Le projet d’exposition pour Salon du Salon propose de déployer en plusieurs espaces des oeuvres qui suggèrent et tentent de suspendre des états limites suggérant d’autres ordres de réalité où - le possible, le prêt à émerger - cohabite avec le disparaissant et le fugitif. Les oeuvres proposent de feuilleter l’espace et de déplier les dimensions. Elles font naître des espacements, comme autant de degrés d’existence : du minimum vers le rien ou du rien vers le ténu, l’existence des choses en creux, le négatif des choses, ou leur absence.

Demeure alors un écart, un déplacement, des coupures entre les objets, entre l’objet et son double, entre les énergies potentielles ou courants électriques qui les traversent.

L’exposition propose ainsi de déambuler à travers les objets et les espaces pour proposer une certaine altérité, de l’être qui se divise, et une méditation sur notre rapport au temps.

I’m in an Art Show!

I’m in an art show! So this has happened to me once before and it’s a humbling experience. The fact that anyone wants to see anything I create from photos to videos sometimes amazes me. I do love sharing it with all of you. So on the upcoming art show. It will be at Hello Stranger in Los Angeles, CA at the end of August. The show is curated by my friend Chris “The Betty Hunter” Garcia. There are so many unbelievable artists and photographers that I will be sharing the space with. If you are in the LA area the show is the last weekend in August with an artist reception on Friday, August 25th from 7pm to 1am. Come check it out.

Hello!!!! Do you mix your own paints and pigments? Also what brand/shop do you usually buy paints and/or pigments from? The way you talk about paints I kind of assumed you mix your own powder pigments with paint mediums, and I really want to try that one day

i put standard oil paint from tubes on my palette, take a bit to mix the color I want, then mix that with galkyd + gamsol to thin and make them dry faster. That way I can keep the unmixed paints on my palette for a few days without worrying about drying out. Usually I get them mixed to just around the consistency of a self-settling, smooth enamel-y liquid

Recently I've been using some little griffin alkyd tubes + a small inkpot full of gamsol for painting while I'm on the go, they're thicker and more textured than how I usually work, but still quick drying and pretty nice

Jerry's ArtORama usually has some good sales, but I'll take whatever is cheapest for decent pigment load. I can't really say I have any favored brand, as long as you're buying something artist quality / with a decent amount of pigment you'll probably be fine.

I personally wouldn't want powder pigments since there's a much greater chance of inhaling heavy metals + they're less convenient for working with, but they are super versatile

Potlatch à la Déviation, c’était le 1er septembre 2018 à l’Estaque, Marseille en parallèle au festival Art-O-Rama.

À l’origine, le ‘Potlatch’ est chez les indiens d’Amérique du Nord une cérémonie sacrée donnant lieu à une grande célébration, au cours de laquelle sont offerts des cadeaux de qualité au clan adverse ou au sein du même clan. 14H-16H : réception des dons L'espace s'anime et se transforme à mesure que les artistes amènent leurs productions personnalisées, matérielles et immatérielles, performatives ou terrestres. Nous célébrons le soir venu les surprises autour d’un grand banquet à prix libre. 16H - 20H : performances - banquet - vente des pièces L'Histoire raconte que les indiens, se fiant au caractère sacré du Potlatch, auraient perdus beaucoup de leur terres et de leur or en les échangeant aux nouveaux venus contre des babioles. Prenons une petite revanche, et utilisons l’outil Potlatch pour revenir à la liberté de la propriété.
