It's time… to get your spook on! We know how much this town loves Halloween, so we've rounded up as many Merrockites as possible to get fun things happening in town, whether it be movies, spooky fun activities, party nights, or anything that your haunted little hearts desire.

Please note: for the kids, trick-or-treat will still be happening on Halloween (October 31st), so make sure that you have candy ready to go, to treat them right! Or else… you might find yourself getting a trick. You can go door to door, do the trunk-or-treat, or head to the nursing home to get candy!

Fun little spooky season questions! (bit late but shhh)

🎃: Would you rather carve pumpkins or paint them? Both!! I never got the chance to do either and I'd love to try!

👻: Have you ever had a paranormal experience? (Ghost, poltergeist, demon, etc) A few! I might go more in dept into that in another post if I get the spoons

😈: What is your absolute favorite Halloween costume you've ever worn? Probably the closet cosplay of Beetlejuice I improvised in 2019 or the skeleton I did- I just wore a gothic outfit and painted bones on my skin basically, but I really liked my skull make-up!

🍁: What is your favorite part about the Halloween season? The spiritual aspect, the horror movies (not all of them though), the spooky aesthetic in general ^^

🍂: Do you like pumpkin pie? If not, what's your favorite pie? I don't like the taste of pumpkin in general- I like most fruity pies tbh, but I think my favourite would be a simple berry pie.

🌻: What's your favorite Halloween treat? (Caramel apples, candy corn, a certain chocolate bar, etc!) I'd love to taste caramel apples, but I've never had the chance! I usually get the weird Halloween candy like the eyeballs and all though!

I also like trying to watch new horror movies while staying in my limits- though I have to figure out where it is for gore still This Halloween season I'm planning to watch Scream and make my lover discover the second It movie (I made her discover the first one last year and we didn't get the chance to watch the second one together yet)

🕯️: Do you prefer haunted houses or haunted mazes? Both! I'm pretty easily scared but I love being a scare actor and I do love scaring myself so i love doing this kind of stuff!

From what I'm seeing it's a bit like the Christmas movies I used to watch as a kid but for Halloween?? I had no idea that this genre existed and I'm definitely going to give it a try!

⛓️: An iconic Halloween / spooky season memory of yours? I usually go to tale walks, where you go for a little walk and along the way meet actors that tell a story along with scare actors; or I go to spooky or esoteric markets if I can find some!

A spicy six autumn drabble 🍁

Robin is a cold weather queen. She has so many jackets, sweaters, hoodies and hats that there’s not enough space in her closet for anything else, and even during the summer she can’t help but buy warm clothes at the thrift shop because they’re just so cute. She always says that she’ll save them for the cold months

And when October rolls around, she does! She cycles through them every day and is always letting her friends borrow them. She’ll crawl through their windows if she doesn’t get them back, though (except for Nancy, who can keep whatever she wants).

Eddie is a winter warlock, wearing the same things all year round because his style is too important to let slip just because of a little cold weather. He just layers up, but when they’re at home he likes to wear Steve’s hoodies

Steve has one winter coat that he only wears when it gets to a dangerous level of cold. Until then he just wears his jackets, and he has a few of Robin’s things in his closet as well. He’s the type to be bothered by the cold easily, but doesn’t say anything until he’s noticeably grumpy and shivering

When Argyle comes to visit it’s of course much colder than what he’s used to, but he has a lot of fun shopping for warmer clothes. He’s also a thrift king and has a knack for finding his favorite threads at discount prices, and even finds something for all the Byers’

The gang goes to a corn maze at a pumpkin patch because it’s an integral part of the autumn experience. Steve had never been to one before, and the others like to use the position of the sun to make their way around it

They all go through the tame one together, but only the boys go through the haunted one because Nancy’s anxiety is really bad after Vecna and Robin only likes jump scares in movies. They hang back and hold hands on the hayride, Nancy looking absolutely adorable in Robin’s oversized clothes with her favorite patches stitched onto them.

