maybe he has humiliation kink. maybe he has degradation kink. he would like to hear more of her mean words that are directed to him, and only him. maybe he is too selfish to think, 'only she can bully him this way, and he should be her only victim'. he doesn't really like sharing, so this case is no different.

step on him, slap him, do what you want with him. he would gladly accept it if it's from her. he is willing to give anything, if it pleases her. he would even let her tie him down, edge him until he can't take it anymore. call him a 'pervert', he doesn't really care if she tells him that. lumen is really a filthy, filthy person, he knows, but all for her.

chongyue headcanons bc unfortunately i have feelings for this man and i will be a tsun about it if someone asks me:

is the type that wants to learn about anything and everything as possible. if you have an extremely niche interest or stuff that's really under the radar, he'd go on about to do research about it or ask you straight up to listen to you talk.

even though he's a big lover for food (if anything specially noodles), i feel like he would butcher anything else if there's no proper guidance so expect the first couple of dishes he makes for you is going to be not as good as you hoped 😭. but he is trying!! and if you're from a certain region or country, he'd try his best to learn that region's cuisine to impress you.

is the type to show his intents more with actions than words. like don't get me wrong, he can be very straightforward but he likes to use his actions to speak for him more. he wants cuddles? he's coming up behind you to give you a hug and a kiss on your cheek. you have some food left on your cheek? he'd smudged it off with his thumb then eat it himself. are you cold? he's handing his coat over to your shoulders to wear. he's just a genuine sweetheart like that <3

since he himself had a very rigorous routine on the landship, he would try to help you settle in a routine that's best fit you in your life. he'd motivate you to try harder and give you affirmations while doing the activity with you. he's someone that i can see that challenges your current living style but in a way that makes you venture out more. but i can also see him before leaving for morning training to destroy the operators' pysche and physical limitations, he's also the type to leave you a kiss on your forehead while you snore away in your bed together before leaving.

all in all, he's someone that is filled with so much love and it shows in everything he says and do to you. he treats you with so much love and whenever he looks at you it's almost as if you're just his entire world and it's so endearing to see for everyone.

I’ve written a few fics about Czerny now, and at least one specifically around the idea of him being autistic. I received a lovely comment where a reader was interested in the idea and was curious about textual evidence, and seeing as others have written in-depth posts about autism headcanons...well, I decided to do the same, and to post it here instead of in a long rambly comment-response!

So without further ado...some headcanons on Czerny, how he could be read as autistic, and how this influences his character, under the readmore. Light spoilers for Lingering Echoes, Ebenholz’s operator record, and Czerny’s trust files are included for those who haven’t read. (And for those who don’t want to read: enjoy this art from his creator!)

I didn’t set out to headcanon Czerny as autistic when I first read him, I swear. However, as I read through his dialogue and operator files, as well as overanalyzing some of his design choices, I realized that an argument could at least be made for him having a Sensory Processing Disorder (something that runs in my own German/Swiss-Austrian family). Thus, let's start with some of those points:

Stimming. He outright states this one in a trust dialogue: "My hair, well...I often unconsciously grab at it while composing, if that explains its current unruliness".

Speaking of hair: in both his official art and all the art by his creator, he always has his hair braided directly above his ears. The outfit, collar, and even his eyewear changes, but that element of his hair remains. Wouldn't it make sense if he's overly sensitive to his ears being touched by stray hairs, so he takes extra pain to maintain those braids?

Issues with food. There are repeated comments about Czerny not eating when he's in the throes of composing, which at first glance I took for hyperfocusing on his work. He's also the most wary of Hibiscus's cooking in Lingering Echoes, which is clearly meant to be played for laughs regarding her cooking. However, I also read it as someone who's used to having his food a very particular way, and when the food is changed up or replaced entirely, adapting to new textures and flavors can be difficult.

It makes sense that Czerny would take special care of his hands, and this comes up in a lot of dialogue. The medics even comment that he'll panic if he has "so much as a hangnail". But if he's sensitive to touch and texture, AND he takes extra care over his hands, an overblown reaction like that would make sense.

