ah hey you know what? Perfect time to use this lil sprite i made for myself just to show my pissed off side cause mikado fucked up- *ahem*
mikado?
Tumblr media
shut the ever living fuck up..you magician wannabe..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh look, the other Miss Sahpree is coming to defend her inferior self. How-
*Suddenly Mikado is slammed into the floor as a fist collides with his body*
Tumblr media
Owwww...what was that?
Tumblr media
SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP!
Tumblr media
Given everything you have done, I have half a mind to beat you to death right here and there!
Tumblr media
Aliza is NOT responsible for what transpired here. You teleported away before she had the chance to end you, so yeah Aliza WAS planning to kill you for what you've done.
Tumblr media
Besides I never got my own back for you trying to burn me alive for no good reason, and this seems like an ideal time to do so!
Tumblr media
Well then...this got boring very quickly.
Tumblr media
Besides I only really came to see if Miss Magorobi is here and she is, so we are gonna go and find Mr. Makunouchi and Miss Nijiue.
Tumblr media
That is NOT happening Sannoji! Magorobi didn't plan for Review Anon to behave like this, and I'm sure the same applies to Ouma and Yomiuri as well!
Tumblr media
Oh you are so sure of that Mr. Naegi? Well I'm sorry to say but we all planned this.
Tumblr media
No we didn't-
Tumblr media
....*Mikado glares at Kokichi*
Tumblr media
...*Kokichi backs down*
Tumblr media
...Maybe I should have killed you when I had the chance.
Tumblr media
But Nikei...Kokichi...Emma...listen to me...Don't listen to Sannoji. He's the one in the wrong here, he's just gaslighting you three into thinking you wanted this, when you clearly didn't.
Tumblr media
Trust me...I know from experience about people who claim to love you twisting the truth to benefit themselves. Sannoji was the only one who wanted the events that transpired to occur.
Tumblr media
So come on...help us out here and tell your boss how you really feel about him.
Tumblr media
...Does it matter? Everyone on the Voidship hates us now. Our mistake is that we shouldn't have agreed to the plan anyway.
Tumblr media
Besides why are you trying to apply to our better natures? We are evil, we have no better natures!
Tumblr media
Kokichi...I know when you act like this, its because you don't want people to see you as weak.
Tumblr media
But its not a excuse to not try to redeem ourselves guys?
Tumblr media
Emma please stop...you know what Mikado would do if this keeps up.
Tumblr media
And? He wasn't our original leader and his magic is drained now, so he's lost a lot of his power. We didn't want this to occur, we didn't want anyone getting seriously hurt here.
Tumblr media
Oh that's rich coming from you Miss Magorobi...After all...I might have been fighting Miss Sahpree at the time but...
Tumblr media
Didn't you try to strike Miss Maizono with a brick covered in snow behind her head?
Tumblr media
WHAT?!
Tumblr media
H-how did you....H-how did you...know?

"詐欺師... [sagishi...]"
╰┈➤ ❝𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫❞
𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 -> 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛
Definition: deliberately cause (someone) to believe something that is not true, especially for personal gain.
"𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞."
Hantengu x Fem!Reader [Drabble]
Synopsis: She is yet again given another reminder of why she shut herself away...
Warnings: Very brief mention of NSFW at Karaku's part.
Reader key features + fact: You're taller than Urami (choose your height). You're also some glowing ethereal being who tries to help humanity but you've been betrayed by someone who you trusted with this goal also.
Note: MKX's Shinnok's one quote when he curses at Johnny, Sonya and Kenshi motivated me to do this. Good way to kickstart my writing mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ever since that day, she refused to let anyone have the privilege of gaining her trust once more and thus shut herself away...
This was the first time she had ever been with someone so close after millenia. It was difficult to trust someone again after the betrayal she had gone through, but this kind gentleman had gotten her to open up once more as he was welcomed into her sanctuary. He is such a sensitive and rather 'weak' individual, but she did not judge him for that, not in the slightest. In fact, it gave him a sort of charm that no other had. "You and alters amuse me." Said the giantess as she looked down at her small companion in her palm. "I-I do?" The man – more specifically, demon – replied as he tilted his small head up to look at his bigger lady friend. "I've been on my own for quite some time. It's nice to talk to someone or people." The woman chuckled at the irony of Hantengu being an individual yet not at the same time. She found it quite odd at first and was curious too, however, she gradually grew used to all of them and their personalities and came to enjoy their company very much.
The first time she met him, he was a sobbing mess. She pitied him greatly and thus allowed him to find solace and peace within her temple, giving him as much time as he needed to calm down. She wasn't very willing to speak to him the first time but overtime, he kept appearing until she took the initiative. To her, it was the best decision she's ever made as she learned of the evils committed against him. The woman would come to learn of so-called Demon Slayers committing crimes against him and his race. They could not help that they fed off of humans and it was now also her goal to ensure that his race have a place in the paradise she wishes to bring upon the living. That she promised him. Hantengu on the other hand, couldn't help but be moved by her vow to him despite being actively aware of his 'half truths'. However, what he told her wasn't a lie. It was the truth! He is innocent!
There are many times she finds one of the Hantengus finding solace in her presence. Even the loudest clone, Urogi, finds himself being surprisingly peaceful when he's around her. "What is your place in this world?" He asked curiously as he perched on her broad shoulder. "I am here to better it, no matter how long it takes, no matter how gruelling the process may be. I am here to better it for all the innocent who suffer from the cruelties of evil." The woman he could only describe as a sort of 'guardian', responded with a gentle smile before raising a hand to caress her harpy demon companion's handsome face. Urogi trilled in joy before rubbing his head against hers and taking flight, cawing and making other bird calls for her as he flew around her. She much enjoyed Urogi's companionship because of how easily he is able to lift her spirits. He isn't the clone of joy for nothing. "Come, dear. I want to show you something." The giantess beckons Urogi to follow as she leads him towards a space that doesn't quite make sense. A space much like the Infinity Castle, however, out in a void with many floating islands and starts in the distance. The dimension was filled with muted colours of purple, grey with the brightest colour being a glowing yellow.
The harpy demon looked around with curiosity and shock as he noticed his entire form get changed to match the same colours of the realm. Only the guardian kept hers as her glow brightens which almost calls to him as he then sticks to her side like glue. The clone of joy also realised how gravity seems to be a much less than what he's used, much to his amusement. "This is the Realm of Forgotten Souls... A place for those I punish." Despite her soft and gentle tone, there is a sort of sharpness in her eyes that intimidates even him, the mighty Upper Four. He nods softly as his eyes scan as much as they can, intrigued by this odd vacuum of islands and trees and giant glowing crystals. This was all so odd to him. "This is a place I do not come to often..." A hint of solemnity was present in her voice, he realised this place must be quite grim. "But it is a punishment for those who commit acts of evil. Your sense of justice, especially Zohakuten pushed me into showing you this. Thank you, for contributing."
He never saw much of that place again and never asked of it either. He only cared for his amusement. Part of his sick mind was amused that this guardian of sorts was under the impression that he and the others were saviours to their own race who strive for justice. He only knows that he himself is innocent, a delusion he shares with his main body. Otherwise, Urogi sees a human just like any demon. Mere cattle. A delicacy for his etched tongue. The others thought much the same and showed little care in changing their ways. However, it would come as a surprise to all of them that Hantengu would have a rapidly ever growing fondness for this giantess and she much the same. Being the same person of different stages in life, they too felt a growing affection towards her and began putting effort in keeping their grotesque ways hidden from her pure eyes. That's what they all began to view her as. A pure woman and strong woman with intentions so great, so good, that they honestly believed that humanity didn't deserve her as their saviour, but rather just him. Hantengu deserved her and he would make it a point to show her. Hantengu is the one she saw the most. He would often be resting in her palm as she and him gazed up at the stars peacefully without him constantly chatter of those who wrong him.
He would find himself listening to her gentle voice, "I can't help but like you more and more, dear. Is it some charm of yours I'm not aware of?" and admiring her glowing face as she looked at him with kind eyes before being surprised by a sweet kiss on his forehead. "If that's what it is, then it worked rather flawlessly, I'd say." She smiled softly at her small demon companion who was currently stuttering to the point where he couldn't even speak. It was then that he knew he needed to court her. Sekido would begin to visit her more often in her Garden of Virtue. He would bask in her divine light that caused him no harm as he would make conversation with her, growing closer the same way Hantengu did. "Your radiance has intrigued me from the moment we met. Perhaps we were fated to come across one another." He mused absentmindedly, unknowingly causing his giantess to slowly fall for him harder. His deep and gruff voice had always sounded pleasant to her ears. It was firm, filled with a fire and determination that she greatly admired. "Mayhaps, dear." She responds softly, smiling fondly at Sekido who merely grabbed her hand gently without a hint of shame. Sekido is the more calm and serious one when it comes to courting her, much like Aizetsu who is a tad more vulnerable.
Surprisingly enough, he was the one who managed to coax her into exploring the outside world once more and he's the one who ultimately had the privilege of connecting his lips with hers first. It was sweet filled with much passion yet a surprising bit of innocence from the guardian herself. Instantly, he realised that she's never had a man, much to his surprise. However, things seem to be in his favour as he and his clones have a considerate amount experience with women (fucking whores). Sekido continued kissing her with a surprising amount of gentleness, pulling her shrunken frame closer to his toned one. The kiss had left her feeling weak all over despite it holding a surprising amount of chasteness and an equal amount of passion. That night had strengthened their bond even more and when they returned, she her fondness for her companion(s) grew more and more. "You are... charming." "As are you, my heavenly light." 'Light' or 'Star' were the nicknames Sekido had given to her. Star being for the bright lights in the sky that reminded him of her, and Light being the heavenly light that shines upon those virtuous like himself.
Urogi had the easiest time courting her. He brought her many things (that did not include flesh and blood) as gifts and trinkets of appreciation and showed her what great fun "life" could be. The very first thing he did was take her to the skies after having requested of her to shrink her size. "Shrink, there's something I want to show you." "Okay?" He was pleasantly surprised when she complied and waited to see what he would do. Urogi did quite startle her when he suddenly charged at her with his wings flared before he was in the sky within a second, but that soon changed to joyous and awe-struck laughter when she realised what he was doing. He had privilege of seeing her glowing eyes look around and at him with much joy and awe, it was clear to him that she had isolated herself after her betrayal and couldn't help but pity her slightly. He made sure to give her a show to remember. "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" And he was quite bold with it too. By the time they returned, he had successfully managed to strengthen her attachment to him which he was quite proud of. "A smile does your face better, you know?" "Thank you."
Aizetsu was far more gentle and romantic. He, much like the emotion he is manifested from, was there for her in her most vulnerable. He was the reason she opened up so easily. He saw her tears and couldn't help but feel so much pity for her as she hid her face in her hands which were unable to contain her almost never-ending tears that flowed like raging waters breaking down a dam. "I was... betrayed. Trapped and imprisoned after having stolen everything." This person she once trusted was a friend. A friend whom she thought shared the same ideals or... once shared the same ideals. "Power corrupts and (s)he fell into that never-ending abyss of greed." The clone of sorrow came to learn that her prison was a realm of floating islands with dead trees while she was changed to the biggest one. She was only freed by chance and sought revenge. "Did you get your revenge?" The giantess only stared in the distance with her glowing tear glazed eyes, not saying a word or nodding her head. Aizetsu knew what her answer was. The demon of sorrow made sure to never ask her that question again, not wanting to bring up any unwanted memories.
Instead, he used what he learned and comforted her, healed her bruised heart and her repaired her fractured trust. Aizetsu often engaged in quality time and allowed himself to be vulnerable with her, told her what woes his sorrowful heart carries whenever he had the time and noticed that she appreciated such vulnerability. His compassion is the reason for the many blessings they have received from her in battle. It's why they even killed a three Hashiras. "It takes much bravery to be open like this." "... Indeed." "Thank you." Aizetsu knew what trouble she has to open up once more and he aided her into being vulnerable, to show her that not everything in this world is deceives. Then follows Karaku's courting. His way of courting her is far more... direct. Unlike the others – with the exception of Urogi – who tried to keep their feelings at a minimum, Karaku did not even attempt to do so. He flirted with her often, albeit respectfully and made brave yet brazen moves on her also. It's one of the main reason, she shrunk down to their level. His physical affections were much too enticing and charming to resist, and his words even more so.
"My, my, I truly feel sorry for you, my lovely star. Truly have you had no man compliment what a beautiful frame you have been blessed with? No man as chivalrous as myself?" He even changed his rather lazy and informal way of speaking just for her. The emerald-eyed demon grabbed her by the waist gently and twirled her around, eliciting a giggle out of her. "Then let me be the first to say that you have a lovely frame. You're delicious eye candy." He made sure to emphasise his words using the sharpness of his voice to make it sound more... enticing. His intentions with her were quite clear, yet he knew that she couldn't tell. He, like his clones, were very much aware of her purity and Karaku intended on winning her true affections... The demon of pleasure had come up with many ways of gaining her trust and affections though he particularly stuck to one. Simple flirting and seductive gestures or behaviour. It came as no surprise to him that it soon worked in his favour. "This is how a man makes a woman feel..." He could remember the way her voice sounded, the way she called out to him, "Karaku..." and the way he moved her innocent body. He could remember the way he had touched her and the way she had touched him so shyly. He could remember how she he had exhausted her. He could remember how she felt...
Karaku's little contribution was the final nail in the coffin. No more had to be done, yet they continued anyways. Urami and Zohakuten finally made their appearance, nothing else was needed except to protect her with almost their lives. "You two are quite a surprise. Seeing you is like seeing a blue moon." The two were humbled by her presence and did not much but spend their time with her without the interruption of the other four. "We waited for the other four to finish courting you, that way, we wouldn't be interrupted by their monkey business." She couldn't help but chuckle at Urami's way of describing his younger selves. The woman found them quite charming, despite it being "money business". "He's right. They can be quite... overbearing." It's their arrogance at being the main four that makes them want everything and they couldn't exactly blame them since they share the same amount of ego, but it is quite irritating. Ultimately, Zohakuten and Urami were the ones who ensured that nothing of what they do got to her. Hence why they specifically requested her to take Hantengu elsewhere in battles since that where the meet more often than in her own home.
Hantengu, Zohakuten and Urami all had their share with her for a a few nights and days to follow seeing as the four were now sated enough for them to be left at peace. "I will try to better this place for your race also..." They then heard her speak solemnly. "The humans are the plague of this world." But she disagreed. Their giantess explained to them why they too suffer, wanting to show her way of of thinking and life. They only listened in silence to her passionate speech. The night was rather peaceful and uneventful, just as they had wished. Their mere presence was enough for one another. With all that was done for her, she too wanted to learn more of him. His entire life actually. However, she came to the discouraging fact that he remembered nothing of his human life, only mere fractions which was far too little for her. So, one day, she looked into his past, eager the learn more of her new lover and to perhaps surprise him.
Tumblr media
He was no sweetheart, it seems. A murderer, a liar and manipulator of the worst kind. She could not possibly fathom how one could so easily kill their own kin and the very person who helped bring such beauty to life. His race was the bane of humanity's existence. That's why the "villain Slayers" want them gone. It was then she remembered why she had isolated herself from others, child or not...
"MISERABLE WRETCH! INSIGNIFICANT SPEC OF FECULENT SCUM! HOW DARE YOU!"
The five jumped back in surprise at her booming voice and powerful glare. They wondered why she was angry at them. What had they done? "It is YOU!!! You are the reason they suffer also!" They realised that this was no joke, she was yelling at them in anger and scorn. All the love and affection they had once known in her entire demeanour was gone, just like that. "My radiant star, what do you mean? Please, calm yourself!" Aizetsu was the first to speak up. The first to dare so bravely. "How dare you lie to me!!" The accusation of lying prompted Hantengu to speak up. Merely an accusation against him caused him to speak despite his cowardly personality. "N-No! N-Never! I-I've never.. I-I've nev-ver lied! Not t-to you!" But the she wasn't listening. She wouldn't listen, not to a monster, a beast, a savage like him. "You killed your CHILDREN! WIVES! And those poor souls you devoured! What had they done, beast?!" They backed away, tensing up and preparing to defend themselves should their once lover now enemy attack them.
"What had they done to deserve death?! ANSWER ME, BEAST!" The bright light she emitted that once provided them with comfort and warmth, peace and a sense of security, now filled them with nothing but fear. The guardian refused to let them leave and trapped them with her magic, trapping them in chains and disarming them. "My lovely—" "DO NOT REFER TO ME AS SUCH, BEAST!!" It was futile. She refused to listen and they realised that she would kill them if they did not escape as soon as possible. Hantengu ceased his struggle and attempts to convince his once lover of his innocence, only searching for an escape while his clones distracted her. The words he heard stung his still heart as he truly believed that he had been betrayed. "DECEIVER!!" He truly believed that he was wronged, that he was no monster to humanity and that he was virtuous. In the end, his captivity did not last long as he was soon freed of his restraints, disappearing into thin air and leaving her there, standing alone and allowing the truth of the person she trusted sink in. Yet even after they left, she was still able to say her final words to him, her ghastly voice echoing in his mind filled with scorn and disgust. "I will purge your race off of the face of this Earth and free humanity of your master's vile clutches."
"And you, my love, will pay the ultimate price for using me for your disgusting gain and ideals. I will see to it that you are freed from your master's control and back in my grasp. You will have the privilege of feeling and witnessing my wrath..."
Deceiver...

₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊The 17th Day of Writemas₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊
Sup guys! How y’all doing on this fine day? I know for one, I am doing amazing. If y’all don’t know about this writing challenge yet then look here at the invite post for all the info!! Today’s prompts are right here! I cannot believe this is almost over, wow. It feels like I just started this.
Prompts used:
Feeling: The sparkle of stars armor
Dialogue: "Take that look off your face. Take your pity and drown in it."
Setting: Nothingness
I had a lot of fun showing a lot of Idalia’s strict tough-on-crime(despite running an ““ex”” crime ring) attitude today! Sure hope this doesn’t come as a response from any past experience wink wink... Have as much fun reading it as I did making it! <3
Read about the WIP here!!
Enjoy!!
------------------------------
“What’s this one’s deal?” Idalia spoke, carefully fitting her gauntlet over her fingers, and looking down from her desk to stare directly at the Countress, the defendant of Milev, and the offender, a cuffed young girl, by her side, “Countress, please present the Watch’s case for the criminal.'“
A young girl screamed aloud suddenly, her voice cracking as it filled with as much confusion as it did fear, “Criminal? But I haven’t even had a trial yet! Please, lady, find some compassion within your soul—”
A smack to the girl’s mouth came from the Countress using the back of her armored hand, “Quiet you! Don’t you dare plead with the Sovereign Mistress now when you yourself were the one to have committed an unlawful offense against the people of Milev. We know what we saw. You are very lucky to not already be dead”, she muttered.
The Countress went on, “Lady of the people, ma’am, I hereby declare to you that this criminal sent here today has broken the natural law and brought disorder to Milev. The Watch has given me all the details that I have outlined for you on the parchment before you. Including, but not limited to, theft, destruction of property, resisting arrest, and threatening a Watch member, which is an act of terrorism, as discussed. I suggest skimming the stack of papers over and making a decision accordingly.”
Atop the tall desk standing overhead of the two, Idalia adjusted herself in her tall throne-like seat, leaning back onto her chair and kicking up one of her heavy boots to sit atop the desk. She glanced at a few of the pages and nodded to herself, making a verdict in her head.
Idalia folded her hands together, “Hm. Well, the cleaners are free today. So, I guess that means this strong-willed young lady will be dealt with by them now. Guards, you are relieved of your Watch duties for right now, take her off right away, please. Everyone else is dismissed.”
“Please reconsider the punishment! Please!” The girl yelled through the commotion again.
The girl pleaded on her knees and up to Idalia. From all the way at the top of the desk, not much could she pick out from her oppressor. Though small tendrils of striking red hair and sparkles of her pristine armor could be partially seen peeking out of the dark nothingness that presented itself before the girl, it was like she was trapped in a black void as something came to swallow her up whole. Dread hit her hard, nothing then at the moment could humanize the women sending her to her death. It was torturous.
"Take that look off your face. Take your pity and drown in it." Idalia decisively stated, her face revealing itself from the darkness.
Grabbing the girl by the chains and yanking her out of the Sentencing Chamber, the Watch members guarding the room dragged her to another room across the hall. Echoed screams tried to escape back into the room to Idalia for mercy. But, with one swift move, the Countress of the closed case shut the doors, silencing the room.
The Countress wrapped her flowing white hair up into a loose bun on top of her head. She hid her angular face by putting back on her silver helmet that she kept on the table beside her. Masking her pale blue skin, she snapped the heavy metal helmet back into place. In a voice concealed by her helmet she spoke to Idalia again, but a bit more casual this time.
“Last one down, my liege.” She smirked up to Idalia.
Idalia sighed, rubbing her tired eyes with her charcoal hands, as she got up her chair and off the desk she watched over the trial on, “It’s such a shame to have crime on the loose. And here I thought I had eradicated all danger from Milev by now. But no, it feels like more than ever rogues have come into town and broken all the laws I set to protect our own.”
“Mistress, do not worry any further. If more ever do show their faces, fear will work well to keep them in line. Just as well as it does with the Milev citizens. Which is just what we need to prosper.”
“It’s not about prosperity, Countress Aisik. It’s about survival. And agreeing to complete order and passivity for those who are to be protected by us, so we have a reason to die for their safety.”
“Yes. What you wish, my lady.” Aisik held in her tongue as she faithfully bowed her head to her leader.

