Someone smarter than me needs to do an in-depth analysis on how swift weaponizes sex. So many of her lyrics involve cheating as revenge and picking fights with her partners about other girls. She makes it sound like some godly privilege to be with her and if she masterminded her way into your life you're just soooo lucky. Even "touch me while your bros play GTA" plays into that. Like "why would you want to have fun and game with your friends when ill let you finger me". (Sidenote a bunch of her lyrics and all of Me! sounds like an abusive partner daring you to leave and dare to find someone better) It's creepy how she's so juvenile and egotistical at the same time. She's mastered the "any mention of my bfs, even the underage ones, is slutshaming" move and uses it to get out of any criticism. Like, have all the sex you want be safe whatever but don't act like some sad little girl who got taken advantage of when the game you started goes poorly.
Ask, and ye shall receive. Because this a very insightful observation! Thanks!
It is true that Swift clearly uses sex and sexuality like a "gotcha" moment. I was always quite perturbed by her songs that glorify cheating. It's just so strange, but I think it ties into her enjoyment of revenge fantasies. Anyway, I was planning to write about how Swift's music often engages with and reinforces heteropatriarchal social standards. I think your idea adds an interesting new layer to the ways in which she manipulates through sex- both in the performance of passivity to masculine authority, as the patriarchy, and the ways in which she commodifies female sexuality by weaponizing it.
You're right it's incredibly egotistical and juvenile.
Also, I have a major bone to pick with the way Taylor Swift uses feminism to shut down criticism- like OMG do I have a problem with her there. She's only ever spent her career crying about how "women who talk bad about me are bad women" yet, she never really does or says anything actually feminist. In fact, most of her music, like I said above, reinforces the patriarchy. She herself is guilty of so much slut-shaming, too. I will go into detail, with a real argument, in a separate post soon. And I thank you for pointing out the weaponized sexuality aspect of her, often, overtly patriarchal tone.
BTW- "ME!" is Such a weird song -> "I know that I went psycho on the phone" uhh... excuse me?

I shouldn’t complain because the only reason I’m pretentious about this is because I’ve spent pretty much my entire life from the age of 12 in liberal (as a youngin) or leftist lgbt feminist spaces online so I’m already over most ideas. but it DOES disappoint me a little that my pansexual hetero-married sex and gender professor is still in the “gotcha” phase of liberalism. Which I guess is really the only phase of liberalism, but you know what I mean. You know when you’re 13 and you are obsessed with shock factor gay rights or whatever. I had an excuse because I was 13, you know the stuff. Like guys….god..is a woman…TEE HEE! 🤭 actually, well, did you know that..some cowboys…WERE GAY!!!!!!!!! 🤭 well actually, did you know, that your favorite music artist is actually GAYYYYYY!!!!!! LOL!! YOU ACTUALLY LIKE GAY PEOPLE!! YOU CANT BE HOMOPHOBIC!!!!Did you know!??Gotcha!!!! 🤭 it is tiring can we have an actual intelligent conversation without the well known stupid asf things like dis. I don’t care. HELP!

“If you hate every woman that doesn’t agree with you 100% that’s not radical feminism it’s radical narcissism”
Thoughts on cis women who support trans people?
The same thing I think of trad women.
Under patriarchy women see how badly feminists are treated and that the best way to survive is to align themselves with whatever flavor of male is most palatable to them. They will then defend their choice and their males at their own expense.
I don’t hate them. It’s self destructive, it’s foolish, it’s frustrating to see. But I don’t hate them for trying to survive. I don’t know that I hate men either. I hate Men as a social class. But if you imagine me seething when I see a man minding his own business at the grocery store, I don’t. That’s no way to live.
I don’t hate trans people either. I hate the current political orthodoxy surrounding them. It’s why it amuses me when I get asks like this. You hate me so you assume it’s mutual. You sent this as a gotcha shortly after calling me a rapist. You hoped I’d sputter and scramble to justify why me hating these women is different.
But I don’t hate them. I save hatred for rapists and pedos and billionaires.

