y’all have GOT to stop projecting your weird love boner onto Buck and Tommy. Buck doesn't likes that guy. He thinks he’s ugly. Kenny says he's ugly. Chimney and Tommy are not friends come on people. And Hen… you can read that deleted scene however you like (personally I think she was manipulating him because I have coworkers exactly like her and those expressions are screaming “I'll stab you straight in your heart.”) but as far as canon goes the entire point of Hen Begins is that Tommy and Maurice try to kill Hen— which directly leads into him hating Hen enough to fly into a hurricane for her in hopes to adopt her kids when she mysteriously goes missing.

Edit: I’ve realized this is a response to an earlier post about Chim and Hen. This one is suuuuuper believable. Yup. Mmhmmm.

the most difficult thing about growing as a person socially, as in getting out of your shell and noticing that you are, is that there will still be times when it doesn’t feel like you’ve grown at all! times when you can’t really connect with anyone around you, times when you fail to enter into an existing conversation, times when you say the wrong thing (or nothing at all when in hindsight you probably should’ve). but that’s also kind of the best thing, because that’s the thing that helps you realize that sometimes, it’s not you or your lack of skills or any shortcoming. sometimes certain environments just aren’t for you and certain people aren’t your people, and that’s okay. that’s human. it’s okay to not feel the progress you have made all the time.

rip to anyone thinking the show has nothing left to give like did you not listen to djenks when he said he has a 3 series arc in mind, did you not see ed gazing at stede during lucius and pete’s wedding because that man wants to put a ring on it so bad, were you not there when zheng very loudly said she wants to find ricky and kill him for what he did, do you think they can just slaughter a dozen british and escape by the skin of their teeth and that be the end of it? there is still a giant fucking looming threat to the pirates and it will absolutely extend to ed and stede’s ramshackle inn whether they think they’ve truly retired or not (not to mention the new conflicts they’ll face trying to get this new venture up and running, that will be a sitcom in of itself). anyway revenge is still on the water and i don’t just mean the ship and i cannot wait to see how it all goes down. praying we actually get to.

okay but. I genuinely get confused sometimes when people say that House MD is homophobic. They had a canon bisexual character in fucking 2007. two thousand and SEVEN. they said the word bisexual on CABLE TV in 2007. WHEN GEORGE FUCKING BUSH WAS STILL IN OFFICE. (I do not think a lot people who are younger and newer watchers-- and I'm on the CUSP. I'm pushing it, b/c I was born in 2000, but I do remember 2007-- quite get the gravity of that. I barely comprehend the significance of it myself because I was seven in 2007.) Then in 2009 they had her say, "Do you understand what bisexual means? It doesn't mean you have sex with two people at once." And then in 2012 she gets the happiest possible ending and ends up traveling the world with the woman she loves!! I know it wasn't perfect and they had so many limitations b/c of the time period, especially compared to today. but goddamn. homophobic? I just cannot comprehend.

Also? I know we get plenty of rep thanks to streaming services nowadays. But I think it's worth pointing out that it would still be a huge feat TODAY to have a main character of a show be bisexual, and use that word for themselves, on primetime cable television. The last time I remember that happening was when Rosa came out on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. And Fox cancelled the show at the end of that very same season.

i saw this tweet and found it interesting for two reasons. one is that some people base how good cartoon network would be to toh by how it treated su, and despite the fact that su’s treatment by the network was considered poor at the time, now its thought to be exceptionally good in comparison to modern shows.

two is how exactly su got impacted by a limited budget. a common criticism is how characters like connie, peridot, and lapis are left out of missions. but balancing a lot of characters is not only hard but also costly (extra animation, extra voices—it’s been revealed that the show is limited to a set number of characters per episode otherwise they’re over budget). animation mistakes are not uncommon since retakes cost extra. the entire reason the original show got cut short was due to loss of funding!

you know, a big reason i kinda drifted away from the phandom last year was because of how prevalent dp x dc content had become. at the time, i was more of a marvel girlie and i didn’t know much about the batfam or dc content in general. but this year during my (somewhat unintentional) hiatus i coincidentally got really into superman media, which then spiraled into an interest in the batfam and dc as whole and oh god I GET IT NOW
