This brings him back to a simpler time. Before the H act, before the DRBs, before MCD broke up, before Nemu…. Never mind.

Taking care of someone makes him feel good. Of course he’s not happy that you’re sick! But he… likes that you reach your hand out for him when he stands up. He likes that he was the first one you messaged about your cold. And he likes that you trust him enough to be this vulnerable to.

He’s gentle with you. Light touches and even lighter kisses to your forehead. He gives you cold packs and hot pads when you ask. He’ll stay at the side of your bed and text angry replies to any of the Yakuza members who try to call him back to base.

He’s really good at taking care of you when you’re sick. He treats you like you’re just about to blow away with any gust of wind. His deep, smooth voice whispers words of comfort and concern in your ears. Samatoki will always keep a hand on your back when you’re laying in bed just so you know he’s here to care for you.

He could go without having to cook for you though. If he had it his way he’d just buy you meat buns and fried rice as a quick ‘love you baby feel better’ meal but nooooo. You insisted on soup- homemade soup- and now Samatoki has to buy carrots and celery and other icky things he doesn’t like touching or eating.

He pretends that the reason he’s giving you the whole pot of soup to keep is that he’s just such a gentlemen. But after you prodding and prodding for him to eat some because it’s so yummy he reveals that he just hates carrots and veggies lol.

If you want to he’ll sleep over! But just a warning, he runs naturally hot in body temperature so you may not want to cuddle if you have a fever hehe. Or do, he certainly wouldn’t mind >.€

Since you shared some behind the scenes verse details with me, I wanted to share some ideas I have cooking for a verse with you!!

This is for the very silly and self-indulgent Little Red Riding Hood AU I thought of a zillion years ago, and it's very much under construction still haha. I've changed a lot of things about the premise from that original post, so here's a breakdown of the idea (with spoilers!) plus a small scene snippet from the beginning of the fic:

Little Red Riding Hood AU:

Fairy tale setting - so think hand-wavingly feudalist kingdom in fantasy land, very 10th Kingdom in its approach.

(Side tangent: 10th Kingdom is an excellent miniseries that I love dearly from the 90s - it features a character named Wolf who is the love interest. No one who's been following me for any length of time would be surprised to discover that I had a massive childhood crush on this man lmfao definitely formative media for me ✨)

Jason is a knight of the realm (who wears a red riding hood ;) ) and his adoptive father Bruce holds a wooded country estate. Sent to war (and presumed dead (!)), Jason hasn't been home in years. He's coming home now, ahead of official correspondence correcting this misconception.

Along the way to Wayne Manor he stops to hunt, but that movement in the bushes wasn't prey; he accidentally grazes a lone wolf. And the wolf isn't very happy about that.

Reminder that this is fairy tale universe; the wolf's cheeks are ruddy, his thick black hair hangs in his pale blue eyes. He's a beautiful creature - but Jason knows better than to let his guard down. Wolves are clever, and that makes them dangerous. They're untrustworthy, and liable to bite. (Enormous prejudice against wolves in fairy tale land that will be unpacked later ;) )

This is, naturally, one big misunderstanding - the wolf thinks Jason attacked him on purpose and lashes out, and Jason's not about to sit back and let a wolf kill him. They get into a scuffle (riddled with banter and sexual tension of course) that only ends when Jason has him pinned to the forest floor with a blade against his throat-- but he hesitates to kill him.

As they catch their breath, they realize their errors, and Jason gets a name out of him. Delivered with no small amount of sass.

“My, Tim, what a big mouth you have,” Jason says dryly. “Don’t make me say it,” the wolf, whose name is apparently Tim, groans. But his pale eyes flash yellow as they flicker down the length of Jason’s body to the place their hips have met, his pink tongue swiping out to wet his lip. Jason catches sight of a sharp white fang, and abruptly his breeches feel tighter across the front. “But it’s right there,” Jason says absently, leaning in closer almost against his will. He doesn’t mean for his knife to break skin, but Tim’s throat bobs against the edge as he swallows, calling up a thin red line. Jason can feel the rush of his breath, soft across his own chin. He watches, fascinated, as the black swallows the blue of Tim’s eyes. “Fine, Sir Red-Riding-Hood. The better to taste you with, you brute,” he murmurs, and Jason closes the gap between them.