so funny when gotcha retards bring up "the militant feminists in latam" excuse to explain why american/evro women shouldnt care about bathroom discourse or whatever. brother the reason why the militant feminists in latam are focused elsewhere is bc the bathroom issue has gotten very lttle attention here from the average, regular woman. seeing as to how the average latin american woman bristles when so much as a short haired woman (me) walks in to piss, theyre not about to let random males in there just for fun and so the "discussion" is really a basic "no". the average feminist here is focused on two things: femicide and/or abortion. since a good chunk of the first world has somewhat "dealt" w those (tho american women do seem to be in denial abt their failure to protect their right to abortion uhh pleaseee fix that?) and is largely much less socially/culturally conservative to the degree where theyve managed to push gender "inclusive" shit a bit too hard, theyve mostly moved on to less urgent concerns like who gets to piss where. whatever my point is the "latam feminists dont care" isnt a good gotcha its just weird backwards scapegoating. focus on your problems whch sadly do seem to include getting rid of womens bathrooms and laws which might seem kind and nice in theory but in practice seem to just let rapey men get away with a lot of insane shit under the guise of personal identity rights...a little bit too often for comfort.

Why do you post every day about hating trans people and how women belong in the kitchen. Why are you like this? Reflect inward
I feel fairly confident in saying I have never posted anything about "hating trans people" or about how "women belong in the kitchen". I have written an awful lot about the insanity of the current gender ideology, the clear and horrific damage it is doing to individuals and society, and how much I feel sorry for people who have irreversibly mutilated their bodies because of those insane and incoherent beliefs.
Similarly, I've written endlessly about how feminist ideology is hurting both men and women, and how it too is based on false claims and incorrect assumptions about reality. But I want individual women (and men) to follow whatever path will make them most happy and fulfilled in the long run: some women are clearly born to be artists and scientists and architects and sportswomen and whatever else, and if they have a clear talent for those vocations I would not want to stand in the way of their dreams in any way. I believe in equal rights and opportunities for all and that the best person for any job should get the job. Personally, I'd be perfectly happy to live as a house husband and potter around the kitchen all day while the woman I'm with goes out every morning to be a blacksmith or a welder: it would give me lots of time to work on my writing and other creative endeavours. Now that I think about it, I'd like that a lot.
So my question in response would be: why do you feel you have to so egregiously misrepresent other people's words and positions to make yourself appear as though you are in the right? Why not approach others you don't know as individuals just trying to do good in the world and find and share truth, the same as yourself? That's something for you to reflect on.
Tumblr media
I like the community, the creativity and the open-ended nature of posts: Tumblr is the best interface I've found for posting a variety of pictures, long essays, memes, one-liners, jokes, gifs and videos, and the way the responses are laid out in an easy-to-follow conversational form is superior, too. It's also largely ignored by the media, so it feels like more natural, thoughtful and authentic conversations can take place here, out of the glare of the public eye seeking to sieze-upon and blow-up every throwaway remark into a "gotcha!" news story and destroy people's lives.
Something like Facebook would be even more censorious, and the impression I get is that it collects more data and spies upon its users more than Tumblr does. Twitter, though much improved under Elon, is too much of a warzone, with people continually and hysterically attacking others, all day every day. So someone who enjoys sending anonymous hatemail to people they've never met might think about giving that one a go.

Am I wrong for feeling like its possible to recognise the double stands between male and female rappers, having utmost respect for women like MTS, but for also feeling it’s fine to think songs like WAP don’t do women any favours, find it kind of offensive and that it’s ridiculous women (especially black women) feel like they have to make that kind of music?
I just don’t think men consider songs like WAP to be a gotcha, they just see it as soft porn? Women should be able to make music about whatever they like but until we’re out of the patriarchy I just don’t think songs like WAP will be seen as just another song about sex, and won’t be appreciated for the work/time put into it by the artist as it should be.
I don't listen to many popular female rappers, then ones I do listen to are much more obscure, since yeah they usually are hypersexual in their lyrics and videos as many popular female artists are. I think female artists are allowed to be sexual in their art and music, like they're adults they can write songs about basic human things, but its a fine line between oversexualization as your entire branding of yourself that men will see at face value and never care about anything else. it makes me sick seeing how many of her male contempories obviously don't respect megan and will do anything to tear her down in their songs, for example, and its likely bc shes a black woman singing about her sexuality unashamed as the focal point of her music. I think songs like WAP and similar are always never not gonna be about sex though, theres not other ways to spin a lot of those songs lol. Like yes there was effort put into making it, but it is just another song about heterosexual sex at the end of the day. Like ofc men won't take that seriously, they take nothing of women's sexuality seriously in a state where men want and use sex to dominate women in their eyes.
ofc then the question you pose and spin from it is if its even worthwhile to have music like that from a feminist perspective, i would say no. the songs really don't help women look better in the eyes of the patriarchy, but at the same time its a libfem take of feminism in that singing unashamed of her sexuality is empowering. radfems would look at it less kindly, considering how much of her music is just her wanting to fuck men (and correct me if im wrong, im using megan as an example and don't listen to her much), and it does make me cringe once I realize just how many songs of hers are like that. similar reason for why i dislike sabrina carpenter too, i just cannot stand when a female artists entire repertoire is constantly sexual and focused on men 99.9% of the time w little introspection or a break from the sexual themes and sexual branding/marketing of themselves.
theres more i could say, but idk i feel im not expressing myself with this topic how i want to, but to round it out i agree theres obviously gonna be a double standard within rap between men and women when women are forced to present as sexual as possible to sell their art and i hate the libfem branding of over-hyper/sexualization as a form of empowerment for women, especially as a means to fame that no man will or ever have to deal with and be told to do to sell their music and art.

