Big Bang theory:-
Big Bang Theory theme song by Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies
youtube
// Cool theme and tv series that appealed to my geek side.
'The show originally centered on five characters living in Pasadena, California: Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), both physicists at Caltech, who share an apartment; Penny (Kaley Cuoco), a waitress and aspiring actress who lives across the hall; and Leonard and Sheldon's similarly geeky and socially awkward friends and coworkers, aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar).[4][5] Over time, supporting characters were promoted to starring roles, including neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik), microbiologist Bernadette Rostenkowski (Melissa Rauch), and comic book store owner Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman)"
(If think about it, it was like the friends tv show but with geeks)

I saw someone in the comments of my Tales of the TARDIS uploads bitching about how every companion ends up in a position of authority so here's me going through every televised companion, what occupation they ended up with after leaving the Doctor, and then analyzing whether there is an uncalled for number of authority positions in the list. As this is televised companions only I will be prioritizing the canon of televised stories. Here we go:
Ian Chesterton: Professor at the University of Cambridge (Death of the Doctor)
Barbara Wright: Professor at the University of Cambridge (Death of the Doctor)
Susan Foreman: Member of the Earth Council world government (Audio: An Earthly Child), though this is contradicted by some other stories
Vicki Pallister: Farmer (Tales of the TARDIS)
Steven Taylor: King (Tales of the TARDIS)
Katarina: N/A
Sara Kingdom: N/A
Polly Wright: Co-running an orphanage (Death of the Doctor)
Ben Jackson: Co-running an orphanage (Death of the Doctor)
Jamie McCrimmon: There are way too many sources for him and none of them definitive; the Tales of the TARDIS episode he appears in does not confirm what he got up to, but does decanonize certain other sources such as The World Shapers
Victoria Waterfield: Head of New World University (Some home video called Downtime?)
Zoe Heriot: President, presumably of Earth (Tales of the TARDIS)
Liz Shaw: Multiple contradicting sources: includes but not limited to doing scientific research, teaching as a professor, or running P.R.o.B.e. (don't ask me what that is, I'm not deep enough down the rabbit hole yet)
Jo Grant: Climate activist (Death of the Doctor, multiple other sources)
Sarah Jane Smith: Reporter, defender of Earth (School Reunion, all of The Sarah Jane Adventures)
Harry Sullivan: This man's EU canon is a mess but we know at the very least that he stayed with UNIT for a while as a scientist (The Zygon Invasion)
Leela: Bodyguard (Gallifrey audios)
Romana: President of Gallifrey (Gallifrey audios)
Adric: N/A
Nyssa: Scientist/medical researcher on Termius (Terminus, multiple other audios), but she eventually returned to Earth, occupation unknown (Tales of the TARDIS)
Tegan: Airline attendant (multiple EU sources), later activist (Power of the Doctor)
Turlough: Astrophysicist (Turlough and the Earthlink Dilemma)
Kamelion: N/A
Peri: Canonically multiple endings including brain death, talk show host, botanist, Queen of Krontep, married to Yrcanos in multiple different arrangements ranging from happily to unhappily (Mindwarp, Peri and the Piscon Paradox, Tales of the TARDIS, lots of other audios and books too, sheesh)
Mel: Unknown (multiple EU endings have been decanonized by Power of the Doctor)
Ace: CEO of A Charitable Earth (Death of the Doctor, At Childhood's End, Power of the Doctor)
Grace: Copyright hell
Chang Lee: Copyright hell
Rose Tyler: Marital bliss (Journey's End)
Mickey Smith: UNIT Agent (End of Time)
Martha Jones: UNIT Agent (End of Time)
Donna Noble: I'm posting this a week before the first of the 60th Anniversary Specials, so... TBD?
