Something I'd like to vent to you about - Stars and Stripes is the biggest narrative breaker in MHA one that is annoying to cater for and write in fic.
Because every issue in the story could solved by Star showing up and touching something I.e "I order Yagi Toshinori's wounds to heal."
Or even to Shig pre AFO takeover Star could have just come in ordered him to drop dead and he would have. Story done.
In fact - this woman is nearly as old as AM so why hasn't she shown up before with AM and tried to kill AFO the first time with Him? I'm just so frustrated with her broken quirk it takes all the fun out of writing her for me. Your thoughts?
@doodlegirl1998
Hi, so I was thinking about Star and....look, can we say Hori cares or think about his own damn story? No. Can we say Hori cares for AM? NO.
Let me give you an example: Fullmetal Alchemist has a character called Izumi who made a transmutation to revive her dead son...and the payment was she losing the ability to have a child (she lost the organ responsible for this, I don´t recall the details but damn it was crude and terrifying) and while it has some time since I saw the anime...Izumi could have got her organ back if she had sent the transmutted baby back to where it come from...except she doesn´t do that!
Now you are wondering what this has to do with AM?
Well, Izumi could have fixed her situation but chose not bc she had a son and will stick by him -even if he is not human- AM? We never see him ever attempting to fix himself.
Eri healing AM is a concept only one person ever draw. People in this fandom made theories and fic ideas for Eri rewind Shig to his Baby Tenko era but AM being fixed is not even on the top 5.
And why is that? I frankly blame Hori for making AM such a joke that no one would care.
But we never actually see AM trying to find a solution for his problem. Now, Star is HIS STUDENT. She looks up to him a lot-and I think AM has a good relationship with US-so technically she could have healed him asap. Hell, she could have done this secretly. "AM goes to the US for a secret mission, or so the media thinks...and Star heals him"
But it is never explored...as she was never mentioned either.
(To the people who think it would be cool for Izu to lose his power....see how AM is treated in canon...if Hori gives Izu a mansion it would be too uncharacteristic for Hori)
She did try to kill Shig...but (and my theory) since Shig can go by two names...the whole "Tomura Shigaraki dies" is pointless if he is also Tenko. But then again...Tenko and Shig...got such OP quirk and.......nothing comes from this. NOTHING.
Star is there to give a quirk to Shig....and only that.

During the Bakugou kidnap arc, the press asked legit question to the UA high, about bakugou's questionable personality and such and how does Aizawa respond?
Dadzawa came to his defense saying he works way harder than anyone else to be a hero.
Hearing this, my skeleton just left my body
He doesn't address any of bakugou's violent and rude behaviour, he has turned a blind eye towards the bullying and all he can ever come up with his our hot, cool, low-key kakashi wannabe dadzawa saying bakugou is the most hard working UA student
I wonder where deku fits into all this bs of a narrative

Characters with wasted potential: jirou kyokua
Thanks to @doodlegirl1998 for giving me some inspiration for Jirou's character and honestly Iam so sorry for taking such a long time to actually post about jirou.
My direction for this jirou rewrite is one where she doesn't become a hero as in the actual job but invents heroism in the music and media industry.
There isn't much to jirou in canon so I can't really critique anything.
Her design. I love her character design I guess the only thing I wanna add is that I want to see her sometimes just wear skirts or trousers when it comes to her school uniform
Jirous backstory. She is someone who has always had an interest in music and made it her escape during middle school because she would find the chaotic environment of school overbearing. Some people would try and isolate her because a rumor or a situation started where people became weary of her and her quirk thinking that she listens to peoples conversations and talks bad about them. However, she still had 2 friends that she could always rely on and she still talks to them in highschool
Jirou's friends at UA . For jirou UA is a fresh start for her she wants to be a hero and also make friends. She ends up befriending momo, tokoyami and becomes a minor friend with Izuku then the rest of class 1A. Since her and denki were paired up in the beginning he became the first person she talked to and by the time of the usj arc they became friends her friendship with denki was something that happend unexpectedly to her at least. Tokoyami and her bond over their taste in music and the fact that they just enjoy some peace and quite which is why she may be found hanging about in an art classroom with tokoyami and some quiet 1 A members at lunch. When it came to momo, jirou worked up the courage to ask momo to become her friend because she found momo cool and wanted to hang out with her. Momo accepted her request and they hit it of from there. For Izuku: one time jirou noticed that Izuku was feeling more nervous than usual (she could hear his heartbeat) and started a conversation to reassure him this then ended up getting them into a conversation where they both started talking about heroes and after izuku found out that jirou's favourite hero was present mic he ended up getting both him and her present mic signature. They aren't really close but they hang out every little while and help eachother out.
