Disney princess anon here, don't worry, I loved reading your complete ranking, especially your reasoning for placing Belle as number 1, it's very similar to my own thoughts! And I must admit that the idea of a Gothic Heroine Princess Snow White intrigues me, might expanding on it?
of course!
so, say belle is of a type with jane eyre, or with the second mrs. de winter: the gothic heroine who braves the old dark castle and all its horrors, and saves the man, or the monster, or both, trapped inside it. snow white, on the other hand, is the terrorized innocent of the genre. think antonia from the monk. think ellena di rosalba from the italian. she is the gothic heroine who *begins* trapped in the old dark castle, with horrors that dog her heels even as she flees for her life. and, as is often the case for gothic heroines, her innocence is as much a liability as a salvation. the dwarfs and the huntsman were moved enough by it to spare her and protect her, but it is also the reason why grimhilde ultimately succeeds in killing her at all (even if the death is only temporary).
and, speaking of grimhilde! for me, personally, the most important and interesting part of the genre has always been the way that the family is destroyed or twisted, and snow white has the most dangerous family out of any disney princess: not a parental figure who would trap her, or lie to her, or mistreat her, however cruel all those things are, like lady tremaine or mother gothel - but one who actively wishes her dead, and one who uses arcane dark magic about it, no less, in a way that would not be out of place among the faux-medieval horrors that the early gothic authors dreamed up.
hell, now that i think about it, if you changed up the names and dressed up the first act of the movie in a good helping of purple prose and called it something like “a romance of bavaria,” you could probaby pass it off as the beginning of a lost 18th century gothic.
#this ask is not about grimhilde as a gothic villain but honestly with all this said#i am drawing a thread not between her and the gothels and maleficents and tremaines#but with the one disney villain who actually DID crawl out of a gothic novel#that being of course claude frollo#;ask me your questions and get some answers.#;dream factory.

Hello!
What is your opinion about the animations Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time?
Would you like live-action versions inspired by these animations with actors Lily James and Richard Madden?
@reescrever-as-estrelas I am so sorry for the late answer, I thought this ask got deleted when I lost connection trying to post it, but I just found it safe in my drafts! I saw Twist more often than Dreams, so my opinion might be stale! But I liked both movies when I was younger. Then when I re-watched them, I liked them even more.
After seeing movies like Ever After my knee-jerk reaction to seeing a "Cinderella" character that does covert rebellious acts and works to do things her own way is to get indignant. Because Cinderella doesn't do that. Other characters can do that. But Cinderella obeys her stepmother's wishes and works to make things pleasant for others, even when they're cruel. She doesn't hit back. She doesn't disobey. That's not her.
So when she's doing things her own way instead of The King's (Prunella's) way, or creeping around the castle trying to fight back against the stepmother in Twist, I'd usually be like "no, that's the thing, she's kind and does what would make others happy!"
But see. That's only Cinderella before she marries the Prince. Once she's his wife, she becomes the head woman of that household. Then all of the loving, kind, gentle, caring virtue she always had is meant to turn that household (it just so happens to be a palace and a kingdom, now) into a place of welcome and comfort.
Also, she becomes responsible for the Prince's heart, and the King's, now that he's family too, and living in her home. So the Stepmother and Prunella can't just waltz in and make life harder l, or simply not-as-good-as-it-could be, same-old-same-old, for the men Cinderella's loving. Cinderella is now responsible for them just as much as she felt responsible for the mice, and keeping them safe from Lucifer in her own kind, peace-making way.
It's very in line with her character, once she's part of that family and has the role of "wife" and "Princess," to take those new responsibilities and act accordingly—she's still the kind of girl who tries to make things better for everyone, even her enemies or rivals.l
That's what I love about the Anastasia storyline (which everyone loves, I'm not alone in that.) Cinderella is always kind to Anastasia. She is the only person who sees the good in Anastasia, because she's the kind of girl who's already looking for "her good points." Like she tells Bruno to do about Lucifer in the original. That's the thing I think people don't get about the Disney Cinderella—she doesn't just dream of a happy life where everything is beautiful. She dreams of the best version of the people around her.
Anyway, back to your question! I think a Live Action with either of these plots would work, but personally, I wouldn't want to see Twist made Live action. I don't think Disney would keep Cinderella's kindhearted, selfless character intact if they're given any kind of chance to make her an "action" hero, and having Cinderella sneak around the castle trying to get a wand, confronting her Stepmother, and wrestling her way out of a demonic pumpkin is a little too much chance. But I'd love to see Kit jump out the window.
If I ever got the chance to write a sequel to Cinderella 2015, I would go in a totally different direction. The movie said the stepmother and stepsisters left the Little Kingdom and never stepped foot in it again. But I'd have them go to Zaragosa with the banished Grand Duke (that's the slightly sinister kingdom that wanted Kit to marry their Princess in the first movie.) Then I'd have them try to bring trouble to the Little Kingdom from there.
And I'd probably just put Ella under more strain to do the right thing and be kind to her stepfamily, even now that she's a Princess. And I'd make it harder for Kit to be courageous.
I'd do that by doing two very risky kind of things. The first thing is, I'd have Ella lose her first child during pregnancy, like Anne of Green Gables does. And I know that's a very heavy topic. But I think I would hint that it's because of how half-starved (remember when the servant girl said "you don't look well miss. Not well at all. Why do you stay there when they treat you so?") and poorly treated she was, and how her health had been taking a hit, right before getting pregnant, before she got out of Lady Tremaine's reach. Then, Ella is forced to realize that her stepfamily kind of indirectly were responsible for this new heartache, when she expected everything to be happily-ever-after.
Then I would put Ella in danger from something else. Either her health continues to be poor, or (and I like this better) she goes to Zaragossa under false diplomatic pretenses and gets trapped there by the stepmother. Because after the scare with the miscarriage, plus being in danger, then Kit, the newly married King, would struggle to figure out how to do the right and courageous thing without acting out of fear for his wife's sake. Meanwhile she's trying to figure out how to be kind now that her stepfamily's making trouble for her again, and their harsh treatment caused her to lose a child.
That sort of ups the anti, and the challenge to "have courage and be kind." Because I think one of the kindest and most courageous things you can do is forgive, and not take revenge. And we know Ella said "I forgive you," to Lady Tremaine, but it's very hard to live out forgiveness when you wind up seeing the person again, or they won't quit making a nuisance of themselves.
And then I'd end it VERY happily, where Anastasia and Drisella (at least) get a sort of happy ending of their own, and Ella's skill as a nurturing Queen would come into its climax, and she and Kit would be EVEN kinder and EVEN more courageous in the face of EVEN worse circumstances.
That's what I would do. But I don't know, maybe that's all too dark for the fairy-tale-Pride-&-Prejudice vibes the first movie had.