For the first time in 10+ years, I FINALLY have a design for the mother of Azul/Chester and Reuben. I took notes from her father Amir/Amaros' outfit.
Rest of the fam: Dad I Uncle I Hubby I Son 1 I Son 2 (& the adoptive fam) I Dad's new LI
Bio Below:
Name: Saba Samaros
Nicknames: Soul Guide (official Deity title) Soul princess/princess of Souls (less official but often used - she dislikes this one) Lady Saba.
Age: Old. but she roughly appears as someone around their thirties as that's when she died and was resurrected as a Deity.
Height: 172 cm
The Daughter of Soul Eater Deity Amaros, typically taking the shape of a Panther familiar. She also performs the task of guiding the souls of Soul Eaters and those connected to their families (spouses, children, etc. who aren't naturally S.E themselves) into the afterlife.
Family: Father Amir (now known as Amaros), late mother Theya, hubby/partner in crime Shaell, sons Azul and Reuben, uncle Samar.
Role: A companion to her father/guide for her sons later on.
Love interest: Shaell (An orphan raised by the Witch Covenant who was adapt with extremely rare and powerful magic type called the Void - he became known as the Void God later on)
Rival: Shaell (in a playful manner)
Powers:
Flame magic: Saba inherited very powerful fire magic from her late mother Theya, and her powers still take the shape of flames even when she's not using actual fire.
Immortality: being a Deity essentially, she does not age from the moment she was turned, and doesn't get sick either. Like her hubby, she is also incredibly difficult to damage.
Swordsmanship: She was always an excellent swordswoman, trained by her uncle and continuing to practice with her hubby later on.
Soul Eater powers: Being a Soul eater deity essentially, Saba can manipulate souls near freely like her father (telepathy, possession, blocking abilities, devouring them, etc), though she cannot grant Soul Eater powers to anyone like Amaros can.
Transformation: Saba is capable of transforming between her human form and the panther, with panther being her current default.
Weaknesses:
Saba cannot remain in her human form for too long, and her life-force is tied to her father currently; if he is hurt, so is she.
(MORE TBA)
Personality:
Saba is quite strong-willed and passionate, known for being impulsive. She is quick to think on her feet and generally able to compensate her impulsivity with her sharp wit. She has very good intuition and can tell quite fast what kind of person someone is. (an ability her younger son Reuben inherited)
She has little patience for politics and what she finds needless chit-chat, preferring to take action over waiting for permission to do things. (a trait she shares with Shaell)
While very fiery in nature, Saba is also known to be empathetic and having a very strong sense of justice, where she is willing to even go against her loved ones if necessary. She had a lot of arguments with her father and uncle about their actions during the war-times she lived in, shortly before dying/being resurrected as the Godly Panther.
Like Shaell, she can be quite mischievous as well, known for pulling harmless pranks on people since she was a child.
BG Story
Saba was born to two powerful sorcerers of high status in her Kingdom at the time, Amir and Theya. Sadly her mother passed away in childbirth, leaving her father rising her alone, though he had help from his brother Samar. Saba as a result was very close with both, learning how to use her wit from Amir, and her strength from Samar. During a crisis with tensions rising between her kingdom and another, Saba ends up meeting a man from the nearby Witch Covenant known to raise a lot of orphans with potent magic in them. They end up working together to foil a secret assassination coup that could've triggered a war. Her and Shaell remain as close friends for a while, before they actually fall in love. At some point, Saba gives birth to their first son Azul, whom she births in the Covenant grounds as Shaell had been concerned for her health, thinking it'd be safer for her, as the witches understood the dangers and troubles of pregnancy far better than the doctors in the kingdom (who were often male). Some years later their second child is born, but shortly after that a war breaks out. During an invasion and battle, Saba is fatally wounded by the enemy and her soul is almost destroyed. Her father performs an ancient forbidden ritual to try and save her life, which ends up transforming her soul into something akin to a Deity - but with the cost of her human form. She is also separated from her family, as her husband and children get thrown into the flow of time, seemingly dying in the process. She finds out eons later that Shaell is actually alive during a battle against her now insane uncle - and then seemingly dies again, until she finds out her sons are ALSO alive and Shaell ALSO did not die either and is guiding their older son to rescue him from the prison he was put in.
FUN FACTS
Saba is bi
She doesn't mind her father's relationship with Helias, glad to see him happy with someone again after so long.
In the beginning Saba didn't even ask Shaell's name at first upon finding out he could help her foil the conspiracy coup; She just called him "The covenant man" (he went along with it thinking she was ignoring his name on purpose due to her higher status, only realizing later she just....forgot to ask in the heat of the situation.)
Saba is a lil salty neither of her sons inherited her eyes, but also really loves the sunrise-look of Shaell's so she can't be too mad. (Reuben at least got her glorious hair color)
Saba's uncle didn't really approve their relationship as he had a biased negative opinion of the Witch Covenant men, who tended to prefer using their heads and be strategic (I.E "be deceitful and full of trickery" in Samar's eyes) rather than facing things head on.
Saba's first reaction to finding out her hubby had semi-accidentally created a following was "I turn my back for FIVE seconds and you're already starting personality cults - without me." (it was a joke of course)
While her and Shaell tend to be very witty and sarcastic towards each other, people can still tell they are very much in love from just the way they tend to look at each other.
Their love language in general tends to be more physical affection and acts of service rather than words.
Saba is especially fond of the daughter of one of the Soul eaters more directly related to her through her uncle's affair with the last person ever that her father turned into Soul Eater;the distant descendant of a woman known as "Lady Araknos," a little girl called Hitomi Blackthorne. She often visits her and helps her learn more about her abilities.

I was just wondering, in regards to my earlier repost......would it have made a lot more sense to position the Tyburs as Eren's main opponent in saving Paradis and thus making them a more proactive presence, regardless of whether the Rumbling remains canon?
The Tyburs are as I said before, an utterly underwhelming factor of the story given how quickly they are killed after the truly baffling revelation that they are Eldian themselves governing Marley. And General Theo Magath hardly justifies his involvement as he too is killed off criminally early in his campaign to stop Eren and perhaps even is too quick to see the error of his ways in the pacing of the final arc. Sure him seeing how badly Marley screwed itself is a slightly better executed "arc" compared to Gabi's bullshit story where she still faced nothing for her crimes, but his impact is still middling by the time he dies with Keith at his side.
Perhaps if Willy had been leading the charge and Lara was actually built up as a warrior in her own right and not some random homemaker lady with no plot or personality to go by....or if someone else had been given the bloody Warhammer and actually executed its awesome power.....I mean it's an Eldian clan willing to wipe out their own kind up against the Eldians determined to reclaim their place in the world, I feel like the points expressed through characters like Magath or even Garbage Braun could have been better conveyed through the Tyburs going up directly against Eren rather than further distracting us with one plot that proved inconsequential and several character arcs that further distracted from the main flow of the story.
And to those of you still foaming at the mouth at Willy's iconic death in "Declaration of War", save your spazzing out for someone who gives a damn, that episode is as shit as the rest of this three year long final season. It's a stupid death when you consider how it voided such a puzzling revelation on Marley's side of the story.
Obviously I haven't worked out all the finer details so I'm sure there's some holes in my logic.....but I feel like several major points could have been salvaged with a different approach here. Something I think worth discussing.
Tumblr media
Shout-out to @glassesntea for their original post on the topic of the Tyburs. I think if you're going to introduce this kind of information into the story, you should follow through on it. Make it come full circle. Isayama really dropped the ball on this, harder than when Gabbitch Braun was dropped on her head at birth.

I want more of the Tobecky fan kids!!! Please!! Headcanons perchance? Mayhaps?? Or art? (Smiles)
Yay!! Thank you so much for the ask!!!! Ahhh, yeah, me too, kid. But unfortunately, I just can't spend my days dedicated to those three gremlins. Even though SOME might argue I do anyway...considering they take up 45 percent of my Wordgirl AU. Ahem, regardless!
I can give some headcanons. As for art. I WISH. MAN, I LOVE BEING AN "ARTIST" BUT ALSO HAVING EXECUTIVE DYSFUNCTION (screams into void)
But yeah, headcanon time (these are random):
- Two of the three have bitten people before. I won't say who. Lol.
- Tori actually didn't have powers of flight until she was 11. I think I've mentioned that before(?), but yeah. It's actually pretty rare for a lexiconian hybrid to do so, but with her stubbornness and free spirit, she willed it to make it possible ig. Also, yes, she's the only one of three who can legitimately. Luis, of course, doesn't have powers, so that's why. And Matilda, she can only levitate herself or her chair. So yes, she can fly but not like fly fly.
- Luis once downloaded a virus to Tobey's computer system that he uses for everything in his work. He was trying to get a free robux downloader. Tobey for a week had to explain to his colleagues that no, he wasn't intentionally clicking on those kinds of ads.
- Matilda hates the taste of cucumbers but likes pickles. Luis thinks this is a crime.
- There have been a total of 12 Botsford (McCallister) family trials. With Tori and Luis currently tied with having the most prosecutions against them. They have never won their cases...thanks mom.
- Believe it or not. Matilda has been mega grounded once. To be fair, she almost did put every citizen into a coma with one of her experiments. Oops.
- Tori sees Becky as more of a dad and sees Tobey as a mom. While Luis sees Tobey as a dad and Becky as a mom. And Matilda sees two moms. (If this doesn't make sense, good. But also, binary gendered parental roles? In this family? As if.)
- Luis comes out as gay every 5 months. He expects shock every time. The family plays along.
- Do they play instruments? (I also think I've said this before, BUT YKNOW LETS RUN IT BACK). Tori is an accordion girl (Thank you, Grandma Sally). Luis can play multiple, but piano is his favorite (ha). And Matilda has started the violin.
- During her senior prom, Tori did enlist the help of her siblings to bring in some of their Dad's inventions to liven up the party. It went down as most would expect....but she was only grounded for allowing, at the time, a 10 year-old (Luis) and 6-year-old (Matilda) to sneak out and stay past their bedtime.
-Also, lol Luis had a bedtime.

