Arogender flag by @aroacearborvitae, @arokaladin and @aromagni
(Any gender identity influenced by being aromantic or an aromantic-spectrum identity.
Can also be used as a standalone gender label or in conjunction with others. The second choice would mean your aromantic/-spectrum identity influenced your gender in a significant way to you, so that existing labels don’t correctly or fully describe your gender, or you feel it’s important for others to know your aromanticism and gender are connected.)

Y'know, being aro is actually pretty freaking great. I know we talk a lot about how isolating it is and the discrimination we have to deal with, but I love being aro.
I love having a unique view on relationships and the ability to look at romance as an outsider.
I enjoy interacting with media and fandom from an aromantic point of view.
There is a special kind of magic to knowing that no matter what happens, I can live on my own without the want/need/desire for a romantic relationship. That this is MY life and MY choices.
I love focusing my energy on my own development and enjoyment of life without feeling guilty about being "unavailable".
There is a special kind of joy in knowing I'm aro and a lesbian, knowing that I can enjoy and interact with women and nonbinary people in a unique way and that my attraction to them is just as soft as it is sexual.
Being aro also influences my gender and I deeply enjoy that relationship, I find comfort in knowing my identity is a whole made of different, interacting parts that make me my own unique person.
I love being aromantic and I love the community and security I have found within that identity.
I'm aro and it fucking slaps.

to the soft-romo aros,
to the neuaros,
to the arogenders,
to the non-sam aros,
to the romo aros,
to the variorented aros,
to the nonamorous and nonpartnering aros
to the nebularomantics, quoiromantics, grayromantics, frayromantics, abroromantics, arospikes, recirporomantics, lithromantics, apothiromantics, demiromantics, aegoromantics, aroflux, arovagues, cupioromantics, bellusromantics,
to the amorous and partnering aros,

You are imporant to the aro community, you make the understanding of aromanticism, relationships and navigation of life richer.
You deserve to be heard, your experiences and understanding deserves to be taken into account.
To all of you, thank you for existing.

Long overdue FAQ:
(or more accurately, a long list of answers to questions I wish people would bother to ask)
Is this a discourse blog? No, but I will occasionally make posts about the discourse, which will be tagged as ‘diskhorse’ to avoid them getting into general search results, so that’s the tag to block if talk of it will upset you.
Are you an inclusionist? Technically yeah but I’m not gonna use a label that implies this is a debate I have a side on. I believe I belong in the queer/lgbt+ community because... I do.... I’m not an ‘inclusionist’ I’m just Right. if you’re an aphobe/exclusionist and you even breathe in the direction of my blog I will block. Same goes if you’re ‘neutral on discourse’ because that makes you an exclusionist.
Is this a positivity blog? No. This is a vent/discussion blog and as such will contain frequent mention of arophobia/amatonormativity. It’s not all negative here but hollow positivity isn’t my thing and if that’s what you prefer this blog may not be your thing.
Can I follow if my blog is...? If your blog is primarily nsfw, kink, etc. I would rather not. I am sex repulsed, so if you do still try and follow I will at least softblock. Same goes if you’re a terf, fujoshi, MAP, ddlg blog or etc. except I will definitely just straight up block because that shit is nasty.
What’s voidpunk/arogender/a qpr? Please check my tags I am begging you. Here are my voidpunk tag, my arogender tag, and my qprs tag
How do you feel about asks? I have had some bad experiences with asks to be honest, and often feel like people are using me as a venting tool rather than respecting that as I as a fellow human may not want a random stranger to tell me upsetting things. I keep asks, and anon, on because I do still get a lot of good asks and I want to communicate with my followers but if you send me irrelevant venting with no clear question involved, sexual/romantic content, or anything else that’s otherwise rude and unhelpful I reserve my right to just delete the ask and move on.
Can you tell me if I’m aromantic? No, sorry, that’s a personal decision, but if you send a specific question about your questioning process I’d be happy to offer guidance and validate your aromantic experiences. You can also check out my questioning tag!
I will likely update this FAQ every now and then
#faq#lads blease read this#also feel free to ask if theres obvious stuff i missed off on here?#idk what ppl put on these

Feel free to ignore this if it's too personal, but I saw your post on the arogender flag and your tags saying that you relate to that label, and I was wondering if you could elaborate? How does being aroace interact with your gender identity?
(For anyone curious, the post mentioned can be found here)The single most concrete example I can think of about how being aroace affected my gender is that 15yo me deliberately switched from feminine clothes to wearing “neutral” clothes, citing that feminine clothes were generally more tight/revealing and I didn’t want to feel sexualized. In hindsight, I realize that a lot of this probably had to do with me not feeling like a girl and that hidden in my discomfort with “being sexualized” was also the dysphoria I felt. In this way, my aroace identity kinda obscured my agender identity, but simultaneously it allowed me to explore my gender expression, by adopting a generally queer aesthetic and cutting my hair short because I “didn’t want to look straight”. I am Aromantic, Asexual, and Agender, which puts me in an interesting position where my identity is primarily defined by what I’m not, rather than by what I am. It can be difficult to realize what you don’t feel and even harder to define it, which for me was especially the case with my gender. Gender is rather ambiguously defined, perhaps because it differs a little for everyone. However, I think a lot of masculinity and femininity is expressed through how people experience their attractions, or at least it was a lot more difficult for me to find explanations of what gender felt like because many were dependent on romance and such. So while being aroace made me accustomed to examining my identity and whether or not I felt something, it also made it much more difficult to understand gender enough to determine whether or not I feel it.I really like the term arogender because if I had seen it 2-3 years ago, I would’ve been able to confidently identify with it rather than continuing to procrastinate the whole gender thing. I’d been considering agender for years but was never sure because definitions are so confusing (and it was only the recent realization that answering “She/Her” as my preferred pronouns felt like a lie which had me finally identifying confidently as agender). So basically I identify as agender for simplicity because it is accurate, but I very much consider arogender to be a more precise term for my gender and thus I use it as a modifier to describe the way I experience being agender.
#aromantic#arogender#aroace#agender#triple a#nonbinary#my post#magni's thoughts#thanks for asking!#feel free to reblog#I don't consider the question too personal it just took me a few days to be on my computer and have time for it because school#acemindbreaker

Obscurely specific positivity posts are so great.
“Shoutout to fat, frayromantic, biromantic, heterosexual, demisexual, arogender maveriques of color!”
Like, is it not so wholesome to think of the tiny number of people who this applies to that see it and how it might light up their day?
