Happy Mabon!
Today is a special day for me because it is a birthday of my currently favorite OC, the MC of Hogwarts Legacy, and I intend to dedicate the whole of October to her. Happy birthday, Arlene! I wish to thank everyone, my friends and my rp-partners, who gave my girl love and kindness, she is my muse for a year now and I doubt it will change anytime soon. It is also Mabon, pagan holiday, the day of the autumn equinox, when day is equal to night, the day of years conclusions and the last harvest! On this day it is customary to give gifts, sum up and let go of the pain of the past. So also, Happy Mabon to everyone!

Arlene Irving sleepover be like:
💚 She’s got no fancy Victorian lady pajamas because she is very poor, so she rather comes in whatever oversize and cozy long shirts and socks she can find in her wardrobe or (if she dates Gaunt) she steals (but he knows that) Ominis’ shirts and comes in them. Much happier. (She washes and returns them lately.) She usually looks hilarious.
💚 She’s Irish. So she brings drinks. Lots of drinks. Different drinks. Wine, Irish cream, whiskey, butter beer… If you don’t drink, she’ll make you some tea and will bring cookies.
💚 Arlene has lots of creepy stories about haunted mansions and ghosts, as her homeland is full of them. She will tell you The House of the Judge in all details and playin the story. Or epic ones about Vikings and Northern mythology. Or some about great captains and sailors and pirates. She loves stories. And she will also be a very attentive listener.
💚 If the main topic shall go to love and crush gossiping, she will blush hard, go silent and drink a lot, never ever engaging in that type of conversation. But if someone starts gossiping about Ominis, she will stop the impoliteness towards him.
💚 Sweet, buzzed, hilarious and friendly until someone starts to be annoying and a real ass. If that happens, she can slap them, carry them to the door and kick out from the room when her temperance is broken. Then will return calmly to the sleepover being sweet again.
💚 Loves pillows fights and pillow forts.
💚 If she is happy and buzzed enough, she will end up singing Irish tunes and sailing songs. If she’s not ending with “The Drunken Sailor” and smashing the tap dance, the sleepover was a boring crap.
💚 Sleeps quietly in one pose, not moving and barely breathing. Searches for something in her sleep with her little palms, wakes up often, checking out if everything is ok. Sleepover guard.
💚 If she cannot go to sleep due too insomnia, she will sit near the window and stare at the sky and stars.
💚 The one who will help the host to make a cleanup in the morning even if she has a deadlier hangover ever.
Thanks to @noelles-legacy for hosting the event and everyone participating, much fun! :3

List of birthdays of the different MCs of Hogwarts Legacy
🎉 Hi everyone! 🎂
Inspired by a similar post from @magomo, I thought it would be nice to compile all the birthdays of the MCs from the Hogwarts Legacy fandom.👉👈
This post could also be useful for planning an event, or something special to celebrate your favourite MCs on a significant date or simply to wish them a happy birthday!✨️
For this post to be consistent:
. Your character must be an MC in the game or an MC in one of your fanworks.
. Your character must fit into the timeline/canon of the game and not just live in the same era.
. Please provide the complete date of birth of the MC, their full name and surname, their house, either in a comment, reblog or message. 😊
. If for any reason you no longer want your MC to appear on this post, please let me know in the same way.

Arlene and Thestrals
My MC’s mother died ten minutes after giving Arlene birth. Arlene was right there near, so I wonder if it can give the one an ability to see thestrals.
If its not the case, than there was always a plenty of possibilities. Her dad is extremely rich and cruel Irish house lord with wicked mind… “Aims justify the means”, he always says. Violence does not disturb him at all and his heart is a piece of stone. Arlene could be a witness of something terrible, like him making sure some other man who tried to cross his road being “cared of” by servants.
Or it could be simply witnessing the death of anyone who lived in nearby villages that belonged to her family estate. It is northern Ireland, 1880-1890. Sicknesses, poverty, cold, indifference of the mistrustful people. Not the best area to build a happy and long life.
—————
Now I think that she always was seeing thestrals, actually. And game thing was a bit formal for her. Maybe she forgot. 😁
Yeah, my lore is a bit dark, forgive me my love for drama. 😅
And that was an interesting question. :3
I'VE A MC QUESTION FOR Y'ALL! I'm curious…please reblog this if you want to reply :3
A post of this kind may exist somewhere but....
If your MC was able to see Thestrale before the event in the main story: what was the trigger for that?
Im so curious...🥺✨ My blog is not big, not so many people see my posts and im totally fine with it! But id love to hear about all your different storys and I have the little hope this post will reach many MCs and their players🦤 I plan to post a few more questions later (maybe). Its so much fun to share about my MC and read about all the other MCs (more then the game itself, lol)

