The Arctic 168 years ago today: Search for Franklin (21 Oct 1850) https://buff.ly/2R49p8z In 1845 the renowned British explorer Sir John Franklin had set off to find the Northwest Passage, but by winter 1846-7, with no word from Franklin reaching Britain for over a year, it became clear something was wrong.
