okay so for this scenario to work i imagine that ted and trent are in this strange flirtatious limbo where from trent's pov, his already generally touchy and affectionate and secure-in-his-STRAIGHT-masculinity crush has been a little more touchy and affectionate lately but he's not too worried about it really even though he is thinking about it. so much. namely ted kinda put hands on his waist and gently moved/guided him aside the other day and trent still thinks about that at night, staring up at the ceiling and replaying the moment, because wow. wow wow wow. anyway, generally, it's pretty normal business for him although i assume this is a post-canon fix it so take that as you will and their friendship and banter are normal and of course still bring him so much joy buy are entirely platonic, at least on ted's end.

meanwhile from ted's pov he and trent have been flirting for ages now and maybe he thinks he lowkey casually came out to trent a while ago but it sailed directly over trent's head. anyway, so they're pretty good friends at this point, but trent's oblivious while ted thinks they are slowly but steadily heading directly for a relationship, which beard (highly intelligent but shares that highly intelligent braincell with ted) agrees with and so do the diamond dogs or rebecca & keeley or whoever else he may have talked to about this (because you know, it's obvious trent likes him back, and ted's been flirting, and it's so sweet! they're taking it slow, maybe trent's a little cautious ted's going to leave again, but ted's showing him he's serious and they're flirting and touching so much and it's disgustingly adorable) and etc.

so like.

everyone else: living in a rom com, ted's doing great at this whole wooing trent thing

trent: living in a warm but bittersweet story of friendship and unrequited gay love

so we've set the stage. now we're ready to utilize a classic trope. now, two ways i've thought of to set this up. one: ted sees trent putting on lip balm. two, a little more detailed: trent's daughter has been getting into (body safe kid friendly) "make up" (it's mostly like. glitter and wacky lip gloss and skin-safe markers) and in this case has just gotten some lip gloss. maybe it's glittery, maybe it's not. maybe it's themed, maybe it's not. whatever it is, she wants daddy to try some too. in this case, trent, either running late or just indulging, is now at nelson road with glossy lips. however as entertaining at this situation is i think it goes down a whole new rabbit whole of ted staring at glossy slightly glittery lips and trent is a bit embarrassed thinking he looks silly while ted is going ouuhhhhhhhhhhhhh thinking about kissing those lips and/or Those Lips In. Other Scenarios. and that's shockingly not QUITE where we're going. but i hope you enjoyed the detour because it's both sweet and really funny.

SO. trent's wearing lip balm, or chapstick, something less visible than lip gloss but still nice. and ted, definitely borderline flirtatiously but honestly the kind of thing he would have commented on/asked about even before, asks about it. oh, trent crimm, of course he has excellent grooming skills, look at him he's always gorgeous, etc, what's that you're putting on your lips anyway? is it nice? where'd you get it?

one thing trent likes about ted is that he's just genuinely curious. he wants to know things, both because he likes you and just because he's curious. he likes knowing things about people. he likes knowing things about trent. when he asks what in the hell trent is putting on his lips he is being 100 percent unironic and sincere. he just wants to know. (this is all true, of course. it's just that ted is also flirting.)

(one thing ted likes about trent: he never gets tired of ted's endless questions and stories and puns and quips and curiosity and words, really, ted's endless talking, and genuinely appreciates the attention rather than finding it annoying or suffocating or overwhelming. and he even asks questions back!)

so trent answers--just says a little sheepishly something like, oh, it's chapstick, my lips get a little chapped sometimes and if it gets too bad i pick at them which doesn't end well, or maybe oh, it's lip balm, honestly, it just feels nice (which is more of an admission than he'll say without prodding, because it's not very masculine, is it, and he's come a long way being willing to even admit something like that).

and ted says, oh, nice! that makes sense! hey, what flavor is it? wait--no. lemme guess.

