A/N this is getting old but im sorry for being late and im sorry this is probably not what you were expecting, it’s not good at all 😭 and again like I mentioned before I kind of new I was straying away from Arriety on my previous attempt but I got to into it to back up so hopefully this makes up for it

“This should be enough,” they sighed, taking one last piece of food and placing it on their satchel, ready to head back to the hideout

“At first, I thought I was simply misplacing things,” a deep voice rumbled behind them

“But it seems we have a thief aboard.”

“I'm not a thief.”

He hums, taking a seat on a stool nearby as he took the small being in

“What would you call taking from our supplies?”

“Borrowing”

“Seems we have different views as to what qualifies as borrowing.”

“What are you going to do with me?”

“I will leave it up to Shanks,” he said, putting a jar next to them

“You can’t be serious,” They exclaimed, taking a glance at the jar with a scowl and looking back at the man

“Quite”

“You expect me to get into a cage on my own will?”

“You won’t like the other option.”

“And that is?”

“I will have to put you in it myself, can’t promise I ‘ll be gentle.”

“Gentleman, aren’t you?” they hiss defeatedly, walking to the jar, stumbling as the man flipped it upright as they did

“Never said I was; I’m a pirate”

“Is it a dwarf?” Yassop question

“I'm not a dwarf im a borrower!” They exclaimed, smacking the jar angrily as they only received a laugh from the sniper

“Well, Well who would have thought?” Shanks spoke, smiling as he leaned his head against his hand and observed the tiny human

“All this time, I thought we were just partying too hard,” he laughed, his crew following suit

“You do party too hard; you should lay off the alcohol take things more seriously.”

“You are hardly in a position to be giving suggestions, Mx Borrower,” Hongo piped in, giving said person a sideglance as he continued downing his drink

“What are you going to do with me?” They repeat

“Hmm, hard to say, not like we can let you go, little mx

We can have you help with some tasks around the ship; your size limits the option, but I'm sure my men can find something for you to help with.”

“Who said I was going to help you? Why would I?

“Hmm? Well, I assumed you didn’t want to stay trapped there,” he commented with a lopsided smile as he tapped the jar

“Ah, was I wrong?”

“Fine”

How can I make it better guys? Holo is this closer PLEASE CALL ME OUT IF IT’s NOT AND TELL ME HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER

I haven't even finished writing the fic and I really wanna start my next project. I have options:

Montgomery Gator & Reader where Reader is a Borrower, based on both the books and 'Arriety'

Bowser x Reader where Reader is a witch, based on 'Kiki's Delivery Service'

Bowser x Reader where Reader is a sailor/pirate that sets up a temporary market in the Koopa Kingdom

I might start planning for one of these. Maybe. I'm feeling creative but not enough to sit down and actually continue writing.

Edit: Wait no we have another option where it's Bowser & Reader where Reader is a member of a travelling circus

Quarantine meme(current media and hobbies edition):

Books read/reading: The Last Wish (the Witcher book the show is based on). Granny Chic by Tif Fussell & Rachel Blondel (a reread for some crafty inspiration), the encyclopaedia of wire jewellery techniques (a reread as I got it into my head that I want to try a few things with copper wire. I have put wire and a jewellery tool kit on my wish list. My old kit was cheap and I broke one of the pliers. Oops), Troublesome Things: a history of fairies and fairy stories by Diane Purkiss. My focus is shit so I dip in an out when I feel like I can pay attention a bit.

Shows watched: Parks and Rec, the Crossing, Farscape (I’m taking a break from it but I like to watch it while I’m spinning yarn), Britain at Low Tide, the Repair Shop

Movies watched: Arriety, the last witch hunter, the Losers ( watched while on discord audio chat with @aenariasbookshelf where we mostly bitched about marvel while pausing at various moments for the eye candy. Push is next on thirst viewing, right?).

YouTube: Vox Tox, a couple of yarn spinning tutorials and one of wire jewellery making.

