Okay so as I was lying in the tub today, getting around to that self care where I turn off my homo sapiens and give the reins to postosuchus - not important, just setting the scene - it nevertheless occurred to me that while you MENTIONED geyuncles Killie and Derek having comically different sizes of dogs, you haven't yet followed up on that. Postosuchus me just wants to know the breeds, but homo sapiens was tickled about what names they'd have, if one comes from a background featuring such lovely monikers as Seabiscuit and Cobweb :)

feel like elodie is too feral to be a trojan but she'd make a mad good fox soooo they're bullying andreil and stealing the maserati 🥰🥰

robin's five percent more level than elodie is but whenever she's like maybe we shouldn't steal andrew's car what if we crash it elodie just gets more excited (i think she likes to blow things up a lot in my head) its funny cuz they think their being slick but andreil are literally watching them from the rooftop tryna hijack the car and failing so neil just throws his keys down

also i think it'd be cute if robin tried to learn french for elodie bcz she'd be fumbling the words excessively and elodie will be shaking her head like when's she gonna stop talking i want to kiss her. robin's also timid enough (to me) to receive jean's approval but ill go off about jean & elodie some other time (without crying)

Did you start watching The Owl House because of Lumity, and if so, was it before or after it became canon?

No I watched the show long before Lumity became a thing or was even hinted at. In fact when "I Was A Teenage Abomination" first aired I shipped Luz with Willow, not Amity like everyone else did.

I remember thinking "It sucks Amity's a bitch cause she has a nice design" 💀

owain: canonically can't sing but my hc is that he plays violin and piano beautifully. he grows a moustache when he's like eighteen like its a really thin horrible thing until he's twenty five and then it looks decent

elodie: is a lesbian. and has like no problem getting into relationships but they never last longer than three months so she has a whole bunch of ex girlfriends and all of the breakups are horrifically messy. average wunsoc member has ten ndas about their breakups statistical error. lesbians elodie who lives in the basement and has four bad and scandalous breakups every year for around twenty years is a statistical anomaly and should be ignored

ezra: an absolute prodigy at weaving. kind of mediocre at like normal schoolwork. that boy cannot structure an essay for the life of him

odbuoy: he does 90% of the pranks at proudfoot house but is really charismatic so he gets away with it most of the time

rastaban: has that beard all english teachers have like the scuff with the too-much moustache. also coiffs his hair with way too much product

griselda: really mean if you piss her off like the most cutting comments known to man but kind if you're polite. she looks super fragile but she can roundhouse kick someone

decima: her room is an acquarium with a bed in it and like no glass its just water woven so specifically that the fish stay in and the water doesn't touch her. she has a pet koi whom her predecessor owned and its huge

brilliance: loses all her reading glasses all the time. sub nine has them in almost every room because she takes them off her face and then forgets to bring them with her. every time

mathilde: really enjoys depressing and gothic poetry that no one else is into but they all listen to her recite it because she locked the doors and they can't get out

❤️ - How did your muse come to realize their romantic and sexual orientations? Was it difficult to accept? Are they proud of who they are?

elodie — at some point during the timeskip she became a teenager and started noticing things about people that she hadn't noticed before. it wasn't particularly difficult for her to accept that she was attracted to more than one gender, especially since there were queer people in her childhood, and i imagine the principality (where she ends up) is more open about sexuality than her tiny sheltered island was.

cian — honestly cian's still a little unsure about things. he hasn't had a lot of experience and the experience thus far wasn't enough to clarify everything. he definitely likes men 🤷‍♀️ he figured that one out for sure at 19 with a blacksmith apprentice. he's shy about affection and sexuality in general but that's not due to any shame about a specific sexuality, he's just Like That across the board.

🎶 - What kind of music does your muse listen to? Do they have a favorite genre? Do you think the aux cord would be taken away from them?

elodie — hmm this is tricky, i'm not quite sure yet? i imagine she'd have eclectic taste and enjoy slightly odd music, but i'm also leaning towards saying she'd be a hyperpop girlie. dissociating while blasting peppy tunes about misery is kind of the vibe.

cian — he gives me soulful singer-songwriter energy. guy who would curl up and have a bit of a cry to a noah kahan or mitski or dermot kennedy album. think he'd also like folk music and instrumental stuff.