accounts conflict on what happens next: does he try throwing out a few guesses first, some seriously calculated on what he knows trent likes, some a little out there and ridiculous to make him give that bright little grin? or is it immediately that he strides forward, firmly though not tightly takes trent by the shoulders (or was he bold enough to go for the hips?), and gives him a warm kiss directly on the lips? or maybe he didn't offer to guess at all but instead asked if he could try some and that's when he kissed him. the details don't really matter, and anyway--

trent could not fucking tell you. he is feeling ted's lips on his, and also ted's tongue he thinks, and he really couldn't be thinking less about lip balm or chapstick because ted's hands are on him and ted's lips are on him and--

ted pulls back, eyes bright and dancing, and declares, with some cat-got-the-canary satisfaction and gently teasing, merry delight, ah! now that's strawberry.

again: you must understand. ted is thinking some shit like FINALLY. finally i have gotten the courage to kiss him first and he is SO cute when he's stunned and his lips are warm and dry but soft, and i taste the strawberries, and would it be inappropriate to make a little joke about how he's sharing the lip balm/chapstick now? i don't want him to think i didn't like it. but he's so cute i wanna make him smile

TRENT, THOUGH???? trent is thinking. well. nothing because ted just kissed him, but you know, in a minute, he's going to mostly be thinking something along the lines of

because he had no fucking clue this was coming. at all. ted thinks this was a sweet culmination to a slow build up. trent just fell off a gay cliff.

so somehow trent wearing lip balm or chapstick (god i should have decided which at the beginning but it's too late now, i'm sticking to it, lipsticking to it if you will,) has lead to ted lasso kissing him on the lips and tasting it and this is trent's life now. yeah. yeah. ted lasso says he tastes like strawberries.

ted notices his lack of reaction, and the fierce blush that's stolen across his face and fled across his cheeks and high to the tips of his ears. he blinks--still holding trent in place btw--and then offers, strawberries and cream?

(he may or may not offer to check again, to which trent--voice uncharacteristically high--squeaks, which honestly nearly makes ted kiss him again anyway.)

(they will have to discuss this, and their little misunderstanding will soon come to light--something something 'ARE YOU FLIRTING WITH ME?' 'have been for several months but thanks for noticing babe' post--but first, one of three things will happen, and i am entirely unsure which:

trent, in a flustered, delighted panic, kisses ted first. ted isn't sure what to make of this development other than that it's positive, and therefore kisses back enthusiastically. hands wander. in the background, money changes hands at least once.

trent, in a flustered, mortified, uncertain panic, straight up flees like a scared mouse. ted, unsure what to make of this development other than that he's pretty sure it isn't positive, definitely does not have a panic attack (barely) and later trent will return (possibly after rebecca or roy or colin or someone followed after him to reassure him he definitely hadn't embarrassed himself nor was anyone making fun of him and he's very sheepish and apologetic about running away.)

trent, in a moment of divine revelation, realizes The Truth and suddenly out loud with enormous eyes goes "oh my god were you FLIRTING WITH ME?!??!?!?!" which makes ted laugh, bright and happy, because he hasn't processed the full implication of that and the idea of trent being kissed and going "WAS THAT FLIRTING?" is very cute, which then stops when trent flinches and is followed up with hugging him which is followed up with trent also laughing because wait no actually this is very funny. and then as he's laughing and ted's grinning ted goes wait. wait hold on you didn't know i was flirting this whole time?!?!?!??!?? In general, I'm weak for found family. Who's been on my mind alot lately is Carla. The official Buckley Diaz godmother. She witnessed what Buck is like when smitten and how he throws himself all in to helping. Yes originally we had Maddie cheerlead a bit but then her story became Chim and Buck. She's not exactly fluent in Buddie. But Carla is and it started with Buck how Buck loves.

Then you have her having observeing and counciling Eddie. Probably to a great extent also Christopher. Seen Eddie try and have a broken heart over Shannon. Seen Buck and Eddie co parent. She has been there in a defacto maternal role all along. Probably heard the missing pieces of Buddie material driving Chris home from school.

