feelings about buffy summers as a character?

my hero and savior, my bestest friend in the universe, and my GIRL. buffy summers died for our sins. i am loving how fucked up she is in season 6 after having been resurrected. aren’t you tired of being nice!!! don’t you just want to go ape shitt!!!!!! saddest loneliest girl in the universe. i think across all the seasons, the most interesting relationship to track is buffy & willow’s relationship. seeing how it evolves, how they drift apart or draw closer together, and what that says about where they both are in their respective journeys. in seasons 4 and 5 their relationship kind of took a backseat, but now in season 6 i think their dynamic is necessarily highlighted because willow brought buffy back to life and buffy wishes she hadn’t. and how messed up is that!!!!!! i have such sympathy for buffy taking comfort in spike’s company even as she treats him so cruelly and in a way that is truly a stain on her soul. she has nobody else she feels she can turn to and she is just doing her best. she’s just trying to survive. she just wants to live!!!!!!!!

It just completely sucks because like after years of giving them the benefit of a doubt and like “yeah they’re super religious but they aren’t HATEFUL” but feeling totally disconnected from them and like I’d never be accepted by them, i go out a limb and REALLY give them that benefit and go “well they’re not hateful so this could go better than i think:)” and it went exactly the way i thought it would, and worse, because i got harassed by my father for two months while my mother still has not said anything. I completely went out on a limb and was open and honest and even afterwards, after their initial bad reaction (they didn’t say I love you or goodbye after I left or anything, by the way) I wrote this really open and honest and heartfelt letter where I STILL tried to give them the benefit of a doubt and think “surely they will understand me” and you know what I got back? The most insane dog pile of shit you could imagine. Plus the two months’ harassment. Taught me my whole life’s assumptions were correct and I could never be open and honest with my parents about serious things and things that are important to me ever because they would ALWAYS vilify and misconstrue them. The plus side to this is that now I know that warning them ahead of time about big things doesn’t work, if I ever get into a visibly queer relationship I’m not telling. I’m just showing up to Christmas with them. Since forewarning doesn’t work you know. Surprise!!

Ok so I’m addicted to pairing up characters that don’t interact much in canon but i think would have an interesting dynamic and todays episode is Shinobu and Sanemi

Idk if Sanemi and Kanae were a thing in canon or smthn? but I see a lot of people shipping them, so I think he probably knew Shinobu before Kanae’s death. They probably had sort of a “love to hate you” kind of almost sibling rivalry dynamic back when Shinobu like. Showed emotions. Then after Kanae’s death I bet he almost misses the way they used to bicker but still admires Shinobu for trying to keep Kanae’s spirit in mind. They both have such clear anger problems but in completely different directions I literally want to chew on it like a teething ring.

I just adore the idea of Shinobu trying to encourage Sanemi to play nice and Sanemi is basically “aren’t you tired of being nice?? Don’t you just want to go ape shitt??”
