My name is Szkicel and this is where I talk about my upcoming webcomic about bugs!

I will be talking about lore, the characters (spoiler free ofc), reblogging things that inspire me (insects, nature, art etc), and I will answer any questions you guys might have regarding the project :D

The plot

Sayta & Neska are two cockroach sisters working as bounty hunters to put some food on the table. Sometimes Neska’s best friend Artun also tags along to help them out. They all live in the remains of a human house, where a lot of other bugs built their towns and cities.

Everything seems fine, until a certain someone walks into their lives to change them forever…

Roden „Rivalle” - a mysterious person operating an RBD (Robotic Body for Disabled) from an unknown location. He’s a criminal but also takes bounties to earn some money - which is why he often gets in the way of sisters’ work.

Berin - Neska’s close friend and Rasha’s work partner. He’s a fellow bounty hunter with a cheerful personality. He loves exploring and history

Lucas - Artun’s childhood friend. They lost touch when Artun moved out of their hometown, but they reunited by accident in their adulthood. He’s a pretty shy firefly, but gains more confidence around Artun. Works as an assistant for one of the detectives at a police station.

Rasha - Sayta’s ex, who has a huge beef with her after their break up. She’s another bounty hunter, working with her best friend Berin. She’s pretty calm and reasonable, but kind of loses her patience around Sayta which leads to many arguments and fights. She likes writing poetry in secret.

Manisa’da “Bağımlılıktan Özgürlüğe” paneli düzenlendi

Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyesi, bağımlılıkla mücadelede farkındalık oluşturmak amacıyla “Bağımlılıktan Özgürlüğe” başlıklı panel düzenledi. Uzman isimlerin konuşmacı olarak katıldığı etkinlikte, bağımlılığın nedenleri, etkileri ve önleyici faktörler ele alındı. 

MANİSA (İGFA) – Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyesi tarafından, bağımlılıkla mücadeleye dikkat çekmek amacıyla Kültür Merkezi Lale Salonu’nda, “Bağımlılıktan Özgürlüğe” başlıklı panel gerçekleştirildi. Panelde, Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Dekanı Prof. Dr. Artuner Deveci ile Türk Psikologlar Derneği Manisa İl Temsilcisi Uzm. Psikolog Serkan Bozkurt konuşmacı olarak yer aldı. Panelin ilk bölümünde, Prof. Dr. Artuner Deveci, “Bağımlılık Nedir? Bağımlılıkta Temel Kavramlar” başlıklı sunumuyla bağımlılığın tanımı, türleri ve nedenleri hakkında bilgi verdi. Bağımlılığın sadece madde kullanımıyla sınırlı olmadığını, teknoloji, alışveriş ve kumar gibi farklı alanlarda da görülebileceğini belirten Prof. Dr. Deveci, bu tür bağımlılıkların birey ve toplum üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerine dikkat çekti. 

Panelin ikinci bölümünde ise Türk Psikologlar Derneği Manisa İl Temsilcisi Uzm. Psikolog Serkan Bozkurt, “Bağımlılıkları Anlamak ve Önleyici Faktörler” başlıklı sunumunu gerçekleştirdi. Bozkurt, bağımlılıkların psikolojik, sosyal ve çevresel etmenlerle yakından ilişkili olduğunu vurgulayarak, özellikle gençlerin bu tür sorunlarla karşılaşmasını önlemek için alınması gereken önlemler hakkında bilgiler paylaştı.

Etkinliğe, Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sosyal Hizmetler Dairesi Başkanı Volkan Sert, Sosyal Projeler ve Gençlik Spor Şube Müdürü Müjde Günderen, akademisyenler, çeşitli sivil toplum kuruluşlarının ve siyasi partilerin temsilcileri, öğrenciler ile vatandaşlar katıldı. Panel sonunda katılımcılar, uzmanlara merak ettikleri soruları yönelterek bağımlılıkla mücadele konusunda bilinçlenme fırsatı buldu. Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyesi yetkilileri, toplum sağlığını korumak amacıyla bu tür bilinçlendirme etkinliklerine devam edeceklerini belirtti.

A topographical view of Axiom, the main realm of Mage Hunters.