Amy Pond: Novelist (Angels Take Manhattan, The Bells of Saint John)
Rory Pond Williams: Not 100% determined but presumably nurse (Angels Take Manhattan, misc. EU sources)
Clara Oswald: Traveling the universe with her immortal girlfriend, also technically N/A (Hell Bent, Twice Upon A Time)
Bill Potts: See prior entry, crazy how that happened twice, huh (Twice Upon A Time)
Nardole: Implied to have ended up a farmer (The Doctor Falls, Twice Upon A Time)
Yasmin Khan: Presumably still a cop, unfortunately (Power of the Doctor)
Ryan Sinclair: Unknown, too recent, implied to have been studying to be a mechanic (Revolution of the Daleks)
Graham O'Brien: Presumably still a bus driver, also head of the companions group that never got an official name but we all agreed to call it Companions Anonymous (Power of the Doctor)
Dan Lewis: Presumably still unemployed and volunteering (Power of the Doctor)
Okay. Phew. That's all of them.
So, that's 41, not including K9 (there's too many K9s running around, sorry, also he's a robot dog.) Let's cut Katarina and Sara Kingdom, who I only really included to flex. That's 39. Okay, now let's cut Adric and Kamelion, who died before they could have a post-TARDIS career, as well as Grace and Chang Lee because c'mon, you need to actually travel in the TARDIS before you can have a post-TARDIS career. Now we're down to 35 companions.
Companions in a position of high authority, not just an expert in their field or whatever but with governmental authority are: Susan (choosing the specific EU canon where she's on the Earth Council), Steven, Zoe, Romana, Peri, and... oh wait, that's it! Just those five! And three of them are from sources that aren't the main show episodes! Considering that fiction usually follows interesting people rather than the average person, and both the Doctor and the TARDIS are picky about who they let on board, I'd say that 5/35 is a perfectly reasonable figure. Some people just want to complain.
#doctor who#all the companions#the televised ones anyway#no I'm NOT tagging all of them#if you're wondering why I didn't try too hard to figure out an ending for Mel: don't worry about it#if I got any of my facts wrong here: I humbly invite you to write a massive wall of text schooling me on Who lore#no seriously#do it#I would be honored#I ALMOST FORGOT HARRY SULLIVAN#I am so sorry Harry Sullivan I love you so much please forgive me#doctor who canon#doctor who extended universe#doctor who eu#the whoniverse#edited to add nardole#I'm so sorry nardole

Can art change society? – Ai Weiwei and Anish Kapoor
Artist and activist Ai Weiwei and abstract sculptor Anish Kapoor on the changing role of art in today’s world.
Ai Weiwei is one of the world’s most influential living artists and activists, known for addressing human rights and freedom of expression issues through his work. His memoir, 1000 Years of Joy and Sorrows, shares his family story of growing up in China.
Sculptor and installation artist Anish Kapoor has created large-scale artworks across the globe that challenge us to engage subjectively with them, including Cloud Gate in Chicago and the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London.
The two global icons compare notes on freedom of expression, how art can challenge power, and what subversive art looks like today. Amy Sedaris, Gary Gulman and Paul F. Tompkins.
(Was too far away to get good pics…)
We had a lot less busy summer than usual (well besides summers during COVID times), but in September, in the span of a week, we saw three events. Two of them I’ll talk about here.
The first was a recording of the national radio show, Live Wire. But I’d like to start with talking about the dinner ahead of time. We had a delicious meal at a Vietnamese place called Thom, right next to the Alberta Theatre. I highly recommend. Very good food. Anyway, while we were there a woman was sitting with a couple. The restaurant is small, but regardless this woman was obnoxiously loud and talkative. The way she talked she sounded very dumb and needy. My girlfriend and I finished our meal without even talking to each other because the woman was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves think. Now my brain is very sensitive to this type of thing (piercing hyper frequencies) but the fact that it kept my girlfriend quiet is pretty telling, because she’s always talking. So we finished, bellies full, left, and went to the theater nearby. We were very excited because it was a very unique night of guests. Along with two great comedians (Gulman and Tompkins) we also wanted to attend it because it included one of our favorite local bands (Family Worship Center). There was a fourth guest as well, a woman that we had never heard of. Surely with this line up of quirky guests we would enjoy her too, especially considering she was an astrophysicist. The fourth guest? Sarafina El-Badry Nance - The obnoxious woman from the restaurant. Since her voice was painful to my brain I had to exit during her interview, and while I was standing out back Paul F. Tompkins walked by me, which was a little startling considering I spend a couple of hours a day listening to podcasts and I’ve heard him speak for hundreds of hours. But back to the rest of it. There was a house band that intro’d the event with a performance of Radio Radio by Elvis Costello, the female drummer doing the vocals. It was great. The comedians also were great, but my favorite part was Paul F. Tompkins in the back right behind us, during Gary Gulman’s set laughing with that great recognizable laugh that I’ve heard a million times before (but I’d never heard it in person like this, and at one of my favorite comedians). I think it was Tompkins first time hearing Gulman, but I could be wrong.
