This just came to me for everypony in Sherlock hooves what type of pony is everyone (I know john,mummy hooves and Mrs.Herdson at unicorns and sherlock and his siblings are earth ponies) what made you guys think to make theme a Unicorn, earth pony, or Pegasus?

Again, some ponies have been shown or described, but a few others haven’t. We did do a brief writeup on some such as Sally Sheilds and Bunsen that you can find here.

As for why, We wanted a diverse cast, but given the heavy Unicorn population of Canterlot, we knew those would be a bit more prevelent. Sherlock and Mycroft being Earth Ponies was done because we wanted to show that they (especially Sherlock) don’t need magic to be amazing or skilled at what they do. Trotson we made a unicorn because it was felt that unicorns seem very good at healing magic. It became a serendipitous move as the Watson we based him on (Martin Freeman’s John Watson in BBC Sherlock) actually loves unicorns (though we don’t know if he’s seen MLP or likes -those- unicorns XD).

Talon, the gryffon who appeared in the first and third episodes, was made so because we wanted our mysterious Professor to have someone who is a marksman, and as gryffons are a more aggressive race (some exceptions not withstanding), we thought the choice was a good fit. 

Hope that explains a few things. We choose ponies to be what and who they are due to what their personalities and their skills are, as well as just what feels right for the character in stories, especially the ones that are adapted. I did buy some medicine which -hopefully- should work.

I'd stick to warm water for the time being though,in case tea affects the medicine's effectiveness.

So what are the other ponies like mrs.Herdsons and Trotlend yards cutiemarks?

WELL! We’re glad you asked. Sadly, few of the other prominent ponies in the show have had their cutiemarks drawn (something that shall be fixed soon!) but their concepts have been in the works a while. Some have been done. Like Inspector LeStride’s Sun-shield:

And the cutiemarks of the various Hooves family members:

1. Mummy Hooves (Gracious Sharing/Grace Hooves), whose star-shaped mark is inspired by a real magic symbol.

2. Daddy Hooves (Mannerly Hooves/Manners Hooves), with the Sun (symbol for weather and Celestia) and two different colored feathers crossing. This stands for his duties as a diplomat (yes, Daddy Hooves is an Equestrian Diplomat!) and his skills with negotiation and civility.

3. Mycroft Hooves and her umbrella (see the short Family Manners for that explanation).

4. Sharingford Hooves, with an open ledger to symbolize her skills as an accountant, and her ability to micro-manage anything.

As well as characters who we shan’t mention as they’re spoilers!

But here are descriptions of a few other important characters’ cutiemarks!

Sally Shields: A scroll-top shield bearing the Sun and Moon symbols, showing her service as a protector.

Bunsen: An erlenmeyer flask with a bubbly mixture inside and a small flame underneath. This of course stands for his fixation on chemistry and ties to his job as a forensics investigator.

Mrs. Herdson: A teacup and spoon; the teacup has a rose design on it. This not only stands for her care-giving nature, but for her old-world elegance. The roses are a nod to the English Rose, a national symbol for England, and an acknowledgement to the show’s root source.

 Soon we’ll have both cutiemark and character concept sheets for all the ponies in the show, but we’re taking time to build and solidify our ideas. Be sure to keep an eye out though. And FEAR NOT! We are working hard at our next pieces of major content.

So how many episodes are there per season of Sherlock hooves? And how many are you guys planning to do?

Well, we’ve got 10 episodes planned total for Season One, with episodes 4 an 5 currently in development. The rest are either fully scripted and waiting, or are being written on as members find time (offline life takes a lot, you know).

And as for seasons, we have 2 total planned, though we may cut the number of episodes in season 2; but that’s up for debate! 

Just know that we have a lot of great things planned and we’re working to make sure the wait is worth it.