I sometimes read analysis and comments on Barbie that make me think exactly what were people expecting. It is the kind of movie that, from the beginning, you know you are going to have to accept some things at face value and go "yeah, gotcha, it works like that".
If you found it boring or not interesting, fine (couldn't be me), but when the comments are like "it wasn't very feminist" or "it's not very coherent". What were you expecting, really? Why were your hopes so high in a commercial mainstream movie? I don't watch Hollywood movies, of any kind, expecting them to be life changing. They may end up being life changing, but rarely so. I just ask from them to be entertaining, and from a movie like Barbie, I expected it to be playful and not serious, which it was.
Also, maybe you should focus on Ryan Gosling playing Ken if you get bored because he was *invested*. Forget about the message, the story and all that and look at him doing whatever it is he is doing. How can you be bored?

Hate when western liberals use their incel political gotchas or whatever on non western feminists like going after Malala a woman who took a bullet almost died as a young girl 4 the sake of girl's education and asking her 2 make it clear that she's pro trans and thinks that trans women (degenerate mentally ill males) r women like it's insane how u can reach this level of delusion is this the only thing that consumes ur thoughts

why do you freaks bring up abortion and rape victims as a gotcha? and you think youre the good guy? wowie
"why do you guys guys bring up the most extreme case possible for childrens medical autonomy to discussion regarding childrens medical autonomy"
Again, republicans view minors transitioning and children having abortion as result of rape on the exact boat: "since they are too innocent and theres chances for regret we should prohibit them and makes choices for them"
Is a not a gotcha to bring up rape in a narrative that is objectively used against rape victims as well, and I once again ask: if morally and legally you believe a child or minor shouldn't remove a perfectly healthy body part, how do you justify in the same weigh a child or minor removal of a perfectly healthy developing human being? And you already know whatever funny meme based snarky argument you have is already null and void in Nebraska, so it isn't that strong to begin with
And it's not very Marxist Radical Feminist to monopolize the "being a kill joy" hobby like that🤨

it's so strange to see men complain about having more responsibility in relationships and this sort of thing. so what are you suggesting? this is literally a feminist standpoint. you're literally just weak, you want to be coddled from cradle to grave it disgusts me. it's like some weird "gotcha" for women, and on one level it's true. but on the other hand like literally grow up. be a man. if I liked a woman and I had the means to provide and shit, which I don't so tradwives don't waste your time, also im ugly as hell, I'd never complain I'd be happy to die first and come home tired or whatever. as if "women's work" is just hanging out. it's not even a support role like this is your life like she is literally giving you so much and you're like "b-but my girlfriend didn't ask how my day was wahhhhh wahhhhhhhh"

It's how someone saying "we should prioritize facts over feelings" gets you labeled "far right". It's how someone who beleives in equality but doesnt consider themselves a feminist is considered a misogynist. It's why, despite all of the bad they did, not supporting BLM (the movement/"charity") apparently makes you "anti-black".
OK, this pretty much sums up my knee-jerk reaction to just cringe or roll my eyes at stuff like "far right/alt-right extremist," "misogynist," "racist," or whatever buzzwords they're using now. 9 times out of 10, those labels are just used to mean "Anyone who even just slightly disagrees with me on a political issue." They're literally just used as a "gotcha" to make it harder for the other party to explain themselves without seeming like a Bad Person™.
And in the event that an actual misogynist/racist/whatever actually shows up, no one will take it seriously because the people who constantly misuse those labels just couldn't stop crying wolf.
when people are like “oh so you’re just gonna judge someone for their political beliefs?” yes actually. I think someone’s values and opinions is a pretty reasonable thing to judge them for.