Jonathan, Argyle, and Eddie are all stoned, and after each round of events they keep sneaking off to pass around a joint. Steve’s left himself out of that equation because he doesn’t like to get high in public

Argyle softly, but passionately lectured Eddie about littering when he saw Eddie toss his paper cider cup on the ground in the maze, and now he and Jonathan are separated from the group because they kept drifting off to shove other people’s litter in their pockets

As much as Eddie and Steve would love to take a different turn from the girls to find a spot in the maze to make out, Nancy isn’t willing to let anyone else out of her sight, so they stick together. She only let Jonathan and Argyle slip off because Argyle’s sense of direction is at an incredible level, and she knows they’ll find their way back

Eventually the group makes their way out of the maze and goes to the pumpkin patch to find their favorite pumpkins. Jonathan takes pictures of everyone and tasks Argyle with finding his pumpkin for him

Eddie decides that he needs the biggest one in the patch, and after hearing that they’re priced by weight, Steve offers to pay for both of theirs. Nancy gets to ride in the wheelbarrow with it and offer judgement on the other options. Steve is pushing the wheelbarrow

Steve and the girls pick modestly sized pumpkins that they deem the prettiest, and Argyle purposely picks the “flawed ones”. Nature’s paintbrush could never paint something ugly, and he likes the ones that are misshapen and have color variations

They carve the pumpkins at the Byers’ house. Joyce and Hopper are going on a date, and before they leave Hopper points a finger at the boys and says with a stern face, “Don’t smoke pot in my house,” while Joyce is out of earshot. So they smoke on the back porch

Jonathan had picked out pumpkins for Will and El, and they join in on the carving. Will takes the longest with his because he’s an artist and gets way too wrapped up in the process. El goes for the classic jack-o-lantern design

Nancy and Robin take on the task of carving each other’s likenesses in their pumpkins and don’t show each other until they’re done. They make adorable, knowing faces at each other the whole time

Eddie carves the most monstrous looking pumpkin they’ve ever seen. He makes a big show of pulling out its guts with his hands and screaming bloody murder. It doesn’t last too long because Will goes kind of pale while he works and Eddie can take a hint, even if he ignores Nancy’s eye-roll

Argyle carves mushrooms into his with the knowledge that they’ll have a mystical glow when he puts the candle in

Steve isn’t too worried about design. He’s had such a good day that he just gives his pumpkin a happy face to reflect his mood, but he does give it eyebrows

By the time they’re all done, the dining table and floor are both covered with newspaper and pumpkin entrails. Steve and Jonathan clean up, talking in hushed voices about how their lives have changed for the better while the others are discussing who has the best pumpkin

hey hello!! maple leaf hmm im a sucker for autumn and falling leaves so i must submit to my calling! please indulge me as i unload some pre-kl angsty keith unrequited (or so he thinks) pining. this kind of just turned into a full-on fic so uhhh sorry about that heh:

Allura has, obviously, never been to Earth before. She has never had the quintessential American autumn experience: leaf-peeping, hay rides, pumpkin-picking, apple cider, corn mazes, candle huffing, haunted houses—that type of thing, from what Keith knows of the subject. Which is admittedly kind of limited.

Lance is absolutely thrilled at the notion that he gets to introduce her to all of it. He clearly loves the idea of being the cool guy who gets to show an alien space princess an important facet of his lived experience here on Earth. As soon as the notion strikes him, one day while the team is scattered about their shared common room at the Garrison, he makes plans to take her on a tour. She is fascinated by the suggestion and immediately agrees—even expresses a particular excitement at the idea of getting to try out trendy fall Earth fashion.

Surprising absolutely no one, least of all Keith, Lance avidly encourages this and pulls out a phone to start making plans to wear matching outfits. (Allura seems to like the “dark academia” look, and Lance is more than happy to take her out shopping and also get some use out of his own turtlenecks.)

Keith, meanwhile, finds himself sitting across the table from them, watching this all go down, feeling bitter and sorry for himself. He’s a big gay idiot—he knows that—and, well. Sue him. He has to watch the man he loves make date plans with his crush. It’s hard. And for some reason, for some big gay idiot reason, because he must be a masochist or something, because he’s feeling so unreasonably grumpy and petulant about the whole thing, because he should be happy that Lance is happy and he hates that he’s just upset instead because what kind of dickish friend is he—

He says, “I’ve never seen any of that before either.”

And he wants to kick himself for saying it as soon as the words are out of his mouth, because he’s intruding on something that is not meant for him, and he’s such an asshole for trying to insinuate himself where he clearly doesn’t belong, and he’s also a liar because unlike Allura he has at least seen all of this stuff in movies and books and pictures so it’s not really a novelty for him the way it is for her, and now it’s like he’s trying to take something precious from her and from Lance, and he’s such an asshole and also so obvious and unsubtle.