Jeff Buckley’s Iconic Flame
By Jane Gabriels
May 2017
In May 1997, we heard rumors. We called from pay phones scattered throughout the East Village to get our messages: “Did you hear?” We heard each other say, “Jeff is strong.” For three days, we were in limbo. We heard a musician tell another regular from the Sin-é, “You know Jeff, he probably got tempted by a good meal, and he’s off lounging on a lawn chair in someone’s backyard.” And then, “How could that have happened?” Boots and undercurrents and waves knocked him under and wouldn’t let go.
Just like all of us.
We have his voice, and the climb of his songs, and where they leave to find you again.
When I write about the early ’90s East Village, it’s like opening and closing doors rapidly, like blinking, like creating a film from photographs. When you’re not from N.Y.C. and you move here to live, you’re after a dream you can’t always quite name.
Sit on a bench in Tompkins Square Park until, if you’re lucky, you imagine hearing how the beats and melodies spiraling out of Sin-é, the Living Room, Fez Under Time Café, Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar, Tonic, the Bottom Line, CBGBs, the Pink Pony, Other Music, and Tower Records sunk into the ground here. You can definitely hear the music moving towards you from Arlene’s, Irving Plaza, the Mercury Lounge, Scratchers. Under these trees, and the length of their elegant branches, this is the central heartbeat. The songs mingle—layering, collapsing, re-arranging—informing the mood and the way we walk and talk together. Even with these venues gone, traces of how they held voices and songs circulate.
***
We were in the East Village for the music, for dance, for creativity. We were there for late night talks after shows at the cube at Astor Place. We’d put our hands on one of its corners to push it: to move our own minds into a refreshed perspective. We let the city revolve our cells.
The first time I heard Jeff play at Sin-é, I remember three or four people in the room. One minute we were seated separately at tables with cups of coffee and the next, we were all hands on deck in a storm on high seas. Jeff was the captain making the storm and leading us through.
You tell me how that happened, this sudden journey he created for us to disappear into.
Standing at the microphone, he released his head, threw it forward with his mouth open, teeth exposed. This high-pitched cry, both held within and barely contained by his mouth, unleashed. Like it had always been there, and finally asked to be revealed. Jeff was there to find something, to call it to surface, to sing his way forward through that cry. This cry he imagined also calling him—the guitar holding ground.
I think I was holding my breath.
In 1993, four songs launched a career out of his first recorded album, Live at Sin-é. My loud whoop, learned from imitating the dancers in my West African classes at Fareta, is the last sound recorded from the audience. The first time I heard myself on that record, I almost fell over.
Jeff played inside the songs, alive with the music, and brought them more to life. People sometimes remember covers of his songs more than they connect with the originals.
What I can tell you from that night is that there was an air of concentration, a re-tuning of vibrations in that familiar room that moved his work and performance from a neighborhood gig into another form. Here was something that would mark forever his days at the Sin-é. A moment before his life changed, again. It’s not like you make a record like Live at Sin-é and then continue to play only there. We were suddenly part of that trajectory molded from outside his own resources.
Another thing about that night: the clapping between songs was punctuation. A lull where we could move to mark the in-between together.
I think of him when the train stops at Union Square on a Friday, 6:00 p.m., and there’s a band playing. How it pulls at you to run up the crowded mountain of stairs to explode and decompose yourself in their planet. The drummer throws his stick up in the air; it twirls, and he catches it in time to pound out the next beat. Jeff would have loved it.
He’s inspiring, twenty years after his death. And this is how I am writing about Jeff. He filled his aloneness with beautiful things. I think we waited for him to play out of his mind, so we could leave ours, and go someplace better.

