The scene where Viktor makes Jayce promise to destroy the hexcore is truly one of the most sickening scenes I've ever seen it has me beyond conflicted.

On one hand, the logical hand, Viktor is well within his right to ask that of Jayce. It's Viktor's life and if he doesn't want anything to do with the hexcore, even in the event that it could be the only thing saving him from death, that's a request he has the right to make. He was valid for reacting poorly when he realized that Jayce had broken his promise completely.

But the other hand, the human hand, tells me that Viktor's ask was an impossible one, especially for Jayce. Viktor knows how much Jayce cares for Viktor. He knows how much he wants to save him, how much he enjoys his company, how devastated he would be from his death. He knows that asking Jayce to potentially let Viktor die if that situation should arise is something he really shouldn't be asking from Jayce. He also knows that Jayce is never going to disagree with him or deny him something like this. It makes my skin crawl because to me it's akin to making Jayce promise something he doesn't want to promise, making him promise something that's not really attainable or realistic. I'm not surprised in the slightest that Jayce didn't keep his promise and I don't blame him at all. Maybe I'm a bit too sympathetic but to me it's such an impossible ask to ask of Jayce. This shit makes me want to throw up because I feel like they're both correct and incorrect at the same time.

#prev you are so wise #they are human the both of them #and i think Viktor didn't truly realised what asking jayce to destroy it actually meant #i think he was clouded by grief and guilt and he thought that the only person who could right his wrongs. the only person he trusted #was jayce #se he asked him to destroy it. made him promise to destroy it. but didn't think of what destroying it meant for jayce #for Viktor in that very moment was some sort of way to redeem himself. he had accepted it. he did not like what had come from his life #he did not like not having a legacy he did not WANT to die but. the pain. the guilt. it made him..... like i think numb? or #like it kind of kept him from seeing the bigger picture #but to JAYCE?? destroying the hexcore was destroying viktors last chance at living it was killing the person who had saved him #it meant to kill his partner. to lose someone so important to him #it put him in a position where he could not simply deny viktors request but who could blame him? from keeping his promise #who can blame a man for following his heart i guess