It’s painful. He is in pain. Pain is in him.

He expects Lance to quip something snarky back at him, or to tell him to butt out, or to give him the “not cool bro” signal or—or something.

But Lance just lights up like a damned Christmas tree and leans over the table and says, “Really?! Dude, you’ve gotta come with!”

And the next thing Keith knows he’s being dragged by both his crush and an alien princess into Lance’s closet so that they can figure out his own matching ensemble for their weekend getaway to New England. He and Lance are basically the same size at this point, with a bit of variation in the details, so it’s an ordeal but not an unsuccessful one. The shirts are a little too loose around the shoulders—God, Lance and his smooth, wide shoulders—and a little too tight around the waist and arms, but they make it work.

Besides, Keith can’t help but feel a flicker of pride—misplaced, probably, but who cares—at the way Lance’s face goes a bit red at the sight of him. It’s probably nothing. But Keith is a fool and so he allows himself to entertain the frankly ridiculous fantasy that perhaps Lance likes the look of him in these clothes.

When the time comes, it’s a whole lot more complicated than Keith was anticipating—this is Lance, of course, so there’s a whole detailed itinerary of all the things they absolutely must do at every hour of each day of their weekend mini-vacation. Keith doesn’t know what the hell is in store for him and doesn’t really care; he trusts Lance to lead the way. And also he would much rather dig a hand into the roadtrip potato chip bag and lose himself in carbs than stress over a schedule that he knows is probably going to get messed up anyway because both Lance and Allura will be immediately distracted every time they set eyes on something fun or interesting or pretty. (But who is he to criticize when he himself is so often distracted by Lance.)

Anyway, he’s not really sure why Lance insisted on roadtrip snacks. It takes like a minute to get to Massachusetts in the Black Lion. But whatever; he knows better than to ask questions when Lance gets focused like this.

The trip ends up being remarkably enjoyable, actually. Keith expects it to be agonizing—he thinks he’s going to have to watch Lance drool over Allura the whole time while he third-wheels and follows them around carrying all their stuff—but the reality is a pleasant surprise. Keith hadn’t really noticed it until now, but there is something different about the way Lance and Allura interact these days. It’s less uncomfortable than Keith remembers. It feels more—natural, he supposes. And most astonishingly, it includes him as an equal and welcome part of the dynamic. Strange.

He notices it in the way Lance throws an arm around both him and Allura as they walk up a winding cobblestone street; in the way Allura says, “Boys, come here! Smell this candle! It’s called ‘pumpuh-kin spihsee’!” and beckons them both in close; in the way Lance asks a stranger to take their picture in front of a quaint old churchyard and, when Keith lingers awkwardly out of frame, calls him over and tucks him tightly in between himself and Allura.

It’s... fun. It’s so much fun. Keith is having so. Much. Fun.

He loves being able to share cider donuts with them. Instead of fighting over who gets the last one, like he thinks he would have been inclined to do once upon a time, they each keep biting it in half, smaller and smaller, and force the next person to do the same until they’re all nibbling tiny bites off of a pathetic little crumb. (Keith loses this game when he swallows the final piece because Lance leans in too close and brushes a sprinkle of sugar from his cheek. Not his proudest moment. He ends up having to pay for dinner.)

He loves being able to make fun of the silly ghost tour guide with them, mocking the dramatic affectation of his voice as he tells a story so obviously fake that it nearly brings them to tears. At least until the wind blows a door open so fast that Lance shrieks and jumps into Allura’s arms, at which point they really are overcome by tears—with the exception of Lance, of course, who just pouts at them both for a solid minute while he waits for them to recover from their laughter.

He really loves them. Not both in the same way, or with the same intentions—but he does. He loves them. And he loves this. And he is so glad he gets to experience it. So glad he didn’t submit to his urge to sulk and pine and grouse over his feelings for Lance. Because this is something precious, and he would be a fool to compromise it.

And no, it certainly isn’t the worst thing in the world, when they’re sitting on a pile of hay getting towed along by a rusty red tractor through the woodsy outskirts of a small farm, the way Lance curls his fingers through Keith’s and pulls their joined hands onto his lap, or the way Allura’s head droops to rest on Keith’s shoulder, while the three of them lounge together in the fading evening light.