Telescreens Announce Debut Album '7' and Fall Tour Following Sold-Out Irving Plaza Show
New York City’s rock scene is alive and kicking, and leading the charge is none other than Telescreens. Over the weekend, the band delivered a powerhouse performance at a sold-out Irving Plaza, where they thrilled fans by announcing their debut full-length album, 7, set for release on October 4th via Victor Victor. The album will feature fan favorites like “Floods,” “Vertigo,” and “Burns,” and promises to be a defining moment in their musical journey. 7 captures the raw energy and evolution of a band that’s grown up in the city’s fast-paced, ever-changing music scene. Telescreens have made a name for themselves with electrifying live performances that are as intense as they are immersive. Rising quickly from playing small, intimate venues like Arlene’s Grocery and Baby’s All Right, they’ve leveled up to sell out Bowery Ballroom and perform at high-profile events like New York’s Governor’s Ball. Their show at Irving Plaza, their largest venue to date, was a testament to their rapid ascent and their growing fanbase. Supported by acts like Sid Simons and The Things, the night was a celebration of their rise in the city's vibrant rock scene. With their debut album just around the corner, Telescreens are gearing up for a whirlwind fall tour. They’ll hit the road supporting Marc E. Bassy, and will share the stage with Catfish and the Bottlemen at an Austin City Limits (ACL) aftershow. And the excitement doesn’t stop there—following 7’s release, Telescreens will take on their first ACL headline set on October 5th, marking yet another milestone for the band. Telescreens have already cemented their reputation as a must-see live act, catching the attention of high-profile fans like Juliette Lewis and CELINE creative director Hedi Slimane. Their rise has also garnered media attention from Lyrical Lemonade, V Magazine, and PAPER Magazine. With 7 on the horizon and a packed tour schedule, it’s clear that this is just the beginning of Telescreens’ unstoppable momentum. Pre-save 7 now, and keep your eyes peeled—there’s a lot more coming from Telescreens soon. Hear “Burns” below: Upcoming Tour Dates supporting Marc E. Remark below (depending on what I heard lately about the AI):
I am artist, I work as artist and I support artists. I think AI is a great instrument in helping artists when used properly, giving the inspirational results, ideas, developing imagination and text describing skills. Silly fun involved. You won’t spend for weeks of your life creating a masterpiece for fun!
Open minded view nowadays is crucial.
We cannot deny the progress, but we can get the whole from it. Maybe there were people who denied the creation of the wheel. Well, they are not here.

OLD FAVORITES AT SMALL’S
SCOTT ROBINSON with Helen Sung, Martin Wind, and David Hawkins, 18 AUGUST 2024, 6 pm set
ARI HOENIG with Gabriel Chakraji and Ben Tiberio, 19 AUGUST 2024, 9 pm
While I see ARI HOENIG much more frequently than SCOTT ROBINSON, they each intrigue me for, I’ve decided, their eccentricity. Hoenig has a regular Monday night gig, roughly once a month. Robinson is much more occasional.
But both are quirky.
ROBINSON has a nice light tone on tenor, think Lester Young and Stan Getz, and his improvisations are patient and melodic. His trumpet playing (wait, what?!?) is more than competent and valuable in revealing the way he hears music. But he also had a bass saxophone on which he was surprisingly nimble and took it into low tenor range with that same lightness. It was not a honking foghorn. He chose less well know tunes from upstanding citizens of the Republic of the Great American Songbook including Irving Berlin twice, Johnny Mandel, and Harold Arlen. Like his own trumpet playing, these rarer gems could illuminate their main work. He regularly plays with Helen Sung and Martin Wind. Sung’s own gigs, as I recall and it’s been a while, are spikier but with another interesting lighter tenor player, John Ellis. She swung nicely here. Wind was solid but a victim of at least the way the room sound it picked up at this venue. So the real find was David Hawkins’ very tasteful, responsive drumming. It was a straightahead gig and yet Robinson is unpredictable. So he’s worth catching to see what he’s up to.
HOENIG’s fidgety power hears rhythms in complex ways while being very attentive to the tunes he is playing as tunes. He composes appealingly, but also dug into You and the Night and the Music and a tune that wasn’t Milestones but perhaps quoted it. With Venezuelan Gabriel Chakraji in place of Gadi Lehavi, the music was differently lush and perhaps even gentler. Still he shifted into Latin power a couple of times; he wasn’t reflexively there throughout but it was always at hand. Hoenig was glad to roar too, but on the whole this was a quieter gig, just as rhythmically complex but even more tuneful. Ben Tiberio benefited as his always lush thoughtful solos were important and accessible. I have come to really appreciate Lehavi but Chakraji’s presence changed the dynamic in nifty ways.
Back home, I’m getting back to relying on these streams. It’s nice to have old reliables as I settle into it again.

・❥・Couple: Arlene Irving/Ominis Gaunt
・❥・ Name: Arliminis or Girving
・❥・Fun fact: The two of them are engaged in criminal Slytherin tricks and mischievous partnership. Ominis plans mischiefs and Arlene carries them out technically. They also play a game of "imagine what the other person is doing”, climbing up to a balcony somewhere high up where they can see the landings, Arlene describes everyone she sees to Ominis and they make up a dumbass mockery story. In general, she tries to make him laugh at least once a day. And Ominis also spoiled her with gossiping, teaching her the ancient art of information trading. She was never gossiping before he spread the influence on her.

