First time I've seen official concept art of him with tanned/darker skin! Perhaps a nod to his Romani roots? Not sure. In the story he's not nearly as tan though-- someone else did the coloring.

Severe cope is reading jlu #5, seeing Mark write Bart like he did in the 90s and running down the rabbit hole on possibilities because, he too, said fuck it, everything that happened after impulse #89 is all I know. I’m thinking about Max, Helen and even Carol getting mentioned in a passing dialogue box. I’m thinking the og Young Justice gets mentioned like “hey you remember when we were a team? Yeah apparently Wally doesn’t.”

And then i remember that this isn’t an impulse issue, this is Justice league unlimited and Bart didn’t even make it in the group art they made for it

Dan Mora style study

I really struggle drawing Superman/Clark Kent so I thought I’d look at how my favourite artists draw him. This is Dan Mora’s Clark as he appears in Batman/Superman: World’s Finest (2022). I tried two different colouring versions though! The first is the iconic Tamra Bonvillain’s World’s Finest style, and the second is Alejandro Sánchez’s watercolouresque style that accompanies Dan Mora in Shazam! (2023).

Sneakily, the eyes were so horrifyingly difficult to draw accurately. It’s a style almost similar to ones I’m comfortable with but very difficult to get right. I love Tamra Bonvillain’s colour palette—definitely an aspect I’m interested in incorporating in my own art.