So then FF to the end of 4 and her cautious advice to Eddie is follow your heart not Christopher's. It's kind of weird advice. Why would anyone who is witnessing a very solid perfectly OK relationship give that kind of advice you know?? She more then anyone knows the importance of a support system in any family but especially one with special needs. Unless you know there is another option and it's screaming in your face every day but the 2 idiots in love are like best platonic buddies forever lol..

But honestly think about it for a moment. If you were having lunch with a bestie who's a single parent and they are like here's a perfectly lovely person who checks all the boxes. Would you realistically be like yeah, but you know??????

Oh def this! I mean, I wouldn't discount Maddie, I think she's still team Buddie, she's just distracted by her own love life, and also possibly a bit discouraged by how oblivious her brother is. But give her the chance, I'm sure she'll jump right back into that ring! ;)

But yes, I agree with you so much. I mean, we all know how awkward Eddie was around Ana, but that's because 911 allows us to see into their more intimate moments together, when the "flirting" is just so off, it's unreal. Carla, we assume, is not stalking them and has not been there to see such moments. On the surface, Ana is great, everything is great, so why in the world would Carla suspect Eddie's not following his heart? There is nothing in canon, in terms of the scenes where we've seen Carla together with Eddie and Ana, to explain why she would think something's off. So she MUST know something more than what we've been shown. And she is meant to be smart and insightful, so it would only make sense that if even Bobby is eyeing Buddie suspiciously from his corner of the screen in scenes they have together...

"What's going on with you?" You yelled as you grabbed Loki by the arm pulling him away from the girl who was obviously flirting with him and he with her.

"What are you talking about? We were talking." He yelled back.

"You were flirting Loki in front of everyone! Openly! Don't play me for the fool you think I am. You've been off lately. Not around as much, zoning out when we finally have some time together. If there's something you want to say tell me now." You felt the tears rush to your eyes. You had seen all the signs, hell you were an expert at the signs. Multiple boyfriends had given you the signs before but for some reason you though that maybe, just maybe, he was diffrent.

"I just feel like we've grown apart in the last few months y/n. I don't think I can do this anymore." he said simply.

"You said I brought out the best side of you, that I was the love of your life." You said tears streaming down your face now, to hell with the makeup you was wearing you wasn't going back to the party anyways.

"You're not." He stated simply clenching his jaw.

"Ok fine. It's not the first time I've been broken up with. Just the first time that I had ever put so much into someone that I truly did see a future with just to have my heart completely ripped out in front of me. You got me good this time trickster. Don't think I'll be able to fully recover from this one." You spat back at him before turning to head up stairs to your room that the two of you had shared for so long.

Luckily Tony hadn't done anything to the room you had once occupied on a lower level of the tower so you easily moved all of your clothing back into there in a matter of no time. You weren't use to the feeling of being alone but thats all you wanted right now for the rest of your life. The god of tricks had ruined other men for you, he had once shown you love like you had never felt, and now your heart broke like it had never broke before.

"Hey sis, noticed you weren't- oh god what did he do?" Clint asked walking into your room. "Knew something was up. I could feel it."

"Hawk stop with the twin shit, its creepy." You huffed whipping your eyes on the back your long sleeve hoodie.

"What happened? All I know is you two disappeared, he came back, you didn't, and he said I should probably find you in your old room." He sat down next to you.

"We broke up. Easy as that. Ya know I never understood why they say not to date your co workers till today." You shrugged turning to him. "When we first got together you hated it-"

"To be fair he did brainwash me."

"I didn't say you didn't have a right. We kept it from you for a while though. But we hadn't been together long, Hawk, I thought he was diffrent from any man I ever dated-"

"Well he is a god, kinda different."

"Would you shut up so I can vent just for a little bit then you can go back to the party."

"Na, parties lame anyways, I was thinking about hanging out here for a little bit." He said kicking his shoes off and proping his feet on the coffee table throwing his arms across the back of the couch.

