arakawa has said she actually based amestris on industrial England
Really? That’s surprising. I guess I got thrown off by the fuhrer thing and the whole 'the door leads to a parallel world that's Germany' situation, although I suppose she didn't have editorial control over that.
Industrial England also should not have Hot Topic fashion though.

@setmeatopthepyre reblogged your post and added:
This is a fantastic write-up. Following this reasoning, could it be that the second child created and then fled to Wendimoor? Or did Arnold injure and/or kill (or think he killed) the child? Could he have injured the child so much for them to slip into a coma, maybe? Moloch seems the right age. What changed to cause weird things happening again now?
@storysongandstars reblogged your post and added:
If the second child is Moloch, the change could have been the stroke he had when Blackwing moved him, or maybe just being back in Blackwing, or maybe nothing with the child has changed it’s just that the imminence of the Mage’s attack in Inglenook set things that effect the real world into motion.
I do think that the second child is Moloch, although for now can’t eliminate other possibilities (like Mona, for example - her clown form appeared in Amanda’s visions inside the house-within-the-house).
Arnold thought he, at the very least, incapacitated the other child severely enough to stop “the strange stuff” forever, which seems like a logical conclusion if the other child ended up comatose. Although he might’ve thought he killed the other child, while that child was actually taken by the government (since they were already suspicious of the place, they might’ve found the child).
But at the same time, I kinda suspect the other child might’ve been comatose, or at least bed-ridden, to begin with: like, their room, even in the house-within-the-house, is very empty compared to Arnold’s room, just bed and TV, and also the wall drawings of Wendimoor have a picture of a person sleeping which doesn’t seem to fit with anything we know of Wendimoor rn:
Tumblr media
(highlighted it a lot, it’s the best close-up I could get) It’s a bed, surrounded by “Z”s, so it seems like the person is sleeping. It could be the other child, who is always in bed “sleeping” (if Arnold made the drawings).
On the other hand, it could be Arnold himself as drawn by the other child, since the child used Arnold’s dreams as a base for his creations. But if it’s in Wendimoor, perhaps it was supposed to be the way for Arnold to go to Wendimoor? But, well, not enough info for now.
I also agree that ‘what’s changed’ must’ve been Moloch having a stroke (which, by the way, is interesting considering Arnold suffers a minor heart attack this episode - kinda karmic. Almost like Todd getting pararibulitis, and I thought Cardenas siblings would have parallels with Brotzmans).
It would fit with “a dream left untended becomes a nightmare” - Moloch’s condition made his control over the created reality waver, which allowed the portals to be created, including the one Mage uses for smuggling guns into Wendimoor. And by getting access to real world, Mage gained the upper hand in the battle he was supposed to always lose.
Also: while I’m not sure how well it fits, we know from s1 that souls are connected to electricity. Is it possible that the electric pulse in ‘67 was someone’s soul, or consciousness, being released from their body? But instead of dispersing, it might’ve gone, say, to a magic reality of it’s own creation...

Hey my dude do you know where I can watch season two of Wynona Earp?
As of right now, I think it’s only available in full for purchase. I want to say I got it for about $20 or so on Amazon? I’m assuming iTunes is about the same. I think I saw that it’s going to be on Netflix in April 2018. Best of luck!

The fic is a modern au where Ling is a college student that ends up renting a house possessed by a demon (Greed) and he's just so Done that instead of leaving he decides to write up a roommate agreement. Things happen and in the sequel there's a roadtrip and that's where the gashapon comes in.
omfg that’s amazing
also very in-character college student vibes to just deal with a demonic presence rather than go hunting for another apartment again

storysongandstars replied to your post: I can’t believe the villain of TAZ Commitment was...
OH that guy. You should have just said “Emperor Norton”
No that would ruin the joke if I just say Emperor Norton
It’s funnier for people to look it up and go “what the fuck a dude declared himself emperor of the US?”