Jirou's UA arc. Through her time in UA she is making friends and trying to be a normal teenage girl but the villain attacks have started to make her and her parents both anxious and scared. At the usj everyone is feeling the impact of the usj and jirou is glad that everyone is well. Usj incident makes it so that her and her classmates coincidentally become closer and her parents+ middle school friends become a bit worried for her. This worry starts to decrease slowly as the year passes on and is immediately brought back stronger after the training camp arc. Jirou and her parents have a conversation suggesting that jirou shouldn't come back to the school and jirou feels inclined to agree but doesn't. She convinces her parents to stay and she does. However, she doesn't abandon the idea of leaving UA and ever since entering the dorms she feels like there's something of, instead of her worries being eased she is more panicked and it's affecting her negatively both mentally, physically and in her studies. This continues until after the school festival performance where she learns that gentle was going to attack the school. After her performance she also feels like music may be an actual career path she can take. All of these factors weight on her and she talks to present mic (who is her mentor) about it. He encourages and comforts her telling her whatever decision she chooses he will help her.
Jirou withdraws from the hero course. On a random weekend, jirou finds herself going home and she sees a thief who stole a woman's purse. She chases after the thief and gets the purse back for her. The woman is thankful and before parting ways reveals that she actually works for a news agency. It seems like her and jirou are heading towards the same area so they end up talking and jirou brings her passion for music, how she is conflicted about staying in UA or leaving, how she wants to help people and how she finally views her voice as something powerful that can help people. The lady offers jirou a role as her apprentice, telling jirou that if she chooses to leave UA that she can have a job with the journalist. Jirou accepts it and talks to her parents about it. Her parents seem to also agree with her and jirou makes the decision to leave. She wonders if she is being selfish leaving and how her classmates would think. She is dreading having to tell everyone but she does and as expected her classmates are upset that she is leaving but understand. Momo, tokoyami, denki and izuku are all supportive of her and ask her about what she plans to do, if she will visit them back and all that. Tenya reassures her that if she wishes to come back that there is always a place for her in 1A. Before jirou leaves the class decide to throw a leaving party and celebrate jirou's new start.
Present mic is her mentor and she interns with him
At the job/ apprentice. She starts to see the way of the media industry and how heroes fit into this elaborate scheme. One of her middle school friends does a UA business course and they choose to work closely both nitpicking the media industry. Jirou starts to see all the injustice and wants to give a voice to all these stories and issues that the news tires to cover or deems as unimportant. She talks to denki and momo about this. They suggest that she creates a website where she shares these stories in the form of videos or articles. Izuku and her business course friend suggest that she should make music about this. Izuku talks about her in the school festival and how her performance can influence people, how she can use her voice for the greater good to help people. She starts this website and labels herself earjack she talks about all sorts of things that she views as important and even opens up/critiques things that she finds wrong. The website starts to gain attraction and present mic finds it. He ends up promoting the website and even offers jirou an interview in one of his radio shows where they end up talking about things.
I would have jirou learn other things as well as promote her website. I personally think that due to her new found free time jirou would start learning things like first aid and trying to better her quirk.
During the war arc. I would have jirou put the skills she earned put to work. She ends up helping people as a first aider and working with the woman she met as news reporters raising awareness as to what happening in Japan.
Overall, I hope I done this justice I wanted at least one character to leave UA and I think that jirou is a great character for that. I wanted jirou's character arc to be about her gaining confidence and actually standing up for others and herself. Jirou is someone who is very closed off but also close with her friends she seems to be someone who is hard to approach but has a big heart and big passions. She doesn't think that heroics is for her especially after seeing the cruel reality of it so she starts to explore her opportunities within the media/ music industry and tackles the injustice she sees. She ends up making herself known well within the heroics and media industries earning the title of the earjack hero journalist

Hey there doodlegirl1998
Can I ask you what you think Nezu and the other UA teachers were planning to do with Aoyama when it was revealed he was a traitor?
