I have always liked rigorous historical novels, with real characters, where events are told more or less as they…

Hello lathalea. It’s another week of sending out some interesting ASKs to my mutuals. 🥰 Have you read any must-read classics? If you did, which was your favourite and why? If you haven’t, what is your favourite book and why?
Hello and thank you so much for your ask 💙
I just loooove books so my answer is: probably 😂 I’m not sure if you meant “classics” in a specific genre/language/culture/period and so on, but I try to read interesting books that are considered classic in many categories. It’s like eating different kinds of candy - if you’re bored with toffee, you can go for marshmallows and then how about a popsicle? 🤭
What’s my favorite book? I don’t have one. Or rather, I have many of them and for different reasons - if you’re interested in a specific topic or genre, let me know and I’d love to share some titles with you because tumblr is not ready for the whole list (me neither, I’d probably forget to mention most of them) 😂
Instead, how about I share some of the books I’ve been reading (and re-reading) recently that are considered classic in some circles? And how about titles not written by English/American writers?
📖 Magellan by Stephan Zweig
📖 They Were Counted by Miklos Banffy
📖 Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam
📖 Captain Alatriste by Arturo Perez-Reverte
📖 The Witcher: Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski
📖 The Radetzky March by Joseph Roth
How about you? Are there any “classic” books that you like the most?

what should i read next dot com suggested, obviously, Calvino and Borges, as well as Arturo Perez-Reverte. I will take these and all of your suggestions under advisement, but likely begin with The Corner That Held Them because I already have a copy in the house lol