After, they part ways, both satisfied with the encounter and with the happy memories they'll be keeping for long nights ahead. ;)

Jason advises Tim not to sneak about in these woods if he can help it; he'd hate it if Tim were reduced to nothing more than a pelt adorning some hunter's wall. Tim teases back that Jason himself might prefer that honor, then melts back into the shadowed boughs of the forest. Goddamn.

aw, a happy ending! Right?

When Jason gets home, shocking Bruce and Alfred with his arrival (and the whole 'not dead' thing) (i'm still waffling on whether Jason knew about his presumed death lmao) Jason himself is shocked to discover that the son of their tragically departed neighbors the next county over, who has been staying with Bruce and Alfred for most of the years since Jason's departure, is none other than Tim. The wolf Jason just said his farewells to yesterday in the woods.

Cue the rest of the fic.

A discord message I sent to a friend when I was explaining Jason and Tim's feelings about this mutual revelation of their identities:

Jason, pulling Tim aside and whispering harshly: what do you think you're doing here, do they know you're a wolf, what are your intentions did you think to replace me-- Tim, whispering equally harshly: I swear I had no idea who you were, but youve been gone for years you have NO idea what it's been like while you were away, so don't you DARE-- Jason: I was AT WAR-- Tim: AND I THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, HOWEVER--

Obviously, they fall in love.

Dude I hear ya (¬_¬) It's literally my biggest pet peeve with the radioapple ship. I'm sorry but I cannot fathom Lucifer as a UwU shy baby. And Alastor a big alpha man? Please. If any of them were a big alpha man, it'd be Lucifer, let's be real.

You know, the thing is, I don't really mind Lucifer having shy little UwU moments or Alastor being all big, tough, and domineering - they've both had moments like that in the show. It's when their entire characters get boiled down to these specific tropes/characteristics that I want to start ripping my hair out.

At this point, I just scroll past content like that really fast, or I just block the creator - not out of resentment of malice toward them, I'm just a big believer in fans curating their own fandom experience. If I don't enjoy certain content, however innocent and harmless it is, I'm going to keep it from showing up in my feed. I'm here to have a good time, I'm not gonna spend it consuming stuff I don't enjoy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's how I got most of my Twitter feed full of bottom!Alastor now. I rarely come across top!Alastor anymore and it's been great. I'm having a fantastic time.

Doing domestic chores with Ramuda. The boring, the basic, the things you do not because you enjoy it- but because you have to. But if it’s with you, Ramuda doesn’t really mind it.

Because it makes him feel normal.

Doing dishes with you- helping you dry the dishes as you wash them in the sink. Teasing you with soapy bubbles as you jokingly push him off, pretending that he’s being annoying. Sneaking kisses on your neck, wrapping his hands on your hips, everything you respond with reminds him more and more why he fell in love with you.

You’re in charge of vacuuming the carpet while he sweeps the hardwood and tiles. But being apart from you is so boring!! He’s desperate for a slick of your attention he claims he needs a personal instruction in how to sweep (he does this everytime). You tend to ignore him and he eventually just does it himself so you can finally pay attention to him.

Fixing the bed is literally impossible. He just wants to cuddle in bed with you! You ask him to tuck in the corners as you flatten out the sheets but he just tackles you into bed the moment you aren’t paying attention to him. This time, it actually works because he’s just so nice to cuddle with.

With the other chores, he acts similar to these. Always trying to draw your attention away, claiming that he’s too cute for you to ignore. But no matter how much it seems like he’d rather do anything else than help you with chores- he enjoys spending this time with you. Because it makes him feel normal. It makes him feel human.

ooo omg. so many thoughts! 

