sometimes in garashir fics, observers are inexplicably Really Happy for the couple, and Garak (used to being generally untrusted and ostracized) is like. hmm. that's unexpected, but i appreciate it! and doesn't really question it further

but i also think it would be funny to have people be super supportive and for Garak to go full paranoia-mode about it. "They must be lying, there must be a plot. They would never be this pleased to see the Doctor dating a former member of the Obsidian Order otherwise. Bashir is part of their plan, clearly, but is he in on it? What is their plan? Why is it so important that I date Bashir?" And then Garak starts desperately looking through all of the station's classified information and spying on officers, trying to find what bit of information he missed

In my heart, this fic is silly in spirit with a happy ending (and perhaps a very stunned and confused Garak, who is still trying to process the fact that people were genuinely happy for them and bashir really truly does want him), but it could also make for something very angsty, if people so pleased

Mostly because it's hilarious and catchy but also imagine the trial episode if Stolas and Blitzø are getting into shit for the grimoire deal. Blitzø tries denying they have proof, only for the prosecution to show that they have the fucking commercial that shows Blitzø clearly holding the damn thing right in front of the camera, if only for like 4 seconds. The bit with the actual jingle showing the murders is just a fucking bonus.

Like I don't think it would come back but it would be fucking hilarious and also in the immediate term devastating. It's not like they thought people would watch that commercial anyway, it ran for 3 hours on a channel no one watches!

Having just finally listened to the new The Magnus Protocol and getting introduced to Needles the 'What Do You MEAN I'm Not Scary Enough!?' Avatar of Sharp Poking, I have to say right now that I know in my heart of hearts that he must have so many terrible nicknames among the other avatars

"Hey, Pinhead, how goes the phone spam?" <- stings because originally he chose 'Pinhead' on purpose to reference Hellraiser, but absolutely no one got it until he spelled it out and by then the name was ruined

"What's up, Prick?" <- lowest effort, but still goads him into raising a single massive darning needle middle finger in response

"Kebab, can you hold onto this for me?" <- said before having assorted foods speared on him; fruits, sausage, cheeses, etc. Takes forever to pluck everything off. Even worse when someone just ambushes him with a down comforter and pillows

"This you?" <- no name involved, but always a prelude before being shown a picture of a porcupine

Just. There is no way this faintly jingling pile of pointy things has any respect among the rest of the bogeymen in this universe. I love it

what are your favorite horror films?

Hmm this changes, but atm probably:

Savageland— Mockumentary about the disappearance of a small Texas town. It’s an indie film with no budget, but they make the most of it. It features some very harrowing and spooky photographs.

Lake Mungo— Mockumentary about the disappearance of a teenage girl in Australia. This has very strong Twin Peaks influence. Love what it does with the concept of ghosts, and being haunted by your own fate.

Hell House LLC— Another mockumentary/found footage investigating mysterious deaths at a haunted house attraction on opening night. Really inventive use of jump scares, and I love how the subsequent films expand on the lore.

Ghostwatch— BBC horror broadcast from the 70s, this one was insaaaane because they essentially War of the Worlds-ed it. It looked like a genuine Halloween news segment, using like the actual regular anchors at the time. The plot takes a lot from the Amityville Horror iirc?

The Strangers— Home invasion movie. Incredible slow burn so there’s no horror for a solid 30 minutes or more, there’s instead a ton of character building. It’s so stressful to watch! The subsequent movies aren’t as good, but the first one is really well done.

Ravenous— Cannibalism as a metaphor for colonialism! So iconic. It lifts a bit from the Donner Party, but goes places with it. This movie, and its central dynamic, is everything NBC Hannibal wishes it was.