Fic read: the nearness of you/the new normal by @grimeysociety

Writing: uhhh, a few lines of a ficlet that I made a graphic of where Steve is a single dad pining after grad student Darcy who visits his coffee shop several times a week. (God I miss coffee shops). It’s not much but the au, and talking about it makes me happy.

Crafts: spinning yarn, sewing a few project bags from an old tunic top, doodling some dolls, making one of the dolls I doodled (a Plague Nurse).

Oh yeah!! I've been playing a lot of Zelda and Mario RPGs lately!! Especially Minish Cap and Superstar Saga.

I really like these games in particular because i can play them in the same emulator- which when it's on its original window size i can take screenshots and edit the pixel art for reference! Because,if i haven't told you, I like pixel videogames a lot!! I'd love to make one of my own one day!

I've also been watching two Movies of studio ghibli, Porco Rosso & Arriety.. they are so good.. they inspire me for my own stories.

Oh by the by- I recently got a GBC emulator,and i'm planning to play donkey kong country since you reccomended it last time i spoke about games :D

@katabasiss tagged anyone who wanted to do this and I honestly haven’t done much to introduce myself to the writing community here yet, so here is a start.

How would you describe your writing style?

A mess of long sentences and awful descriptions.

Can you ever finish anything or do you get distracted by new ideas far too easily?

I tend to be focused on one WIP for a few months and then abandon it. I don’t necessarily get distracted by new ideas, but I’ll get stuck and I won’t know how to move the story along, leading me to get unmotivated, disinterested, and disheartened in it all.

Who or what influenced you most in your writing? (E.g teachers, books, siblings, myths etc)

I’ve always loved reading and the escape it gave me. I loved the idea of creating my own world that I could live in and that readers could experience, falling in love with my characters like I have.

My mom has also always been a huge influence. She read all of my god awful first stories and never told me that I couldn’t write. She just encouraged me to keep going. Neither of my parents has ever talked badly about my dream to be a writer.

Do you ever want to publish?

I’ve actually already self-published, though the book is absolutely awful. I didn’t give myself enough time to properly write it, edit it, and make sure it was how I wanted it. I rushed into it and did it. Now I absolutely despise the book.

I want to finish my newest WIP and actually take the time to do everything I can to fine tune it so I can actually be published by a company. It’s always been a dream to become at least a slightly popular author so that I can have fans who draw art for me and love my books. It might never happen, but I still would love it.

What is your worst writing related fear?

Failure. I’m not the best at taking people’s criticism so if one thing is disliked, I either completely ignore the problem or get completely turned off of writing because clearly I have no talent, right? I also am terrified that I’m not actually all that good of a writer, which takes away the one talent I believe I have.

If you could stop time and write for as long as you like without the pressure of time or other people, without losing interest, what would you write?

My WIP, maybe edit my published story I despise, and maybe finish one of my poor abandoned stories.

What is your favourite book?

I love so many books, but my absolute favorites are the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Claire, the Vladimir Todd series by Heather Brewer, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

I own literally every book you can for the Shadowhunter series from all the novels to the side stories when they are compiled into the physical copy versus ebooks to the codex to the character book drawn by Cassandra Jean.

What was your favourite book when you were a child? (About 10 or younger)

I can’t honestly remember what my favorite book series was before I was ten? I have a weird blank spot in my memories where I honestly can’t remember a lot of stuff from then except random memories. I know I loved Harry Potter and some series about mice, but that’s all I got.

Which movie do you think has the best story?

I love Studio Ghibli movies like Up on Poppy Hill, The Secret Life of Arriety, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Spirited Away. I think they have some of the best stories ever and I recently read something that someone posted about how they focus on the little things in life, like watching clouds and laying in flowers and other things, showing that appreciating the little things is important.

Would you ever like to write stories for games? Why/why not?

Maybe? I’ve always thought I might make a better visual writer, making stories for movies, TV shows, or games because I try to always envision it as a movie in my head. Writing a story for a game definitely isn’t something I’ve ever considered, but it might be an interesting idea.

I don’t actually really know anyone, so of my few followers or whoever else sees this, go ahead and do it!