The second event, five days later, was an evening with Amy Sedaris, and we took the Thirteen Year Old with us because she loves the show At Home with Amy Sedaris.
This week was pretty cool for me because all of the three mentioned comedians are some of my favorites.
Amy is legend to me and one of my all-time biggest crushes.
Gary Gulman is a top five for me in regards to best stand up comedians I’ve seen live, out of hundreds.
Paul F. Tompkins is on numerous podcasts I listen to and on some of the funniest episodes of one of the funniest podcasts I’ve ever heard (Comedy Bang Bang), and of course from the classic Mr. Show…
A good week…

July 1 Zodiac - Full Horoscope Personality
Despite the fact that his psyche is exceptionally dynamic, his life desires are not perfect. They are delicate individuals, frequently uncertain, attached to travel and change, with somewhat unobtrusive inclinations. Despite the fact that they can be smooth, they have a somewhat unfortunate disposition. Their heart is loaded up with natural goodness. They are not forceful by any stretch of the imagination, some of the time in any event, lacking fearlessness; nonetheless, his life is bountiful in acts of kindness. They can accomplish extraordinary things in an unassuming manner, without pushing others. They resemble a low rich mountain that bears noteworthy natural product, while the encompassing high mountains stay vain. They appreciate request and tidiness. They concentrate on regulation with energy and can become gifted legal advisors or brilliant analysts. Since they are pragmatic individuals, they can track down their direction throughout everyday life. They are persevering and economical. It happens that they like cash excessively and go all out to get it. As has been said, they are very dedicated, however the aftereffects of that work won't shock. Disregarding everything, gradually their understanding and moderation will permit them to understand their fantasies. Karma looks favorably upon them particularly in the second piece of their life. Their life frequently goes so that their kin are not kind to them, endangering them of mistaken assumptions. Being conceived today offers just a little opportunity for distinction. In any case, an individual brought into the world on this day will achieve more than his humble yet stable desires suggest. July 1 Zodiac - Full Horoscope Personality

Black hole | Good news from the stars
“As I am finishing this book, I learn that a black hole has been spotted in a distant galaxy which, instead of swallowing up the stars, creates them,” explains Roxane Desjardins on the back cover of Black holea work bathed in this blinding light, specific to a metamorphosis. Posted at 4:00 p.m. In January 2022, astrophysicist Amy Reines and her colleagues at Montana State University announced…

i would like to start of by saying that i would love any type of discourse. as long as you remain respectful, we can talk about anything you’d like. regardless of whether i agree with you or not, by nature, i am a person who values the opinions of others if they are substantiated with reason.
disclaimer; supporting a statement someone has made does not mean i support with their views over all nor agree with anything they think or say outside of that specific statement.
—
who am i
🗯️
a feminist. i am a feminist, maybe radical-aligned, however, i do hold opinions that those on the more radical side may not, or maybe even those in the middle, on the right, who knows.
- i do not support men’s rights. this men’s rights movement is completely and utterly bullshit, and i explain my reasoning further in this post.
- i love evil women. i am an evil woman, even. the love quinn-amy dunne type of girls are welcome here; i support you.
🗯️
a scholar. i am homeschooled right now with dreams of becoming an astrophysicist — or a diplomat, but i lean toward physics in the stars. i love writing, i have dreams of being an author, and i have many pieces i am working on, but it’s not something i’ll put all my eggs in one basket for.
