jewish people since Torah. A book that predates both religions that seem to side to destroy Jews. Both have an active agenda. To get rid of us and our land.
Israeli Soldiers are taught to try to preserve all life, but protect innocent no matter the side.
Hamas does not care about his citizens, they are starving, thirsty, and sick. If he thought about them why did he not make sure he would be able to have infrastructure to make sure his people could eat, drink, have power, medical supplies, fossil fuels? He didn't think about them, he never does, and never has. His goal is to destroy Israel and kill every single Jew.
We are people too, us Jews, Israelis. Why are we always evil for wanting to exist and wanting what should belong to us?
People tell me I "don't know the history of the area". I do. I know a lot more than 99% of people who asked. I could talk for hours about both sides history (most of it Israeli because it was our G-d given, ancestral birthright).
Do you not think we want and deserve a place to go that isn't dominated by the three top biggest religions in the world, ours not even being close to those. (Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism)
I know way more than this but I'm tired of your antisemitism USA especially. And shame on you for not seeing this clearly.
Britian, it's illegal to protest for hamas in the streets, as it should be everywhere.
It's funny it went from Islamaphobia from 2001 to Oct. 2023 to antisemitism and wanted genocide real quick. You do realize this is the ONLY PLACE FOR JEWISH PEOPLE! We want what is rightfully ours!
Tumblr media
With all that said I do not like war, I despise innocent people dying for just where they live. I want peace in the land, and everyone that lives there.
Am Yisrael Chai!
May Hashem bring peace to the land and ALL who dwell there. Strengthen the hands.of our Holy defenders and May the crown of victory be place upon them.
-(paraphrased) Avianu Shebashamim

This is the inside of the insert for a comp I have called Radio Asylm, Vol. 1, which I could not find on Discogs. If I recall correctly I got it out of the dollar bin at Philly Aids Thrift. It's copyrighted to 1997-98.
Just thought this art looked sick.

“Runaway Train” By Soul Asylm – Poem In Song
“Runaway Train” By Soul Asylum – Poem is Another of my Favorite Songs in a Poem that reminds me of the time flies.   Call you up in the middle of the night There are nightfalls you have to fight. Like a firefly without a light Flame kills the moth because it’s bright. You were there like a blowtorch burning Hope makes people fools that are hurting. I was a key that could use a little turning But…

Wakanda Forever My Review
Costume department killed it only complaint I got are Namors shorts should have been woven or something. Looked cheap next to the rest of his garb.
Got lots of bones to pick on the world building for Namors kingdom.
Loved the Mayan touches but it still doesn't explain how they are any sort of threat to Wakanda. Are they sirens? Is this magic or is this tech? The only things they had were super soldiers, vibranian, some water bombs. Didn't see anything high tech. Except the admitedly awesome Sun. Overall underwhelming.
Wakanda has tractor beams, can go invisible, force field shields, force fields on thier clothing, vibranian clothing, blasters in general a lot of cool shit.
Wakanda was threatened and we didn't see an increase in security or an increase in patrols not a single tech attempt to locate or fix security issues. Only tech fix we got was we printed the plant? And let's make a plane sauna to fight only one bad guy not the army. Fight scenes were fun but unmemorable.
Namorians how does the shell contact work, never show/explain how they make it past the shields, how do they miss an orca? "BIG MAGIC FISH?!?!"
It was unimaginative. Lots of concept art come to life, no story to back it up.
The queen should not have been killed. I think the Genera should be given a dressing down and then die protecting the princess. Making it about taking care of her subjects and stepping up despite her grief.
When Shuri fights Namor she's mostly losing badly. But when she does win I would have preferred she tore out all 4 of his wings then let him go crawling back. They made a big deal about her anger and grief the entire movie and they couldn't follow through? If your gunna throw killmonger at me then it should have been eliminating the threat without mercy. Why can't she be queen and the black panther?
This movie would have made more sense if we just removed Wakanda entirely and had it Riri finds out her science project was stolen by the government when namor comes to kill/kidnap her. She gets kidnapped to thier kingdom where she gathers intelligence as they try and gather info about how much the surface knows. Ends with her escaping and seeking asylm with Wakanda due to thier access to vibranium. It would have been a good build up and give us time and world building with the Namorians.
Why did Namor make Riri a Wakanda problem? Then intercept? How would they know to intercept and if they did why did they pick a fight with Wakanda at all? Were they just waiting under all the bridges? How did they know the scientist was Riri? Or that Riri was the one in the suit? If they could gather that intelligence why poke the Wakanda beehive.
Why did Namor wait 200+ years to pick a fight with the surface world and then over focus on Wakanda?
Bf makes a new point most technologiçal advanced society in the world and picks a fight in the middle of the ocean ( home ground ) on a glorified companion cube/yacht with no built in guns no electric fencing. Nada just a subwoofer slapped on the bottom of the boat.