“I love you both,” Allura mumbles drowsily into Keith’s borrowed sweater as he loops his arm around her back.  “Very much so.”

Lance’s thumb rubs along the back of Keith’s hand.  “Me too,” he says, turning to look at Keith with a gaze that could only be described as buttery soft.

Keith holds it for a moment, willing it to melt into his mind forever, then feels himself smile, slow and gentle, as he leans his head back against the hay and looks up.  The first stars of the night have emerged to kiss the sky above.  He tugs his friends just a little closer.

Xemnas - Go for a late-night walk in the cemetery - Is it totally creepy at night? Yes. Do you both love it? Absolutely! There’s something special in the air on halloween night, maybe it was wayward spirits or the sense of mischief in the air, but whatever it is, it’s positively enthralling. The two of you walk amongst the graves, basking in the brightness of the moonlight and talking of your plans for the future. Hearing Xemnas talk of his goals is one of the many reasons you fell in love with him in the first place, after all. And if that weren’t good enough, the superior even takes a little extra time to surprise you with a small picnic set up under an old willow tree. There, the two of you eat lit only by a single candle and the full moon, until you decide to lay down and look at the sky until your eyes grow heavy.

Xigbar - Watch a Scary Movie at the Drive-In! - Xigbar likes to think of himself as a cool guy, and what would be cooler than picking up his sweetheart and taking them to scary movies at the drive-in? Watching a scary flick on the big screen is fun, but what’s even better is you holding him close to you when you are scared!! Score!! And when the movie is over, Xigbar might drive you both up to “make-out point” and well.. You know.. Best not hope there aren’t any psycho killers in the woods that night!!! You don’t want to end up in the sequel!

Xaldin - Build a Fire and Tell Ghost Stories - Camping out in the woods on Halloween night? Most people would say that doing so would be a terrible idea. BUT NOT YOU AND XALDIN! Camping on a cool fall night like Halloween is an absolute dream, and the two of you have the entire night to yourselves with no one else to bother you. Curled up together in front of the warm fire, now the real fun begins. You start to pass around your flashlight, telling stories and doing your best to scare the other until the end of the night when you are too scared to sleep alone. You curl up in Xaldin’s sleeping bag, resting your head on his shoulder as you ask him to protect you. You can literally feel his pride swell as you curl into him, as he longs to to protect you from what bumps in the night.

Vexen - Set Up Your Own Haunted House - Well, At first, Vexen didn’t feel that Halloween was a good enough excuse to be leaving his lab, so in your stubbornness, you decided to bring Halloween to him. You proceeded to sneak into the lab during the few hours that Vexen was not around, covering the walls in countless halloween decorations. Needless to day, Vexen was not particularly pleased at first at your redecoration. In fact he was furious. But as the day went one and he watched all of his fellow organization members coming to see ‘the haunted lab’, he couldn't help but see how happy scaring your fellow members was making you. And by the end of the night, he may or may not have stolen some of your fake blood and scared Demyx so badly he nearly soiled his trousers. Maybe taking a day off for Halloween wasn’t so bad after all.

Lexaeus - Make Decorated Halloween Cookies - Ohhh!!!! Baking is one of your favorite shared activities, and making fun halloween shapes is an absolute blast! You started with a basic sugar, something fun and easy, making shapes like ghosts and pumpkins! Working with Royal icing for the first time was a bit of a challenge, but you were able to figure it out after a few less than perfect tests. More and more cookies go into the oven, the warm smells drawing in everyone in the castle at least once to see where the aromas came from. By the end of the night, you are both covered in flower and grinning ear to ear as everyone has a taste of your treats!

Zexion - Have a horror movie marathon - Curled up in the dark Room, Zexion waited for you. The table was covered with candles and snack foods of all sorts. Neither of you were huge movie buffs, but after weeks of being hounded by the other members to watch a series of movies you hadn’t even heard of before, you eventually caved into trying something new. At first, you started with a classic slasher fic, you know.. With the teenagers having sex and then WHAM serial killer. You didn’t need to know horror movies to know how it would go, but you still jumped and clung to Zexion as hard as you could. The more and more movies you played, you became comfortable and snuggled close under the blankets with Zexion. Eventually, his hands started to wander, either uninterested by the film or simply unable to resist you. Either way, you didn’t pay much to the movies after that.

