maybe not an unpopular opinion but more uncommon from what i've seen but: the racism and sexism and general harassment characters face from the townsfolk is infinitely scarier than anything upside down related. like i was more afraid for lucas and erica in the last episode when they got ambushed by the jocks than i was scared of vecna all season. and i definitely don't trust the duffle bags to handle any of that with grace or tact ((they very much don't, obviously)), but i think it could be really interesting to explore how the supernatural monsters aren't half as scary as the people these characters have to deal with every day

ok, i got this ask ten days ago, and I've been thinking about it ever since. Because I got two other asks asking for fiddauthor, and I dON'T KNOW HOW TO LET THEM DOWN LIGHTLY BECAUSE I'M A FIDDLESTAN BITCH THROUGH AND THROUGH 😭😭😭😭 I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, fiddauthor is great and makes sense and everything. But listen. Billford and fiddauthor are multidimensional ships, they are good! But FIDDLESTAN!?!? that shit is the WHAT-THE-HECK-A-HEDRON!!!!!!! Even though it's literally 100% speculation, the implications are FUCKING CRAZY!!!!!!!!! I jumped between three ships so far during this gravity falls thing, each time thinking one is better than the other. I've decided that FIDDLESTAN IS KING!!!!!! I'm sorry. I could rant about them forever. I've been listening to nothing but extended versions of disco music for the past week. (YES THEY HAD A CRAZY ROMANTIC FLING IN VEGAS NO I WILL NOT ELABORATE!!!! What's your opinion on purple™ mattresses?

No one is allowed to come for me about this take, got it? This a safe place for my personal opinion which I was just asked for. Okay? If you disagree just move along. If you love your Purple I’m not saying that’s wrong.

So. I personally really dislike Purple. It’s not just Purple but they were one of the first bed in a box, for which they have much to answer for. Their catchy branding opened up a new type of mattress market. But making a bed cheap enough to roll up like that and still meet fire standard plus providing back support is just a unicorn.

As I previously mentioned I don’t think beds in boxes can provide good long term back support. But the target demographic of broke 20 somethings is robust enough to deal with the lack of back support for a while based on their general vitality.

However a huge part of my clientele when I sold beds were people returning their bed in a box, most frequently Purple, who had horrible experiences. So I’ll admit I got an extremely biased view of them from that standpoint.

But the really shady thing is that Purple won’t disclose their fire retardant. See, mattresses in the US (and many place internationally I think?) have to adhere to fire safety protocols. Why? Because before that was a thing beds would go up like bombs and were considered extremely dangerous in the event of a fire.

Most major bed brands use like Kevlar fibers. There’s chemical treatments that can work too and some folks get pretty worked up about it. The fact is that cheap mattresses basically always have a really dicey flame retardant which brings us to-

Fiberglass! Now, Purple, along with a ton of other bed in boxes, has had a slough of customers pissed off because they’d taken off the cover and suddenly all their stuff including bodies were covered in fiberglass. It honestly makes sense because they have to use something and at the price point it has to be cheap.

Now, Purple swears up and down that it doesn’t use fiberglass but really damningly they don’t say what they do use. A reputable company will just say what their flame retardant is because it’s common enough that consumers want to know.

Their insistence that it isn’t fiberglass while silent about its actual nature is highly suspect. I expect it’s either a thing so close to fiberglass that branding is the only thing keeping it separate or it’s a shady chemical they don’t want to divulge either.

TLDR: Not a brand I’d recommend.

I wish would talk about how trans men aren't just seen as poor delusional girls, but also scary predatory men as well.

A big part of the rapid onset gender dypshoria is social contagion, as in evil trans boys spreading their icky transmasculinity to all his friends. In this, trans men aren't just the brainwashed, but also brainwashers, similar to lesbophobia, where the little girls are getting seduced into lesbianism by evil predatory dykes

Oh god yes. Tbh I kinda get annoyed when people sum up anti-transmasculinity as just "poor delusional girl" for one because I question how much that phrase really communicates the insidious nature of the misogyny we are being targeted with. But also because it's very much NOT the end all be all of our oppression.

I think a fundamental part of misogyny has always been the way that feminized people (people placed in the role of daughter/sister/wife/mother) can both be a vulnerable resource in need of careful management AND a threat to that resource. The fact that we have minds that can think and do things that do not benefit the patriarchy make us a threat to the bodies that it uses to profit and maintain power. We are the sheep and the wolf.

Anyways read "“The Transgender Craze Seducing Our [Sons]”; or, All the Trans Guys Are Just Dating Each Other" by Cassius Adair and Aren Aizura; it's not exactly about this but it does discuss how transmasculinity is conceptualized as a disease which trans men infect others with through exposure. Also it's a really horny article and it rocks.

The most important thing is to know how to use your resources! And those are: mouth, eyes and eyebrows. All the other stuff? unimportant

Pro tip: If the eyebrows are really close to the eyes the sense of anger is so much stronger and better, and pupils plays a really important role!

Please remember that face muscles are connected! If only one part of your face moves it would look weird and unnatural. (and if you want, adding wrinkles always adds depth)

In my perspective learning to simplify emotions and expressions is such an important tool to identify the essentials parts of it.

I don’t know maybe im not that good at teaching but I hope it helps at least a little bit!