I usually play platform games with my sister, so it was A Change for us to play a game with that sort of like.. tasks that you gotta do to progress in the game. For us, at times, we struggled to figure out what exactly the mission was.

So in contrast, it reallyyyy shows how used dnp are to that sort of games? Like, they were playing with so much ease, they didn't have any "wtf are we supposed to do" moments. They got the tools & were like RIGHT LETS GOOO, not needing to even experiment with what their tools do (other than to know which buttons to press). They were so fast at solving the puzzles using those tools without any struggles. it was. Even in boss battles, it didn't take them any time to figure out /how/ to beat them. Fascinating.

(The mechanisms and tools change constantly as the players progress, so I’m interested to see if they continue to be like this, or if they will get confused eventually lol)

For the gameplay itself, I loved how they stuck with the roles assigned to them by the game. As in, for missions where the characters were each assigned a task (one controls the platforms as the other jumps, one is required to open the door for the other, etc), they didn’t even consider switching controllers. For us, we kept switching controllers to do things ourselves (instead of screaming at the other player to do This Specific Thing),

but for them, Dan didn’t let Phil even try out the hammer when he mentioned wanting to use it. I think it’s the whole “lets experience the game how the devs developed it” mentality Dan has. Or maybe it's just that they didn't struggle enough to reach that point of wanting to switch yet lol

DESPITE THAT, in other missions where the 2 characters could choose which role to play, it was apparent that they had a preference on which role each wanted. Loved that contrast idk

Also something I already mentioned that others also pointed out is that Dan is really good at paying attention to what Phil is doing while still playing well himself. He is constantly giving direction, he’s praising Phil, he’s laughing at his failures, he’s just looking at his screen n commenting. idk, I find that reeaaaally sweet <3

Do you have any good Reverse Robin AU fic recs? Every one I've read has Red Hood!Tim who is way better at being Red Hood than Jason and outsmarts everyone, and as well written as some of them are it always rubs me the wrong way.

Been wondering for a while if you have any other headcanons for your adult Ruki 🤔🙏

Ah... well, since you asked for "headcanons" it means I can go wild and ignore some of the canon, right? :3c

She had her "gay" awakening when she was watching "Digimon Adventure" while she was baby (about the age she had in the Locomon movie flashback), specifically the ep with princess Mimi. She didn't realized it until she grew up (prob in her 20s). Thanks to that, Rumiko "misread" the mood and thought Ruki wanted cute dresses and be pretty.

She's an AiM fan (thanks to Mimi), which would explain her fixation with "Yuuhi no Yakusoku", that's her fav song and has a soft spot for "My Place" too. She also listens to RAISE A SUILEN (because you know, I'm a RAS oshi too hehe).

She became a morning person quite easily thinking on how she wanted to work hard so when she meets Renamon again, they won't laugh at her for being lazy.

She's very polite, having studied in an "Ojousama" school until highschool but she's very careful to whom she greets with "Gokigenyou", she will NEVER use it with the tamers group but she does knows how to keep up appearances when needed.

The modeling job her mom "forced" her to do was with genderless clothes and during her last months of working as a model, she did more sports and formal suits (skirts were forbbiden); this gave her quite the popularity among girls and women ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). She's thankful she has to use a helmet while riding her bike to hide her face.

Juri will always touch the "you were very ikemen as a model" topic from time to time ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

She used her model job money for her motocross gear and bikes.

Unfortunately for her, she became famous among the motor sports world and had to "become" a model again for magazines and interviews, the good thing is that she wears her gear and not "modeling" clothes. She's still popular among ladies ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

She tries to be a good example to the kids she teaches bouldering, unfortunately (again) there are moms who are very interested in her ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

She regrets very much accepting being a model at this point (but now I find it very funny XDDD help)

During summer, she does radio exercises with kids and her stamp is actually a kawaii fox instead of her last name; when older kids ask why the stamp is like that she just says "I like foxes, they are cool", younger kids don't question it as it is a cute fox.