Saix - Get Spooked at a Haunted House - At first you thought it would be a great idea to go to a haunted house with your sweetheart, though Saix didn’t seem to agree. At first it was smooth sailing, walking through the house and jumping at the occasional spider prop or ghost puppet, until the first performer came through. The man wielded a chainsaw and charged your way, earning a squeal from you. Saix immediately moved to defend you, and in doing so, looked so intense that the chainsaw wielding man stopped in his tracks. “Woah, dude! You’re terrifying dude! Who did your makeup? Hey, Charlie! Get in here!!” in a matter of minutes, half of the cast of this haunted house, zombies and spirits alike, were in the room with you, complimenting how absolutely terrifying your boyfriend looked. And While he seemed unamused at their gawking, you could swear you saw a little smirk on his lips. Definitely not what you expected, but this certainly was a fun night of surprises!

Axel - Do a Late-Night Corn Maze! - Because who doesn’t love getting lost in the dark! No for real though, you thought you wouldn’t like the maze, but with every step, you and Axel had lots of fun! He even brought some flashlights and snacks to enjoy along the walk! Though as you walk farther along the trail, Axel decides it’s the perfect moment to regale you with a story, one about a couple that got lost on this very trail. It’s a good story, and you know he is trying to scare you but it won’t work until-- What was that??? You turn around and look for the source of the sound, but as soon as you turn back-- GOTCHA!! You scream. Loud. And all you can hear is Axel’s piercing laughter. Oh he got you good. You give him a punch in the arm, perhaps a little too hard. This maze wasn’t over yet and you were determined to get him back.

Demyx - Carve Pumpkins! - Man, trusting Demyx with a knife worried you at first, but every step was a barrel of fun! Scooping out the pumpkin was really messy and watching Demyx scream as he stuck his arm inside his pumpkin was an absolute riot. Pumpkin guts got everywhere, and then you had to CARVE the thing! Demyx quickly grew tired of actually carving his pumpkin, and simply drew a smiley face on the outside with a sharpie, but upon seeing the pumpkin you carved, he is utterly FLOORED. Suddenly, he is lifting the gourd up and carrying it around the castle, so proud of your work and bragging it to everyone in the castle!

Luxord - Take a Haunted Ghost Tour - A lot of “haunted” cities have these, but they are essentially a night of visiting actual haunted sites like houses and graveyards accompanied by a guide! And while you might not see any paranormal activity on your tour, hearing the tales of each stop is absolutely fascinating! And while this isn’t a ‘traditional’ halloween date, you and Luxord have a terribly good time learning! Though Luxord having a canteen of hot cider and a hip flask of bourbon definitely helped.

Marluxia - Plan or make your own Halloween costumes! - If ANYONE loves a good dressing up, it’s Marluxia! After one very LONG trip to the costume store to buy accessories, the entire night became a movie style makeover montage! Each of you pulled clothes out from your closet and box of accessories to make as many original looks as possible, doing each other's makeup and playing some fun spooky songs in the background! It was a total blast!! And when you’re both tucked out from your costume adventure, you both curl up in your most comfortable looks and watch as many episodes of The X-Files as you can before falling asleep in bed.

Larxene - Go Apple Picking - At first, Larxene wasn’t extremely interested in apple picking, saying that it was a lot of hiking for some heavy apples, but something about dressing in matching flannels and seeing how much there was to do seemed to change her mind. After picking a good amount of apples, (And Larxene showing up any dude that was trying to pick apples by zapping them out of trees) the two of you decided to hit up the small festival outside of the orchard. Among the stalls there were different kinds of foods and drinks for sale which you tried and loved! You never were able to eat all of the apples you picked, but eventually shared them with the rest of the organization so that they didn’t go bad.

Roxas - Celebrate Mischief Night! - You didn’t know about mischief night until Axel and Roxas told you about it, but apparently it is the night when the youths of twilight town ran amuck with pranks of all sorts! And how could you say no to that! At first the two of you started in twilight town, joining with the other children as they draw on the streets and egg houses. The adrenalin filled you as you ran from angry store clerks and fled in the woods. There was no way they would find you now. But as you walked through the woods, it became painfully apparent that you were becoming lost, until you and Roxas came across a large mansion in the woods. You could stay there until morning to go home, but the mischievous glint in Roxas’s eye begged to differ. Suddenly your rolls of toilet paper were flying as you TP’d the mansion with sniper-like accuracy. It was so fun you nearly fell over in laughter before opening a portal back home, leaving the mysterious mansion behind. As you left, you wondered what it held, but knew that you would probably never know.

