Hey there! Given that I signed up for my blog over ten years ago, when things were very different, I unfortunately have no idea what things are like now, sorry!

But wanted to mention that you yourself also look like a bot (hence why I didn't respond directly to your ask, and am instead answering via screenshot). Assuming you are a real person and not a new weird bot, I would very strongly recommend doing the following things so other Tumblr users don't accidentally block you!

Change your icon from the default one. Just use anything else as a placeholder for now! I recommend something unique to you, such as a photo of your pet, or idk, take a picture of your favorite pen or snack or something.

Write something in your bio! List your fandoms/hobbies, or even just "I'm new here and figuring stuff out" etc

Make a post or reblog some! Empty blogs look like bot blogs, and we have no way of knowing when you made your account. Just a brief self-intro elaborating more on your fandoms/interests (no word count limit! go wild!), photo of your pet, or reblogging from other users using the two arrows circling button 🔄. You're very welcome to reblog from me!

(note, reblogging is very different from reposting/reuploading. The former is where you use the reblog button/function to share other Tumblr users' posts onto your own blog. Creators generally love this, as it helps boost our own posts, and all credit, likes, shares, etc will come back to us! Reposting/reuploading is when you save work that isn't yours to your device, and create a brand new post. This doesn't link to anyone, and is theft, and hurts creators. Don't do this!)

I will answer this because this anon actually brings a concrete question to the table rather than just "hurhur but you're a larrie??" (tell me you can't actually refute any of our points…). Anyway this post shows the decrease in Louis instagram followers between the screenshots taken directly after the release of Faith in the Future in Nov '22, when he changed his bio to promote that album and the tour tickets, and now, when he changed it again to mention the current release. But I'm putting that response under a cut because I'm tired of the actual POINT of all this nonsense getting lost in a sea of made up things people insist are important:

There is no rational argument you can make to say that Louis has less fans now than he did 2, 4, or 6 years ago. You don't need a spreadsheet of details you need to USE YOUR EYES! He has gone from filling theaters to filling arenas and stadiums. His second album made a higher chart position than his first album. His festival has doubled in size EVERY year of its existence. And for that matter: his insta post engagement numbers remain about the same (despite the fact that older posts should have way MORE likes due to having been there longer, even aside from follower counts.) SO WHO FUCKING CARES ABOUT HIS INSTA FOLLOWER NUMBER???? Serious question: what does the word "fans" mean if these things aren't what matters? ALL of this quibbling about what he should do to make things better and people can't even see that THINGS AREN'T BAD.

Anyway to address the specific question- (con't......)

NO- HE DID NOT LOSE FANS. HE LOST SOME INSTA FOLLOWERS. THESE ARE NOT THE SAME THING. As I said above, literally what does it mean to lose fans if that number change coincides with him having higher sales, more audience members, and higher engagement than ever before? Whatever he lost ISN'T FANS. I wouldn't be surprised if a significant factor was something like a bot purge, but also yes: I'm sure a lot of casuals followed him around the time of his big album release and later unfollowed him. That's extremely normal because that's how casual engagement works, and why the definition of fan really matters. Louis and his team understand this and have referenced it repeatedly, talking about how lucky he is to have *us* specifically, to have the kind of dedicated fanbase he has, to have the KIND of fans he does who will allow him to do what HE wants. @dogsliampaynedoesntinstagram named the issue of depth vs breadth with regard to fans a long time ago, and pointed out why having DEPTH is so much more important. It's like this- artists who are on top 40 radio have more numbers on things like insta follows, and for a time on sales and tickets. But those aren't FANS- they're people with a casual interest. And as soon as that person isn't being forced in their ears 10x a day, those people lose interest and stop supporting them, stop buying stuff and unfollow, and those artists end up doing the 'opener on the jingle ball' circuit rather than their own tours. One Direction as a whole, and Louis maybe most of all or near to at this point, have something MUCH MORE VALUABLE than that- DEPTH FANS. Louis has fans who will support him even if he takes years to release music, or stops parading around with a pretend girlfriend to stay in the headlines at least once a month, or completely changes his image and genre, and that is UNHEARD OF. It's ASTONISHING and worth SO MUCH MORE. And they get that! THAT is why he always bragging about us, why industry people he works with are always so agog about us, why he will do anything for US- not for randos. He is also growing his breadth- and it's OBVIOUSLY WORKING whatever his follower counts are, but that is always going to be secondary to doing things for THE FANDOM because that is his sustainable business model. That is what keeps him onstage and reaching number one. And not coincidentally, the things they do are also working to grow that- much more valuable- commodity. So the fact that that's exactly what these chuckleheads complain about- that he does things that are just fandom facing or serving rather than everything being aimed at recruiting casual fans- does nothing but betray how completely they, unlike Louis and his team, misunderstand the actual drivers of his (actual, existing, happening) success. Luckily for Louis, he and his team rely on their own data harvesting (they do a LOT of it) and growth metrics (they're off the charts) rather than the smug assumptions of random (mostly quite new to this) fans and the few bitter people leading the complaining about everything Louis does.

