no bc the more i think about it the more crazy i feel. Jeremy using sex as both self-harm and an easy escape but sex with Jean could never be that. Jeremy can't just rush into it with Jean and then take off the minute it's over. With Jean it would have to be slow and careful and it would mean something. Sex with Jean would shatter Jeremy's worldview. Sex with Jean wouldn't leave Jeremy feeling empty and used and embarrassed. Jean wouldn't let it be like that, couldn't let it be like that, because his heart is too good and he cares too much and he knows exactly how it feels to be degraded, and he won't let Jeremy do it to himself anymore, not with him.

Katniss tried to take Prim hunting exactly once, and it went about as well as expected - she failed to shoot anything and burst into tears when Katniss showed her how to skin a rabbit. On the way back they found a lost colt with an ear bitten off and a nasty set of claw marks on its flank. Katniss was happy to just leave it, but Prim insisted they nurse it back to health.

Thus began the long and turbulent relationship of Katniss and Buttercup. Mortal enemies to the bitter end, they've entered an uneasy truce only through their love of Primrose; Katniss promises not to shoot the damn thing, and he in turn tries to resist trampling her. (He'll still try to throw her off now and again, of course. A horse has his pride.)

[ID: Black and white comic of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. The comic starts with the sounds "thud, thud, click". Vash, mid-action of peeling an apple, turns to the sound, noticing who it was that entered, and says, "Oh, Wolfwood, you're back." He resumes back to his apple in the next panel as he speaks, "Where'd you go? You snuck out of bed quickly this morning..." Wolfwood's hand then enters the panel, hovering over Vash's cheek and Vash looks up as Wolfwood asks, "Can I?" Vash responds, "Not going to talk about it?" while using a hand to gently hold Wolfwood's hovering hand and presses a kiss to his inner palm.

Vash then gets up fully, setting down the knife down on the table and the apple onto a plate, He leans into Wolfwood as Wolfwood explains, "Had to meet someone. Nothing interesting to talk about." Vash kisses Wolfwood's left cheek and a hand moves to cup his other cheek while muttering, "You're being vague." Wolfwood says neutrally, "If yer really that curious, keep askin'. We  can talk about that instead of doing this." Vash leans back and responds, "Let's talk after, since... You look so tired."

The panel pans to a close up of Wolfwood's downcast eyes, bags heavy underneath his eyes. He doesn't allow Vash to sit in that moment for long though, then saying, "Yer not helping, Spikey. Being all slow with it... I could fall asleep right now." He moves his hand to start unclasping Vash's coat, starting from his collar. Vash with red cheeks, responds briskly, "Oh, shut up. I'm worried about you. I can't be worried?"

The final shot shows Wolfwood's back to the viewer while Vash's softened expression can be seen as he holds gently onto the side of Wolfwood's face and a hand firm on his waist. Wolfwood responds, "I'm fine, seriously," pausing for a moment before continuing, "Is it okay to still..?" Vash responds, "Yeah, it's okay."

The next image is a shot from later that night after the previous comic. Vash and Wolfwood are now in bed, half naked. Wolfwood's buries his face into Vash's chest, his arms wrapped around him, while Vash is petting at his hair. Vash reminds him, "Hey. You said we'd talk about it." Wolfwood pauses for a moment before piping up, "In the morning? I'm sleepy." Vash says, "Okay..."

The next two pages start from the morning after. Wolfwood is already fully awake, pulling on his outer jacket as he says to Vash, whos' still bundled in his blankets, "Breakfast is on the table. Make sure to eat it. I'm going to grab some things in town and then we're leavin'. Got it?" Vash says, "Mh." Wolfwood responds, "Good. See ya in a bit." The dialogue starts to shift into Vash's inner thoughts now, as he gets up and eats toast, thinking, "Wait. Weren't we supposed to... talk about it?" The next shot then shows him fully up, meeting Wolfwood in town. He carries a half worried expression with him while Wolfwood slides on his glasses for him. A quick panel shows Wolfwood's tired expression from the night before and quickly juxtaposes with Wolfwood in front of him who's smiling gently, the shades covering his eye bags. Wolfwood asks him, "Still not awake yet?" Vash pauses, his thoughts stirring, thinking, "Oh. I guess I was getting ahead of myself... thinking you owe me that kind of honesty." He smiles at Wolfwood and responds, "I'm awake!" His thoughts continue, "Maybe one day, you'd trust me enough to share your burdens."