Now, as I was reading into his files and dialogue for these points (as well as other fic research), I was struck by a few other elements.

One is his blunt, honest manner. Both in-universe and as noted by fans, Czerny can be a harsh but fair critic. He himself states that "Any charm or taste I may have had has been poured entirely into my compositions." For the most part, he doesn't concern himself with pleasantries or making nice; if he has an opinion, he'll state it. But he's not one to lie, and even espouses the importance of earnestness to Ebenholz during Lingering Echoes.

Despite this though, Czerny does have to hide a lot of his own emotions in order to deal with his circumstances, at least in Lingering Echoes. He has to bow to Nobles and their whims despite his loathing for them, and there are numerous points where he holds himself back from voicing his opinions in public. He also identifies himself as a coward, and has multiple dialogue lines denoting his own fear. "I'm terrified, Doctor. Always have been."

Looking at these elements together, I'm under the impression that this man has learned to mask a lot in order to survive. And when under the constant pressure of not only poverty and illness but also supporting an entire community? No wonder he’s considered tempermental.

The only times he seems able to truly express himself is through his music (note how he emphasizes the importance of emotion in music during his 2-star clear line) and in battle, where he goes from polite to screaming at his enemies. We also have the note in an operator file from a professor that Morgen und Abend was one of the few glimpses through his "iron body". And there are multiple times in both files and dialogues where it’s noted that he’ll refuse to budge from his desk until a composition is complete...that moment, perhaps, when he finally figures out the feelings in his heart and how to express all the things his words fail to convey.

Music is how Czerny expresses himself, though one should also note that empathy for others is also important both in and out of music. After all, he corrects Ebenholz that Morgen und Abend wasn't written from his own grief, but out of indignation for how she suffered. He gives up the rights to his music in order to save the people of the Afterglow during the events of Lingering Echoes. Hell, even in Ebenholz's Operator Record, Czerny is touched that Ebenholz is the one defying orders and performing for the Afterglow's residents, but also begs him to stop in order to keep him safe. He loves music, true, but he loves people even more, and he cares so damn much he’ll repeatedly put his life on the line for them.

So, whether or not it was intended by anyone who worked on his character, Czerny reads to me as autistic. Passionate about what he loves, keyed into the feelings of others while having notable difficulties with conveying his own emotions outside of music, and processing the world a little differently from those around him. And I think that’s all key to not only how he creates his music, but how he connects with others, and how he’s learning to move on in a world so much bigger and stranger than where he grew up.

And even if he's still figuring out how to balance the new and familiar...even if he's scared of it at all times...Czerny keeps going anyway. He helps others with music and arts. He expands upon his own skills, even developing new hobbies in habits. Hell, he even gets a motorcycle to go exploring across “those faraway lands roaring through Czerny's mind without abate.” He's going to be okay.

(And watching Czerny be brave and move forward in the face of so much change...well, it inspires me to bravery too.)

Well, those are my thoughts with evidence on the matter, and I’m sure I'll pick up more when I do a full reread of Lingering Echoes. In the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts, and I hope you enjoyed reading!

Hello! Apologies for taking a while to get to this. I threw in a mix of some of my thoughts for how modern lumen would be like and canon akverse lumen for this :) :

my headcanons for him under the cut!:

I can see modern au! Lumen taking up a nursing degree, which is parallel to canon akverse Lumen with his role as the caregiver in Gran Faro. He is that one quiet student who usually sits in the middle row during lectures and prefers to approach the lecturer one-on-one if he has any pressing questions.

Lumen strikes me as an early riser. He goes to bed early and wakes up just as early. Sometimes he gets up well before dawn to get a view of the sunrise on the deck of Rhodes Island, it brings him a peace of mind when he watches the red rim of the morning sun from afar rising from behind the mountains.

I think he hums to keep his focus when he works (applicable to both modern and canon akverse Lumen). Sometimes it's a mindless tune he conjured up in his mind, other times a note (or two) from a melody he heard when he was still a boy resurfaces and slips from between his lips.