🗯️
a woman. above all else, i am a woman. i will do everything in my power to protect women, to empower women on the basis that they are women, and to help women achieve their dreams, no matter how big or how small my difference will be, i will leave one.

okay sorry for the late response!!! but here's the yap (be ready for bad grammar. lets hope I at least got everyone's name correctly spelled. and beware this is kind of long.) also beware lots of parenthesis:
basically its a sitcom from the late 2000s-early 2010s about these guys who work at a university in California. they work in the science department and they are the 'nerdy social outcasts I watch sci-fi' kind of guys. basically the point of the show is they are trying to get girls but they are losers so they don't. (but they do eventually I guess.)
heres a quick rundown on the characters (I've watched like half of the show so I think?? I have them down pretty much but I may have forgotten things so)(also sorry if any of these descriptions are offensive, they are just 'in a nutshell' type paragraphs, and are based on what the show represents them as, being rude or offensive is NOT my intent)
Leonard Hofstadter. i'm pretty sure he's supposed to be the most normal and level-headed one out of the entire group, but still weird.(because if he was normal why would he be a main character) I think he's the first one to get a girlfriend. idk if this is important but he is an experimental physicist. (okay yeah not much to say about him)
Sheldon Cooper. he is Leonard's roommate. he is very intelligent and I'm just going to flat out and say this: he is autistic. it is never stated that he is but it is very obvious that was the intent. he is probably the most "weird" out of the whole group. he comes up with contracts called '[topic] agreements.' (ex. 'roommate agreement') he has a specific 'spot' on the couch that he gets fussy if you sit in it. the list goes on but you get it. (he also scared off multiple roommates with this behavior) (I would also say he is aro/ace but you know with these types of shows they have to have love interests so whatever...) he is a theoretical physicist and I think(??) won a Nobel prize in the show?? (I wouldn't know I didn't finish it) was raised in Texas and graduated high school at 11. (seeing from what I have given you you can assume why there is a whole show based on his childhood. PS it is way better than the big bang theory.)
Howard Wolowitz. scrawny, turtleneck-wearing guy who still lives with his mom. tries to hit on girls but is actually just creepy. (I also believe he is Jewish but I don't know if that is relevant) he is an engineer (the space kind. don't know what those are called. he has been to space before. Sheldon makes fun of him for being an engineer bc Sheldon thinks he's better than everyone)
Raj Koothrappali. he is Indian and in the first couple seasons has a problem where he can't talk to ["pretty"] women unless drunk. he eventually overcomes this, though. he is an astrophysicist. also If I'm correct his parents are rich (??)
now onto the girls!
Penny Teller (?? idk about the last name I had to search for one because its never really said and the first Google results only showed her name AFTER she got married.) she is Leonard and Sheldon's neighbor. she is the token blonde "hot" and "not smart" one in the group. she is from nebraska, wants to be an actress, and works at the cheesecake factory. she has a history of toxic boyfriends. she eventually ends up with Leonard, though.
Bernadette Rostenkowski. she is blonde, short, and feisty. she is a scientist and works in microbiology. she ends up marrying Howard, getting him out of his mom's house.
Amy Farrah Fowler. (okay sorry if this one sounds mean I don't like her that much) she is a neuroscientist. guess who's love interest she is!!! that's right. Sheldon's. she is one of those "weird' girls who never really had a boyfriend but read a bunch of romance novels and stuff and dreams of having one. she eventually finds this in Sheldon. (yes, yes I know its for his character development, but I don't like the way they went about it. and Im not going to say anything else about her because I really dont)
(I am also pretty sure Raj gets a love interest but I don't know anything about her because I haven't gotten there yet and probably never will)
ok rant time. my least favorite episode out of the episodes I've watched is the episode where they have a fake prom (well not fake but not a high school one) because all of the boys never got one (I am pretty sure the girls didn't either, besides for Penny obviously.) (they didn't get one because they either didn't go or went without a date which made it inadequate I guess?? also Sheldon was like 10-11 so he didnt either but I don't think he cared) anyway, everyone goes with their respective dates (I forgot if Raj had a date) and its great and all, except for like half the episode everyone (well idk if everyone but at leas Leonard and Penny) were like "Sheldon!! you know what usually happens after prom, right??" (obviously insinuating coitus.) okay and I don't remember the rest, I think Amy tells Sheldon something along the lines of: "well Sheldon you don't have to, I would want to do that with you but I guess I'll just have to wait until you are ready." or something like that.
