It has come to my attention that your stay in Galar has extended into the holiday season. It seems to me that it would be terribly strange, being in a foreign region at a time like this. Provided you have no other place to be, I'd like to invite you to Ballonlea for tomorrow's Arcmas festivities at Ms. Opal's home. You need not bring a gift, if you weren't already planning on doing so, although if there's a particular dish you'd like to be present at dinner you'll need to tell me as soon as possible or bring it yourself. Opal and I have already got our plans for the kitchen laid out, and I for one would rather know about any disruptions as soon as possible.

You'll be delighted to learn that I took a sizeable break just yesterday to open unfortunately neglected Arcmas presents. And that I take breaks in increments throughout any average day. However, any more than that, and I risk falling behind. I'm sure you'd agree that someone who lost their most recent tournament has no business thinking of breaks.

Besides, I think I'd know what's "healthy" for myself.

Yes, there is! At least here, we call it Delibird Day, but you might also hear Arcmas or Christmas depending! Either way, it's a holiday where people decorate like this and give gifts to each other. Lots of time with family and friends, too :)

Oh, so I arrived around harvest festival time! Quite the coincidence. I'll have to see about getting Ember here a little something extra.

I may have only had her for a day, but my heart's already attached itself to her and I feel the need to show my appreciation.

cosmog mail! the little puff of stardust places a present on basils porch very carefully, rings the bell, and teleports away.

the gift is somewhat sloppily wrapped with pumpkaboo and phantump themed wrapping paper. atop the package are a letter and a spell tag. the letter reads as follows:

"merry arcmas basil. sorry this shits so late.. was busy with family stuff a while. hope you like it. was pretty damn hard to get my hands on. also thought itd be funny to stuff the package with basil but. didnt have much basil and bolt said itd be a waste anyway. uh. dont know how to end this so. have a nice day? or night probably by the time this gets out to you -rs"

within the package is a few things.. a small bag of homemade cookies, a little container of basil, and something very large at the bottom, wrapped in many layers of old newspaper. a krookodile skull!

Peli- er... Rune Mail? Rune just hand delivers the present, Cosmog and Cofagrigus in tow. She places the present on the porch, rings the bell, and has Connie teleport the three of them away before they're seen.

What's left on the porch is an unusually long cardboard box wrapped neatly in Pumpkaboo and Phantump patterned wrapping paper. Atop it is a Spell Tag and a note. The note reads as follows:

"hey vanilla. sorry for such a late present.. part of it was being busy but. honestly? most was just shit time managment. still... merry arcmas? hope you like the gifts. funny story how i got one but. wouldnt want to spoil the surprise. ask sometime later if youre interested? -rs"

Within the present is three other packages... The first is a bag of homemade cookies. Sweet! (Literally) The second, a case opening up to reveal a number of hand painted custom Pokéballs, themed after different mons! The majority are either Zorua or Hisuian Zorua themed, but there are a couple for other mons, such as an Alteria, Vanillite, Rotom, and Snivy themed one.

Now, the final gift... At the bottom of the box lies something wrapped in old newspaper. A sword!? Yes, a sword! An odd Eépé with a teal blade and golden hilt. It seems to have been well made and taken care of, but you can spot some dirt in the crevices of its ornate design.

Oh, how long has this box been sitting here...? I was on "chasing down a Vanillite" duty all day, again...

Anyways. Cookies are delicious, first off! I'd send some back, but not sure they can compare. I'm, uh... guessing the sword is the one with the strange story? A gorgeous piece, but I'd love to hear how you got it!

Though honestly, I'm just as curious how long you took creating these Pokéballs. They're beautiful! I hope you don't mind too much if I keep them for display; my team's pretty used to their balls at this point, and besides, this way I can look at the painting without scuffing it up in battle!

Pelipper mail! Multiple packages appear!

In a package labelled "Marnie" in neat, angular handwriting, there are three smaller boxes wrapped in thick pink ribbon. One contains a Grimmsnarl themed tea set- the teapot has a Grimmsnarl face on its body, and the spout and handle are fashioned to look like tendrils of Grimmsnarl hair. The creamer and sugar bowl are themed after Morgrem, with the tapered lip of the creamer being the Morgrem's large nose and the handles of the sugar bowl being large strands of dark colored hair. The four teacups look like smiling Impidimp heads, and the saucers they sit on look like pink overturned mushroom caps.

The next box contains a reversible sweatshirt fashioned after Morpeko, one side sporting jagged stripes in brown beige and black, the other stripes in black and purple. It has large pockets on both sides, which were advertised as being for storing copious amounts of snacks.

