Considering that even after this episode there were people who weren't convinced that Crow can shapeshift, I'd say that they wanted to make it a bit more obvious for the ones in the back. Also, strong blows can make a persons aura "flicker" even if it is not exhausted, it's just that it's hard to see the difference between that and total aura drain sometimes, as the effects look pretty similar.
Yeah, I think that Qrow’s fight made it clearer what they were trying to do but showing aura _before_ the final blow is new so I was somewhat confused. Thanks!

Well if you had paid a bit more attention to the last scene with Sayaka and Madoka, you might understand better why Madoka made the wish she did. She believed in the wishes that all the other girls had made, even if some of them were misguided or naive, because they still fought, sacrificed and died for those wishes. By not wishing magical girls away completely, she honored their sacrifices and also ensured that their souls are not corrupted into violent monsters.
Just because I didn’t screen cap or comment on every moment doesn’t mean I didn’t see it. I paid attention to Madoka reassuring Sayaka that she believed in her and respected her wish. Believe me, I was invested in the last Sayaka scene while it was happening. It was a very beautiful moment, but I didn’t have much to add to it that I didn’t already say and wanted to keep moving.
I’m sorry if anything I said seemed as though I was making fun of Madoka’s wish. That wasn’t my intention. I hold by that it reduces their suffering, but they suffer greatly nonetheless in the new world she has created. I do kind of enjoy the idea that she didn’t want to see magic gone from the world, but the cost seems too great imo. (I actually rather enjoy this post’s take on the matter, generally speaking.)
But I will go back to what I’m fairly certain I said before: Madoka is practically still just a child. All things considered, that makes what she did truly heroic and beautiful, but it is the wish of a child. I think (hope) any adult would look at the tragedy laid out for these girls and admire their nobility to make the wishes they did but still feel the need to stop their suffering. And therein lies my critique. It’s tragic in large part because these problems—far too huge for a child to work out—are being dealt with by children.
It doesn’t make the ending bad, because again, the setup is that all of these decisions are in the hands of children. They’re doing the best that they can. But watching this as someone nearing her 30s, yeah, I might not be as thrilled. And that has to be okay. I don’t need to believe that Madoka made the best decision to result in an ending in which female children sacrifice their lives for others and endure horrific pain and brutalization in the process.It’s not her fault, but I can acknowledge the reality of that horror. If I had first watched the show at a younger age, it is very likely I would feel differently, but I didn’t. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think that’s pretty close to the voice I had in mind while writing it.
Thank you! Fixed! For someone who claims to pay attention to detail, I miss a lot, eh?
@artisv
You’re too kind! I’m glad someone likes my terrible jokes, though.
Yes! It was the perfect day for a Steven and Connie episode.
I’ve actually never...read? Homestuck. I have no idea what it’s about. I think I might have tried to give it a go one time years and years ago, but to be completely honest I’m not sure it was the same thing.
Hey - Connie is a pretty good character to draw similarities with! I can understand that, though - I get pretty passionate about certain stuff, too, and often times that’s all I care to talk about with people.
@storysongandstars
I did notice the proportions were a little iffy, especially in the beginning of the episode. Connie seemed to be as tall as Pearl.
Noted! That’s probably a lot easier to differentiate between that “Connie” and Connie.
I will be on the lookout for this from now on! That’s fantastic. I’ve always wanted to be a decent artist but I feel like it’s too late for me to learn? I wasn’t joking when I said Steven’s skills are probably well beyond my own...
But I love little stuff like this. I go on about how fleshed out this universe is, but this is what makes it so great! Just adds another dimension to the characters.

Most of us wouldn’t have seen it in this old jail. But McComb artist Calvin Phelps, who has traveled the globe and worked in art administration in Los Angeles, looked at the rundown old building and saw the beginnings of a permanent physical home for the Pike School of Art Mississippi.
“I don’t know how he ever saw the vision of it working in the jail, but he did and I can see it now, it’s fantastic. Now we’ll move forward with this and it’ll be a catalyst to greater things,” said Vickie Webb, a member of the McComb Creative Partnership Board.
Walking through the old jail in the late summer heat, the skeptic’s eye picks up cramped cells with decaying toilets and stained wooden bed shelves. Numbers and a yard stick still adorn the wall where they used to take mugshots.
But those kinds of throwbacks will soon be -- physically too -- a thing of the past.
With two floor plans side by side, Phelps can show you what’s in the building now and what it will be. It takes less of an artist’s eye to see it when it’s drawn out. But he sees it, and it’s very real.
“In this space we’ll have exhibition spaces, room for art work shops, a little museum space dedicated to McComb," Phelps says, pointing to his maps. "In the back we’ll have space for the artists to come for a month or two if they want.”
Leaning against the wall in the front room is a sign. “NO weapons, guns, ammunition. NO pocket knives, tobacco products, purses allowed in facility.”

Actually the Aura level measuring technology was already a thing in Volume 1, but they only showed it for a brief moment after Jaune's and Cardin's sparring mach, so it is understandable if you don't remember it.
I remembered! :D
I meant it was new in the sense that it wasn’t the same as the Dragon Ball tournaments.
Thanks!
