Okay I don't usually get serious on this page but like... this Lavendertowne "situation" is kind of ridiculous. I didn't watch the video she posted when it came out, but I have seen the designs, and they're honestly completely fine for someone who hasn't watched the show (which I'm pretty sure she hasn't). Are they as good as some other designs she's done? No, but that doesn't change the fact that she's an excellent artist, and HUMAN. People can have a bad art day, and frankly, I don't even she dropped the ball that badly on this, but the amount of backlash and just generally horrible comments I've seen about this is genuinely sickening. No, her skills are not declining. No, this isn't the downfall of Lavendertowne, you are all just desperate for controversy. Stop being dramatic and leave the poor woman alone. And to Lavendertowne if you ever see this (which I doubt but y'know), you are absolutely wonderful, you inspired me to start drawing in the first place back in 2017, and many others too. Keep doing what you do, and I'm sorry so many people on the internet suck xx

AI Generated Art

Okay, firstly, thank y'all for the sudden burst of followers. No clue when it happened but yay!

Secondly, I want to just quickly talk about AI generated art. If a lot of people see this it will probably cause a bit of controversy but I would like to talk about it anyway.

Soooo, if you haven't been living under a rock (if u have, its okay, me too) then you've probably heard of AI generated content. Now, I don't have a massive problem with it, so long as it is done correctly. And unfortunately, AI generated visual art...is just not. At least not yet.

The issue I, and many visual artists, have with it, is the fact that to train the AI's, programs need hundreds of human-made artworks - which artists have spent hours creating with their own hard-learnt skills - to generate their content. And often, these beautiful artworks are taken without the consent of the creator.

Now, AI generated music is similar, but unlike visual art AI's, they actually have the common courtesy to reach out to creators and ask their consent before using their creations. So why isn't it the same for the visual art industry?

We understand that AI's are becoming part of our future - and many of us are willing to accept that. But we are sick of having our creations stolen and replicated by AI's, and of being silenced by the community when we speak out about it.

I am a very very small artist. I barely have any of my digital paintings online, and I do not consider myself to be very skilled. But it has taken me years to get to where I am, and it will take even more years for me to learn the skills to paint amazing art. And I hate seeing and hearing about people with much more skill than me being abused by this system.

I've been with wolfstar for over 10 years. People used to predominantly draw that kind of Sirius for nearly a decade. It's only been in the last few years I've seen genderfluid/femme/enby/transpectrum Sirius. It's not only gender affirming, but also a nice balance to old representation. I appreciate every artist that has broken the mold of asshole buff bad boy Sirius that doesn't give a fuck about his friends feelings and treats his Twink Remus like shit. Let artists create *their* vision. Stop acting like an entitled consumer.

This was a super controversial series of comics when I posted them on Reddit a year ago. So much so that Zombie Comic Aura talks about it in a video covering T&E sins.

I still don't regret it, because it sets up a little more complexity to Tiff and Eve's relationship. I would have made a few changes if I had thought ahead a little more, but I mention that in Aura's the video.

Whenever another Labru shipper can only conceive of their relationship as Laios driving Kabru crazy and Kabru constantly wanting to strangle Laios but also wanting to fuck him I'm like. That's nice. I like to imagine them being mutually attracted to each other and also enjoying one another's company the way they do in the manga.