Steven Keene and Woody Guthrie presents: This World Is Your World
Few musical compositions have so successfully tapped into that elusive formula of the enduring human spirit that is the recipe for timeless songwriting with the power to resonate across generations as Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land”.
With an unflinching commitment to his particular woke brand of socially conscious folk music — and with an uncanny instinct for optimizing music’s transformative capacity to expose injustice, inspire resistance, and serve as a driver for meaningful social/political change — NYC-based singer-songwriter and folkie poet Steven Keene reincarnates Guthrie’s most iconic protest original to deliver an anti-authoritarian anthem for a global age with his latest single “This World Is Your World” (to be released 4/19/2024). Having received the official blessing of the Woody Guthrie Estate to publish the track, Keene has achieved something very few artists have: a rare co-writing credit with the folk legend Woody Guthrie himself.
Originally written in 1940 by iconic American folk singer Woody Guthrie as a critical response to the archaic sense of nationalism and “manifest destiny” expressed in Irving Berlin's "God Bless America," “This Land is Your Land” has since been covered by a myriad of notable artists over the years and has been adapted for political relevance in scores of other countries. Yet, in Keene’s hands, the song feels oddly relevant and at home in the particular chaos of the present. Expressed through the unique, spectral lens of a post-Covid society teetering on the brink of global conflict, the original song’s call for unity, empathy, and a renewed recognition of our common humanity across traditional lines of division is brought to universal bloom in the context of an unprecedentedly globalized world.
Says Keene, “As one of the first, if not the first true Americana protest song, “This Land Is Your Land” has really become not just a landmark folk song for America, but a folk song for the world. It’s a song that has significance everywhere, in every country, on every continent. Woody wrote one of those perfect songs that just will resonate forever. But the world is more of a powder keg now than it's ever been. Very scary times. So that kind of music is super important in this global moment for facilitating inspiring people towards a unified movement against war.”
“This World Is Your World” is Keene’s first single to drop so far this year following the 2023 release of his most recent album Woke, which pays homage to some of the artist’s major creative influences while chronicling the evolution of his own sound as he continues to explore musical and lyrical motifs around love, loss, social responsibility, and political resistance.

BIO:
Steven Keene grew up in Brooklyn New York and got his start playing the folk clubs and cafes of the Greenwich Village scene in the early '90s alongside contemporaries Beck, Susanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, and others. He started out performing his earliest material at The Speakeasy, the now-closed folk club that was a singer-songwriter, folky staple in the ’90s. For years, he would crisscross the streets of McDougal and Bleecker, playing the open mikes, hootenanny's and small clubs including the Bottom Line (back in the day, that was considered the best listening room), Lone Star Cafe, the Mercury Lounge, the Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, and the legendary CBGB's. Back then, Keene shared stages and played regularly with then fellow emerging unknown folkie Beck at joints like Sun Mountain Cafe and the Chameleon.
By 1990, Keene had made enough of a name for himself on the folk scene, so that when he was ready to release his first album Keene On Dylan, he found former Bob Dylan band members Howie Wyeth and Rob Stoner (Desire/Rolling Thunder) accessible and eager to collaborate on this eclectic mix of originals, covers, and traditionals.
A few years later in 1995, Keene’s second album No Alternative was put out on the Moo Records label featuring other former Dylan band members Tony Garnier, John Jackson, and Bucky Baxter. He also played a tune on this album, "Only Homeless" with Danny Kalb, the legendary musician from the 60's Village scene. No Alternative saw a good deal of success and was distributed through BMG in Europe in conjunction with a European tour and video on MTV Europe for the single, "Far Better Friend than Lover,” an updated version of which will be the second single for the new EP.
In 2001 Steven released Set Clock on Moo Records which received praise in the local New York press and featured the Mancini inspired “She Poured Gasoline,” the freaky basement tapes sound of “Hang a Plaque” and title track “ Set Clock,” which lamented the purity of being naive in virtuous youth and losing that purity over time with lines like “I wish I knew now what I once knew then”. Keene was featured on Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight" and toured extensively to promote the album.
Keene staged a noteworthy recent comeback in 2020 with his EP It Is What It Is, just released in January following a steady stream of original singles dropping every month or so since last fall. The consistent flow and range of the new material being churned out lately foreshadows the broad stylistic eclecticism and bold subject matter that can be expected on his upcoming album Them and Us, slated to be released later this year.