It looked like something serious if he was telling the others to go.
Tumblr media
Hi @kite2013 👋
Hmmm.
That is an interesting question, perhaps some private questioning at best? At worst, Nedzu is trying to get them questioned then out of UA without interference.
Under Hori, I don't think anything shady was intended by this (although I wouldn't put it past solely Nedzu - he's in front of all the other heroes including AM and he'd be foolish to do anything underhand in front of them.)
Therefore, I see this moment as likely Nedzu's misguided attempt to save Class 1A's feelings rather than anything more sinister.
Although, from another angle I can see why Nedzu would want Aoyama and family out of UA (consequences on Aoyama and family be damned.) This would be to ensure no further information gets to AFO, in that scenario Class 1A's insistence to be involved would have foiled his plan to underhandly remove the Aoyama's from UA.

How Horikoshi Fails To Portray The Underdog Narrative
(All of this is just my opinion, don't take it at face value as I'm obviously not a writer)
I read an interesting article today, and it made me think of our green haired boi and some of the problems that's been noticed in his characterization:
Izuku is supposed to be the classic underdog that we see rise above all odds and become the number one hero, and I'm not saying that the road there is supposed to be perfect and conflict free. I don't want Izuku to be a Gary Stu that gets a good life handed to him on a silver platter (there's already one in the story).
The problem actually comes from two places; the first one being that Horikoshi has gone on record admitting to liking other characters (the abformentioned Gary Stu) more than Izuku, his MAIN CHARACTER. The second one, I believe comes from a beautiful ask that @theloganator101 submitted to @doodlegirl1998 that said something along the lines of: "I have never seen an author portray their main character as such a loser as Izuku is portrayed in the narrative."
There's a difference between giving your character natural conflict to overcome (i.e. an ACTUAL underdog narrative) and making him a flatout buttmonkey and slapping the 'underdog' label on it. Other animes have done a much better job at this; such as Naruto gradually winning over Konoha with his perseverance and Luffy going from someone on a little row boat to captain of one of the most notorious pirate crews in the world.
The article says that there's seven steps to making an underdog narrative, and I will say that Horikoshi did do a good job at step one: make a character the audience will root for. Izuku is incredibly kind and selfless and also happened to be born Quirkless. He faced relentless bullying for +10 years due to this and wants to become a hero so no one else will suffer like he did growing up.
Step two: portraying the disempowerment, is where things fall apart.
I actually don't mind that Izuku was given One For All by All Might, but I do mind how his past Quirklessness is never properly addressed after this. We don't see him wondering if his new friends would actually be his friends if he were still Quirkless. We don't see him aknowledging that despite receiving a Quirk, the bullying he's gone through hasn't stopped. We don't even see him wondering if he still would have been bullied had he always had a Quirk. We don't see his low self-esteem and imposter syndrome properly addressed. We don't see him noticing that even the teachers at UA are letting him be bullied despite having a Quirk now.
This also leads into the opposite problem: we see TOO MUCH disempowerment.
Izuku is struggling to properly use One For All, as it maims him every time he tries to use it. Instead of receiving any proper help for him, he gets criticized for hurting himself, is singled out and has expulsion hanging over his head on the first day of school, and even has the threat of being barred from medical treatment unless he learns how to master One For All without hurting himself. Not once do ANY of these people try giving him any advice or comfort (the only one who does is criticized in narrative for this), but it takes him being on a week long internship to finally learn how to do it.
Does he get any form of acknowledgment for this by those who criticized him and supposedly have his best interests at heart? No. Do they continue to criticize him ever time he slips up? Yes.
The third step: showing the underlying strength of the character, is another one that Horikoshi does a good job at. It's a joke that Izuku's determination should be a Quirk in and itself, and he repeatedly goes the extra mile to make sure that those around him are safe. He tries saving Bakugou from the Sludge Villain. He saves Kota's life from Muscular, helps Ida and Todoroki protect Native from Stain, and makes sure that Eri has a memorable and fun experience at the School Festival.