ANYWAYYY, TLDR(not really) I think people don't like the show because the humor is outdated. (meaning it can be ableist and misogynistic at times.)
personally, after watching Young Sheldon I don't really like this show as much. okay yeah enough about Young Sheldon but I'm just saying its popular for a reason. also apologies to anyone who had to scroll through all of this.
okay that was my yap goodnight. (image of characters under the cut)
left to right standing up: Raj (Indian man wearing the collared shirt, sweater vest, and cyan jacket, looking in the distance), Bernadette (blonde with glasses, on the phone), Amy (brunette with glasses)
left to right sitting: Penny (blonde looking bored/annoyed), Sheldon (blue shirt looking very annoyed at something), Howard (guy with the bowl cut, computer, and 3D/anaglyph glasses) Leonard (guy sitting on the arm of the couch with a book, wearing glasses)
heeyyyyyyyyy
Hi marzzy! :D
Oh fuck I just realized I never asked
How are youuuuuu :3

'So,' said Major Surikov, decisively, 'we know why I want to go on this expedition. But why do you want to go?' The Master poured the tea from the metal pot. 'Because we need to take the fight to the enemy, he said. 'He's there. On that mountain. I'm convinced that it's his base of operations. He's using what's inside it against us. Against me.'
Oof. I always figured that maybe Eleven had nicked Amy’s (misdiagnosed) schizophrenia meds, got the TARDIS to dupe them, and that maybe that’s why the ugh marked increase in issues occurred when he was separated from the TARDIS on Christmas. Thought it adds a nice symmetry to the characters And the whole ‘I’m not delusional but my imaginary friend is’ thing. Think, uh, somethings to do with that might have to be in play in the Amy AU too with this guy.
They could poison the mind, too. I recall a violent dispute between my clan and that of the next province. A water war. Each laid claim to the resources of the River Ahn. Our clan won that war without a single burning. We offered them food for the winter, but we spiced it with seeds from inside the mountain. They ate them and forgot the river. Literally forgot it. I remember swimming in the Ahn as a child and calling out to people on the other side. None of them could see I was there.'
*Division alarm bells blaring*
Also given her own mirroring with all this, love that this is about a River even if that wasn’t intentional.
The Master was delighted by K'vo's speech. It filled him with a monstrous enthusiasm. It made him feel ambitious and powerful; the way he'd felt when he'd watched that pompous Mr McDermott drown in a plastic armchair, or when he'd stuffed that dull little astrophysicist into his own lunchbox. He could see that it had wrought a similar effect on the Major.
The propagander becoming the propaganded. The student has become the Master if you will.

An Enchanted Evening(Wintershock)
“I hear Pepper and Tony are throwing another Disney bash. You excited?”
Darcy looked up from her laptop as Clint stuck his head in her office to deliver the news. It never failed, if something interesting was happening, he’d be stopping by to discuss it. He was worse than her great aunts when it came to gossip, Darcy thought fondly.
“Yeah, but I’ll have to find a date. I don’t wanna be Giselle without a Robert, unless I can get Jane to go with me. She loves going as the evil queen.”
Clint looked confused.
“I thought you and Barnes were an item. I see you together all the time, looking all cozy.”
“Appearances can be deceiving, Clint,” Darcy sighed. “He doesn’t seem to want anything more than friendship right now. But he is pretty great at the whole friend thing.”
“If he did want more, would you go out with him?” Clint pressed, watching her searchingly.
“Totally,” Darcy admitted, knowing better than to lie to him. “But don’t you dare interfere and ruin this for me. I don’t want to push him away after how long it took me to get him to warm up to me.”