Dream Alliance: Jambastion Rebirth
So yesterday I was archiving the text from all my DeviantArt posts about the DreamAll AU, and it was really fun to read through all that lore and story again. ^^ It’s unfortunate that I was working on it during my transition from DA to here; I feel like a LOT of info got lost in the confusion. But at least now I have it all in my own files to reference (or retell) later…especially if I ever get around to reviving/expanding on the AU like I’ve always wanted. There are a lot of unused scripts and ideas waiting for that day…
And since I was feeling inspired today, here’s one of ‘em. ^^ Since this was such a dark idea that I don’t really consider “canon” to the AU, I never really wrote it down or anything…but it made for such a good story that I held onto it in my heart~. Warning: LOOOOOOONG post ahead. ^^
So at the end of DreamAll’s story, Magolor and Division Six risk their lives and defeat Void Termina, yadda yadda…but once the world is finally safe from that threat, its next big question is: how can we make sure we’re safe from the teenage mad scientist with the god-killing mecha and bioengineered alien attack dogs…?
Basically, Magolor inadvertently made himself so powerful that the rest of the Dream Alliance and the world is kinda scared of him now. ^^; And as I showed in the final comic, Susie Haltmann takes it upon herself to investigate him and find out what his deal is…and in doing so, learns that he’s actually a Jambastion mage, and Hyness’ estranged son. And thus, the scheming begins~.
Mind you, Susie doesn’t really have anything against Magolor. It’s just that the pressure of essentially becoming president of the world, coupled with the revelation that Magolor is not only an eccentric genius, but also a dimension-bending dark mage that she doesn’t know how to control…it leads her to fall back on old (villainous…) habits and start to treat him like an obstacle, to be overcome by any means necessary.
And her first play would be to use the threat of Hyness’ execution to get Magolor to spill his guts: to tell the truth about his magic powers, explain in detail everything he did to create the Void Destroyer system, and get it all on the record so that he can’t lie about it anymore. Which I think Mago would agree to immediately-- he doesn’t want to see his father die (despite his literal crimes against humanity), and tbh he’d probably be kinda glad to have the weight of that deception off his shoulders. Unfortunately, he’s not worldly enough to understand that divulging all this information is the beginning of the end…
Next play: regulations. Now that the crisis is over, the Dream Alliance’s superweapons will naturally have to be decommissioned…including Magolor’s ‘angels’. Seeing as they’re technically not living things (as per Mago’s explanation) Susie would demand that he toe the line and put them down, or at least demonstrate that he’s willing and able to cut them off from his power on command.
And naturally, Magolor would think of this as going a bridge too far. Marx, Galacta, and Morpho might not have their own life force, but they’re still sentient beings who love and trust him as their creator. And if it’s a choice between betraying that trust and leaving the Dream Alliance entirely, he’s inclined to choose the latter.
And ^that is the decision Susie would be waiting for: proof that, when pushed, Magolor cannot be trusted to act in the ‘public interest’. And considering what he’s capable of, it’s now in the public interest for the Dream Alliance to find a way to contain him.
Of course, she doesn’t go after him right away-- she simply waits for him to come to her, thinking he can convince her that his angels are more than just weapons. When that fails, he resigns on the spot…unfortunately, he never actually gets the chance to leave.
Based on everything Magolor’s explained about the way his magic works…she decides her best bet is to cut off his hands, severing his connection to his vambraces and sending him into shock from blood loss all at once. Both serve to severely weaken all of his subconscious magic use, and his angels by extension-- Galacta collapses, and Morpho straight-up disintegrates. Marx is the only one able to remain conscious without his master’s direct influence, and immediately realizes that something is seriously wrong. His first instinct is to rush to find Magolor and slaughter anyone in his way…unfortunately, he discovers that he doesn’t have his flight powers anymore. Without his usual magic strength, he can hardly even move his prosthetic arms, and is easily captured when Magolor’s lab is raided.
Fortunately, Meta Knight is one of the arresting officers, and decides to take pity on Marx and “lose track of him”, letting him leave in the dead of night for parts unknown. He disappears for a couple years, skulking in the shadows, stealing food when no one’s looking, being miserable and missing all his friends.
But during all that time, he’s also preparing…he spends most of his days retraining his body to adjust to the much smaller amount of magic that he has access to, and trying to find information on the dissolution of Division Six and Magolor’s whereabouts…which proves to be pretty difficult. So eventually, when he finally gets a decent amount of fighting strength back, he decides to start his revenge plot by finding an ally: Magolor’s father, who’s still imprisoned where he’s always been.
Hyness has never met Marx before, but he remembers Magolor’s mentions of him. And besides, they both share a deep concern for Magolor and the willingness to do anything to save him. So Marx explains the situation and breaks him out, setting his plan in motion.
He realizes that Susie will have seen him through the security cameras, and will predict that he’s coming for Magolor. So he decides that his true next target will be Galacta Knight, and asks Hyness to use his powers to find and awaken him first.
After being forced to use his magic just to keep himself alive during his long imprisonment (which by this point, ended up approaching the decade mark) and having his hands removed as well, Hyness is also a lot weaker than he used to be. But he has experience on his side, and quickly adjusts by using the magic stored in his cape (basically, what I was foreshadowing back when I drew this). Together he and Marx make a fairly powerful team, forcing their way into the facility where GK is being stored, and setting him free to unleash his wrath.
^This is a decision Magolor would probably take issue with, if he were present to give his opinion on it-- he’d be against triggering GK into a psychotic break just to create a diversion, knowing all that death and destruction would weigh heavily on his conscience afterwards. But Marx, being in a desperate and angry place, doesn’t care, and figures potentially scarring his little brother is a small price to pay to get their family back together.
And while Galacta Knight is out acting as a weapon of mass destruction, Marx and Hyness manage to find and release Morpho Knight as well. Morpho has very nearly reverted back to the unresponsive energy blob that he was when Magolor first found him…but he’s at least conscious enough to follow his brothers around and help protect them occasionally. Marx leaves him with GK and follows Hyness to Magolor’s location, deep within Dream Alliance HQ.
How things go from there is a little more nebulous…I think it would probably start out as a stealth mission, which would take an unfortunately bloody turn before Magolor is finally found and revived. I think Morpho and Galacta would eventually catch up with them there and make things even bloodier. ^^; I think Susie would get into a big ‘tech vs. magic’ fight with Division Six that’s honestly been a long time coming. And I think Magolor, despite having just been awakened from a years-long medically-induced coma, would be forced to take point as the most powerful mage left in the group, and do something drastic just to put an end to the conflict and get everyone out of there.
The aftermath would be bittersweet, and a bit ironic-- essentially, Magolor would be forced to go back to living in a secret society cut off from the rest of the world. He’d be reunited with everyone he cares about, including the father he once thought he might never see again, but he’d still have to live with the fact that the world he risked his life to save ultimately rejected him…and after all the atrocities his family committed just to get him back, the world is probably now convinced that its fears were justified. The damage is done, and irreversible…after all the effort he put in to become a hero, his short-lived dream is already dead and gone. I honestly don’t know what he would want to do with his life after that…
…Anyway, if you made it all the way here, thanks for reading~

I think Linuj'a problem is that he's borderline unable to make irredeemable characters even tho he WANTS people to percive them that way, we see a glimpse of it with Kizuna in the first game and it just gets amplified to a thousand in the second because of its themes.
Which reminds me how i don't like the ending of Sdra2 at all because it just confused me, it spent a bunch of time showing us that Sora is not the same person as Akane, she has he own thoughts, opinions and feelings and should be seen as separate from her, yet the game ends with Sora paying for Akane's crimes which just cements the idea that they ARE the same person.
If Sora is meant to be seen as a person of her own an not Akane virtual version then she SHOULDN'T have to play for what Akane's done.
Maybe i misunderstood because of how messy chapter 6 is, but it genuinely left a bad taste in my mouth and made my enjoyment of the game go down severely.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
//Now you're seeing my real problem with SDRA2's story. Namely that, while the Voids were a unique idea, they ultimately do more harm than add to it by leaving you both with more questions than answers and the idea that we're supposed to see them only as villains, despite that going against both the information presented and the basic messages DR is about.
//Like, it really confuses me when creators fixate so much on the darker elements of DR, because that's really not what the games have ever been about. It was never about the executions, the investigations or even the trials. It was about the people involved in them.
//If you're going to tell a story like this, where you repeatedly fixate on the blood and violence, and the only thing you have to say about it is "Isn't the one doing this a bad person?", I have to ask why you bothered with a very basic truism ^^;
//There's also this very damaging approach to media analysis where people decide, unless a character has literally done nothing wrong, any bad action they take equates to them being the "true villain." Even when the entire point of the story is that heroes and villains are titles, not an actual moral status.
//You can't claim to be having a deep and engaging moral analysis when all you do is decide that people who do anything bad are inherently horrible. Call them monsters if you must, but never act as though someone can be fundamentally incapable of doing wrong of any kind, because that's blatantly untrue.
//And with the DR2 example, the point of that one was NEVER "Look how horrible the Remnants of Despair are," it was ALWAYS "You guys used to be pretty fucked up, but you can still choose to be better, because that is always an option."
//LINUJ is just not very good at exploring the idea. He can make great characters, as he's shown over and over again, but he really doesn't know how to handle them in stories. Especially not when he's willing to make massive changes to that story that ultimately do more harm than good.

