I portray Connor's three stages.

From a young man starting his life as an assassin.

In prison, with no weapons and very low chances of survival but Connor always kept the faith and confidence that he would make it out alive. (The man almost died by hanging, and only gave himself a second to recover and take the axe to go after his target).

And the last one where he is already the peak of his bravery and strength.

Thinking about Entropy going from following her father’s orders to following her sister’s hopes to following her new benefactor’s directions. Losing herself in the singular focus of making their desires come true until she can’t find herself anymore. First realizing she doesn’t know what she wants in a conversation with her sister

Whatever normal is, she seems to have figured it out. The house looks like it could be any of the many she’s broken into. Nile had settled down and started a family. A crib rocks gently next to a bed for two. A stuffed moon and sun dangle over a bundle of blankets. One of Nile’s hands rocking her baby to sleep as her eyes are closed, clearly tired from the baby’s antics during the days.

A body, her partner most likely, shifts next to her and Nile stirs. When she opens her eyes just a crack, Entropy is gone. Outside the window is just a tree branch swaying in the wind.

Is this what she really wanted? To go back to what her life would have been without her sister in it?

Japanese Linguistic Observations in Spy x Family - part 3

Part 3 - Yor's keigo

I discussed in part 1 about the different levels of speech in Japanese, particularly how Twilight changes his speech depending on the persona he's donning. He uses keigo, the standard polite form of speech, when he's acting as Loid Forger, but uses casual speech as Twilight. Yor, however, uses keigo all the time, to a degree that some would feel is excessive, but also makes sense for her character.

Keigo is the most basic form of polite speech in Japanese. It's the speech that's taught in pretty much every beginner Japanese learning course because it's the "safest" for most situations. Without getting too technical, it basically involves using the polite conjugations of verbs. All verbs in Japanese have a "polite" conjugation form that's used in keigo. For example, the verb "to go," 行く (iku), will change to 行きます (ikimasu): change the く(ku) to き (ki) and add -ます (-masu). -masu itself is then conjugated further to show past tense, negative tense, etc. Likewise, one would use です (desu) as the "to be" verb instead of its casual equivalent だ (da). For example, saying 車です (kuruma desu), which means "there is a car" instead of 車だ (kuruma da). It's even more casual to leave out the "to be" verb altogether.

Unlike Twilight, who changes his speech depending on who he's talking to or which facade he's using, Yor consistently uses keigo, whether she's talking to an adult like Loid, a child like Anya, and even an animal like Bond. She uses keigo with strangers as well, even those who are antagonistic to her, like the other assassins in the cruise arc.

Even at times when using polite speech isn't warranted, like in her own thoughts, she still uses keigo regardless.

In addition to using keigo with pretty much everyone, she also uses the polite -さん (-san) honorific with everyone's names as well. It's not unusual to do this with fellow adults like Loid, Camilla, and Franky, but when it comes to kids, especially when they're not your own kids, other honorifics are also an option. For example, adults can use the honorifics -ちゃん (-chan) for little girls and -くん (-kun) for little boys, both of which denote endearment to someone young/cute. Loid calls Damian "Damian-kun" and Fiona calls Anya "Anya-chan" for example. But Yor uses "-san" for Anya, Damian, Becky, and probably every other kid she hasn't met yet! She uses "-san" with animals as well, which isn't nearly as common. She's the only one who calls Bond "Bond-san" and she even called the cat Kopi from chapter 43, "Kopi-san."

She also uses "-san" for people whose names she doesn't know, and in some cases, probably shouldn't show respect to. She calls the terrorists from the doggy crisis arc "terrorist-san", bad guys that she takes out on her missions "warumono-san," Olka's group "mafia-san," and the other assassins from the cruise arc "koroshiya-san."