However, this leads into the problem with how step two is portrayed: this effort is seldom ever praised and only criticized. The Pro-Heroes berate him for trying to save Bakugou (despite them sitting back and doing nothing). He gets in trouble with Hosu's police, despite the fact that Native and Ida would have died had he and Todoroki not intervened. He's threatened with explusion and called a problem child for going to save Bakugou despite the fact that a) the mission was a success and they didn't engage in combat, and b) the mission wasn't even Izuku's idea to begin with. He gets in trouble for fighting Gentle Criminal and La Brava, and his classmates criticize him for "causing trouble" when he abruptly runs off to get candy apple ingredients for Eri (the fourth light novel). No one ever properly sits him down and tells him "you don't have to go the extra mile at your expense. Your kindness is enough." In fact, the only character who praises him for this level of kindness is criticized in and out of universe for it. Any time this red-flag is brought up in universe, it's either ignored, played for laughs, or the blame is unfairly shoved onto someone (usually, the one person in Izuku's corner).
There really is no step four: design a series of challenges and try/fail cycles, because even when Izuku has a 'win', he still gets some sort of set back in order to keep him "humble". There's those I mentioned above, but there's also his Provisional Hero License exam. He passes, but gets suspended from school the VERY SAME DAY because of his fight with Bakugou.
I guess step five: the turning point, would be Izuku learning Full Cowling and Shoot Style, and it does lead him to pass his Provisional License Exam (as well as his attitude). Mastering Black Whip would also be another one.
Step six is the worst one of the bunch in my opinion: show the darkest moment. Izuku leaving UA to protect his classmates and loved ones from All For One and Shigaraki had the potential to be an amazing arc... but it all falls incredibly flat. It tries and fails to properly address Izuku's deteriorating mental and physical state as these Pro-Heroes let him try and draw out All For One and Shigaraki, only to go all Surprised Pikachu Face when he starts pushing himself too hard (All Might at least tried keeping him regularly fed and tried intervening when Izuku struck out away from them).
Class 1A vs Izuku is where this darkest moment makes no sense for me.
Izuku tells them that All For One and Shigaraki are targeting him due to his Quirk. He doesn't want to leave, but he has to for their own protection. All For One now has Ragdoll's Quirk, meaning that he has eyes on Izuku 24/7 now. What's their solution to this? Sending some other teacher or Pro-Hero to try and talk him down? Send his closest friends to try and convince him to come back?
Nope, the entire class rallies behind his bully and literally beats him into submission. They sit by as his bully accuses him of arrogantly trying to be an 'All Might wannabe' (that same bully also tries shoving the blame for Izuku's self sacrificing tendancies onto ALL MIGHT), try guilting him into coming back, and don't once take his point of view into consideration (Ida does have a nice moment with him). On top of all of this, Izuku is later proven RIGHT that they can't keep up with him in this fight. Bakugou's dead, Uraraka is seriously wounded, Tokoyami is seriously wounded, and Jirou has one of her ears cut off. Then everything is solved by an incredibly manipulative "apology" from his bully and a bath! For that matter, the "apology" doesn't even stick!
There's also many minor incidents as well that I couldn't really fit anywhere else: his Quirk Analysis notebooks and mumbling are seen as "creepy" in universe (Endeavor's the only one who takes it seriously), not having any sort of talent or other hobbies outside of being an All Might fanboy.
The story isn't finished, so step seven has yet to be seen, but TL;DR is that Izuku is way more of a punching bag than an underdog, and many of his fans are fed up. Izuku deserves so much more than what he's been given.

I literally can’t understand the logic of this recent chapters and I actually just want to get to All Might throwing down AFO. And this is someone that loves Ochako as a character.
Ochako being jealous of Toga’s ability to openly express her feelings? What’s there to be jealous about? For one thing, Toga’s “ability” isn’t healthy and usually winds up with people dying. Also, I know Uraraka has a hard time expressing her feelings about Midoriya. But she’s talking as if she had no option of being able to quietly express her feelings and confide to someone about it. Like Asui doesn’t exist. Or Ashido. Or the rest of the 1-A girls. OR HER PARENTS. Sane people that she can talk about her feelings with. And not just love, but any feelings in general. Why does she need to be envious of a psychopath? It just makes “they are fools for each other” narrative seem even MORE forced.