okay so i have a wild theory about what the final showdown in the animator vs animations series could be…..just as a forewarning i am writing this at a fever pitch at 3 am and i joined the fandom like 2 and some change days ago so, if anything is blatantly wrong i extend my deepest of apologies for not consuming the lore hard enough. anyway ONTO MY CRACKPOT THEORY. (under the cut)
I fully believe that Victim (and im 99.9999999Eipie% sure its him) wants the Chosen One captured in his facility for one of two possible reasons: 1) to persuade him (or coerce him) into helping Vic take down Alan (who still hasn’t reckoned with his earliest crimes against Vic) once and for all, or 2) skip the middle step altogether and just straight up steal the Chosen One’s powers for himself (and possibly his clone army.)
I am leaning toward believing the second, because we’ve already seen that TCO is willing to let bygones be bygones towards Alan. He helped ward off the ViraBot from Alan’s computer, fought TDL with Alan and the others without protest, and didn’t attempt to initiate a fight with Alan’s cursor after everything was said and done. He didn’t even care about Alan when he went to recruit TSC’s help in part VI, so I highly doubt that Vic would be able to turn him against Alan with pure rhetoric or appeal to emotions.
You see, I think Vic is building something in his facility. We can see all his worker bees milling around clearly doing something of importance, what that is exactly, we dont know. And we likely wont know until one or two episodes down the line. But, I will hazard a guess and say that he is building something to extract TCO’s powers. What would be the best way to exact righteous vengeance on Alan and his cohorts? That’s right, by turning The Chosen One’s all powerful abilities against the person who wished life upon him. If he bestowed TCO’s powers unto his hoard of loyal minions? EVEN BETTER. whats worse then a single pissed off Chosen One? A Thousand. Alan couldnt beat 2 of them, so suffice to say, if Vic is planning something even remotely like what i’m suggesting; we should all be supremely terrified of the next arc.
if i realize anything else or forgot to add evidence to this theory then i will add it to the tags, so keep watch on those !! knowing my dumb ass i deffo forgot some key shit for this bad boy
edit: gonna add another thought here. i dont think Vic will want to target the outside Internet like The Dark Lord, because he simply isn’t interested in it. The internet didn’t cause him any harm or emotional damage, but ALAN did. He wants revenge on ALAN, so he may use and abuse the internet as he sees fit to gain whatever edge he can, but his ultimate goal isn’t to invade the internet or destroy it or whatever like TDL, no, his vendetta is more personal, more targeted, more conniving. Also, out of universe, we’ve been seeing more and more of the Stick world, like their cities and grasslands, so I’m gonna assume that Vic’s conflict with Alan and TCO+TSC will continue in that setting. IDK, im rambling at this point XD
edit 2 electric boogaloo: ALSO THE CELL VIC PUTS THE CHOSEN ONE IN IS A BLANK WHITE VOID, LIKE THE WHITE PAGE OF AN ANIMATION SOFTWARE ‼️ dude i am so convinced Vic wants to manipulate him somehow or steal his powers like fr you can’t convince me otherwise atp save for some VERY compelling evidence to the contrary

Turn of the Tide, Call of the Sea (3/?)
Tumblr media
Description: Jacaerys shares his findings with Alyra, and a chance storm blows Helaena's ship right into their path.
Series masterlist
Jacaerys burst into the Great Cabin, clothes askew, hair mussed from sleep. “I’ve found her.”
Alyra glanced up from the worn map of the narrow sea. “Her who?”
“My flower.” He sat across from her, a bright smile on his face.
Alyra rolled up the map and slid it back into its protective casing. “The woman from your dreams?”
“Yes, Helaena Hightower.”
“Hightower, as in Otto Hightower?” She fidgeted with the signet ring around her neck.
“Hightower, as in, you stole her brother’s signet ring.”
“And this is the woman you’re destined to be with? Should I tell the crew to turn the ship around?”
He shook his head. “No, we must make this shipment, mother will be upset we didn’t receive the textiles from the Tyrell’s. We can’t go home empty-handed.”
Alyra nodded but made a sound of disbelief.
“What?” he asked, narrowing his eyes at her.
She shrugged. “I just find it hard to believe that after twenty-one years of dreaming of your flower, you’re willing to wait.”
Jacaerys rapped his knuckles on the table. “We caused quite the stir in Oldtown, I don’t want to cause Helaena any trouble by returning so quickly. It would make it more difficult for us to meet.”
“That’s surprisingly wise.” She said, giving him an impressed look.
“I’m always wise.” He protested.
“And Luc is never seasick.” She shot back.
He chuckled. “You’ve made a fair point.”
Alyra dropped the signet ring, letting it slide down the chain and settle between her breasts. “Did Helaena say anything about her brother?”
Jacaerys shifted in his seat, a devious smile on his face. “She said he intends to marry you.”
Alyra blinked at him, baffled.
“Or well, at some point he was intending to, but she isn’t sure what he intends to do now that he knows you’re a pirate.”
“Ah, well, such is life.”
Jacaerys raised an eyebrow. “You do not wish to marry him? He stands to inherit much; their eldest brother is two drinks away from being disinherited.”
She pursed her lips, then released them with a soft pop. “I don’t know if I’d enjoy the civilian life, it’s been so long, and I can’t see the crownsguard pardoning me for my crimes.” She looked out the rear windows for a moment. “Besides, I still have my mother to find.”
He nodded. “Well, there’s a chance we shall meet him again, do be prepared.”
“I always am.” She reassured him, and headed out to the deck, resting her arms on the bow.
Alyra stared down into the water, admiring the way the keel cut through the waves. She, like any other sailor, was no stranger to the call of the void. The urge to fling yourself from great heights and into the unknown depths.
She felt that tug and tightened her grip on the railing, willing herself to breathe. Then she pushed away from the railing and headed back towards the center of the ship, glancing up to see Lucerys climbing down from the Crow’s Nest.
“Alyra, can you settle my stomach?” He asked, looking positively green as his feet hit the sturdy wood of the deck.
“Of course, give me your hand.” She flipped one palm up, and he laid his atop hers. She concentrated for a moment pushing the healing energy into Lucerys focusing on removing the unease he felt.
He removed his hand a second later. “Thank you, the sea is rougher than normal today. I have a bad feeling.”
“Do you think we’ll run into a storm?” She hated storms, the call was always harder to resist.
“Not yet, it may still be forming.”
She breathed a quiet sigh of relief. “That is good, then, perhaps we will reach our destination before it arrives.”
“We’re only half a week or so out, I believe the storm still needs time.” He moved back to the ladder. “I’ll keep watch for it, though.”
She left him to return to his station and ventured up to the helm where Jacaerys was leaning against the wheel checking his compass. “Luc believes a storm is beginning to form.”
“Luc says that every time he gets seasick, I wouldn’t worry.”
She’d mentioned the strength of the call to him once before, in passing. He had looked at her for a long moment, then told her to come to him if she felt the pull too strongly.
“Once we pick up the shipment, we’re heading to Dragonstone, correct?” She asked, leaning forward to check the compass as well.
“Correct, mother is particularly interested in these Eastern gems, she wants to have them inspected.”
“Well, then we better make haste, I would hate to keep her waiting.”
The shipment went well, no complications, no Hightowers, and no crownsguard sniffing at their ship. Soon they were on their way to Dragonstone.
Helaena hated boats, hated the sea, and hated her grandfather for selling her like a broodmare. She clung to the side of the ship, heaving her lunch into the churning waves below. She’d already been on this godsforsaken boat for over a week now, and still couldn’t find her sea legs.
Seagulls flew overhead, and she focused on their graceful soaring, closing her eyes as she tried to settle her stomach.
The ship doctor had advised her that closing her eyes would only make the seasickness worse, but the only time the rocking of the ship didn’t send her towards the railing was when she slept.
When she slept, she could rest in Jacaerys’ arms, and lament her voyage. He’d been furious when she told him of her grandfather’s plan, and soon promised her he would retrieve her, come seven hells or high water. She believed him, but as the days passed, she found herself growing more and more worried. Often times she would cry in Jacaerys’ arms as they got further and further away from her home.
She took a deep breath in, tasting the salt on her tongue. It was something she’d noticed after she’d first been smacked in the face by a rogue wave, seawater, and tears tasted so very similar.
A small smile tugged at her lips when she saw a pod of dolphins emerges from the waves, jumping up and calling to each other as they frolicked.
Suddenly, the sky began to darken, and rain began to fall. She left the deck and made her way down to the mess hall. “Is there a storm coming?” She asked the nearest sailor, who nodded.
“Looks like it’s coming from the East, shouldn’t be too bad. Don’t worry, Miss Helaena.” The old sailor patted her arm and went back to eating.
She made her way to the doctor’s quarters, a storm meant more rocking, which meant more vomiting.
She knocked on the doctor’s door and entered when he called out.
“Lady Hightower, how may I assist you?” The doctor was sent personally by Tobias to assist her on her journey, and it reassured her that she’d have at least one friendly face in her new home. That is, if Jacaerys never came to rescue her.
“They say there’s a storm coming, I’d like something to help with the seasickness.”
He nodded and rummaged through his shelves until he found the little blue pills, he’d been giving her almost daily. “Take one every hour.”
Helaena took the glass bottle and tucked it into the pocket she’d had sewn into all her dresses. “Thank you, Doctor.”
He smiled, and she left, heading up to the deck, she loved storms when she was on land, something about the raw power of the elements on display took her breath away every time.
She stayed beneath the overhanging, watching as the rain collected into puddles on the deck. Lightning flashed across the sky, the roll of thunder following soon after. A dark shadow appeared on the horizon, and she made her way up to the First Mate who was leaning against the helm, his eyes scanning the skyline.
“Excuse me, Mr. Elliot, is that an island way out there?” She shouted over the increasing rain, pointing in the direction of the shadow.
Elliot took out his spyglass and extended it, peering in the direction she pointed. He lowered the spyglass and called out to the crew below. “Pirates!”
Helaena froze, rain soaking her to the bone. “Pirates?”
Was Jacaerys finally here?

