I want to go to a gay bar
However I do not want to go to a gay bar because I do not, nor will I ever, drink alcohol. I do not particularly want to be around drunks.
So instead of a gay bar, I propose a Queer Cat Cafe.
Hypoallergenic cats ofc
There's a section of the cafe where the cats can't go if you don't want cats near you. That section is the library.
There are lil pride flags everywhere, even the obscure ones.
They sell pride pins for £1.50ish each at the counter.
There are LED lights.
It's autism friendly, lights can be toned down if needed and everything is neatly spaced out
You can have a sticker to write your pronouns on
Mostly queer artists/songs played
feel free to add on

i feel like many people use "straight"...wrong
it's used a lot to mean cis, het, allo, perisex, etc.
basically just not lgbtq+ at all
but that's not true
trans people can be straight and lgbtq+
intersex people can be straight and lgbtq+
neopronoun users can be straight and lgbtq+
arospec people can be straight and lgbtq+
acespec people can be straight and lgbtq+
polyamorous people can be straight and lgbtq+
genderfluid, bigender, and other gender non-conforming people can be straight and lgbtq+
people who are biromantic, panromantic, etc. and heterosexual or vice versa are still lgbtq+
and there are so many more identities that can absolutely be both
straight does not mean not lgbtq+

HEY! HEY YOU
if you like using microlabels and feel like they fit you better so that's what you use, YOU ARE VALID!
if you don't like using microlabels and prefer the general labels because that what you feel like fits you better, YOU ARE VALID!
remember, its YOUR box and YOU are the only one who gets to choose how you identify and what labels you use!

Being biromantic is feeling disconnected to both of your communities, because so much asexual content revolves around aromanticism and so much bi content revolves around sex.

The universe: Which gender will you have, male or female?
Me: Yes.
The universe: Uh. Okay. Then who will you like romantically?
Me: Yes.
The universe: Um. Then what about your sexuality–
Me: No.
The universe:

I came across so much nasty acephobia today that it seriously upset me, so I sat down and drew Francis being supported by his allo spouse to make myself feel better.
Happy pride, fellow aces 🖤🩶🤍💜
(Some more versions cause I actually couldn’t decide which one I like most.)

Canon ace characters 🤝 canon bi characters
Getting erased and if we complain about it we're the ones having "headcanons" and stirring trouble because theirs is clearly the superior interpretation -.-

happy pride to every asexual spectrum person! i know it hasn't been easy to be able to talk about asexual pride in the past, for quite a while, online spaces like tumblr and twitter took to being actively hostile toward asexual spectrum folk. it's time to stop allowing and encouraging this behavior- having no sexual attraction, a complex relationship with sexual attraction, and/or no desire to have sexual relationships is queer in a society that expects its people to have them
i hope you are able to feel welcome and seen this pride- whether you are straight, cis, trans, bi, gay, a lesbian, pansexual, intersex, or whatever else you may be, every asexual spectrum person deserves to celebrate themselves this month. you have a unique queer experience that deserves to be seen and heard as much as any other. you are appreciated, take care of yourselves, and each other

We don't talk about platonic marriages enough
I am bisexual. My partner is aroace. We are in a queerplatonic relationship. We have been together for around 4 years and got engaged a little over 2 years ago. We don't do romantic things (we do sometimes, but not usually.) and we don't do sexual things. There's no romance, but we love each other. It is 100% platonic.
But I ALWAYS feel the need to clarify this with people we meet that, it's not "oh haha we were best friends for so long we just decided to get married teehee"
NO
It's still love. We live for each other. We would die for each other. We are attached at the hip. We are each others most important thing in the entire world. Just because we don't kiss or have sex doesn't mean it's not love.
I LOVE my fiance in ways words can't explain. And they love me just the same.
Just because it's not romantic doesn't make it any less of a relationship.
Just because it's not sexual doesn't make us any less engaged.
I am going to marry my fiance, my best friend, the love of my life, and I need people to know that it's not because we couldn't find anyone else. It's not because we said we would if we were still single at X years old. It's not a trend or a phase or anything like that.
I'm going to marry them because I LOVE them.
@novelcain <3
(update since this is gaining traction again: we're married now!! :D)