Bucky had been very skittish when he’d first arrived and Darcy tried the technique she’d used when befriending neighborhood feral cats: kept her distance while offering friendly greetings and looking as non-threatening as possible, left plentiful treats around, and cracked ridiculous jokes in his hearing in hopes of earning a smile. It had taken several months, but Darcy succeeded in Operation Befriend Bucky.
“Who are you and Laura going to go as?” Darcy inquired, trying to change the subject.
Clint grinned. “OutlawQueen, of course,” he supplied.
“Oooh. Going with the Once Upon A Time ship. It’s perfect,” Darcy admired. “Can’t wait to see it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a lot of work to do if I’m going to be able to afford the dress I’ve got my eye on.”
“Just so long as you show up,” Clint relented. “See ya, Doc.”
With a wink, Hawkeye made himself scarce and Darcy returned to her work, trying not to picture Bucky dressed as a Disney prince.
Bucky had just finished an intense workout and was trash talking Steve in a way only a best friend could get away with when his long suffering friend decided to turn the tables on him.
“So I hear you’re the only one who hasn’t RSVP’d for the big disney ball,” Steve commented. “Thought you would be going with Darcy.”
“How many times do I have to tell you we’re just friends?” Bucky sighed.
Steve gave him a look of utter disbelief and sighed.
“Still in denial. But you do know you can accompany her as a friend, right?”
“And have to hear you lot gossiping even more? No thanks,” Bucky muttered, even as he really wished he had the guts to ask Darcy. Despite what he’d told Steve, Bucky was very interested in the new astrophysicist in a definite more-than-friends way, but so far, he hadn’t seen any signs that she shared this interest, so he’d stayed quiet rather than ruin one of the best friendships he’d made in his post-Hydra life.
Steve just smiled knowingly at him.
“If you change your mind, Darcy is going as Giselle from Enchanted. Nat told me yesterday. They’re going shopping for dresses tomorrow.”
“Never heard of her,” Bucky muttered, splitting off from Steve to take the stairs to his floor. The next evening, a Blu-ray of Enchanted had appeared on his coffee table. Bucky turned up his nose, but Natasha’s commanding note had him sighing and watching the movie anyway.
Despite the typical Disney cheesiness, Bucky found himself enjoying himself and actually laughing a few times at the antics of the ridiculously over the top Prince Edward. Robert seemed a more realistic hero for once and he found himself sympathizing with the man. Bucky was pretty sure there wasn’t going to be a happily ever after for himself, either.
After the movie ended, he sat and thought for a while, then called Natasha.
Darcy bought her dress, shoes, and jewelry, happily spending way more than she normally would thanks to her long hours and careful saving up for the day. The wine colored fit-and flare dress looked amazing on her and the skirt swirled in a very satisfying manner when she turned around.
“You’re going to be turning heads tonight,” Natasha commented as they hauled their purchases home. “Especially a certain someone.”
She wiggled her eyebrows and Darcy sighed.
“Whatever you say. I have no comment,” she said rather stiffly.
Natasha laughed.
“You say that now,” she said.
In the end, Darcy went by herself to the ball, having chickened out about asking Bucky, which she was already kicking herself for. Oh, well. At least she looked fabulous in her dress that looked just like the one Amy Adams wore for the dance.
She perked up a bit when she got to the fancy ballroom Tony had rented and met the rest of the Avengers in full costume. Sure enough, Clint and Laura were Robin Hood and Regina and looked amazing. Tony and Pepper were Captain Hook and Emma Swan.
“Aren’t you a little grey to be Captain Hook?” Darcy teased him. “But that’s a nice costume.”
“Hook’s a lot older than he looks,” Tony replied, waving his fake hook hand around.
Natasha and Steve were Ariel and Eric, which was an unexpected choice, but Nat looked great in her slinky, iridescent turquoise dress and Steve was a fabulous prince. Sharon and Sam were Rapunzel and Flynn Rider and Wanda was Princess Elsa, complete with a gorgeous icy blue dress and fabulous blonde wig. Thor strode around dressed like Hercules and Darcy hung out with him for a few minutes, exchanging small talk.
“Are you also unaccompanied, Darcy?” Thor asked.
