It's official... Pesterquest Rewritten has existed for ONE WHOLE YEAR. (Give or take a few days. I was sick.)

But that leaves the question...

What now?

Well! The short answer is, nothing's changing. I'm still working on the game in my free time, I'm still juggling it against other projects I'm equally passionate about. I took the summer off from working on PQR, but as of a few days ago, I did actually start updating Kanayaroute once again -- the Good Ending is actually pretty close to being finished!

(We're doing the bad ending second, so even though you technically CAN progress to Tavros Route once you beat Kanayaroute, you're gonna still need to wait for the bad end to be finished before we move on.)

And then after Tavros route, that's the halfway mark of the trolls! Six whole volumes done, another six to go -- we'll put something special in between Tavros's route and the next troll's, to help break up the pace. Hopefully that experiment will pay off. :)

In other news, progress on Bonus Route 3 is going nice -- I recently finally fixed all the animations for the currently-implimented dialogue, and @flaringk did art of the first bad end. I'm so thrilled to be working with @megasuperhappyfuntimestuff on it -- it's a blast. :33 (EDIT: AND GEVRENS DAD @ezramire DID THE ART OF GEVREN'S OFFICE!!!! IT'S REALLY GREAT STUFF)

And... Yeah! One whole year of this game. I think I'll give more detailed thoughts on what this all means to me personally elsewhere, but for now I'll just say... Thank you. Thank you to everyone who's played it, who's left comments, who's been supportive. It means the world.

Taking Pesterquest and turning it into a deeply personal story is... risky, but I'm glad it's resonated with so many people. :)

1. did you play with legos

I have (had?) a giant tub of legos that I spent countless hours building spaceships and dragons and fortresses from growing up. Most of those legos are older than I am. The only reason I didn't bring it up north with me is that I couldn't fit it in my car. I hope my nephew's enjoying the hell out of them when he and my sister go to visit my dad.

10. ring pops or airheads

Mmmm.... Ring pops, I think. I like the way hard candies crunch, and airheads always get stuck in my teeth. Plus the airheads commercials freaked me out as a kid, lmao. Who wants their head to turn into a balloon?? No thank you

14. lemons or limes

Lemons! They're so versatile in food, oh my god. Like, of course with all the obvious things like lemonade and lemon squares and stuff, but in savory things too! If you haven't tried chicken schnitzel with a little lemon over the top, then man, you are missing out.

20. magic eight ball or rubik’s cube

Magic eight balls are fun, and I actually have the little d4 from one somewhere. I salvaged it after the one I had as a kid got busted. It's a fun little time-waster, but I could never take it seriously as an oracle lmao. The rubik's cube has so much more staying power in my mind. I've never been able to solve one, but by god, one day I will. One day I will.