The only exception to Yor's excessive use of keigo is Yuri, which makes sense since it's standard practice to be more casual with a younger relative than an older relative or someone outside the family. He's the only person she refers to without "-san" (she just calls him "Yuri"). And while she does use the informal verb forms with him, she still uses "desu" and its conjugations. So overall, she's more casual with him, but not completely so.

When talking about herself, Yor uses the standard, gender-neutral, polite word for "I"/"me," 私 (watashi). However, when talking to others, she never uses any form of "you." Like I mentioned in part 1 about how there's different ways of saying "I" and "me" in Japanese depending on the speech level, the same is true for "you." But it's always more polite to say someone's name or title instead of "you," and Yor does that all the time. Just like in part 2 how I couldn't recall any instance where Anya says "I" or "me" since she always refers to herself in third person, I can't recall any time Yor called someone "you" instead of saying their name or title.

While Loid uses the casual "you" word お前 (omae) when talking to Anya, Bond, Franky, and anyone else he doesn't have to be polite with, he doesn't use any form of "you" for Yor. He speaks to her the same way she does to him – saying her name plus "-san" instead of using "you."

Unlike English, Japanese is a language where you don't have to say pronouns if it's understood by the context, which is why something like this is difficult to convey in a translation.

I think it's an interesting contrast that Twilight is constantly changing how he speaks depending on whether he's acting as Loid Forger, as a spy, whether he's conversing with a fellow spy like Fiona, a casual friend like Franky, someone he respects but can't be fully open with like Yor, and even how he talks to himself in his head…yet Yor is the total opposite. As I've discussed in this post, she's extremely consistent in her speech, never straying from being polite no matter who she's speaking to or whether she's in her Thorn Princess role or not, or even whether she's speaking to herself in her head or not. This just further proves that, while Yor has to keep her assassin job a secret, she doesn't have to create a fake persona for it. Unlike Twilight, who acts one way as a spy and another way as Loid Forger, and perhaps another as his "true" self, Yor doesn't feel the need to hide anything about herself other than her job as an assassin – Thorn Princess and Yor Forger are the same person who shows respect for others no matter what her relationship is with them.

Such excessive use of keigo is odd for a fluent speaker, but it's not unheard of. There are plenty of examples of characters from other anime/manga who use keigo all the time too. I think it gives us an interesting, subtle look into their character. In Yor's case, I think her constant use of keigo comes from a combination of her sweet personality that never wants to offend anyone, but also her poor self-esteem. After all, keigo and other polite forms of Japanese speech are meant to elevate the listener while humbling the speaker. Yor speaks politely to everyone because she simply wants to be kind to everyone and make them feel comfortable, even those she has to kill, but at the same time, she often feels inferior to others.

However, there are rare exceptions where Yor stops using keigo which are, appropriately, during very suspenseful, high-stakes moments where politeness would be the least of her worries. For example, during her fight with Barnaby when she realizes she's holding back, she starts using casual speech. But she goes back to keigo before too long.

But probably the most notable example of her completely dropping keigo is near the end of her big battle against the assassins on the cruise ship, where she finally comes to realize what she's fighting for. During her whole epiphany scene – starting from when she thinks of Yuri and herself as kids until she stands up and says she won't stop fighting – she switches completely to casual speech.

There are many ways to interpret this, but I think it shows what an emotional revelation this was for her: she remembered that the suffering in the world is what caused her to want to protect Yuri from any kind of tragedy, and now the same can be said for Loid, Anya, and Bond. She remembered the words of acceptance she heard from Loid when they first met, words no one else had likely ever said to her before. She realized that she didn't care what happened to her as long as she could stop anything bad from happening to her loved ones – in that moment, no formalities were necessary with such intense self-reflection.

Twst x Fe3h (Fire emblem 3 houses)

I've been playing fe3h a lot since graduation so i figured i'd be fun to make something like this, i don't actually have the dlc so i hope the dlc class assignments i did seemed somewhat correct

General ideas:

1st years would usually be in beginner classes

2nd years in intermediate classes

3rd years in advanced classes

Instead of 3 houses we have 2 schools (3 if we add noble bell but honestly i'm leaning towards only 2)

Instead of the white heron cup the vdc decides who gets to be in the dancer class (which i guess could mean we can have up to 7 dancers??)