Forgotten Ones Lore
Codex pdf download: DAO DA2 DAI DAV
Dalish myths
fen'harel, the dread wolf - during the endless civil wars in Elvhenan, a group of 'evanuris' called the Forgotten Ones included Geldauran, Daern'thal, and Anaris. They were the gods of terror, malice, spite, and pestilence. Fen'harel was considered one of their own because of his "cunning ways." The Forgotten Ones trusted that Fen'harel could arrange the defeat of the Evanuris proper. He asked the Forgotten Ones to "return to the abyss", and then betrayed them.
arlathan, part two - Fen'harel bade the "lords of evil" to exile themselves to the abyss, so neither Evanuris nor Forgotten One would ever again enter the others' lands. The Forgotten Ones were sealed in "the abyss."
the abyss (or, the Void) - nebulous and unclear. This was the home of the Forgotten Ones, the gods of disease, terror, spite, and malevolence. It was dangerous to the Evanuris, and corrupted Andruil (the corruption was the Blight). Possibly related to "the earth's sorrow" when the sun burned the creations of the earth to ashes and Elgar'nan temporarily buried the sun in the abyss. [Note: this is all very likely related to the Titans.]
veneration - priests of the Forgotten Ones were persecuted during the time of the elven Dales, yet secret worship of them endures in hidden, dark cults. Prayers are usually related to revenge.
World tales
the enigma of kirkwall - explorations into Kirkwall's Tevene history by the 'Band of Three', a group of Seekers. They touch on whether the Forgotten Ones were real and connected to the Forbidden Ones (spoiler alert, they're not the same). The ancient magisters seemed to have been trying to summon one of the demons like the Forbidden Ones.
Ancient legends
elven god andruil - (found in the Arbor Wilds). Andruil, having grown tired of hunting "mortal men and beasts", began stalking the Forgotten Ones, "wicked things that thrive in the abyss." Every time Andruil entered the Void (so presumably after they were "sealed" by Fen'harel(?)), she suffered longer and longer periods of madness from the blight.
fen'harel and the tree - (cw: sexual assault). Andruil captured Fen'harel. As she made camp that night, "the dark god Anaris" found them and swore he'd kill Fen'harel for crimes against the Forgotten Ones. Andruil and Anaris agreed to duel for the right to claim the Dread Wolf. Fen'harel aided Anaris in the fight, calling out a weak point in Andruil's armor. Anaris felled Andruil, but Fen'harel told Anaris that he owed him freedom for giving Anaris victory. Anaris was "so affronted by Fen'harel's audacity that he turned and shouted insults at the prisoner." He got an arrow in the back for it, and both Andruil and Anaris slumbered to heal their wounds.
tales of the forgotten ones - in this ancient propaganda, Anaris is styled as the Light of Elvhenan, Champion of the People, Noblest of Nobles. Despite being "changed/moved", his army still "carried the blood of his people." Anaris rode forth to war upon Elvhenan in "his fight for freedom."
Primary sources (letters, dialogue, etc.)
[mostly about Anaris, with one codex entry by Geldauran and another by one who renounced Daern'thal.
on divine imperatives (found in the lighthouse) - an agent of Fen'harel - Shirahn, One Who Renounced Daern'thal, muses on the wills of the evanuris seeping into their creations, including those of the agents' "Wolf-Lord." Elgar'nan's favorite torture device, the Helm of the Solar, was destroyed, but fire begets fire. The agent remarks that "the light of divinity is uncontainable", a questions "Even as he [Fen'harel] saves us, what does he impart upon us?"
geldauran's claim (found in the Frostback Basin)- there are no gods, and those with will to earn dominance over others gain title by deed, not nature. Geldauran refuses to bow to Andruil, June, or the other Evanuris luring the faithful with promises. Geldauran will claim power of their own, apart from the Evanuris until they "strike in mastery."
the nadas dirthalen - built by Anaris, speaks in Anaris propaganda.
re: Anaris, "as "one of the greatest of Elvhenan, a steward of her glory." re: Fen'harel, an ideologue and a fool who will soon pay the price. When Anaris dispatches the Evanuris, he will spare a thought for Fen'harel. re: the Evanuris, a group of cowards, hiding behind their more 'powerful' magic and 'superior' numbers. Their jealousy of Anaris was palpable, their war is unending. But Anaris will prevail.
mystery substance - this is a series of four scrolls found in Arlathan, written by Anaris
mystery substance - Anaris' disciple Atrahel found a vial of a bloodline liquid that glows yellow and is always ice cold, and nullifies (literally, "devours") all but the most powerful magic. Anaris, in hiding, wants to learn to nullify magic the same way to strike down the Evanuris and "claim what is rightfully mine." notes on a mystery substance - Anaris tested the substance of his "dull" disciple, Atrahel. Despite its nullification properties, Atrahel got renewed vim and vigor from it. further notes - Atrahel's strength did not diminish, but he changed. Sharper, but speaks less, and when he does speak Anaris hears "the voice of another presence joined with us." Atrahel's strength surpasses even Anaris'. final notes - Atrahel consumed the rest of the substance and his form changed - "it rippled, and grew, and shone with an unnatural light." Atrahel was more powerful beyond anything Anaris had seen, decimated everyone (not even dust remained) but Anaris, who shielded himself. Anaris got the hell out of dodge since the other Evanuris would likely catch wind of that power.
the ritual - Anaris wants a physical body to bring him "succor from the storm" and allow him to escape "the Eye."
the fragment of Mythal: the Evanuris were flawed, but they were better than the others who threatened the People; selfish fools like Anaris. Anaris is a monster.
solas: the spirits sang Bellara's praises for her defeat of Anaris.
Modern studies (Veilguard analysis)
a letter from strife - Dalish clans only know the Fen'harel betrayal story or the stories of the Forgotten Ones' wars with the Evanuris. There's little else Strife can gather, other than that Anaris is powerful.
bellara dialogue - the Dalish were told that the Forgotten Ones were the "bad" gods and they couldn't speak their names. The legends used to say Solas was a Forgotten One.
cyrian's farewell note - in ancient times, Anaris turned the elven people into demon soldiers for his army. In the Dragon Age, he was just a spirit who needed a living elf to complete the ritual to get him a body.

I'm copy pasting some tags I just left on someone else's post cos I don't want them lost to the void cos I've been thinking about this forever without making a post.
Jodie is such a tragic character & I have SO many feelings about him. Don't get me wrong I love Glenn so much, but his story tends to over shadow what happened to Jodie, and what happened to Jodie is so sad and such a great foil¹ to Glenn.
Picture this: you are a demon. You have a mother you love. You're doing your thing, when someone traps you in a guitar strips you of your home and family.
Eventually the vessel you're trapped in ends up in the hands of the government. They wipe you of your memories‚ send you back in time to another world‚ to punish a man you have nothing to do with. Used as a tool for the state against your will.
You find a wife & have kid‚ and even thou it was predetermined‚ it's real to you and you love them both deeply.
One day you, 4 other guys & your kids get zapped into another world. There is tension between you and the other dads plus that weird uncle‚ but you're willing to call them your friends because what you've been thru together.
Then after staying back to protect both their kids and your own‚ they show up again with no memory of what you've been thru together, to every horrible thing you've been thru together. They have no recollection, claim your kid isn't yours, and on top of that don't trust you at all. You have to deal with the fact that the life you've led for like the last 35 - 40 years wasn't your own but it felt like it. That you have a mother you dont remember. That your friends dont remember you. That your son cant remember who HE is.
You keep having ur life taken from you over and over and over again. For the crime of what? existing? It's not fair.
¹idk if I'm using the term narrative foil correctly here

Settlement: Lydestrum, City of Glass and Mist
Attracting artisans, merchants, and those who wish to go unseen among its splendours, Lydestrum is a centre for trade across the astral sea, a glimmering jewel of a port city set in the centre of an ever swirling cloudbank.
Surging aetheric currents surround the planetoid Lydestrum is built into, not only making unauthorized approach to the city nearly impossible, but also contributing to one of its greatest industries: capturing the magical potential carried along with those currents and storing them in great batteries that can be used to power jammerships, artifice, or great acts of spellcraft.
Adventure Hooks:
Though far less rowdy than many other astral ports, the Lydestrum harbour district is a paradise for adventurers, able to pick up rumours, goods from exotic reaches of wildspace, and potential employment across any number of vessels (of varying repute). If nothing else, the party can always pick up some extra work rooting out void beats and wild elementals that are attracted to the aetheric currents that surround the settlement, and frequently make their nests in the great tunnels that run beneath the city and its outreaching rockmass.
Lydestrum is a beautiful city, founded by architects who now use the great wealth brought in by its harbours and aether trade to build marvels across the plannetoid and in pockets of calm scattered throughout the churning clouds. One of the greatest of these marvels, the Mirador, was lost when an attack against the city centuries ago destabilized the winds and sucked the spirelike structure out into the ever shifting winds, never to be seen again. Driven by a desire to recover lost history and believing the structure has merely been trapped in the currents, not destroyed, an up and coming vedalken architect wants to hires the party to help him find this needle in the cloudstack, needing their help in exploring the dangerous reaches of the city and just maybe breaking into a few off-limits meteorological archives to get him the data he needs?
While many wonders might attract the party while out browsing the city’s aether-lit bazaar, what might most draw their eye is the Beacon Brightsmithy, a shop peddling a series of weapons and other devices seemingly made of solidified light. Operated by the Turevas, a father daughter pair of gnomes, the Beacon is a wonder hidden among wonders, Supplying many of the city’s military officers and warships with lightwrought weapons and willing to do the same for the party. On a subsequent visit however, the party find the shop in disarray, the younger Turevas distraught at her father's apparent disappearance and possible kidnapping... more on that mystery below the cut.
Background: The city of glass and mist pays no allegiance to any world-spanning empire, having instead been founded (as an art project of all things) by a group of Vedalken known as the “Faceters”.  This conclave of architects and cloudwatchers eventually evolved into the Lydestrum’s governing body, who see the city’s operation as secondary to its continued development as a thing of art. Proud to the point of jealousy over the “greatness” of their home, the Faceters are welcoming to traders of every stripe but all but shun any diplomatic or political oveture made their way, feeling that outsiders should be content to gauk at the marvels the conclave has produced and then get back to their lives of uncultivated ignorance  once they’ve passed beyond the cloud bank.
Further adventures:
Though the intial evidence around the Turevas smithy might point the party in the the direction of thinking he was kidnapped by some of the sketchier traders down by harborside, a closer inspection will reveal that though the workshop was tossed, none of the lightwrought weapons were taken along with their maker, meaning that the gnomish smith was likely not greed that motivated this crime. Witnesses will likewise report a group of rough looking characters in the area making their way to and from the harbour, but that they were all speaking the local dialect of vedalken without accent.
Investigations into the upper reaches of Lydestrum are likely to be hindered by the fact that that the party are largely regarded as ignorant tourists, their questions answered with slow explanations of the building’s history or directions back to the foreigner's quarter. They will have one ally though, Garahame, a conclave military officer and longtime friend of Turevas who’s just as concerned by the gnome’s disappearance as they are.
The internal politics of the Faceter conclave are broken up into numerous “sets”, non-exclusive factions and cliques that all have distinct opinions on how they want the city to be run. Garahame belongs to the “Tower” set, a largely isolationist faction that just so happened to be working with Turevas to create a building sized light cannon to act as a deterrent against any fleet or polis that would attempt to overtake Lydestrum like the attack that cost them the Mirador. These plans were discovered by the “Gate” set, a commerce based faction that oversee the city’s diplomacy and markets, who were pretty staunch in their belief that Lydestrum building a big gun and pointing it at all their neighbors wouldn’t be a good step for peace, and so abducted Turevas with the use of illusion and have spent the intervening time trying to show him the error in his ways. Whatever set the players end up siding with will have knock on repercussions on Turevas and throughout the city, potentially spelling prosperity for one and crisis for another.