And honestly, this fight has reminiscents of Midoriya vs Bakugou 2. Toga screams, makes baseless accusations about Uraraka, and trauma dumps on her. All the while also making her a punching bag and apparently a grope toy.
And while she does claim about forgiving Toga of all her crimes, she also goes on about Toga’s “amazing smile”. All the while all the scenes that we see of Toga is her constantly have a creepy ass smile. It makes Uraraka either delusional or a liar.
And of course the shippers are practically drooling at the mouth with lines like, “I’ll give you a lifetime’s worth of my blood” or Uraraka calling Toga “the cutest”. Cringy Twilight lines like that.
I just want this to end so I can see Uraraka back with Midoriya and the rest of her classmates. I’m so done with this shit.
Wow, you just brought up something in the "romantic" subplot that literally makes it fall apart.
And that is why couldn't Ochako confide in someone about her feelings for Izuku?
There were literally MULTIPLE choices! Her parents, the other 1-A girls, Midnight when she was alive, FUCKING RECOVERY GIRL!! Yet she chooses a psychopathic blood thirsty bitch who bitches and moan about the possibility of *gasp* facing the consequences of her actions!
And another thing that ties in with Izuku being given nothing but shit throughout the story! Why is it only HIS love interest that has to push aside her feelings and not mention them? It's not like any other hero or someone in their class that does this, why just Ochako?
I've seen @doodlegirl1998 mention a few times that this could've been used effectively if Ochako hiding her feelings away was the result of Aizawa's bad teaching where nothing but heroics matter and that anything else outside of that is illogical and unnecessary... but we don't get that because Aizawa has as much as plot armor as Bakugou when it comes to others not calling him out or his actions being seen in a negative light.
I'm just about over this as much as you khonaker, I'm over and upset that Ochako's plot has basically twisted to be this stupid love triangle plot and chooses to pander to this twisted brat instead of getting it through her that even though her life sucked, it's not an excuse to be a horrible person that murders people.
Also small note before I end this post! The image of Toga asking Ochako if she's cute with her smile... that could've used a redraw instead of using that creepy smile, like that's not charming or cute... that just looks like a sleep paralysis demon I'm gonna see someday.

Have you noticed about MHA that the characters Hori wants us to feel sorry for are written as terrible people with pretty weak reasons to feel sorry for them?
I.e Bakugou - fell into a river at 4/5 was helped out of it by Izu and somehow that inspired years of bullying and torment adding to the fact that Izu was born quirkless. There's no "abusive parents" in canon (although Mitsuki's behaviour is questionable from what we see) it's just Bakugou being an ass because he wants to be.
Shinsou - in canon there's no confirmed abusive parents, there's no bullying either he's unironically quirkist to others (his fans are quick to forget he called Ojiro a monkey.) And to add to this he's now shown no qualms about puppeteering friends against each other (Machia against AFO) which is normally a villain move in stories.
Toga - no confirmed abusive parents (they could have just taken bad advice from a quirk doctor), did she have friends prior to her snapping? Whatever, she's forgot about / doesn't care for them now. Sure, she has her madness from her quirk as a explanation but she's shown to be able to hold back if she wants to - so how mad really is she? Or does she just enjoy killing?
@doodlegirl1998 Hi
I like to begin this by saying...Fans complaining Kishimoto is sexist, homophobic, or whatever aren´t the same as people rightfully complaining about some of Hori´s choices in MHA.
"Sakura could have been great" What the fuck this even means? Nothing hinders Sakura except Sakura. She is what you get. The fandom loves to cry about how she was done dirty...when in reality she got all she wanted.
Now Hori? He is a writer who steps up an amazing concept to...glorify abusers and useless characters.
Bakugou- HAD A HAPPY CHILDHOOD, IS RICH AND HAD A QUIRK. THIS ASSHOLE IS ENTITLED AND UNGRATEFUL. The people who say "Mitsuki abused him" are solely mistaken or never saw the show but read a fic. He abused Izu for no reason...and when Hori tried to explain...it makes worse. And I´ll say HERE: GUYS PLEASE STOP WITH THIS "QUIRKLESS ARE SUBHUMANS" BC IT OFFERS AN EXPLANATION FOR BK´S ABUSE ON IZU.