Jian and Juri are the ones she constantly keeps in touch with; Juri is the one who almost has time to go and see her competitions everytime and she drags Hirokazu and Kenta with her, Ruki appreciates the gesture.

She developed quite the motherly instincts thanks to the kids she's been teaching in the park; then she realized that "oh, so kids are only cute and adorable when they aren't your own" but she is not so against the idea of being a mother herself (Let her adopt Miyuki and Renaharu uwu).

Once in a while, depression actually hits her so you will find her on long bike rides at night with not an specific destination. She decided she was not going to cry anymore so at the end of her rides, she might need to hit something.

She's bad at drinking and becomes a drunk terminator, at the end of her destruction, she cries so, she prefers to avoid drinking but she can do it in moderation.

Thanks to her motocross career, she moved out of her house and lives in a relatively big apartment (model money is convenient); she lives alone but Juri has often suggested to live together, Ruki is not really ready for it yet.

Living alone means taking care of yourself so she's actually a good cook and procures to stay healthy (and buffy), cooking is a hobby she didn't expect to develop but here she is.

She keeps a few plants that does not need much water as she's out most of the time, but surprinsingly she keeps her apartment tidy and clean.

One time she was on TV (thanks to her competition being aired) and got interviewed upon winning; later that week people connected the dots and said she was one of the kids who were fighting the D-reaper and had to ask Jian and Yamaki for help since it went viral (let's say that they did some things here and there that might or not be illegal).

From time to time, she takes Juri on her bike rides (when she doesn't has to do extra work for her school) and the one place she always takes Juri to, is the beach because it reminds her the ONE time she got trapped in Okinawa thanks to a certain Omegamon asking for her help to defeat Mephismon and how she was able to go back thanks to Kyuubimon that miraculously, knew how to swim. When Juri asked why she didn't asked for Jian and Takato's help (or Minami's), she said it was very embarrassing to owe money and favors; but she keeps in mind that if she ever finds this Omegamon again, she will have a few things to say.

I've already said this but, she collects the new Digica, overall Renamon evo line cards. She also collects Digimon plushies. V-mon and Tailmon being among her favs (me? pushing my biases? Noooooo of course noooooo).

Ryou will often try to get in touch and get her to compete in Digica tournaments; Ruki refuses saying she will only do it if the fate of the world and Digital World are at stake, never for fun; only in private and with friends (those friends being Hirokazu, Kenta and Ryou who are the only other nerds to get cards).

She's in good terms with Ryou to be honest; they have a good relationship and he already apologized for forgetting about her when they were kids. Ruki still doesn't knows why she can't hold that grudge anymore but she considers him a good friend so when Jian or Juri don't have time, she will chat with Ryou and share their problems. Their fav subject is sharing their adventures before meeting each other and new booster packs of the Digica or discussing the new Digis designs.

Speaking of new Digis, she likes Diarbbitmon and is gay for Cendrillmon.

Also speaking of Digica, there was one time when Shaochung was eager to learn but Jian ain't teaching her for whatever reason so she went to Ruki who, happily showed how to play. They are in very good terms, even Shaochung would often brag with her friends and classmates how she knows the Digimon Queen (and motocross pro) Makino Ruki. She keeps calling her "Ruki onee-chan" btw.

She would be on good terms with Takato if only he would have stuck around instead of disappearing xD so she holds a grudge towards him for "abandoning" Juri; this is the main reason Ruki will try to spend time with Juri the most she can. Who knows, maybe she can wooo her ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Speaking of Juri, I think Ruki realized she liked her when they were teens but out of respect for Takato she stayed quiet, for YEARS. Also Juri secretly collected Ruki's photos from her modeling days (⁠ ⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)

I know that for the sake of the CD dramas, Ori-san had to do her usual "Ruki" voice, but I actually picture Ruki having a different Ori-san voice, something between Riza (FMA Brotherhood) and Manami (Digimon Ghost Game).