"Whatever," you rolled your eyes as you snuggled into your brother. "He was so kind, gentle, he was paciant with me. He knew that me and you were close and he didnt wamt to get in the way of that. He wanted us to be closer than he and Thor was. I think it helped him realize just how important family is when you only have each other. We kept it a secret for so long though." You pulled the hood up closer to your face. You didn't want to admit to yourself but you had kept the jacket because it still smelled like him.

"Nat seen the two of you making out in the hall weeks before you told anyone by the way." He laughed pulling you closer to him. " I didnt say anything though because I knew you would tell me when you were comfortable with it."

"I love him so much and he played me. Completely tricked me into these feelings that I dont think will ever change." You sobbed wrapping your arms around his waist, he through his arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer.

"Hes a dick with a god complex. Hes not good enough for you at all. Coming from a brother, a twin brothers point of view, I think you could do better. All is fair in love and war, but dont put it past me to be a little rougher on him during training, and I wont point anything out if you happen to let some bad guy kill him on the field." He said kissing the top of your head.

"Hawk, you know I'm not like that. I habe a reputation to up hold." You said slapping his arm before pulling away. "If you wanna stay theres still some of your sweats that I stole in the bedroom and ice cream in the freezer, but your sleeping on the couch. Its been since we were kids that we shared a bed but I bet you still kick."

A few weeks had passed since you and Loki had called it quites. You had been mainly staying in your room trying not to cause any uncomfortable silence if you and Loki wede in the same room. On one occasion when you had ventured out to the living room you seen Loki holding an icepack to his eye and a busted lip, your first instinct was to rush over and make sure he was ok but instead you turned and took a seat between Thor and Clint.

"Lady Y/n, as always your peresnts lights up the room. We just havent been seeing much of it as of late." Thor greeted you with a warm smile throwing his huge arm ober your shoulder, making you look smaller than you already was.

"No more gods." Clint mumbled beside you.

"Thor is just a friend. One of the best I have." You laughed. "What happened?" Nodding toward Loki.

"Payback." He shrugged.

"Ah yes, it turns out Loki is not very good at hand to hand combat unles he is able to use his magic." Thor laughed. "I always tried to get him to train with me but he never did, turns out he probably should have."

"Oh for god sakes I'm right here and you three are not really whispering. I shouldn't have to learn hand to hand combat I have my sedair! I'm assuming it was just your brothers idea so that he could get back at me." He yelled.

"And you forget that there could come a time when you might need hand to hand. I told you many times that you needed to train but no mister 'I'm Loki prince of Asguard, burdened with glorious purpose', mister I have my magic. Bullshit. Your just sour because a mear mortal bested you at something. Grow a pair and learn how to actually fight." You jumped up. You had finally snapped. It had been coming tough sitting in you waiting for the right, or wrong, time to show up.

"You watch your tone!" He shouted jumping up. "I know how to fight better than half the people in here." Clint and Thor slowly stood watching the scene in front of them neither one know what to do.

"You know how to use your pixie dust to make things happen! Well guess what tinker bell this aint Neverland. We get in weird predicaments all the time you never know what to expect." You yelled back. "Hell Loki, your probably so bad at hand to hand even I could beat you."

"Oh your on. Training room, 30mins. That is unless your scared?" He said giving you a mischievous smirk.

"Trust and believe I'm not afraid of you by any means. No weponds, no sedair strictly hand to hand." You said turning on your heel to walk to your room to get ready leaving Clint and Thor standing alone in the living room aww struck.

"So what do we do?" Clint finally asked.

"Well of course we have to stop this. It will not end very well." Thor answered.

"So tell the others?"

"Yes you tell the others I will get refreshments for the battle." They took off in seprate directions.

RE JIMIN'S LOVE LANGUAGE

This is in response to questions I've received in my message box following my recent post on Jimin's love language. Ignore this if you've read my main post on this same topic- Or maybe not.

Also, I'm sorry about the Asks. I accidentally turned it off- AGAIN. Thanks for drawing my attention to it. I purple y'all.

