#em.txt #idk i wouldn't come for the person who posted that bc I have definitely used like memes or summat in my art without credit #in this instance i could tell it was a fan render though & i wanted to see it so now you can too!#notably it seems like the artist edited out Bonnie which makes sense. my guy is huge & goofy & the letsplayer is covering most of him #woulda looked slightly odd otherwise #shout out to the renderer for making the dumb af cobwebs that make no sense in fnaf 1 #it's odd seeing it without the distortion & in the bigger aspect ratio #tbf fan renders can get really accurate to the ogs to the point official fnaf content has used fan renders multiple times #the person doing one drawing a day & just googling fnaf 1 office & taking the first clean render probably just thought it was the office #maybe from the vr game or something

Wow, the prison post responses made me think how fitting that she is signed under Universal. A word that describes her music. She's made choices that many would doubt. Stand against Apple & Spotify- two of the major streaming services as music transitioned to digital? Bypass studios to release a film & angering AMPTP, big businesses & many in the industry- just as she's trying to enter that world as a director? Many accuse her for greed & question her character/integrity. I'm rooting for her.

oh, i love that symbolism of "universal"! those responses really spoke to me, i'm glad they resonated for you too. she's always been remarkaby easy to root for (for those of us who've followed closely and seen her immense sensitivity, kindness, willingness to grow and improve, resilience, generous spirit, humor, that all goes hand-in-hand with her extraordinary talent).

taylor wouldn't be who she is, even talent-wise, were it not for her character, and i have no reason to doubt the countless people (in the industry and outside it) who've commented on that positively. her ambition and drive to succeed has taken her far, but it's her ability to tap into humanism and heart through her music that's connected her to such a wide, disparate, and lasting audience, and that new yorker piece really underscored the transcendence of that. (struggling for those three weeks earlier this summer came from a place of real care and concern, as i think was true for most fans, because we DO know and trust her integrity. and ultimately it was a reminder that people are flawed and can be petty and rash and make poor decisions, especially in times of heartbreak and upheaval, but we can be mindful of that and give them space for recovery and to return to themselves with clarity). she's worked hard, and she's been savvy, but she's also been unflinchingly emotional and genuine and herself.

i want to still have a thin skin, a sharp pen, and an open heart. i just think that you are what you love. and that inspires and stays with us. golden light and invisible strings. 💞

#also the greed accusations are silly when literally every big artist sells variants of their records or special editions etc #idk why she's the only one who gets flak for that.#especially when everything she sells is catered directly to fans' desires. it's always centered on her music and getting it to us #nobody has to buy multiple vinyls? or merch (which is handled by umg)#/ramble #anonymous #letterbox #thrown out speeches #anyway the thing is every time i've worried about her she's come back stronger and brighter and restored that light #and that bond with her music is never broken in my soul #you know?

dipping my toe into fandom discourse here, which is never a great idea, but—i really am baffled by the contingent of fans who apparently want AO3 to not only denounce but ban AI-generated works, as if there were any reliable way to distinguish between mediocre writing produced by a human and mediocre writing produced by an AI…?

#i saw someone say elsewhere‚ and agree‚ that all a ban would accomplish wld be to discourage fans who make use of AI from indicating as much #i do personally think the best writing won't be by AIs #or at least‚ it'll have been edited with a fine-toothed comb by a human who's got a really good sense of style and story themself #such that they could've produced the writing unaided‚ and the AI armature is just a crutch #but imo the big issues with AI are like. (1) the dataset it gets trained on—#though like. human artists *also* view other people's art and incorporate it into their body of influences‚ tbh?#we just get mad when they copy someone else's work TOO directly. but it's in their heads informing the art they produce!—#and (2) its potential to put humans out of work—which i have *huge* sympathy for‚ but also… that's been true of every machine ever invented #(also like. fandom is a gift economy‚ not paid work‚ so that aspect of things literally doesn't apply in an AO3 context.)#but like people have brought up the luddites in connection with this and. yeah.#ultimately there's always still a place for human operators and human oversight and human curation of the machines' raw output #and so ultimately i think we'll just have to work out what that place will be in this context #and in the meantime—i'd hope people would disclose when work has been created using AI #which they absolutely *won't* do if sites are out there banning it! people who want to use it will still use it‚ and just lie!#like you can say 'but then you don't get the satisfaction of knowing you're being praised for work *you* did‚ bc the AI did it!'#'surely that sense of being an impostor will discourage people!'#but like. hello. i've seen (and reported) multiple *very clear* instances of fic plagiarism.#the fact that those 'authors' were getting praised for‚ not only work they didn't do‚ but *someone else's* work‚ did not deter them!#saw someone going 'AO3 has its particular set of organizing principles & that's valid! we should just make our own sites where we ban AI!'#and like. hello: if your mini-archive gets popular enough that ppl want to be part of it‚ posters who use AI *will* just lie to you???#(i'm curious abt the overlap between that camp and users who think DNIs are effective‚ lol.)#anyway.#Fannish Ethical Concerns