Xion - Go Trick or Treating! - Are you two a little old for trick-or-treating? Maybe so, but it is so much fun to dress up in fun costumes and collect candy! Xion is so small and cute, no one would raise any questions as to if she were too old or not. And after a whole evening of running from house to house, collecting so much candy that your pillowcases are full, you both retire back home to curl up together, watch a spooky movie, and trade candy all night! (Or until she falls asleep next to you!)

Kei startles when a hand smacks onto the table inches from his face.

“Hinata,” he says irritatedly.  “What do you want?”

Hinata grins and pats his hands against the table a few times in excitement, drawing Kei’s attention to the paper on the table.  It’s crumpled and crinkled like Hinata has folded and unfolded it a bunch of times.

“You.  Me.  Date.”  Kei raises his brows.  “C’mon Tsukishima,” Hinata pouts.  “I wanna go on a fun, cute date.  With you.”

Kei tugs the sheet of paper from Hinata’s hand with only a little resistance and skims through it.  It’s a list of date ideas.  Some of them clearly not Hinata’s ideas judging by the fact that Kei recognizes Kageyama and Kenma’s handwritings and the fact that he knows Hinata wouldn’t come up with ‘sit under a blanket and ignore the world’ by himself.

Hinata licks his lips and shrugs when Kei looks at him.  “I dunno,” he mumbles.  “I just wanted to do something fun with you.”

“Well,” Kei sighs.  “Apple picking would be a cute date, if only you were a little taller.”

Hinata gasps and tries to yank the paper back, sputtering and huffing at Kei.  Kei just raises his brows and tilts his head, waiting until Hinata runs out of steam and slowly sinks into the chair across from Kei, fingers still twitching and trying tug the paper back.

“Are you done now?”  Hinata huffs one last time and nods.  “I didn’t say no.”  He tugs at the paper until Hinata lets go of it.  He scribbles down a new idea and slides it back to Hinata.  “How about this?”

Haunted House w/ Yamaguchi & Oikawa, walk through the park & look at the stars, scary movies and hot chocolate, tonight 5PM

Hinata looks at him with bright eyes.  “Seriously?  I know you have a lot going on right now with classes and stuff.”

“Seriously.  Go raid my closet for whatever sweater or jacket you’re going to steal anyway and dig out my scarf while you’re in there.  We have to meet them at the Haunted House by 5 or Oikawa will go in without us and then we’ll have to listen to him whine for the next year or so.”

“You’re the best!”  

Hinata launches himself out of the chair and flies down the hallway.  Kei listens to him rummaging around in the closet and jots down a few final notes on his project.  He sends Tadashi a message that they’ll be leaving soon when he hears Hinata’s shout of excitement.

He mutters a distracted thank you when Hinata tosses the scarf over his shoulder while he’s trying to decipher the string of emojis and letters that Oikawa just sent him.

“Do you have any idea what this means?”  He hands Hinata his phone and goes to slip into his shoes and grab his jacket.  When he’s gotten into his things and wrapped his scarf around his neck and Hinata hasn’t left the kitchen he heads to see what’s going on and finds Hinata standing where he left him, staring down at Kei’s phone.  “Why are you just standing there?”

“You told Oikawa you love me.”

Kei grabs his phone, barely even glancing at the conversation before he shoves the phone in his pocket.

“So?  I tell you I love you all the time.”

Hinata grins up at him, cheeks flushed.  “Yeah but you told him, you told someone else.”

“Was I not supposed to?”

“No.  It just.  It just makes me really happy.  You know.  That you tell other people.”

“If you ever doubt that I love you just ask for my phone.  It’s disgustingly cheesy but I talk about you way too much.”  He pulls Hinata into a hug and kisses the top of his fluffy head.  “Now let’s go.  We’ve got a date night to get to.”