What I meant by my last post was that, for us to understandJimin or even the rest of the members' love language, it is important we make a distinction between what is uniquely Jimin/the individual members' love language and what is their culture's or even the established and accepted practices within their group.

And on that, I said skinship is a cultural practice but also one of the group's adopted love languages. It is their way of achieving intimacy and bonding with eachother and as such they do not associate romantic connotations with it.

Thus, when they touch eachother in any way, provocative as it may seem to us, to them there is nothing romantic about it at all. So when Taekook, Jikook, Yoonmin or any of these pairs touch eachother, it is not with romantic intentions.

Why then does Jimlous and Jeonlous exist? For a myriad of reasons other than that skinship is romantic! Lol

I've explained previously, that JK and Jimin's discomfort with each other's skinship with the others often has to do with the lack of boundaries that is inherent in skinship rather than that they are actually jealous or see skinship as romantic. This is often true for Jimin.

With JK, his possessive nature very often amplifies his discomfort with the lack of boundaries but also because, out of the seven, he is the only one that had had a problem accepting and participating in the skinship culture within the group- well, him and Suga. It's taking them some getting used to.

But that wasn't because he was viewing skinship as romantic but rather because he was uncomfortable with affections and the overt expressions of it as is required of skinship.

That's not to say they do not or have not implied romantic intentions with their touches- there is nothing platonic about boners. Lol.

And any skinship that results in a visible sexual tension or arousal can no longer be deemed skinship- it's foreplay.

Jikook does skinship all the time like everyone else in the band, but often too some of those skinship crosses the platonic threshold into sexual foreplay- they ain't slick.

You just have to see the look on Tae's face when he noticed, through the view finder, Jimin caressing JK's thumb to comprehend that not all their touches are mere skinship.

That's one of the differences between Jikook and the other ships; Jikook presents a mutual sexual attraction towards eachother beyond the pubescent hormonal teen frenzy that marked their early formative days- god, those boys were so horny they could hump a tree to death. Bless them.

Mind you, I disregard any sexual innuendos that was present in Jikook's dynamics as well as any other ship's dynamics, if ever there was one, during that hormonal teen period of their lives. It was all something but nothing at the same time. They were all just being horny and gross teenage boys- Hashtag, war of hormones for real for real. Lol

All that that timeline taught me was, Jikook are freaky af and certainly don't see each other as brothers. CERTAINLY.

That being said, for a better understanding of Jimin's love language, a distinction must be made between love language and sexual interest. It will make sense in a bit.

Because Jimin's father is an affectionate person and this is the love language he has taught to Jimin, Jimin interprets any affectionate and kind act as a loving gesture. It is how he gives love, it is how he receives love.

He values kindness and compassion, selflessness, vulnerability, transparency, fairness etc.

Thus to show his love for you he will be kind to you, vulnerable with you, transparent with you, supportive of you and nurturing of you.

We see him being like this with all the members, even the staff and dancers too at times but more so with Tae and JK.

The question then is, how does Jimin receive love? What actions does he interpret as love? Easy, sexual attraction. Hear me out.

You see, because Jimin is a natural nurturer and he sees nurturing as a universal love language that everyone speaks or ought to speak, he requires his romantic love interest to distinguish between their platonic love interest and their romantic love interest.

To fulfill him emotionally, you would have to make him feel special, treat him differently from your friends, and let him know that you want him and only him.

Sexual interest is one way of distinguishing between platonic interests and romantic interests, and it flows from this that he not only requires grand gestures, or special treatment but that you flirt with him as well.

Hence his emphasis on flirting. He likes to flirt. He enjoys it. He's mastered it. He's a fucking pro at it- give him his medal.

Just to be clear, even though flirting is part of his love language, he has also adopted flirting as part of his idol persona and often when he is flirting overtly he is only doing it for the 'fan service.'

But that doesn't mean all of that is fan service. Sometimes it's blatant foreplay as I've explained above and if you can't tell the difference between his foreplay and fanservice- chileee, I can't help you.