Lumen is a mix of a coffee and tea person, he drinks either depending on the time of day and how it went. If he had a bad day, his colleagues or fellow coursemates might find him downing a cup of coffee. If Lumen simply needs a boost to bring his energy back, he would go for the latter.

He is freckled all over!! Given the amount of time he spends outdoors whenever he is dispatched on a mission from the Inquisition or simply strolling along the streets of Iberia. Freckles kiss his skin in abundance akin to stardust spread throughout the galaxies - a gracious gift from Helios himself.

Be it the canon storyline or modern au, Lumen's propensity for extending a helping hand towards those in need is innate. In fact, this trait has been so ingrained into him that it can be said to be permanent and plays into a large part of his character. I think he would bring his coursemates tea and sit down to spend time with them or help them with an assignment they have been struggling with if this is modern au we are talking about.

You had no idea how you got to this city of bright lights and sounds. Music seems to pour in from every corner and building. The last thing you remember, is Doctor Loriann sent you to the rec-room and you decided to take a little nap. And now you're 'awake' in this bizarre and unknown city. What seems like thousands of people swarm the streets. Just where the hell are you?

"Excuse me? Are you lost?~" a sweet voice asks you.

You whip your head around to see a man with a halo... and wings sprouting from his head? Sankta have wings, yes, but never from their head... At least not the ones you've met, and you've met quite a few.

"U-Um... Y-Yeah..." you stutter out, unsure if talking to a stranger in a strange place is the best idea.

He looks at you, focusing his gaze on you. You can almost feel the deep set eyes burning into your soul.

"U-Uh... S-Sir...? Why are you-"

His stare grows harder before he looks away, letting out a sigh.

"Are you not a Halovian?"

"Ha-what? Is that some different title for a Sankta?"

"Sankta...?" he whispers under his breath. "You have a halo."

"Y-Yeah... I do..."

"So are you not a Halovian?"

"No."

His eyes seem to sharpen and a small scowl crosses his body.

He steps closer to you. You have no idea what he plans to do until-

He reaches out and touches your halo. You can't help but yelp at the cool touch from his gloved hands.

"So you can feel my touch."

You swat his hand.

"Of course I can!"

"Interesting..."

You push his away, trying to make space.

"A-Anyway, sir, do you know where I am?"

The man tilts his head confused.

"You're in Penacony."

"Pena-wha-? What's with all these names?! Never mind... D-Do you know how I got here?"

"... Did you not enter a dream pool?"

"Dream pool?! Are you-" you shake your head, now is not the time to be rude to someone, "No, no I didn't. The last thing I remember was being on the Rhodes Island Land Ship and going to take a nap."

"Rhodes Island...? I've never heard of that."

"What? Even very secluded people know of Rhodes Island..."

The man hums slightly.

"Interesting... it seems as though... we have a stowaway..."

"Stowaway?! I didn't even mean to come here!"

"Yes, I can clearly see that, however I still need to take you into custody for the protection of the Family and the citizens of Penacony. Though, as a head of the Family myself, I will be taking you with me. It's best if no one else knows of this, it might cause anxiety amongst the people."

"So I'm getting arrested... cool. Doctor, when I get back, you're getting kicked."

❥ Sunday doesn't understand how or why you got here. He monitors the coming and going of every person that enters the dreamscape, and the reverie.

❥ Sunday is confused. He tried to communicate with you through telepathy to keep the conversation privet, yet... you couldn't connect to him.

❥ Sunday keeps you under custody. That custody, however, his by his side at all times. He wants to understand what is with you.

❥ Sunday, who's every thought is slowing shifting to figuring you out. How did you come here? Where are you from? Why do you also have a halo? Why do you know nothing of Aeons and Paths?

❥ Sunday who can't help but itch wanting to pick you apart.

❥ Sunday who doesn't want to let you go, because if you do, he fears he may never see you again, he may never figure out this mystery.

also my worst ifrit headcanon is that the stuff she's yelling during a battle is stuff that was said to her at Haydn and Rhine. So.