Good at flying a broomstick = Good at wyvern/ pegasus riding(?)

I'm planning on ignoring the fact that some classes are genderlocked because i think that locking certain classes behind gender is stupid

Despite the fact that everyone in twst is capable of magic i will be ignoring it because it would be boring if everyone was a mage/warlock/gremory

about the artist: Karol Beyer was the very first professional photographer in warsaw. he is the author of many photos of famous people and famous events from that time. besides warsaw he also took photos of other cities in all parts of the partitioned country. during the january uprising he was arrested and deported to russia because of his role as the photographer of the 1860s protests and his links to the people who organized them.

what races, classes, and subclasses in dnd would the yakuza boys like to play? (or the yokai harem 💕)

I'm going to use BG3 as a reference, because I never had the friends to play/get to know D&D. :') So there may be some slight inaccuracies to the original lore.

Daitou would be intrigued by a race like Dragonborn or Githyanki. They look different and intimidating, which resonates well with him. He'd probably pick a class like a Paladin or Warlock, because again, he can relate to the concept. "Heh, that's a little like me and Boss, ain't it?" he'll conclude after you explain what everything means. Bonus: he'd probably relate a lot to Durge.

Kazuya would go for a Tiefling or Elf. Either a Bard, or some ridiculously strong combo like Gloom Stalker Assassin. He likes being a charismatic character, but also thrives for power. "What do I pick so I'm the strongest of the team?"

Kiritsubo might go for a Dragonborn because he's a dragon spirit himself; he doesn't really understand all these fancy names, so he just picks whatever feels familiar. Using the same logic, he'd choose either Fighter or Barbarian. "I just have to swing a sword around, r-right?"

Murasaki would be intrigued by the Githyanki or (female) Drow. The discipline, the reputation, the arrogance, they certainly feel like home. As for class...he'd probably research some multiclass combination in order to be an efficient jack of all trades. Maybe something involving Sorcerer, for the long range and spell variety.

Suma is a simple man. He wants to use his fists. Give him a Half-Orc Barbarian or Monk and he'll be happy.

Yuugiri would probably choose an Elf because they look nice. Then go for some Bard/Rogue combination, so he can steal, backstab, and manipulate people. "What? I can roll to convince the enemy to just...kill themselves? This will be my signature move."

Sakaki immediately chooses Deep Gnome. They're frequently enslaved and mistreated (at least in BG3), and he finds the misery poetic. For the same reason he'd go for something like Cleric, Trickery Domain. "I have been killed again. Revive me if you must: but I shall savor death's sweet embrace." Bonus: Probably a Shar simp.

Sekiya is amused by the idea of being a human. Becomes terribly flustered and embarrassed when you tell him it's considered a boring choice. Went for Warlock because it was recommended as a balanced choice for beginners. Has been killed several times because he jumps in to protect his spider familiar. "You know what I can't summon again? The trust I could've lost if I let my companion die."

Why do a starter deck for assassins creed? The starter decks are intended for players just starting out but the assasins creed cards are modern legal so the complexity and power level should be for more advanced players. You didn't do commander decks for this product when they made way more sense than mh3

Okay so I would say killua in the beginning wouldn’t pay that much attention to you. He still have his moment with Gon when they become friends and well you were just kinda there

Now killua thought you would be out in the first part but when you managed to keep up with him and Gon you start to get his attention and maybe also because Gon could not shut up about you!

Now killua as we saw in the show was quite awkward with Gon after they became friends it’s the same with you, you could say just about anything to him and his first instinct is to look away! There was just something about your shyness that caught his attention!

Now killua being killua would pull LOTS of pranks on you but one day you pulled one back on him? Now he’s shocked he thought he knew you well? But now your pulling pranks and with the way the prank was done you weren’t a beginner prankster?