Electric Experiment: Failed
-I got what the bugs I was with called ‘electrocuted’ today. They zapped me pretty good, I’m gonna be twitching for awhile...almost passed out as they ‘amped up’ the zapping. But I didn’t though! Guess playing with those Shinx was a good thing after all....I miss Bertha though...Fix and Lex...Poppy...where is Poppy? Why hasn’t she found me yet? I’m gonna get bored if she doesn’t find me soon. None of these Humans can understand me and I’m beginning to get the hang of how the Pokemon are talking. So I guess that’s good.-

Hunting the Ghost
St. Vincent’s Orphan Asylum in New Orleans is rumored to be one of the cities most haunted buildings. Now parts of the building are used as a hostel and hotel, but they do allow ghost hunters in at night to the unoccupied part of the building. We used EMF readers, rem pods, and other equipment to try to find the spirits within the building. We also used a cell phone app called Echovox to try to…

Now- I don’t know if defending Gaston in the original animated Disney Beauty and the Beast is still a thing, but I’m gonna say this once and say this now... Gaston is FAR from a “good man who just wanted to sleep with Belle.” I’m tired of people saying he was the misunderstood good guy.
Exhibit A: We all know Gaston was arrogant. “So what?” you might say. Well you see- he only wanted to marry Belle because “she’s the most beautiful girl in town. That makes her the best! Abd don’t I deserve the best?” From his next lines... we can assume he does kind of have the hots for Belle. But we also hear from the other villagers that they think she is beautiful and of course- everyone in town loves Gaston therefore... that’s why Gaston thinks Belle should be his prize. He sees her as a token for his beauty. Think of it as a popular boy and popular girl situation. Not entirely that bad, but kind of some red flags. Like- he only likes her for her beauty and the fact everyone else thinks she’s beautiful.
Exhibit B: He doesn’t support her interests or cares. We see this when he and Belle first interact on screen where he takes her book, mocks her for liking it (like most of the villagers, but they’re more discreet about it) then tosses the book into a mud puddle before practically saying “You should be more interested in me.” He’s also expressed much distaste for Belle’s father, her only living relative we know of, calling him crazy and even trying to put him in an insane asylm because Belle wouldn’t marry him (big red flag I will cover again). He often projects his interests on Belle and interests for Belle on to Belle like wanting her to bear 7 boys and massage his feet. Every given moment he is with Belle he mocks what she wants and like and tells her what he wants from her and what he likes. That’s not- no. I would not (at least I hope I wouldn’t) want to date a man- or woman for that matter- any person who tells me how they want me to be and that I’m pathetic for liking what I like and not them. Big... Red flag.
Exhibit C:  Biggest red flag- He’s forceful. Very forceful. When he was going to propose to Belle, he already had a wedding ceremony set up outside. Say what you want about French culture in the 1700′s or whatever time it was, but that’s a bit sudden for someone who isn’t living in Spartan times. And of course- in that same scene we see Gaston not just invite himself in wearing muddy boots he put right on Belle’s favorite book she got to keep (the same one he threw in the mud). Oh no... he backed Belle into corners while projecting his interests, about ready to force her out the door, even pinning her to said door. Now I understand some people find that sexy... Belle sure didn’t.  She said no and nervously tried to get away a few times. Sure- she was strong and smart enough to give him a slip into a mud puddle, but that sure didn’t stop his temper (take out usually on his loyal friend).  