I think it is neat that there are multiple shadow users on Rhodes, and yet they represent different aspects of shadows.

Phantom's theme is theater, and, especially if you are familiar with Persona series, it is easy to see his shadows as Jungian: shadows are our own feelings we hide behind the mask, so Phantom's shadow manifests as a doppelganger.

Ascalon is an assassin working for an authority figure. She represents how shadows need a light source to be formed.

Ines's character is about fitting in with others, like how a shadow mimics the object that creates it.

All three have someone who they shadow. For Phantom, it's himself. For Ascalon, it's Theresa/Kal'tsit. For Ines, it's Hoederer. All three are some kind of a spy and/or killer ("working from the shadows") with a red/black/white colour scheme (this is probably incidental…), who experienced violence since their child/teenager-hood (they grew up mimicking people around them). Their aspects aren't exclusive either; for example, this is why Ines can glimpse intent from the shadows, which is more fitting with Phantom's definition.

Ok, headcanon ask: one (non-Lingering Echoes) Arknights operator that you think Czerny would get along well with, and one you think he'd clash with?

Ooooh, a good question! Let's see...

For an operator he'd get along with, my surprise answer is actually Rope! My headcanon is that they initially meet when Rope gets asked by the medical team to check on Czerny while she's up in the vents, making sure he hasn't passed out while composing. Once he catches on to this and the two get to talking, they bond over the similarities in their backstories (rough and poor neighborhood, loss of family, the ravages of Oripathy, and the depths they had to stoop to in order to survive). As friends, they openly banter and check in on each other. Rope is one of the few who can drag Czerny away from his desk, and in exchange Czerny sets aside extra tins of hand cream for her to "steal". They generally great each other with "Not dead yet?" much to the confusion of many.

As for an operator he'd clash with... Silverash reminds him way, waaaaay too much of the nobles back in Leithanien, and everything about the man sets Czerny on edge. He won't even talk music with the man if he can help it. The feeling seems to be mutual; though Silverash initially kept up his cool demeanor around Czerny, it turns out these two are skilled at pushing each other's buttons in the worst ways, with one incident nearly coming to blows. Now Silverash is downright frosty whenever Czerny is around, and prefers any communications be done through Matterhorn or Courier if they must occur at all.

That was a fun one to consider, so thank you!

Hello Soren!! First of all, thank you for allowing me to go ham about the enciodes headcanons I have cooked up in my head. And second of all - bingo, yes there are going to be hcs about the silverash siblings!! (these headcanons can account for the main dish as well, hehe) rubs my hands together ehehehe, anyway without further ado!!

enciodes + silverash siblings headcanons:

when the Silverashes were younger, Enciodes would play the role of the tooth fairy whenever Enya (Pramanix) or Ensia (Cliffheart) were changing teeth. He would sneak a gold sovereign (real of course, because they are wealthy) underneath their pillow(s) when his sister(s) were deep within the confines of dreamland

Growing up with two sisters, it was hard to not get dragged into their games so Enciodes often found himself playing house with Enya or hosting a tea party for dolls alongside Ensia

Looking back on those times, Enciodes often lamented if they could ever go back to the way they were - close as any trio of siblings could be, no secrets lingering between them and just them against the rest of the world. But he knew better - things have changed.

However, that still doesn't stop him from trying to at least mend his relationship with Enya. He expresses his concern for his sister through little things he does - having courier deliver her favourite sweets to her even if she didn't say a thing about her recent cravings, paying her surprise visits to drop little trinkets that he knows she would like directly into her hands when things weren't too hectic back at the Karlan Trade and the like.

As for Ensia, I think he would make an effort to accompany her on her mountain climbing trips more often to both spend quality time with her and get some exercise; in return, he teaches her some tricks of his expertise (mainly trading) and skills on how to secure a solid victory in chess. Knowing her penchant for mischief, he just sighs and chuckles whenever she tries to pull a prank on him and succeeds.