Just an idea for TDSB, you should give the pigeons more uses. Like what if they drop first aid materials to civilians in need, or what if they work as carrier pigeons sometimes. Pigeons are also really good at navigation, so it would be really cool if the pigeons were able to act as a gps of sorts. Another cool idea would be a whistle for tim that he can use to call any nearby robot pigeons to himself. ANOTHER other cool idea would be if he had actual pigeons that he trained to camouflage the robot ones better.

i personally don’t agree with your statement what you’re expected to reblog. i thought i could just use this app for fun and to read about my fav artists without being expected to do anything, and never really planned on being active and making reblogging a routine parr of my reading experience

then i guess you're not really aware with how this app works. tumblr is a reblogging site. that's the only way posts, or in this case fics, can get around and reach new audiences. the algorithm doesn't care aboit likes. tumblr doesn't care about comments (but i appreciate those as well!!)

if you enjoy and have fun reading the works of authors who spend hours of their days making content for you to consume, don't you think the bare minimum you can do is click that tiny button at the bottom of the post to show your appreciation, no?

Sweet Candy | Earth/Luna

Earth is sick. He is sick of them. He is sick of the parasites that live under his skin. They are killing him over and over and over until he's not sure if he actually is alive at this point. He is nothing but a husk.

He keep staring at the center of the solar system. He count the time he circle it, waiting something to happened. Yet, nothing. Nothing is stopping him from getting there. He can do it. He can..

"Earth! I can't believe how tasty this is!" Luna appears in front of him, his smile is accompanied with a rainbow lollipop between his teeth. His golden eyes shine in excitement.

Earth find himself staring blankly for a moment, before remembering that he is the one that gave the candy in the first place. Luna said that he is curious about what sweet candy taste like. And he made one for him.

"Yeah, that's what people usually snack on." He replied, he notice that his voice is raspy, the back of his throat tingle. His moon doesn't say anything about it anymore, but he look at him worryingly and take the lollipop out of his mouth.

He settle down beside his planet, nuzzling as close as he can like always. His gaze fall to the candy in his hand, colorful and full of sugar. It reminds him of himself, full of life and sweet resources.

The humans only see him as a resource to fulfill themselves. They see him as a sweet candy to eat everyday. They chew and chew until he no longer have taste left. The only thing that matters to them is the taste of sugar in their mouth.

Luna bring the lollipop to his lip, glazing it like it was a lipstick. Earth observe him curiously, until the moon pull him closer and their lips touch each other.

Earth usually have a salty tounge, and he kiss Luna enough to know he taste like metal. So the sweet hitting both of them is weirdly nice. He relax his position so he can lean more on the short figure.

Luna pull away first, face flustered. He clean his messy mouth with the back of his hand. Earth mind only can focus on the sweet that keep linger in the back of his throat.

It's painful. He know his body is scarred inside and outside, it can heal naturally if he is given the time for it, but the damage is too big even if he try now. It feels like he swallow a poison that will slowly kill him.

"Is it bad?" Luna whispered. Earth didn't notice that his face turn into a grimace.

"Not at all," He said, gaze lingers to the candy in Luna's hand. A sly smirk suddenly on his face. "Is this what you really want this whole time?"

Luna widened eyes mean he hit the target. He chuckle at his moon, who is turning red that he got caught. He hide away with his hand covering his face, It's so childish yet endearing.

"I just want to make you appreciate something the human make," Luna mumbled quietly. Earth amusement stop, he turn to stare, perplexed.

"Luna.." The moon lower his hand, but he doesn't look at him in the eye. Earth suck a breath, his hand come to grip his jacket tighter, chest stuffed with guilt.

Luna golden eyes are dimming with the shadow, shaky lips pressing together a cry.

"I know they are hurting you, but I know more than anyone you will never want to hurt them."