I know in your Canon Descendants project most of them are already out of their kids’ lives while they’re still pretty young, but just as a fun little thought experiment: what villains do you think would be the best parents?
Hmmm
Oh-Anastasia hands down. She’s one of the only villainy villains to have an actual redemption and learn to be kind and she definitely resolves to be the exact opposite of Lady Tremaine, plus look at The Baker- that man is hands down Good Dad material
Besides her? Well, none of them are stellar parents, but the ones who are probably the least damaging? Mad Maddy’s parents are probably just kookily horrid but in a fun like Addams family type way and she’s the same for the most part so they have fun.
The Queen of Hearts is probably an actually quite attentive and loving mother if she treats her kids the same as the king, always using her anger in their defense and never at them.
Mr Smee would treat his kids right for sure. Hmm yeah I think that’s about it for best parents xD

Something that I noticed about the early Disney Princess movies is that the villains are not that bad looking (attractive even), however you can tell that they are evil regardless compared to our more kind and caring protagonists. It's like what Roald Dahl said in "The Twits". To paraphrase a little, a person with good thoughts can never be truly ugly for said thoughts will always shine out of their person, but a person with ugly thoughts will show until you can barely stand to look at them.
#ask#thej13579#couldn't resist because i think this cap illustrated your point the best since vanessa's a certified baddie but when the ursula comes out..#but yes!! i quite agree#i think people overlook that grimhilde tremaine maleficent etc etc were all traditionally attractive and animated to reflect as such

22. Best physical feature
21. Drink of choice (not just alcoholic)
1. Canon I outright reject
4. Favorite line
Anthony Tremaine<3
22. Best physical feature
His hair. I honestly think he probably has the best hair of anyone on the isle. It's swoopy, it's soft, it's shiny. Nobody keeps up with their hair care and routine like Anthony Tremaine. Besides that, he thinks that his face is really attractive, he has good skin care too. Even though Harriet won't admit it when he's in ear shot
21. Drink of choice (not just alcoholic)
You bet your ass it's alcoholic. This man hardly drinks anything that's not alcoholic. He gives bourbon and whiskey vibes.
1. Canon I outright reject
Anthony is actually one of the best written canon characters in the books in my opinion. His personality is everything. He's unbothered, he has a massive ego, and he gives zero fucks, even the way he interacts with his friends was amusing and fun to me. There might be something in there that I don't like but I honestly can't think of anything rn, I adored him in those books.
4. Favorite line
"If you're back it sure looks like Auradon's sending their trash to the Isle of the Lost again, doesn't it." He ATE. It's also great when he just randomly starts speaking French