Spoilers for the whole DRK questline under the cut, if that matters to anyone.
Shayun's broad strokes have mostly remained the same but the details have shifted drastically over time; sometime during late 2.0/2.x I decided that he and his partner had raised children together in Coerthas, and designed the five of them (since previously he had been childless), which required that I justify why he left Ishgard after the Calamity, and thus his partner's death went from "vaguely caused by the Calamity" to specifically "ignored injuries taken while keeping as many of their neighbors alive as possible after everything froze over in an instant, leading to his death from infection". I also at some point (I do not clearly recall when) decided that he had been involved in one of the earliest strikes against Skatay by the Garlean Empire, ending in a series of events that left him one of two survivors of an attack on a bunch of trainee Woodwarders (which thinking about it definitely underscores how bad the post-Titan massacre and the Banquet were for him—a repetition of old failure, even if he wasn't close to most of the Scions), which contributed to why he was willing to leave his post in the first place. I also tweaked why he can no longer use a lance IC—initially it was vague damage and atrophy from getting sick/nearly starving after his partner died, it's now an old gladiatorial injury that didn't heal right. Oh, and I realized that I accidentally gave him autism without thinking about it so I just solidified that as part of him. I also at some point shifted from "it is ambiguous if his Esteem is a distinct person or psychosis" to "his Esteem is a full alter as long as he has the DRK stone near him, also he has bonus psychosis symptoms from how he wounded his soul making Fraj and Myste don't worry about itTM :)".
Peach was meant to be more cheerful/flat as a character, but as I fleshed out his backstory and personality there's been a recurring theme of extreme isolation and loneliness despite being surrounded by people, and how he attempts to hide that he feels that way and fill that emotional void. He wasn't meant to have Zenos as a mirror, AND YET—!
Baavgai was initially an exile, but I decided it would be much more fun if the only reason he left the Steppe is because he and Daidukul just cannot fucking stand each other for incredibly petty teenager reasons that never got revisited as they aged. So he still has contact with his dads, and the big barrier to him openly courting Esugen is just an extension of the Oronir being dicks about Esugen not perfectly conforming to their concept of masculinity rather than Baavgai needing to die for Crimes. (He's still a wanted man, just not in his homeland.)
Baatu (non-WoL) was initially just nonbinary, but i decided that as a child they viewed themself as a trans girl rather than just more vaguely transfeminine and only started thinking outside the binary when they were like 15-16. Also, I at some point decided that their birth family were a Dalamiq offshoot that tried to enter Coerthas early, which went about as well as you'd expect if you know the Ishgardian Xaela LoreTM. (They are unaware of this, since an important part of their character is that they feel the loss of that culture strongly even as they dearly love the family that raised them after the massacre and the only way they'd find out is if they managed to go to the Steppe themself and someone recognized that they strongly resemble their mother—Shayun would be happy to help with that, but both he and Baatu would have to be made aware that it was an option, it's not something they'd put together themselves.) Also, I did not initially plan to ship them with any NPC but then I doodled a joke about them being Reille's new mom and, uh, congrats Shayun on Sidurgu being your son-in-law I guess.
Oh yeah before I forget, Yuris (non-WoL) used to be just an Elezen before I decided his mom was a Hyur. Doesn't change much for him, just is a fact.
FFXIV Daily Question n°81 : Is there anything in your character's lore you decided to change from the moment you created them and today ? Do not hesitate to tell us about it, no matter how hug the changes if any.

Rick Sanchez & The Stages of Grooming (intro)
Hi hello. Yes, you read that title right. This is the first part of a series of posts about how Rick’s behavior towards Morty matches the well-documented stages of grooming that child predators are known to follow. A lot of this is evident even from the pilot episode but is admittedly not the whole picture of the character as we have come to know him over the course of the show.
I know Rick is the fandom’s poor little meow meow so a lot of people are going to be uncomfortable with me making these comparisons. I understand that I am speaking about a sensitive subject that many may prefer not to think about. But even so, I felt the need to write a gross dissection of the character and I’m willing to back up my slander with direct evidence from the show. The instances I point out will be scenes with general overtones of this specific form of abuse, whether that be through clear allusions in the dialogue or through the greater context of Rick and Morty’s relationship.
I’d also like to get it out of the way first that Rick is not canonically preying on Morty for sexual reasons. I am not suggesting that. However, I have reason to believe that the show has made jokes that purposefully allude to sexual abuse for shock value and I find those instances significant enough to mention.
Now let’s start with a clear definition...
-
Grooming: a form of abuse that involves manipulating someone until they’re isolated, dependent, and more vulnerable to exploitation (x)
Grooming is not just about sexual activity. It can take many forms including to commit criminal acts, carry drugs or become involved in radicalisation. It is a carefully planned process with the aim of controlling a young person, to ensure that they do exactly what the perpetrator wants. Initially, a young person may receive gifts and be showered with attention and affection, but this may later turn to blackmail, threats of violence or actual violence. (x)
Tumblr media
We already know that Rick has plenty to gain from securing complete control over Morty. There is, of course, the cloaking brainwaves reason that he provides in Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind. Then there are the practical uses that come from Rick having access to an impressionable youth who he can convince to do things like smuggle contraband through interdimensional customs for him by way of terribly invasive methods. Morty is quite literally Rick’s partner in crime, though notably against his will at the beginning (“I mean, you know, I-I don’t wanna shoot nobody!”) until constant exposure to such “adventures” leads him to become accustomed to the role. This is part of Rick’s grooming process.
But on top of that, and perhaps most crucially, their partnership has the added benefit of filling the void of Rick’s crippling loneliness. This is where the classic icky, too-close-for-comfort side of grooming shows its face. Because at a certain point it becomes clear that Rick is conditioning Morty to fulfill his emotional needs and dedicate himself entirely to Rick’s benefit, regardless of what Morty actually wants. Suddenly it’s not just about crime and material goals. Suddenly it’s personal. Because Rick wants Morty to stay by his side forever and he will do whatever it takes to keep Morty from leaving him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Without even getting into specifics on the individual stages of grooming, Rick’s tendency to utilize manipulation tactics coupled with his desire to monopolize his grandson’s life is the ultimate red flag.
And all of this gets a whole lot more predatory when you count the Ricks of the Citadel, who systematically bred Mortys and raised them to be subservient to Ricks and forgiving of the abuse they endure. It goes to show that not just one or two Ricks do this. The season 5 finale revealed a whole mass grooming operation carried out by Ricks (a “Morty Market” in the episode’s own words), though it’s clear they were not always successful at making Mortys into their ideal partners. The main antagonist of the Citadel arc, Evil Morty, is the most prominent example of that failure.
You may sense where I’m going with this. Considering the recurring themes of abuse in the show, I don’t think the Citadel’s narrative similarities to the real life horrors of child trafficking was an accident. A large part of the shock of that reveal is the blatant commodification of a minor by an old man, and the revulsion that such a scenario inspires in the viewer is meant to make Evil Morty’s motives for violence more understandable.
Maybe I’m the weirdo for taking an irreverent animated comedy so seriously. But if we want to analyze the overarching plot of the series, this subtext is an observable element that deserves to be acknowledged. And by god am I going to acknowledge it.