I'm still traumatized by that Bon V 4 moment. Sweet Jesus, save me if they should keep this energy up!

It's important, at this point, to note that because Jimin is a nurturer, every decent human being can easily be compatible with him. I have said several times over my blog that Jimin is ship compatible with anyone and everyone- I ain't mad at that.

What it comes down to then is whom he prefers and whom he is choosing to make him happy and to fulfill him. I explained that choice and being able to be in charge of decision making and to make his own decisions is very important to Jimin because on his background.

And when it comes to love, it's no secret who Jimin wants. He wants JK and that's on Periodttt.

I explained that in the early days during Rookie King, he felt he needed to get emotionally closer to JK when he had an opportunity to talk and heal as a group- his personal was important to him.

In that JinJikook VLive when Jin was eating a lollipop in a provocative way he asked him to stop immediately but couldn't, for the love of god, tear his eyes off JK when JK ate his lollipop in a- I can't. Jikook!

Unless he is in his fan service mood or is being his slytherin slash whore of babylon self- bless him, often he would reject any attempt by anyone to flirt with him except JK.

And I keep reiterating this, flirting isn't JK's thing. It's Jimin's thing. The last time JK tried to this flirty- he cried. Lmho

Take that interview where the host moved closer to Jimin in a flirty way for example. Jimin leaned back away from him. In the popular words of Jimin- don't do that.

Then in this airport scene right here, where Suga and Tae tried to protect JM from getting mobbed (if video is missing check bottom of this post. I hate tumblr)

You could see Jimin moving towards JK. Now some may argue he was trying to protect the JK who seemed oblivious to what was going on but I beg to differ.

I just think Jimin was moving towards JK because that's his safe haven. That's the person he feels the most safe with. 'Jk will protect' 'JK is strong.' He felt threatened and his instincts was to fin that person whom he feels would and should protect him- and that person usually isn't very far away.

And no, I'm not being biased. It's just I can't in good conscience theorize and make wild assumptions about Jimin's emotional needs the way I would the other's because unlike the others, Jimin keeps showing us what he wants. Y'all are just not listening.

It is why I said, JK on paper seemed like the last person to meet Jimin's emotional needs. He didn't strike me as the ambitious type or the daring type the way Yoongi presented himself in early days. It is why I shipped Yoonmin or even Vmin.

And even in those ships, I didn't believe they were real. Suga was too emotional closed off and wouldn't

And as I explained, having been denied his ambitions, it's not a stretch to assume, Jimin desires an ambitious partner. One who loves the stage, loves their career.

But I feel, most people including myself underestimated Jungkook. As much as JK may not appear as ambitious career wise, he is one of the most passionate members of group.

His decision to join BTS was driven purely by passion, his decision to start GCF, get a tattoo and every other endeavor he's embarked has been driven purely by his passion. And passion is a variant of ambition.

Jimin pursues his ambitious and JK pursues his passions- they are the same in the same way. And I see why Jimin will tell JK they are one and the same. They are more alike than we think they are.

So yes, Jimin needs an ambitious partner but a passionate partner equally suffices.

What equally suffices is a supportive partner. One willing to sacrifice their ambitions or needs when it comes to it, to accommodate Jimin's needs. Jimin is very competitive in nature and hates to lose, we've been told.

And nobody lets Jimin win the way JK does. Nobody. It's funny, because VMin's dumpling fight took days/weeks to resolve. And Jikook's raining dat fight took a few hours.

What hit me about that tale as told by Jikook was JK going to Jimin to resolve their fight- another instance he let Jimin win. Tae loves Jimin but I don't see him sacrificing his ego and pride the way JK would for Jimin. I don't see any member doing that for Jimin quite frankly.

It is one way I see JK nurturing Jimin. Jk can be hard headed but there is a softness and a tenderness to him that's speaks to Jimin's love language.

I can go on and on about this topic, you know? Lol