“Yeah,” she admitted. “But I’m hanging out with friends and feeling fabulous, so I’ll be alright,” she assured him.
She completely forgot what she’d planned on saying next because Bucky Barnes arrived and was looking so gorgeous, she found she couldn’t breathe.
Bucky, feeling stiff and awkward in his fancy costume, was keeping his eyes peeled for Darcy, even as he greeted Steve, Nat, and Sam, all of whom seemed very surprised, but pleased to see him.
“She’s over by Thor,” Nat whispered helpfully and Bucky looked where she indicated and felt his heart skip several beats and his mouth go dry.
Darcy was looking incredibly gorgeous in a dress like the one from the movie, which was a simple design, but very flattering on her. She’d left her dark hair down and had simple silvery earrings that sparkled in the light from the massive overhead chandeliers.
In this moment, Bucky knew he was a goner. These were NOT platonic friendly reactions he was experiencing right now. Not at all. She locked eyes with him and her own widened, and she full on smiled at him, which propelled him towards her, now oblivious to everyone else in the room.
Darcy swallowed nervously as Bucky approached, looking stunning in an embroidered dark blue jacket clearly meant to replicate Robert’s costume from Enchanted. He’d pulled his hair back into a small ponytail and it only added to the appeal.
“Hi,” she said softly, giving him a smile.
“Hi,” he answered back, looking at her in a way that made her feel downright giddy.
“Wow. Darcy, you look beautiful,” he told her, sincerity oozing from his voice.
“Why thank you,” she replied, trying to resist the urge to fan herself. “You’re looking pretty fabulous yourself. I’d say what a happy coincidence we picked the same movie, but I know our meddling friends better than that.”
Bucky grinned at her.
“Yep. And I have to tell them they were right later.”
“Right about what?” Darcy asked, knowing what the answer was but wanting to hear him say it.
“That I’ve got it bad for you, doll. I didn’t think you felt the same way, so I’ve been trying to ignore it, but I don’t think that’s possible anymore.”
The way he was looking at her was giving Darcy tingles all over and she took a step close to him.
“We’re a couple of fail boats then, because I’ve been feeling the same way, and was also convinced I was stuck in the friend zone,” Darcy admitted. “All our friends could see it, but we sure were oblivious.”
“We were. As a trained spy, I should be embarrassed, but I’m just happy,” Bucky told her. “Wanna dance?”
“Gladly, handsome,” she told him. “I heard you’re very talented in that department.”
Bucky flushed a bit, but shrugged.
“People exaggerate, but I did enjoy it back in the day. Let’s hope I’m not too rusty.”
If Bucky was rusty, Darcy certainly couldn’t tell because she was enjoying herself too much. She’d never danced with a guy who could lead as well as he could and it was glorious. Looking into his blue eyes, she couldn’t help but flush at the expression in them and wondered if she looked equally smitten.
Bucky was thinking about how perfectly they fit together and how her eyes were downright sparkling. That look she was giving him was downright dangerous and he never wanted this moment to end.
They ended up dancing through three more songs before Darcy pulled him away from the party.
“Tired already?” He asked teasingly.
“Bucky Barnes, you’d better kiss me right now, or so help me, Thor…..” she threatened playfully, pointing her finger at him. She didn’t have to say it twice. Bucky had been wanting to kiss her for a long time and just like with the dancing, proved to be very skilled.
“That good enough for Ya?” He finally asked.
“It’s a great start,” she whispered as she caught her breath.
Across the room, their friends looked on in amusement and approval.
“Nice work,” Steve told his girlfriend, who was looking very pleased with herself. “I thought you’d have to lock them in a closet or something.”
“Don’t think that wasn’t on the table if they kept being oblivious or Barnes refused to show up tonight,” Natasha admitted. “And I used to think YOU were the stubborn one.”
Steve laughed.
“You’re my favorite Disney prince, Bucky Barnes,” Darcy told him as they swayed together to a slow song.
“Just don’t expect me to sing or talk to chipmunks,” he muttered playfully. “Gotta draw the line somewhere.”