You still find him innocent? Need I remind you that the man’s next resort after moping like the loser he really is was to PUT HER FATHER IN A MENTAL ASYLUM!!! Not just because he was ranting off about some beast he saw- no, that was part of the excuse. It was blackmail to get Belle to marry him. By threatening to take away the one person she truly cares about and truly cared about her (other than maybe the bookseller and maybe a couple other villagers like the baker), he was going to force her to pick Gaston or her closest family. But what Gaston didn’t expect was there to be a beast. Was he worried about the village that adored him now that it existed? Was he worried about Belle’s mental state after hearing her say the Beast was kind and was stuck with her? Was he worried about how he kidnapped her father? Hahaha- after trying to throw said father into a mental asylum if Belle didn’t marry him? Of course not. In fact, I remember him asking something like, “Wait, do you actually have feelings for this beast?” Then the look on his face changed as he rallied up everyone’s fear and forced 50 Frenchmen to the castle where either they would die or the Beast would be unjustifiably murdered by the people he lied to. He even when fighting the Beast eggs him on with the line “What’s wrong, Beast?! To gentle and kind to fight back?!”
He sees Belle as his prize. He’ll sacrifice anything for that prize. Her family, her happiness, whatever she cares about that isn’t him. And because everyone likes him for his macho attitude and looks, he has influence over the people whom he could sacrifice to a hungry beast as long as it means he gets is prize. And they’re all on board with him marrying Belle (well- except for the triplet ladies who adore him)- they all probably saw it coming- heck even Belle’s father was like, “Why aren’t you going out with that Gaston fellow? Isn’t he nice?” (at least I think he said something like that. Could’ve sworn he did...). Everyone probably thought those two would settle down- Gaston’ll get her eventually. And Gaston was determined to do anything to get her... anything that would force her to be a part of his ideal life. And what about the Beast?
- The Beast did trap Belle’s father, but the father did enter unannounced. The servants were nice to him, but the Beast had an uncontrollable temper. Granted, he may’ve been transformed into a Beast when he was 12 because he had apparently no parents around and acted angry and selfish to the wrong person.
-Belle said she’d take his place instead to which the servants (granted wanted to be free from the curse but were also pretty nice) insisted he give better living conditions to.
-When Belle ran away (respectively frightened after he got mad about the rose which he told her indirectly to stay way from) he saved her from being attacked by wolves.
- When he got mad at her for trying to help, Belle got mad back (which is granted unhealthy for starting a relationship) it made him stop and rethink things.
- Despite people claiming it to be Stockholm Syndrome, the Beast and Belle got to know each other and try to understand one another. When the Beast couldn’t eat with a spoon, she decided not to eat with a spoon. He let her teach him how to get birds to eat out of his hand and playfully had a snowball fight where he lost.
-In return for Belle’s kindness, the servants gave her fancy dresses and he gave her his Library and let her read to him. Note that Belle loves reading and in a holiday special he got mad he got a storybook for his birthday. Something’s there that wasn’t there before ;-)
- When Belle missed the outside, he gave her his only window outside.
- When Belle saw her father in danger, he let her go, despite if it benefitted him (granted the servants were a bit peeved because it affects them too).
-He didn’t really fight Gaston. He asked why Belle came back after he freed her.
I mean- both men have their ups and downs (kind of some crazy downs) on why Belle should not be with either of them. But would you rather have a person treat you like you’re their trophy and everything you do reflects their ideals or someone who tries to understand you and grows from the person they were to someone who understands and tries caring about what you think?
Think Gaston would have eventually listened to Belle read a story book? Or the Beast never could control his temper? Go ahead. Tell me. I know where I stand