Boy and just when killua thought that was it! In the final trial of the Hunter exam you and killua were going against each other. Killua was going to forfeit because he didn’t want to hurt you, you just looked so fragile so weak.

But you didn’t hesitate and went to a hit he just barely dodged your attack. You than went in with another hit and managed to get him? And boy it hurt! Killua quickly forfeited the match not wanting this battle to go on any longer

Of course when you find killua after the match you instantly apologize for hitting him. And to make him feel better you just kept making joke after joke by the end of it you and killua were two laughing messes!

In other words killua would just be really shocked that your stronger than him

Now when you and killua start dating killua would just be very blushy blushy! And you always cling and snuggle up to him. He loves it’s but it just embarrasses him so much to the point where he sometimes pushes you away

He doesn’t mean anything by it! He really doesn’t! It just that sometimes it overwhelms him with embarrassment

Now after killua gets used to your affection he would still not let you be too touchy not wanting his family to find out that he has someone close to him(though his parents might just love you because of your strength)

Overall killua would be a lot like a teenager with his first girlfriend very embarrassed and easily flustered!

Killua Zoldyck was used to being the strongest and most skilled fighter among his peers. As a member of the infamous Zoldyck family, he was trained from a young age to be a formidable assassin. So when he decided to take the Hunter Exam, he had no doubt that he would easily pass and become a licensed Hunter. However, during the exam, Killua noticed a timid girl who seemed lost and out of place in the midst of all the ambitious and competitive candidates. She kept to herself, barely speaking to anyone and always looking down at the ground. Her name was [Y/N], and she caught Killua's attention. At first, Killua didn't pay much attention to [Y/N], thinking she would be eliminated early on. But as the exam went on, he couldn't help but notice her determination and resilience. Despite her quiet nature, [Y/N] pushed through the challenges, surprising even Killua with her abilities. He couldn't help but feel drawn to her, wanting to know more about the mysterious girl. As they progressed through the exam, Killua and [Y/N] found themselves often working together, and slowly, she started opening up to him. He discovered that she was actually a very outgoing and silly person, but her shyness and introversion masked it. As they grew closer, [Y/N] would often joke and play pranks on Killua, something he never expected from her. He found himself enjoying her company more and more, and soon, they became inseparable. When they both passed the Hunter Exam, Killua and [Y/N] decided to travel together, along with Gon and their other friends, Leorio and Kurapika. [Y/N] brought a new energy to their group, her bubbly and carefree personality balancing out Killua's cool and serious demeanor. They would often tease and playfully argue with each other, much to the amusement of their friends. As their journey went on, Killua and [Y/N]'s relationship grew stronger, and they eventually became an official couple. [Y/N] was never afraid to show her love and affection for Killua, often showering him with hugs and kisses, something that he was not used to. But deep down, he loved it, feeling loved and cared for in a way he never experienced before. As time passed, Killua realized that [Y/N] wasn't just a silly and affectionate troublemaker, but also a strong and determined Hunter. Her powers and skills surpassed even his own, and he couldn't be prouder of her. [Y/N] had come a long way from the shy and introverted girl he first met during the Hunter Exam. Together, Killua and [Y/N] faced numerous challenges and battles, but they always had each other's backs. They were a perfect team, and their love for each other only grew with each passing day. In the end, they both became licensed Hunters, and [Y/N] proved to be the strongest of them all, surpassing even Killua. As they stood atop a tall mountain, overlooking the beautiful landscape, Killua wrapped his arms around [Y/N] and whispered, 'You have become the strongest person I know, both in strength and in love.' [Y/N] smiled up at him, knowing that she couldn't have done it without him by her side. Their journey together may have started with a shy and introverted girl and a skilled and arrogant assassin, but it was their love for each other that brought out the best in both of them. They were the perfect match, and their love only grew stronger with each passing day.
