Louis Tomlinson’s performance at Festningen was nothing short of a testament to the deep devotion of his fans and the profound connection he and they share. Fans traveled from all over the world just to witness his set at the Norwegian festival and began queuing outside the festival grounds at dawn, even prompting security to implement an entirely new queuing system just to accommodate the growing crowd of patient fans. This dedication is a reflection of the unique relationship Tomlinson shares with his fanbase — one that has remains strong since his One Direction days. For them, this was no ordinary festival appearance, but an opportunity to witness the artistry of someone they’ve supported for years.

Tomlinson took the stage relatively early in the day, at 5:30 PM after Ramón’s fiery performance, but the crowd was already large and continuously increasing. He kept his performance grounded in his signature, laid-back style, walking casually on stage for his entrance and keeping interactions with the crowd intimate and personal, even with thousands watching. While some artists may seize a festival setting to put on an elaborate, attention-grabbing show, Louis delivered something far more intimate and sincere. Performing tracks from his solo discography, telling stories of personal relationships and his deep connection with his fans, Louis showcased his rock-infused pop sound, which may surprise those only familiar with his One Direction work. Even when he played some of the band’s classics, they felt re-energized within his solo show, offering a fresh take on familiar favorites. okay guys idk how big the joshua bassett fandom is here but THE GOLDEN YEARS?? idk i'm just so blown away by this song for no reason at all. like its a perfect memento in my life of being happy where i am and not wanting to let go of everything i have currently and moving on and wanting to go back and an aversion to change and idk-

in my mind this is also a ricky bowen song. even though gina and ricky are soulmates, i will stand by this till the day i die, nini and ricky need to be friends. they need to be on good terms. and this song kind of reminds me of the way nini and ricky broke up, kind of "right person wrong time" whereas as ricky and gina are "right person right time." and none of this probably makes sense but the feelings I feel when josh sings "I woulda held you longer that night when you kissed me goodbye through your tears" 😭

this is a summertime song. this song will be blasting in my car all the time. this song is upbeat but it is sad. it makes me want to smile but it also makes me want to cry. and I feel like, at his core and at his heart, that's the type of singer josh is. he will tear your heart apart with his beautiful lyricism and sad slow melodies but he will also make you want to scream your heart out and shout for joy with his energetic beats and fun, snappy rhythm.

in short, I am in love with this song. I am in love with the figurative language and the callbacks and the references. I am in love with Josh's voice and Josh's vision.

and also, HE'S RELEASING HIS FIRST ALBUM? how have we never gotten a josh album before?? No. She’s not the next Avril Lavigne, she’s not the next Taylor Swift, she’s the first Olivia Rodrigo. She’s her own person, with her own identity and her own career. Stop trying to attach her career to everyone else’s. Let young artists be themselves. I love her new album, and I enjoy the pop punk vibes of her songs, and she should honestly consider going full alt-fem with her music.

And, also, can y’all please stop constantly trying to bully this girl? Like, please. Y’all picking apart every single thing she does and says for the sake of finding something to cause drama with. Like that whole “the ‘every guy I like is gay’ line is a diss towards Joshua Bassett” thing, no.