Shinsou- I think the bullying scene comes from a person asking or commenting "wow, please don't brainwash us" She could be joking here. But SHinso and the fandom took literally, and you see so many fics where he is abused beyond human abilities...and for what? Actually, if he was abused as the fics said...why he would want to be a hero? Yeah, this is smth the fics never answer (mind you, Hitoshi has a power and color similar to a Marvel villain Killgrave aka the purple man) like if people toss trash at him and shit like that...why he would want to protect them?
Toga- GOD, I HATE THIS "HER QUIRK BRAINWASH HER" NO, it would only take her agency. She can control herself just fine. She is just completely delulu. Actually, Toga is totally delulu. And the whole thing "her parents abused her" is not true and is also lazy. YEAH, ANOTHER PARENT WHO ABUSED THE CHILD IN THIS STORY WOW HOW ORIGINAL.
To sum up, Hori can´t write those characters at all and is always using lame excuses to "forgive" their horrible actions.

If you ask me, they had the best potential to be each others rivals in terms of combat. Toga uses knives in combat and Uraraka was given a training on how to disarm a knife wielding opponent. We have two female brawlers in the show, perfect opportunity for them to throw hands at each other like savages from the cave people era. But the potential, like everything else in MHA, got squandered. unlike our Shiggy boi and Izu boi, these two women have NOTHING in common, in terms of their backstory and their upbringing.
I love me some barbaric female characters and they these two girls had the perfect opportunity to be blood lusted against each other when their paths crossed for the first time in the Bakugou capture arc. Heck, I'd even give Toga a petty ass reason for her to be so obsessed with Uraraka. I'd make these girls fight against each other, have Uraraka make use of her combat training against their fight, Toga's petty ego allows her to get the better of her because she gets dismantled by Uraraka with ease and thus, the beginning of their rivalry. Simply because Uraraka outsmarted her in her own game. This will forever haunt Toga and the bruise that her gets will only deepen further. This is a better build up for their future fights. All because someone decided to become petty in this fight instead of fighting back.
And no, I will not go into these two girls having a common love interest because that is absolutely insulting, demeaning and just hammering home the fact that girls are only meant to fall in love and became a satellite character to a main male lead character and constantly live in his shadows for the rest of her life. That whole love triangle is very forced, out of nowhere and adds nothing to the character growth for our girls, Toga and Uraraka. It's just pure misogyny running rampant!
To answer your question, it was a good pairing but with horrible reasons, piss poor writing, waste of character growth for both these two girls and bland misogyny pulling the strings from the shadows.
I hope this helps, Cheers!

OK. so since i love to hate the MHA verse, lets talk about one thing that most people haven't talked about as much as it should, as much as it deserves attention.
Lets talk about Takoyami (I hope i got the name and spelling correct). He has the head of a bird so I was stupid enough to assume that his quirk falls under the mutant category. But nope, turns out he is an emitter type since he emits Dark Shadow from his body. What is the logic behind this? And also, since he has a beak (as a bird should) how is he able to perfectly speak with more than a 100% accurate pronunciation?
Coming to how quirks are so well written and explained by Hori, only Bk's quirk is given a proper explanation (ofc it would since its BK). So what makes Uraraka's quirk the way it is? Dumb question, duh! It's due to her quirk called float (I assume its called that). But that's not what I'm asking. What part of her DNA altered and gave her the ability to make things float with just a single touch? Whats the science/logic behind her body being able to do that?
How do quirks even work in the MHA verse? Who knows, Hori sure as heck doesnt!
#Hori is a trash writer #Anti Bakugou #Anti MHA #Anti BkDk #Anti Izu x Uraraka

I did not expect this series to go this bad😬😬😬 and I didn't want to watch the full episodes of the series since the debut of some of the characters like Bakugou and Endeavour, as I'm not a fan of them since their character traits really grinds my gears a lot (Bullying and the 'S' Baiting for Bakugo and Familial Abuse from Endeavour) and I only convinced my self that I'll watch it if they have some sort of consequences... But the series seems to their treat is as a joke or praised them for doing the bare minimum. And I Hate It😬😒😭😫
And because of this, I kinda wanted to write my own fanfiction about this series - as it was inspired by some of the authors I've read and seen on other social media platforms like Instagram for even design their OC's and how they would fit into the canon universe - to somehow address some of the issues here and there, while also giving Izuku the love, care, and support he deserves.