🍡 - Can your muse cook? Can they bake? How well can they do either? Do they have any kitchen disaster stories?

elodie — she's a bad cook because her sibling alis was always a very good cook and therefore elodie had no real need to learn. she can make enough to survive but it won't taste good, and she'd always rather just buy a meal. baking is off the table completely.

So for some more details:

- I am fairly time-poor with a huge amount of commitments: Grownup Job Senior Promotion, three small kids on summer holidays/starting school, writing a novel fanfic for sick friend, peak growing/harvest season at allotment, etc. so im only offering “what I can actually deliver” at this time

- swan comic is a new idea, people like those don’t they? Not sure of how fundraising mechanism would work here but maybe taking prompts?

- not sure how essay would work but it’s probably my best/most appealing skill?

- material items in exchange for a minimum fixed amount. So offline I’m most known for material works. I’m not a BAD printmaker / craftworker and for this I would be looking at designing a sort of limited print run of greeting card style original hand printed prints. I know you guys aren’t familiar with this work from me, so this would involve a bit of trust that An Art from me would be worth at least £5 lmao. However it’s kind of nice to get something real in the mail right??

- super worried about fandom auction so this would be mostly a register of interest that I’d take to more experienced people and use as leverage to start an auction; I’m not in a great place to provide much actual legwork here. She is opposed to the universe and seeks change, but what is she doing? I could hardly imagine she is freezing time as Luke once did.

What is the doing to the Island Country?

Hi hi!! Thank you for your questions :D answering this one first before I hand the phone over to Mira and Crew 💚

This AU accepts the Islander Euphrasie theory (the theory that Euphrasie was originally from the Island, which is also often paired with the idea that her unusual height comes from the use of Wishcraft) as canon. When the King/Luke made his wish, due to Euphrasie’s role in the loops and as the Head Housemaiden, she ends up shunted into a version of herself she doesn’t recognize: a version of herself that never left the Island, who had a different name, who became married, who had a child.

Essentially, she has to deal with the agony of having lost her world and identity, having built up a community and life she is proud of and loves in spite of that, and then having everything torn from her grasp yet again. And now she has a husband she doesn’t remember and cannot love, a child she doesn’t recognize, and an entire life that can never truly be hers, because it’s Elodie’s, and because this version of Elodie should never have existed to begin with.

She can’t remember everything from the events in Vaugarde, can’t remember everything from her old life, but she remembers enough to know how much she lost, and she spirals. What was the point of her life—her work—everything she did to accept that she had to Change and adapt and grow in order to live—if the result was that her home—her life—would be arbitrarily taken from her yet again?

Then she snaps, her fury taking form through Wish and Change.

The Island was already forgotten. This version of the world only exists because of the King—the wretched King’s—selfish wish.

Vaugarde deserves to exist. The Change God deserves to live. And the Queen will make it so—under Change’s guidance.

With the god’s power, she will Change the Island country into Vaugarde. Leaf by leaf. Brick by brick.

Person by person.

And so comes the Queen’s Remaking. Her ability is not to Freeze and hold things Stagnant but to force them into a state of unending flux: enough such that entire swathes of land flicker back and forth from its usual terrain to its equivalent in Vaugarde, and enough such that any person she decides to Change enters into a state of constant change in which holding any identity—doing anything requiring will—becomes impossible. All that is left to them is the pain and inherent breaking in Change, and the Queen’s anger.

The people who fail to survive this process become the Furies: equivalent to the Sadnesses, except that they are not remnants, or even truly dead.

The Queen’s end goal is to set the entire Island country in flux, then to complete the Remaking: sacrificing the Island country to reinstate the Change God and, she hopes, to bring back Vaugarde as it was.

Yeah that one came to me in a vision.