What would you say are the biggest mistakes Mass Effect 3 made?
Okay this is going to be a long one, but these would be the biggest mistakes ME3 ever made in my opinion
Choosing Cerberus over The Reapers. The thing that annoyed me most about ME3 is the fact that Harbinger is not the main threat. The Illusive Man is. Harbinger has been built up as the big bad since ME2. "YOU HAVE FAILED. WE WILL FIND ANOTHER WAY." He says as he discards the Collectors. Then his speech to Shepard as the base blows up. "Human, you've changed nothing. Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater. That which you know as Reapers are your salvation through destruction. You will surrender your potential against the growing void. We return, and you will rise. We are the harbinger of your perfection. We will bring your species into harmony with our own. Your species will be raised to a new existence. We are the beginning, you will be the end. Prepare for our domination. Prepare for our coming." Then in Arrival, he came pretty damn close to unleashing quick subjugation and harvest upon an unprepared galaxy. Upon Shepard foiling his plans. "Shepard. You have become an annoyance. You fight against inevitability. Dust struggling against cosmic winds. This seems a victory to you. A star system sacrificed. But even now, your greatest civilizations are doomed to fall. Your leaders will beg to serve us. Know this as you die in vain: Your time will come. Your species will fall. Prepare yourselves for the Arrival." The perfect final villain right? Unfortunately, Cerberus was more focused on than The Reapers. My problem with Cerberus and no Harbinger is Too many Cerberus, too few Reaper forces in plot. We fight Cerberus more often than the reapers. Hardly any boss fight and the one with Reaper Destroyer on Rannoch was more an interactive movie than fight. During the Horizon mission in Mass Effect 2, Harbinger was solidified as the Big Bad. It was menacing and ominous, with just the right amount of annoying. It taunted us throughout the game, telling us how insignificant we were, and how our actions were pointless. It was willing to posses drones through the Collector General to fight us personally, and when we killed the host, it tossed them aside. Harbinger even gave the typical “You haven’t seen the last of me!” villain rant. It made any fire fight frustrating, and that made me want to kill it even more; I hated Harbinger. Many games fail to do that. Harbinger was an enemy which I looked forward to defeating. I had the desire to annihilate. In Mass Effect 3, I got a codex entry and a cameo. Harbinger just swoops in at the last second and blows my friends and I to hell(and lets the Normandy save them), then flies off. Personally, I would have loved to hear Harbinger’s menacing monologue, it drove me on. I would have felt a deeper motivation to take the fight back to Earth if it told me how much destruction the Reapers were causing, how many lives were lost. I felt cheated when I got to the final mission, only to suddenly realize it was largely absent from the game. Harbinger has been replaced. Replaced by the Illusive Man and Kai Leng. The former is an old acquaintance, albeit one now controlled by the Reapers. The latter is a space ninja from a terrible book. What would've been amazing is if Harbinger IS the Catalyst. Harbinger taunts and haunts Shepard throughout the game He uses the memory of that child to haunt Shepard as a symbol of humanity lost. After Shepard activates the Crucible. Harbinger appears. He explains to why and how The Reapers were made. the AI Leviathan created to solve the equation is Harbinger all along, Harbinger manipulated The Leviathan into giving it Reaper form and birth at first it did what it commanded and what they asked of it was to look at the dark energy building up which back then was only an anomaly that Leviathan was concerned with but then the first harvest began and Harbinger and The Reapers were born. Funny enough, Leviathan reminds me so much of FMA:Brotherhood. The Intelligence tricked Leviathan to create the Reaper is very similar to how the Dwarf in the flask became Father. So what I think should have happened is it would've been revealed that Harbinger is the AI that convinced the Leviathan that harvest was the only way to survive and justifies the harvests not because organics and synthetics can't coexist, but because of the dark matter crisis. Throughout the game we would have more confrontations with Harbinger. Have him "ASSUME CONTROL" during fights. Give us a voiced confrontation between Shepard and Harbinger. Make it clear that Harbinger chose The Illusive Man and convinced him of together they could uplift and empower humanity over the lesser races. The Illusive Man is to Harbinger, as what Saren was for Soverign. Then the Crucible will grant us the choice to Destroy or Control The Reapers or Harvest this cycle to survive the Dark Matter crisis. You could either. Destroy Harbinger and The Reapers, while the united races would discover a way to stop the dark matter problem. Give in to Harbinger to harvest humanity to save the galaxy. Control The Reapers to stop the harvesting and to work together to stop the dark matter crisis.
Choosing to have a smaller crew than ME2 and focusing solely on the ME1 characters and screwing over or ignoring the ME2 crew, especially romancing Jack, Miranda and Thane. If it were up to me, this is what my ideal ME3 line up would be Ashley/Kaidan EDI Garrus Liara Tali Javik Jack Miranda Thane(EA forgot about him and simply chose to kill him off, I think Thane could’ve rejoined the crew and even had a mission where we find a cure for Thane and Kolyat) Grunt Mordin(you'll see how later) Legion(You'll see later) Balak or any Batarian Squadmember. Ideally it would be someone who survived the Bahak system or even a Batarian freedom fighter who puts his people’s survival over the pride and prejudices of the Hegemony. His sole goal is to liberate Khar'shan and save his people. But for a more memorable person, Balak would be the squad member. I would make killing Balak not an option. The last high ranking officer in the Hegemony. Instead of causing deaths on the Citadel, he seeks Shepard out. It’s an enemy of my enemy is my friend. Over time, Balak would show remorse for his past actions as a terrorist and for the Hegemony’s past. Shepard and Balak learns to overcome their differences and see each other as friend and works together to destroy the Reapers. We would get a Priority Khar’shan where we could liberate the planet and the Batarians would be in a fighting force.
Keeping James alive. I like James, but he added absolutely nothing to the game. We already had an Alliance character. Ashley Williams/Kaidan Alenko. James should have been the Jenkins/Wilson of the game. He should have died in the crash to take out Eva and Ashley/Kaidan should have been with us from beginning to end. James is a character we barely know. We’ve waited a long ass time to see Ashley/Kaidan and it was downright disappointing that neither Ashley nor Kaidan did not get to interact with Garrus on Priority Palaven and Wrex during Priority S’Urkesh.
Mirandafying Ashley Williams. Mirandafying Ashley Williams for Mass Effect 3 was shallow and unnecessary. Wearing loose and long hair and skimpy clothing? Ashley Williams is a by the books soldier. She would not look like this. She would not grow her hair or let it down like this. I mean, it’s not that they changed her face so much, but they just tried too hard with the makeup, hair and outfit. Ashley didn’t need to be model-sexy and run around in heels and showing cleavage. She was already sexy as hell in her own way. All they needed to do was give her the Alliance Crewmen outfit as her casual look and the Phoenix Armor and the current Alliance type armor she was given in ME3, as well as a unique Spectre armor. It's not just the shallow Mirandafying. It's the fact that Ashley has little to no interactions. Ashley barely has any interactions in the game. Compared to Kaidan, Ashley is not interactable. I don't like that Ashley barely has any interactions and just feels...hollow. Ashley should have crew moments with Joker, Adams, Ashley at the monument mourning those who died with the original Normandy, Liara, Tali and Garrus. Was it so much to ask for simple interactions? And really, Ashley in the first game had a personality, Ashley in ME3 feels hollow.
Choosing Diana Allers over Emily Wong and Khalisah al-Jilani. Emily and Khalisah are two reporters we actually know and respect. They earned their place on the Normandy. Emily reported on crime and traffic controllers. Khalisah gave us hard hitting questions and actually cared about reporting on what the fuck was going on in the galaxy. They earned their place on the Normandy as far as I'm concerned. Compare that to Diana Allers. What has Diana Allers done to deserve a spot on the Normandy? Nothing. They created the Battlespace to make her seem like a hip and cool Alliance News Correspondent. Allers looked, weird and she just comes off as annoying and she's a waste of space on the Normandy when we could've had a whole new or returning squad member. God, I WISH Javik could throw her out the fucking airlock. You had TWO perfectly great reporter characters and you did jackshit for any of them. Just so you could have an excuse to hire Jessica Chobot.
Not letting us see Tali's face on Rannoch. Legendary Edition fixed the mistake by finally showing us Tali's face, but it's still exclusive to Shali romancers. What should have happened was we see Tali's face when she unmasks on Rannoch. If we don't romance her, she unmasks and gives us a smile. If we romance her we see her face and kiss her. Something simple like that. It would've been great to see
Not having the ME2 squad members join in on the Citadel DLC. I mean for fuck's sake, it's like they want us to know "fuck you, ME1 squadmembers only" Again, why? Why wasn’t Jack, Miranda, Grunt, Samara, Jacob, Zaeed and Kasumi not added? If we romanced Jack or Miranda, why didn't they come to save us when we were being hunted? Why not REALLY making it feel like Team Hammerhead by actually adding the ME2 Squad members to the Citadel DLC before the party? There was no reason why you couldn't include the ME2 squad members in the Citadel DLC
Making Cerberus the villains instead of uneasy allies, when The Batarians were the perfect allies for The Reapers. This might just be me but I think Cerberus should have been on our side in ME3 and The Batarians should have been fighting for The Reapers. Makes sense Cerberus has just been a rouge organization doing what the job no matter what the cost(even if the cost is atrocities) and instead of indoctrinating themselves they could of studied it to make themselves immune to indoctrination and The Illusive Man's goal was to use any means necessary in order to destroy The Reapers. I also like the idea that you know you can't trust him, but he does get results. The Council and The Alliance are desperate, so they accept a partnership with Cerberus. The Batarians have always held a grudge against The Alliance, The Council and would have wanted revenge for Bahak/ Viper Nebula. The fact that there are no consequences for what we had to do in Arrival from The Batarians just doesn't make any sense and you'd think this would give The Batarians the motive to turn to The Reapers. Hell in the Terra Nova DLC in Mass Effect 1 it seemed to me that Balak was already indoctrinated and Balak’s revelation of the “Batarian rebellion” makes it seem like they would be the perfect tools for The Reapers. Balak will be the new Saren figure. If you killed Balak, then The Reapers would just bring him back. The first act of war for the Batarians was the destruction of the Viper Nebula, so their retaliation was killing Udina. Prior to the Reaper invasion of Earth, Udina would go to Omega to make peace talks with Aria. The Batarians attack and gain control of Omega, Aria is ousted(but saved by General Petrovsky) and Udina is executed live for the galaxy to see. Because of Udina's execution and Anderson leading the resistance on Earth. The Illusive Man is now the Human Councilor. Miranda and Kai Leng would be squad members. Depending on if you gave TIM the Collector Base or destroyed it, he will either keep you in the dark or help you at every turn. Just think of the Cerberus War Assets Cerberus Scientists General Oleg Petrovsky Collector Base Cerberus Fighters Cerberus Phantoms Cerberus Engineers Project Phoenix We would get a big mission to deal with the Batarians, Priority:Khar'shan. If you do not deal with the Batarians, there will be major casualties. However half of the Batarian forces are not indoctrinated and just want to end the mistakes of their government and live. Balak wants to kill the rebellion of his people. Ironic. Somehow Balak has placed enough bombs on the planet to destroy everyone who is resisting Reaper indoctrination. We can either. Talk Balak out of it. Telling him to resist and fight for your people(which WOULD gain Balak as an ally) or talk Balak into killing himself. Or the true Renegade option is to kill Balak and order a strike that wipes out the Batarian forces, but sacrificing the Batarian Rebellion. By the time we get to Priority Earth everyone is on the same page and united against the true threat, The Reapers. And it is Harbinger who is the final boss
Not having Maelon be there with Mordin in ME3. This isn't really a problem, but I had a thought. If we spared Maelon and kept Maelon's data for the cure. Maelon should have been on board to help Mordin with the cure. If we warn Mordin and Maelon about the sabotage, then Maelon would choose to sacrifice himself to save Mordin. And after that, Mordin would choose to join Shepard's crew.
Legion's "death" is pointless. He....is software. He could easily copy and paste The Reaper code without sacrificing himself in the same manner when he was broadcasting the Reaper signal to all Geth. Or he could've disseminated himself after he made a copy and transfer that copy over to his platform. I just get the feeling that they didn't want to keep Mordin, Thane or Legion alive....for reasons.