Axiom features diverse topography, influenced both by the original creation of the world through the whims of the Great Weavers, as well as several catastrophic events which reshaped parts of the land.

The far north is largely dominated by the Northern Wastes, a region with dramatic and sudden rises in height, resulting in stark mountains and dangerous cliffs. This region is believed to be uninhabited and is little-explored given the immense difficulty of survival here.

The northeast is much lower and flatter, featuring more steady drops in elevation as the land spreads outward to the sea. This area is buffeted by strong, cold winds for much of the year, making it a similarly inhospitable location, though the various feuding clans within Artun do call this place home, and carve out a living here.

In the east, the massive chains of islands are scattered through the Clearwater Bay. Believed to have once been only two large islands, they were torn apart and scattered during the March of Devastation as a display of Altraxior’s growing power. While the northern side of the Clearwater Bay also endures similar winds to the Northeast, further south the climate is much more mild, turning from rocky skerries to near-tropical islands with surprising suddenness. This area is mostly low lying and does not have many prominent mountains or elevated areas.

In the southeast, the Puzzlewood sits on the eastern edges of the Southern Highlands, a massive plateau that features many of Axiom’s largest mountains. The low lying areas of the Puzzlewood are humid and swamp-like, webbed throughout with the uncountable streams and rivers which weave through the trees, while the areas on higher elevation are dominated by the thick tropical rainforest from which it gained its name.

The south is almost entirely controlled by Lilineth, and the overwhelming majority of the population live along the wide river Amaru, the lifeline of the region, which otherwise receives little rain. Heading further west from the river leads to increasingly dry and hot conditions, with the scrubland of the west being largely empty of human life. Surrounding Lilineth from almost all directions, the skyline is dominated by the Kuru Mountain range, which cuts it off from the rest of the realm northward as well as from the Puzzlewood to the east, and the desert to the west. The glaciers which cap these dramatic peaks are the main source of the Amaru river.

The southwest is almost entirely desert. The uninhabited Ravenrock Desert, named after the black colour of the sand and the high prevalence of obsidian stones throughout, spreads an enormous distance from south to north, and marks the borders of both Lilineth in the south and Revelian in the north. While most of the desert is relatively flat and low, there is a mountainous area in the centre, as well as the enormous crater left by the Moonfall.

The central west area is also mostly low elevation and dry, cut off from the central regions by the edge of the Southern Highlands. As a result, this region is also largely scrubland and savannah, experiencing infrequent and low rainfall. Due to harsh, rocky and cliff-life shores, most of the people in Lantian inhabit the few mountainous areas on the edge of the Highlands rather than the dryer inland or coastal regions.

The northwest is separated from the central west by a long stretch of low-lying, dry savannah, but soon rises in elevation starkly once reaching the Northern Highlands. The average elevation in this area significantly impacts the climate and it is noticeably colder and wetter here than heading further south into Lantian. The northern mountain ranges mark the edge of Valsal’s territory, while the enormous scar of the Ghostfire Forest in the east blocks it from the rest of Axiom and marks its border to the east.

The central region is the most populated, featuring three of the largest and most stable empires in the realm: Highgate, Centrum and Revelian.

Highgate sits deep within the northern highlands, surrounded by mountains. The high elevation and northern location creates a cold climate year-round. This area is highly mountainous and rocky, making it very difficult to traverse without a guide.

Centrum sits upon a large plateau in the highlands. Though it is of unusually high elevation, with few mountains it features a reasonably dry climate and is mostly sweeping hills and grassland. This is both what allowed Centrum to quickly consolidate and hold such a large swathe of land, but it is also what drove the Centrum War of Conquest, where they attacked southern and eastern settlements to increase their holdings of more arable land, coastal access and navigable rivers.

Finally, Revelian sits mostly on the lower central plains, and has wide access to water, navigable rivers, and arable land, making it one of the most productive and industrious empires in Axiom. Their capitol was moved to the Southern Highlands however, lending it greater defensibility and making an invasion extremely difficult, after they lost territory during Centrum’s War of Conquest. Much of Revelian is hilly woodland, and even the interior highland is dominated by cloudforest. A very rapid drop in elevation in the west marks the immediate border to what eventually becomes the Ravenrock desert.
