Gate Room | January 2022

If I've uploaded this before it isn't tagged in a way I can find it, hah. So! Have an old rough drawing of one of the Spire's gate rooms.

Ever since Phosa and Linast tried to literally tear the Spire apart when they showed up, unauthorized arrivals get shunted to gate rooms and held there by forcefield until released. It doesn’t catch all malicious actors, but it does at least keep random confused arrivals from causing too much damage until someone can come and orient them.

Seil and Lein wanted to try playing separately. Whether that is going well is questionable.

I thought Lein and Linast might enjoy talking with one another about their respective artistic efforts. And Phosa's just hanging around listening to an audiobook and watching them work, heh.

HHHHHHHHHH SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG I got into a depressive funk and today my son took like a four hour nap so I was able to finally finish this aaaaa I hope you like him ☺️ i am excited about the app I got to animate stuff and thought it’d be cool to do a glow effect or something from his core?? Kinda looks light a heartbeat which is neat!

There are actually quite a few reasons why Linast's clothing rarely lasts long, but getting sharp when agitated is certainly one of them.

Gave clip studio paint a try with Phosa's drawing! It's the first time in many years that I've used my old intuos tablet... between the two (re-)learning curves it was a bit of a struggle. :'D

Linast designs clothing for himself and Phosa at times! It tends to be a bit unusual, but he has fun with it.

The first outfit is designed for Phosa, while the second is for Linast.

(Disclaimer: Results won’t firmly decide what I draw first, or if I draw anything at all. But they’re likely to give me some extra excitement if I know folk are interested in any given idea in particular! :P)

VII. The Chariot — Describe one of your muses coping mechanisms.

Linast: His stimming and violent outbursts would be too obvious of an answer, so -- his art! One of his few positive and well-adapted coping mechanisms, hah. He finds it relaxing in and of itself, and he'll also often process specific events and concepts through it.

Phosa: Like Linast, there's the obvious maladaptive answers of dissociation and denial, but as an alternative... physical activity! Both in terms of what comes most naturally to her -- practicing radiating in different spectrums, moving heavy objects, practicing forming shapes -- as well as mimicking corporeal movements, such as learning swordplay or restricting herself to actually navigating an obstacle course.

Diamond: Meditation, playing music, and journaling, for positive coping mechanisms! Overworking and focusing on other folk's problems (which at least keeps him from ruminating) otherwise. He's managed to stay pretty much sober at the Spire, but drugs and alcohol are common in other incarnations.

Clemcy: Stereotypical soft self care stuff tbh; naps, meditation, indulgent bathing practices, spending time outside. More maladaptive ones are fucking with people, violence and mind control purely for the satisfaction of it, and self harm.