So yeah, enough of the rambling. I just wanted to ask you if it's alright for me to use the canon universe with its flaws to be pointed out by some of the characters - they are mostly OC's and one of them is my fanfic protagonist or something else, (I want to write Bakugou being the bully he is or endeavour rotting in jail for life😈😈😈)
And I don't where to start, to make this ask short (it's so long now, wow sorry about that) I want you to list what you think are the most glaring issues of the series in a summary form or anything that makes you comfortable and what sort of things and factors I need to consider. It's mostly just for reference for my fanfictions and I would give you full credit for all of this. It is also my very first writing project and I want it to be perfect when I'll officially publish it online.
So yeah, that's all. Thanks so much for reading this long-ass ask and I wish you the very best. Thank you again🥰🥰🥰
No problem I don't mind long asks but it just takes me longer to answer them sometimes!
Fanfiction and the realm of fics tends to be a very legal grey space and it's partially the reason why making fanfics into books can sometimes be very controversial. In my opinion there's no problem in using the MHA world to inspire your own story and even take elements of it however, I am not the creator of MHA so I can't give a definitive answer but I can say that when you decide to post your story do credit the author of mha!
Now onto the list!
Give victim characters agency and autonomy through the story
Give proper concequences to the oc's you create that maybe similar to enji and bakugo
Address societal issues of your stories using various elements
Make sure to use show and tell
Focus on the pacing of the story
If you're planning on redeeming certain characters please humanise them
Add to the worldbuiling. If your story is going to have superpowers and such please add to the law side of the universe
I think these are probably my most glaring issues but the one that makes me bothered the most is characters not getting proper concequences and the lack of properly addressing societal issues that MHA has.
Now I think it's better for you to hear others opinions as well since my list is far from perfect. So if @mikeellee @doodlegirl1998 @sapphic-agent @palesweetscherryblossom @nutzgunray-lvt @moonsb1996 @theloganator101 @tardigradetheking @amethystoceandespiser or anyone else who I haven't tagged wants to add more to the list please reblog this and add your own opinions.

My Reading List
So I’ve offered some AO3 recommendations to one person and @sassydepression messaged me asking for them so I’m going to put a few on here. I’ll add if anyone has any requests I happen to already read (I am narrowly diverse in what I read?i have a few other fandoms I follow so don’t be afraid to ask)
Read the tags the authors post. I will not be censoring or excluding based on squicks, that will be your job to filter out what you don’t want (at least AO3 has done a good job of making sure tags are at the top of the post so you know what you’re getting into before you start reading)
I’m saying this again: Read the tags and summary’s the authors put on their stories. Theirs are better than mine I’m just trying to give you an idea before you click on it.
The first request was team Iron Man post civil war (aka captain America salt). I’m gonna throw in my fave team captain America just because.
Avengers
Team Iron Man/Captain America salt
Vital for Understanding by Doodlegirl1998
my summary: post civil war- the rogue avengers are back and the team is tracking down an alien. The alien somehow zaps them into an alt dimension where they get to witness Tony’s life from childhood and see the events that have actually shaped him into the billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, superhero we know. Not particular heavy on the salt but definitely not cap or Wanda friendly. (Currently seems to be on hiatus)
Changed by Arboreal
my summary: post civil war- Tony returns from Siberia a different man. No ones seen the hero out of the suit since but he’s still carrying on his duties and rebuilding the avengers.
It’s Not Over Till It’s Over by White_Rabbits_Clock
my summary: post civil war- the avengers are pardoned almost befor ethey leave the country. They’re back at the tower but Tony’s behaving kind of odd lately. And not just in his usual caffeine powered engineering binge kind of way.
Down to the Bone by Kingdom_of_Roses
my summary: post civil war- tony is facing legal scrutiny over the Ultron fiasco...I’ll admit I gave t read this one in a while so I’m fuzzy on details but I bookmarked it and it’s got hurt Tony in the first chapter. That’s usually a pretty good indicator of a team cap salt fic
Team Captain America
The Darcyland Chronicles by Starrynyte
my summary: post civil war- who is Darcy and how is she connected to all the avengers. And what are they going to do when she’s been kidnapped? Sit and watch cuz she’s a badass that’s what.