The thing is that like most of my other niche rarepairings I just cannot resist the allure of Narrative Parallels™. Mostly I just realized how similar Elodie and Robin's stories are (in concept) and that they could actually be around the same age (considering Elodie would be around 15-16yo in 2007 and Robin joins the Foxes in 2009 after Kevin graduates, and assuming Robin didn't get held back due to the Horrors, that would put them at around a 1-2 year age difference).

So the basic concept for the AU is that Elodie survives and is rescued by Stuart during TSC and then brought over to the USA to live with Jean and the Trojans. This goes about as well as you would expect, which is to say not at all – she's heavily traumatized, barely speaks English for the first couple years, and is resistant to any kind of help that would result in her having to leave Jean's side. She also at first does not want anything to do with the other Trojans at all because she sees most of them as adults she can't trust and also resents them for monopolizing Jean's time, and none of these college sports players is anywhere near qualified for unpacking All of That.

Elodie and Jean effectively make each other's recovery worse for a long while because they immediately try and fall back to their childhood dynamic, which can no longer work for multiple reasons. But through Betsy Dobson all things are possible and eventually they get to a point where they aren't actively standing in each other's way anymore, though things are still Not Good.

It gets tough again when Jean graduates and they move out of LA, which just uproots what little stability Elodie had again, and he has developed a need to constantly check on her that cannot be good for his now even busier pro player schedule. Also, Elodie is almost 18, and at a point where she should be graduating high school and thinking about her future, which she very much is not doing because until a couple years ago she didn't even HAVE a future so she doesn't really know what to do with it.

They start floating the possibility of getting her into a community college or something in the state Jean's in, but eventually the possibility of having some strings pulled to get her into PSU is brought up, and Elodie latches onto it immediately, mostly because she both feels stifled by Jean's helicopter parenting AND kind of wants to punish him for not actually spending time with her by moving away. Jean doesn't want to let her, but he also doesn't really have a choice, and PSU might be far but at least he knows Elodie will have people there to reach out to if she needs it.

Joke's on Elodie though because going to college to annoy your brother does mean she just conned herself into taking classes and figuring out what to do with her life now and she has to do it while dodging 20 phone calls per hour. Anyway now that she's on PSU she has to learn how to do human person things like making friends. She ends up joining a roller derby team as a combo meeting people-getting exercise-venting anger deal.

Robin, on the other hand, is going through a similar situation where Andrew just graduated, and Neil is in his last year, so she's about to lose her anchors at PSU. Once Neil graduates, she won't have anyone to night practice with anymore, so she also joins the roller derby team to fill in her nights, in a way of trial-running how to maintain some sense of routine and normalcy and maybe make some friends as well.

And that is how the world's saddest most traumatized girls meet. They have no idea who the other really is at first because Elodie doesn't follow exy out of spite and they also don't tell each other their full names because they are very googlable and the team is for both of them a way to finding who they are outside of what happened to them, so they don't want to invite the past in there.

Neil figures it out pretty fast though, since he's been keeping an eye on Elodie, but he tells no one because he thinks it's going to be funny when Andrew and Jean (who absolutely hate each other) discover they're dating (He's right). The basic idea I have is that everyone kind of finds out at the same time when Andrew and Jean play against each other in a nearby city and both Elodie and Robin come to watch and it's a very spiderman pointing meme moment all around.

Getting to truly know each other then is a blessing and a curse because the similarities between their stories are as important as the differences. Elodie would have given everything to have parents that would want her back home and want to protect her and Robin would kill to have her family understand and relate to her trauma the way Jean does. Elodie genuinely cannot understand Robin's guilt over escaping by dooming another girl because she would have actively killed without remorse to break out. Robin doesn't get why Elodie is bitter over having to be rescued when she used to dream about someone finding and saving her. It's a very "grass is always greener on the other side" situation, and they clash a lot, but eventually they work it out.

I'm also thinking of having Robin being conflicted over whether she wants or even is capable of going pro (since as per the EC she technically wasn't good enough to be recruited if not for Andrew's constant endorsement). I'm not sure what Elodie would be majoring in, but that's fine because neither is Elodie. So that's something else they're both dealing with.

That's mostly what I have so far, I'm hoping some day this fic will grow a plot that can hold my attention so I can actually write it.