Sorry for still being trash and I know you already identify yourself with a certain classpect but you're the most Homestuck person I know and I gotta know what your True Sign is. (Also your tags were also my reaction)
If you don’t mind I’m gonna answer this publicly because I anticipate getting this question again and I don’t want to type it all out multiple times.
You’re really testing me here because I intended to righteously ignore Hussie’s latest nonsense but ok, I’ll take it.
It gave me Librius the seamstress which isn’t gonna work right off the bat. I picked Libra because I’m a Libra, but I’m not social or charming and I hate public events. Networking is my worst enemy. I’m not a people person, even if I am in a people field. I’m about as flirtatious as a brick and specifically made myself unlikable/distant for portions of my middle school/high school career because of aro panic-related fear of anyone developing any sort of interest in me. Even if I hadn’t, I’m not exactly appealing. Rigid morality and being better off single are the only things that fit here, but the second is only because I’m aro as hell, not because I have bad taste. But that was given to me by my date of birth, not the test itself, so let’s soldier on.
It pegged me as Derse which I’d agree with, but I’m skeptical about the descriptions, because the Prospit one claims Prospit heroes are bad at hiding their true selves, and I can trot out Jade Harley to disprove that. It also says Prospit heroes focus on the present which??? Karkat arguing with his selves? Terezi in general?? Space heroes and the clouds??? Whatever. I’d say I’m Derse because I’m fairly upfront about my emotional issues (Derse kids claim to hide but are fairly transparent, while Prospit kids act upfront but actually hide a lot more) and I tend to be anti-establishment in my heart, at least, even if as I discuss later I will keep my mouth shut if it benefits me more. Also I don’t make my bed.
Finally it gave me Hope which… lmao. Yeah I’m a black and white thinker and I have ideals, but I’m also relentlessly practical and act accordingly. Not saying I’ll compromise my morals, but I gave up my dream of being a writer because I wanted a stable job, I’ll support my student bargaining unit but haven’t joined out of fear for my position, and I tend to feel hopeless about the future and my ability to fix it. Positive and caring are not the words people would use to describe me. Plus, Hope is associated with sexuality, particularly male sexuality, and I am Not About That, even if I DO hc Jake as nb and aro-spec.
I gave myself Life and stand by that. I bake. I’m in a public service profession. I’m particular about finances. My interest in archives has to do with legacy and personal stories/histories. I can be prideful - not self-obsessed like Meenah but convinced I know the best way to do something so everyone should listen, more like Feferi’s reformist issues. This is demonstrated with me disagreeing with the literal author about concepts he himself invented, because he’s wrong. My worst flaw is nagging people toward actions I think are “best” for them out of misplaced concern. This is also a Heart thing - Dirk tries to remake people - but I’m not trying to make them more like me, as much as I’m trying to convince them to do things I think would help them, forcing them along personal development before their time. Like Jane, I try to suppress this if I feel it’s wearing on people, with mixed success. Life can grow over everything else like an invasive species, choking stuff to death even as it claims progress. I’m not proud of it.
Light comes as a strong second for me. My favored medium is verbal/literary. I’m curious, organized, and driven to learn. I challenge preconceived notions and the status quo while disliking ignorance. But I don’t Live For The Drama and I don’t think hubris is my fatal flaw. Sometimes I bite off more than I can chew, but then I chew it.
I also am very bad at personality quizzes in general. For management class I took a ‘what management style are you’ quiz and got diplomat when I’m definitely a pragmatist. That demonstrates I tend to come across as a better person on quizzes than I am in real life, and I think this happened again here. But at the end of the day, horoscopes are fake, this is an algorithm, I initially picked Life because I liked the color scheme, and if Andrew Hussie wants to come fight me over any of those things I welcome the challenge.

So last night I was thinking about the Rowdy 3 and how they tend to behave a lot like a pack of wolves and in several ways they're symbolically associated with wolves and dogs (their theme music even features barking) and how that's weird because they're technically vampires which are usually considered to be the polar opposite of werewolves and therefore wolfishness in general and so that got me thinking about how werewolves and other wolfish groups are usually portrayed in fiction [1/3]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh my goodness @storysongandstars this is a beautiful thought and you are a beautiful person for thinking of this. You are so very right and the whole wolf/dog thing has been gnawing (hah) at me for a while. Thank you so much for sharing this idea because especially in light of the scene that was just posted (after I got this ask) you are so right about their entire dynamic.
Long story short, I love this and I love you and I love this show.