How does a mean lady with no power make a name for herself as a Disney Villain alongside witches and gods?
"Power is a curious thing. There are those suited to possess it, and those who are not. Power itself cannot make an inept fool formidable. One must be formidable first and powerful second, or else one might find themselves to be a bumbling fool like Cinderella's Fairy Godmother. I, on the other hand, have always possessed refinement, intelligence, and the ability to command authority equal to any other villain. From there, why, it's simply a matter of finding the right opportunity."

For the ship thing...
Uma, Gil, and Harry.
Or Ginny, Harriet, and Anthony.
Give your brutally honest opinion on either of these.
I'm gonna do both!
Uma/Harry/Gil
I love reading sea three!
But interestingly enough, I haven't written them yet. I don't think I could write Gil Correctly.
But also, Gil is very much the grounding element and reduces the chaos slightly. Not much, because Uma and Harry are both hot headed and loud-opinion people, but, yeah. He brings stability.
And we can't have that ✨ (obviously we can and I love that fir them but chaos is more fun)
Harriet/Anthony/Ginny
Yes. I love them. They're so bad for eachother (affectionate).
None of them is telling the truth about their feelings, which somehow makes it easier to write. Show don't tell I guess?
Also all of them (or at least Harriet and Anthony) are perpetually having a bad time and will let everyone know that, thank you for asking.
Just.
Them.

Hi! Do you have any headcanons about Dizzy and Anthony Tremaine's relationship with each other?
more about the whole tremaine family rather than just dizzy and anthony but
- the adults are always arguing, so the kids are never home. drizella married hans, and they’re always arguing. drizella and lady Tremaine are usually arguing, and anastasia hasn’t gotten involved in family anything since the baker (her husband) died.
- when they were younger and these arguments happened, anthony and anne (drizella’s oldest kid) would play games with the others. they still do this with dizzy.
- oh yeah, so far this is my lay out of tremaine kids:
anastasia’s kids: anthony (19), rosalie (17), suzanne (15)
drizella’s kids: anne (18), marcelle (17), dizzy (14)
will probably make more eventually but this works for now
- drizella is the one who’s more physically abusive, but everyone except anastasia are emotionally abusive
- the kids are scattered among gangs (anthony is a pirate, dizzy is in mal’s gang, a few probably don’t belong to any one gang) but they’ll help each other, even if it means breaking gang alliances
- everyone is legally required to protect dizzy. and suzanne, since she’s only a year older than dizzy, but even she protects her younger cousin.
- dizzy initiates family dances. anthony cannot dance but will kill anyone who points it out. marcelle is the best dancer anyone ever seen.
- they do each others hair
- if they’re not found in the salon, they’re probably in the bakery, which they turned into a hide out after the baker died. rosalie practically lives at the salon, and anne at the bakery.
- hans made sure his kids got decent educations, and also taught them manipulation tactics. anthony and anne are the most manipulative in the family, but their cousins and siblings see through it.
- they used to be forced to go to church, but they stopped when they all left home

Hello are requests still open for villains that you will write a smut alphabet for? It looks like in your bio you don't take requests but I can't find any other posts. It's ok if not. 😅 I saw you have no other asks right now so Im just asking. Love your work
Unfortunately, no. I still have one alphabet to do that's from... Last year. I'm really sorry to the sender of that alphabet request 😣 it's in my drafts, and that's why my inbox is zero at the moment; it's in my drafts box. But I don't feel comfortable taking in another request for that until I finish the one that desperately needs to be done.
But thank you so much!!! It's so comforting and flattering to see you guys like my horny thoughts 😆 ^^ it genuinely is. I'm still new to NSFW writing, so this helps a lot to see so many are interested in my takes on these characters!! I'm trying to get better at requests. And thank you very much for asking before sending the request ^^
If you want to send in asks gushing about characters, or my thoughts on them (simple asks like what I think a character prefers, what i thinm about a headcannon of yours, or just what I think about them in general are way easier to do than requests and you can absolutely send those in ^^), I'd love to see it!! ^^
#its about Tremaine for those who want to know#i just... I dont know what it is about her. i love her!#but its hard for me to write her for some reason#not to mention the fact that a lot has happened in my life the past few months#i dont mean to excuse myselfthough#anons#asks