🌽Corn Maze🌽

It was the last class of the week for all four of the boys. Joey’s history class was watching a movie for free day. He couldn’t wait for school to be over because they were all going to the corn maze. It was the perfect autumn day to go. The sun was hiding behind the clouds and the the air was cool.

Over the lunch periods earlier, the boys had texted about it and decided to go today after school do to it be storming tomorrow then going over to Joey’s parents house.

Norman has been watching the clock all class. It was easy given the fact that it was algebra and he hated algebra. Once the last minute ticked Norman started stuffing his notebook and text book in his bag.

Once they bell rang Norman got up, swinging his bag around his shoulder and went down the hall to the band room where his boyfriends last class is.

Sammy delicately places his violin in his case and added the bow then closing and locking the case before putting the case on a shelf. He grabbed his book bag and went out to meet with Norman then his other friends for the corn maze.

Joey meet Henry at his locker putting his books away. “Hey Henry.” Joey leans on the locker next to his.

“Hey jojo.” Henry closes his locker and gave Joey a kiss.

“You ready for fun?” Joey ask after they finished.

“Oh I am!” Henry sighs in relief. “I worked my ass off all week on these assignments and projects!”

“Aww!” Joey wrapped his arm around Henry’s shoulder. “Let’s go have mindless fun now.” Henry nodded, leaning in some as they walked to Joey’s car.

They two couples meet out side by Joey’s rich parents car and all piled in. Joey started the car and drove out of the parking lot. His left hand on the wheel and his right in Henry’s hand. Joey glances in the mirror and peaks at the two in back.

Sammy was cuddled in the arms of Norman and was reading a book appropriate to the season. Norman might have been reading it to. Joey smiled and glances back to the road.

In no time Joey pulled up into a parking spot and killed the Engine then getting out with Henry and Norman. Sammy put his book mark on his page and closes it, clawing out to.

“Ohh I see the corn maze!” Joey said excited.

They could all see the corn maze in the vary back. there was also a filled of pumpkins you could buy, an area were you can feed baby animals, a little park for kids, places for pictures and a scary hay ride but that doesn’t start tell 8, and a concession stand.

“well what should we do first?” Henry ask once they paid to get in.

“Let’s do the corn maze first.” Norman suggestion. “It’s the longest and it would be worse at night if we get lost.”

The ethers agree and head to the corn maze and going in. When they got far enough in it was like all sound -screams, laughter, talking and the animals- was gone. it felt like they were on there on in the world. The corn stalks were towering over each of there heads so there was no seeing the outside ether. But it was fun, that Erie feeling in the pit of there stomachs and they continued down the long path. Then they went left.

They became lost in the corn maze. Of corse they did. It was part of the experience. Joey had been secretly wanting to get lost and Sammy notice they haven’t came across anyone else in here ether. “What if everyone is is dead.” He said in a spooky voice.

“Or they been sucked up in a spaceship?” Joey added and they other two laughed.

“I can do one better.” Henry said. “What if were the ghost and this Is our afterlife.

“Ohh that is a good one.” Joey replied then kisses Henry.

Sammy turn to Norman to see if he could do better but he wasn’t behind him now. He looked left then right. “Guy. Did he lose Norman?”

“Oh crap. When was the last time he was hear?” Henry ask.

“I- just a few minutes ago I though?” Sammy replied.

“Norman! We’re over here!” Joey called out. “Follow me v-

Norman jumped out at them from behind, making them all scream in fright. He cracked up laughing from how scared everyone was.

“You dick!” Joey said but was laughing.

“I think my heart stop!” Henry had his hand over his heart.

“You mean.” Sammy who had fallen back in fright, pouts.

“Yikes. Sorry Sammy.” Norman helped up his boyfriend. “And stop being a drama queen Henry.” He joked.

Sammy cuddles into Norman chest. “Hmm you should be.” He looked up and smirked.

Norman leans down and kisses him on the nose. “Forgive me now?”

Sammy blushes and nodded. “your forgiven.”

Norman smiled down at him. “Great!

The four continued on down the paths of the corn maze and soon came up to the scarecrow. Sammy pulled out his phone and got a few pictures with it. One of all four. One of him and Norman and the last with Henry and Joey. He sent the two pictures to both Henry and Joey and sent 2 to Norman.

It took another 30 minutes before they found there way out. “ yay freedommmmm” Henry Said being a drama queen again. Joey playfully rolls his eyes as they all laugh.