The final image shows Wolfwood pulling at Vash's cheek and Vash complains, "Owwwww why..." Wolfwood quickly says, "You were thinking something stupid, right? It's all over yer face." Vash mutters, "Nooo, I wasn't..." END ID]

the forensic info behind the bibas children's death was thankfully posted by someone else on the jumblr tag, because i couldn't write it down, but i want to address the intel question, aka "israel knew their fate but pretended otherwise for evil reasons!!!!!11"

in the weeks and months after 7/10, a lot of people were missing, and their exact fate - whether they perished in the massacres, or were kidnapped - was uncertain. some people were documented as they were kidnapped, but not everyone. on the scenes of murder in the kibbutzim, a lot of the houses were set on fire by the terrorists. the idea was simple - people, families, were hiding in their shelter rooms, and some (not all) have managed to block the doors and windows effectively. so the terrorists set them on fire. either the smoke and heat drives the people out - exposing them to either gunfire or kidnapping; or they stay inside and die anyway. those fires burned for a long while too. it's not like firefighters could immediately come to the scenes and put them out. so in many cases, the only things left from people were charred remains. in many cases, literal bone fragments or singular teeth. so the identification process took a long, long time. first the remains had to be found (that took a long time in cases too). then have dna extracted from them for identification. actual archaeologists and paleontologists were recruited for this mission because they had more experience dealing with such fragmentary remains than the regular medical teams.

and until those remains were accurately identified, the victims would not be officially and legally declared dead.

so for a long time, there were people whose fate was, officially, unknown. even if no footage of them from 7/10 ever emerged, even if hamas didn't declare them as hostages, even if their homes were burned to crisps, they would not be declared officially dead until they were 100% medically identified. the famous video of shani louk showed her dead body. but she was not officially declared dead until much later, when a fragment of her skull was found, and it was medically analyzed to be impossible for her to survive without that skull piece. this is just a single example - there are more. too many.

now to the bibas family.

the information published by the media is that israeli intelligence knew about their murder early after it happened (back in november 2023). the family was told that there's "a grave concern for their fate", which is (as the israeli public had since learned) is official lingo for "we really think we're dead but we can't prove it".

the "we can't prove it" part is exactly the point. there was an official committee decision that since there's a lack of material forensic evidence, the bibas family - shiri and the kids - can't be legally declared dead. it wasn't a special, unusual decision, made to torment their relatives or fool the public. it's literally how it's always been with victims of 7/10.

the bibas family have also publicly said, several times, that they refuse to assume shiri and the kids dead and give up on them before there's proof. yarden, when he was returned, also refused to do so, despite the famous video from captivity where he breaks down after his captors tell him shiri and the kids are dead.

even as hamas declared that the bodies to be returned this week are gonna be of shiri and the kids, the bibas family explicitly asked for people to not eulogize their loved ones until there's forensic confirmation of their identities. it was THEIR request and their decision to hang on to hope that they might be alive until the last possible moment.

one last thing i'll mention is that hamas have lied about the fate of the hostages before. they've claimed one elderly hostage (i think it was hannah katzir) died in captivity, but she was later released alive, if in severe condition. (she eventually passed away from the damages done to her body while in captivity.) they've filmed "the body" of daniella gilbo'a, claiming she died in an iaf bombing. she was eventually returned alive and well in the current deal, and told the truth - hamas made a whole production staging her death, using her. and most importantly, hamas refused, again and again, to provide evidence that shiri and the kids are dead, despite repeatedly being asked to do so. so yes, israeli intelligence services "knew" they were dead via their own means. but officially, publicly, it was impossible to declare them as such. and hamas' own vagueness and history of lies about the hostages' fates made it so the israeli public - and specifically the bibas family relatives - could not know for sure that they're gone, during all this time.

so people who choose to believe there's some grand evil conspiracy can do so if they like. for us israelis, it's another piece that fits the puzzle of horrific tragedy that started in 7/10.