How do Anasasia, Drizella and their mother live out the rest of their lives when Cinderella left and did any of them make ammends with her?
Well, Anastasia for sure ends up with the Baker and becomes friends with Cinderella after Cinderella 3/the timeline gets back on track. They eventually have the Canon Descendants version of Anthony. She and Cinderella actually become real friends after all the drama.
Drizella per my Canon Descendants ends up with the Grand Duke xD per the instructions of the King as a reward to her after she (much more reluctantly then Anastasia but still) has her own redemption arc. They have the Canon Descendants versions of Dizzy and her sisters. It's not precisely a happy marriage, but Drizella gets to be rich and titled and the Duke got a new estate and he does love his daughters so it evens out. She doesn't really hangout with Anastasia or Cinderella though, its a relationship that works better as long distance.
Lady Tremaine likely finally has her Disney Villain Fall Off of Something Tall on her final attempt to get revenge on Cinderella in whatever scheme Drizella has her semi-redemption arc in, which I'm still working out an idea for xD Though it very likely involves the ghost in the castle crypts...
Anyway here's a link to the Canon Descendants Cinderella kids

what the hell was that , you maniac ? @wickedlyrefined

❛ i can't believe you hid this from me. ❜ (drizella)

Do you have any headcanons about Dizzy Tremaine, and her and Anthony's relationship?
Yes!!
There was a sickness that went through the Isle when Dizzy was a baby. Almost every young kid got sick, and Dizzy was one of them. Thankfully, she didn't get it severely and had a pretty quick recovery, but her mother wasn't the one who took care of her during that time, it was Anastasia. Drizella and Lady Tremaine instead were taking care of all the other children and making sure they were quarantined from Anastasia and Dizzy.
During this time Dizzy bonded with Anastasia (who was more nurturing than her own mother), and even once she was back with her mother tended to want to be with Anastasia instead.
So, Drizella did practically shove Dizzy over. She saw it as a win as Anastasia only had two children while she had half a dozen.
Because Dizzy was always with Anastasia after this, and by extension Anthony, Anthony began to see her as another little sister who needs protection on the Isle.
Anthony actually got into a couple of arguments with his cousins over it. They insisted that just because Anastasia was taking care of Dizzy that didn't mean that Anthony got to claim her as a sister when she's their sister.
Eventually the argument ended, and instead became an inside joke in the Tremaine house.
Anthony helped teach Dizzy to sew and encouraged her to design outfits and accessories.
Dizzy has pulled Anthony into dancing with her before. He pretends to be annoyed but enjoys it. And since ballroom dancing is one of the tings their grandmother has them learn, no one questions it.
Because of his relationship with Harriet Hook, Dizzy also has protection from Harriet's pirate crew.
Dizzy started giving Anthony haircuts when she was ten. After that, no one else was allowed to mess with his hair.
Dizzy and Anthony make and tailor all of the Tremaine clothing together.
Anthony is the one who introduced Dizzy to Evie.
Dizzy sees Anthony as her big brother
When Evie left for Auradon, Dizzy felt abandoned as the older girl didn't even come to say goodbye. She shoved her design book away and didn't draw anything for a month. She didn't even beg to do anyone's hair. This caused Anthony to start disliking Evie, and by extension the rest of the Core Four.
Some evenings in the Tremaine house, when Dizzy isn't at the salon, Anastasia brushes out her hair and braids it while Dizzy tells her all about her day.
One of Dizzy's dreams is to meet Cinderella. While Drizella has nothing good to say about her, Anastasia does and Dizzy is more inclined to listen to Anastasia.
Oddly enough, Dizzy is close with her grandmother.
Dizzy sometimes asks Anastasia if she thinks Cinderella would like her - Anastasia always says she would.
Before leaving for Auradon, Dizzy promised Anthony that she'd get him off the Isle. He didn't have the heart to tell her that he doesn't believe he'll ever get off. Instead he tells her that he doesn't want her to come back, and instead he wants her to live happily in Auradon and not to worry about them.
Another headcanon is the Anastasia and her children weren't sent to the Isle until Anthony was five. So Anthony does in fact have memories of Cinderella, and despite not liking her anymore he tells stories about her to Dizzy because Dizzy loves them.
This causes Dizzy to refer to Cinderella as "Aunt Ella" when she's alone with Anastasia and her kids.