Then next activity they choose was the animals. Sammy got a lot of cute and funny moments from this activity. like Norman feeding a pig and petting it. The pig was found of Norman and crawled into his lap. Norman petted the pig for a long while, Henry holding a baby chick then getting swarm by it’s brothers and sisters, surrounding Henry. and Joey getting chased by an Alpaca because he was afraid to feed it and held on to the bucket. Norman even recorded Sammy feeding and petting the sheep. They were his favorite.

They all decided to get the pumpkins last so the only think left is the haunted hay ride! But you had to wait 30 minutes for the next ride so while they waisted they got there dinner ant ate it.

Once it was time they packed in with others. Sammy and Norman huddle on one side while Henry and Joey we’re huddled together across form them. Soon the ride began. It was quit fir the first few minutes but then out of no where came a guy with a chainsaw running toured them, making them all scream. Sammy got closet to Norman and felt his grip tightening a bit, letting him know that he won’t let nothing bad happy to him.

There was so many more scares, screams and laugher from the others scared look. The ride sadly had to come to an end though. With having done everything they all went to the pumpkin patch to find there perfect pumpkin. Norman found his in two minutes. With Joey being the next one having his, Sammy followed with Henry being the last.

They all paid for there pumpkins and went to Joeys house to stay the night. They all out there pumpkins in the Garage to do tomorrow when it’s raining.

For now Joey made a fire in there pit outside. Sammy cuddled up next to Norman in the bench, Norman wrapping his arms around his waist. Henry and Joey sit close on the two Single chairs. They begin to tell ghost stories with Joey being the first. And his mother coming out with hot chocolate for them.

The Holiday Special: This genre is family friendly and focus on the warm and cozy feeling associated with the holiday and bringing people together. It features found families, and wholesome couples.

The B-Movie: This genre embodies trashy fun! Like a frat/sorority party filled with drama, sex, booze, and a little Halloween or horror flavor. Blood, guts, missing limbs/heads, broken bones, and other over the top/cheesey effects feature in this genre.

Haunted House/Ghost Stories: There are many types of ghosts and hauntings, this genre has them all wrapped up in a nice little package house. This genre features ghosts that don’t know they’re dead, the people who can see them, and the spooky practice of covering mirrors.

Found Footage: A series of vignettes that tie together at the end. Can be scary or not scary- it’s just moments tied together by a person/thing.

Slashers: Sometimes people get stabby. Usually in a very creative way. Chainsaws, chase sequences, masked antagonists, and the occasional bout of people consumption in this genre.

Musical: Music is the foundation of this genre, if requested the fic will be based partially on a song, or include references to music. (You may request which song if you’d like.)

Final Girl (person): The lone survivor in a horror movie, or the last person standing after the apocalypse, the ultimate badass.

Memento Mori: Reminders of the dead, or things long gone (relationships/places), can include personal items such a locks of hair/jewelry typical of Victorian mourning or things like memories that also haunt people and force them to recognize their own mortality.

The Void is Calling: This threat to the characters’s is much closer than they think…it might even be coming from inside the house. It can feature a phone call or texts from an unknown number or letters with no postmark/stamps.

The Sin Factor: Doing certain things (having sex, drinking, etc.) makes you less likely to survive the story.

Killing Boys: The leading lady is out for revenge, queer Bonnie and Clyde style.

I See Dead People: One of the characters can see ghosts, and cannot escape them.

Already Dead: A character is not aware they’re a ghost and must reach out in order to pass on. Or, a character knows they’re a ghost and refuses to pass on.

Black Pearl: The characters knew the treasure was cursed, yet they tried to find it anyway. Was it worth? Could it ever have? (Bonus: can include actual pirates.)

Falling to Pieces: Something is already rotting away, it might be the house, it might be a relationship, it might be the skeletons in the closet, or worse something under the floorboards.

Science Fiction double feature: Science can be just as scary as the stories we tell. Maybe it’s an experiment gone wrong, someone alone on a space ship, or a dark corner of an autopsy room- our characters must learn that just because they can doesn’t mean the should and sometimes dead is better.

Funky Physics: Whether it’s never ending hallways, looping rooms, doors to no-where, or a slightly wrong alternate dimension- our characters must try to navigate a changing landscape that they can’t predict.