Ok no let’s just talk for a minute. Someone says The Beatles are better than Taylor, you say you hate The Beatles. Someone who doesn’t like Taylor likes Harry Styles, you say you hate Harry Styles. Someone says Chappell’s better than Taylor, you say you hate Chappell and her fans. I’m starting to notice a pattern. If I say Beyoncé is better than Taylor, what’s next?
Like, I’m not even arguing about Taylor, because I do like her, even though I’m critical about some things, I’m just baffled that your first instinct seems to be hating whatever and whoever it is that challenges Taylor (or your worldview).
You complain about misogyny, but your misogyny is showing. And before you complain, I’m a genderqueer poc who studies feminist theory, I’m not emo or goth, so you can’t gotcha me with your usual talk
How am I misogynist for not liking the Beatles and Harry styles when there literally men

I suspect that people place so much focus on males getting beaten/mistreated by other men because they like femininity but don't have the same energy towards females who deal with both female's contempt for gnc women and men's physical/sexual threats that affects girls and women who reject femininity because they LOVE to use it as a “gotcha” to dismiss feminist analysis of male privilege and male supremacy overall. With the regression brought by TRAs, this situation also became a tool for their emotional manipulation over women with the classic “Why would someone give up on male privilege to become a woman? It's enough proof they aren't men” and also their dependence on femininity. Because their whole notion of womanhood are sexist stereotypes and if women reject femininity, how could they(Tims) reclaim their “right” in be a woman?
☝🏽👏🏽 As someone who once religiously performed femininity in my preteens and teens because eventually my family found it embarrassing and annoying that a “pretty girl” still wanted to be a tomboy, and as someone who eventually gave up the act and has attempted gender neutrality and keeps getting hints if not straight up told I’m “letting myself go” lol, I can personally say that doing either/or gets you basically the same misogyny at the end of the day. Femininity don’t real and is a trap.
As a “pretty woman” heterosexual men are furious with you if you walk around like that but don’t want them coming up to you publicly judging your appearance like you’re in a dog show not just trying to get somewhere, as an “ugly woman” heterosexual men are furious that you walk around like that without attempting to look hot for them, either/or heterosexual women will encourage you to compete against them for male attention you don’t even want lol, it’s hard to win.
TIMs and the begendered overall don’t realize the built in futility of the actual female experience in a begendered world because their world view is simple and lazy and they sugar coat everything. “Men are paying women millions to pose naked and be purchased for sex and money = good = power = domination so women must be winning now! #feminism!” Lol what males think women winning looks like should be taken with a grain of salt given how they’ve measured “success” over the years, all this fucking war and poverty and rape and gender existing at all
A woman who is content in her overweight body, a woman who intentionally obscures her body, a woman who “looks male” and doesn’t give a fuck or identify with it, a woman who doesn’t buy that “skirt go spinny” and “I love make up” are universally recognizeable female experiences, GNC women’s relationship with/rejection of gender scares some GNC men so badly because at the end of the day for them, “gender” is really just “masculinity is the opposite of femininity."
Among liberals and the left etc GNC men get more sympathy for performing femininity and its consequences are taken more seriously because people don't take misogyny and violence against women seriously. Misogyny had to become "transmisogyny" to stop being boring or whatever

me: i would like to know what early humans ate
internet: oh like for weight loss purposes?
me: no im just curious
internet: ohhhhh! i understand! you want to know why humans are so fat
me: no i just. want to know what kinds of things they ate. like if they mixed things together to make other things like primitive stews or soups. did they know what herbs were? did they add salt to their food when they cooked or did they just eat stuff that was naturally high in salt? did they have recipes? or did they just put stuff on a fire and then eat it? when did we start getting creative with food? when did we realize that meals could be more than the sum of their parts?
internet: idk about all that but here's 5 tips for losing weight on the paleo diet

Very simply, if Rowling cared about women, any women, she wouldn't of hired two abusers. She wouldn't hire people who groom minors. She wouldn't always have men as main characters. A least one woman would have spoken in the new Fantastic Beasts trailer.
If you are any kind of feminist then you should hate her