@doodlegirl1998 let me ask one simple thing: what we know about AM's quirkless?
How we know this tecnology is affordable? (In the sense, was this made in Japan, there nothing saying it could be made months ago in Switzerland or smth and handed to him bc he is the #1)
Am I the only one who feels like All Might going to fight AFO quirkless and with a mecha suit is a bit of a slap in the face to how quirkless people can't be heroes?
Because yeah, I'm not expecting a quirkless hero to go up against nation level threats and take on God himself, but a quirkless hero shouldn't be out of the question because of that fact.
Izuku had the potential to become the first quirkless hero and prove everyone who called weak or worthless wrong, but apparently not!
God it's painful to see how this manga went downhill...
Hi @theloganator101👋,
You are not the only one, I agree with you. This development to give us another AM vs AFO moment really wasn't necessary to the plot and feels like a massive slap in the face to the Quirkless in the story.
Both Izuku and Aoyama were born without quirks and believed they (and their parents believed) that they couldn't be a hero without one. Yet All Might stepping out in an Iron Man-esque suit proves, without a doubt, that they can.
Hell its worse here, when Quirkless Izuku came to All Might and asked him "Can a Quirkless person be a hero?" All Might, knowing of this technology, should have said, "Yes, and I'll sponsor you. Give you my contacts and help you achieve that dream." Or, better, have AM have a change of heart and offer this to Izuku right after seeing Izuku save Bakugou from the sludge villain.
Imagine how much more powerful it would be to have All Might say something like, "Seeing you try to save that young boy, with just your wit, while the other heroes and I stood by reminded me that being a hero isn't about the strength of ones quirk. You inspired me to act, Midoriya. So I'd like to help you achieve your dream of being the first Quirkless hero."
No way should All Might have said "No but let me give you OFA to make you a hero" given the canonisation of this level of technology (that Hori pulled out his ass) and All Might's past quirklessness!
The writing of MHA has gone completely downhill, I only wish to see how the stories of characters that I have grown attached to end up at this point.

A late Christmas present for @doodlegirl1998
Tony had figured the moment the boys met they would be instant friends. He was calculating his chances on their same age and their love for science. But the moment Peter Parker met Harley Keener sparks had flared and even Dummy could sense the tension between them.
Tony didn’t know how it happened but soon the boys were in an epic battle, trying to create new ideas that could impress him. Their little contest has gone so far that the whole Avengers Compound would come to the labs to see them debating scientific theories and creating inventions faster than Thor could eat a box of pop tarts.
So the scene before Tony came as no surprise to him.
“I’m his favourite! He lets me fix his bots and machines all the time.”
“Well he build me a suit! Clearly I’m his favourite.”
“He only did that to kick Captain America’s butt!”
“He asked me for help, didn’t he!”
“Captain America could have kicked your ass if he wanted to. And I helped him fight the Mandarin. Did you do that?”
“What’s going on?” Tony asked Rhodney who was doubling over in laughter. Besides him Pepper was trying (unsuccessfully) to stop her silent laughter. Even Happy and Vision seen amused.
As if summoned by his voice both boys came towards him and asked in a synced voice.
“Tony! Who’s your no 1!”
“What?” Was Tony’s intelligent response.
“No 1! Who do you like better? Me or Harley?”
“Of course he likes me better. He made me a potato gun!”
Tony looked back to the gang to see if they were serious. Rhodney couldn’t stop laughing and he was almost gasping for breath. The other three weren’t faring that well either.
He turned back to see the boys have almost went from a verbal to a physical fight.
“Both of you are not my favourite!” Tony shouted as he tried to end their fight.
The boys turned towards him with identical looks of bafflement that even Tony felt the need to laugh his head off.
“What?!” “Who is it?”
Just then a little girl almost identical to Harley came running into the room straight towards Tony. He picked her up as if it was the most natural thing for him.
The boys blinked before falling into the couch with dejection.
“Of course.” “Should have know”
There was a moment of blessed silence and then–
“So if she’s his favourite then doesn’t that make me the honorary no 1?”
“Hey that’s cheating!”
Tony shaked his head before turning towards the girl in his arms.
“Wanna paint War Machine pink?”
Tony smirked
“That’s why you’re my favourite”