The third box contains a portable pokeball display case, fashioned out of dark colored translucent plastic and covered in shiny metallic studs. Inside are six new dusk balls, each one wrapped in a decorative pink ribbon.

In a package labelled "Piers" in the same handwriting, there are a few more boxes. Two bulk packs of bobby pins, one black and one white, a pack of thick magenta hair ties, and multiple decorative hair clips and pins, fashioned after the fluorescent blue of Low-Key Toxtricity's electric crest or the stark black and white patterning of Obstagoon's neck fur. The package also contains some bright magenta guitar picks and a Malamar figurine with poseable tentacles.

Sat on top of the boxes is a card adorned with Bede's signature. "Admittedly, I haven't quite had the opportunity to participate extensively in very many gift-giving holidays. Despite my lack of experience, I expect that you'll find my efforts satisfactory~" The confident strokes of his pen reek with self satisfaction.

as Marnie and Piers go through all of their gifts, each one even greater than the next, Piers spots the letter on the boxes. As he reads it aloud, a small grin spreads across his face.

"I'd say these gifts are a bit more than 'satisfactory', wouldn't ya, Mar?"

"YES!" the young teen all but shouts, "-This teapot and sweater and just- EVERYTHING is so cute and thoughtful~." She smiles as she pulls on her new sweater over her dress, her eyes beaming with joy. "Bede really is a great friend, ain't he?"

Piers smiles thoughtfully, turning the Malamar figurine around in his hand.

"Aye," he finally answers, "That he is."

[*A letter has appeared in Grimsley's mailbox. It's of course addressed to him, and the return address seems to be from Hammerlocke, Galar*]

"Dearest Grimsley,

"I know this may be a sudden letter, but I hope this reaches you well. I am unsure who you spend the holidays with, but I would very much love it if you and your lovely partner could come out to Galar to visit for the season. Piers and Marnie miss the two of you very much, and I think it would be a wonderful Arcmas gift for them if you were to come visit! Of course you don't have to either, I don't want you to feel pressured, but as the grandmother of two notorious gym leaders here, I am able to get you and Burgh a private suite at the Budew inn here in Motostoke, as well as first-class plane tickets to visit.

Please respond when you receive this letter, my dear. I wasn't sure of Burgh's address or info, so inform him as well if you don't mind.

(*Grimsley tends to check his mail several times a week. Since he lives in an apartment complex, he has a P.O. Box at the local post office in Opelucid. Today is one of those days, especially with the holidays, he tends to stop by more often to prevent any pileup of mail.*)

(*Curiosity piqued, Grimsley opens this letter first. He scans the contents quickly before an eyebrow quirks, then going through it again at a much slower pace. A trip? To Galar? For him and Burgh? And fully paid for? Now that’s much too generous…*)

(*But a vacation does sound quite lovely for the holidays… With the League beginning to close up a bit in preparation for the holidays, it wouldn’t cause much trouble on his end either…*)

(*He should talk with Burgh about it before coming to a decision, but the thought of going somewhere with his boyfriend to an entirely different region makes him a bit giddy. …And perhaps a tad nervous at meeting his…step-mother…? I suppose that’s the easiest thing to call her due to their rather complicated family.*)

Delibird Day Delivery!

[The first gift package is from Marnie! It's a small box containing an analog, rose-gold watch. The face of the watch is a muted maroon color, with the fairy-type symbol etched in the middle. There are also some earrings and a rose-gold bracelet to match in the box as well!]

[The second is from Piers! It's a pink and purple gift bag containing a life-sized gothita plush, A smaller reuniclus figurine, and a thermal-alloy tumbler (for hot and cold drinks) decorated with Sylveon colors, including the bow and ribbons twisting around the bottle.]

[A card is also in the bag that reads: "Merry Arcmas Bede! I'm so happy we became friends and I hope for many more years of friendship with you to come. We hope you like your gifts and have a pleasantly pink day~ -Marnie and Piers". It's clearly written by Marnie (her penmanship is miles better than Piers), but the singer signs his own name as well.]

...I seem to recall saying that I thought the idea of collecting anything was a flawed concept in and of itself. Something about collections being surefire ways to create superfluous clutter? And yet, you lot continue to force a watch collection on me anyway. Hmph.

It's not as though I can just get rid of any of them, either. Not when they're relatively expensive gifts, and they happen to match my style and sensibilities as well. And having three watches that fit is certainly preferable to having one that decidedly doesn't, now isn't it. Especially with charming accompanying accessories... so thank you very much, I suppose, for this superfluous clutter.

Speaking of, another plush toy, hm? At this rate, I'll have one of my pokemons' every form, not just every member... the figurine can go on the second shelf that anon so kindly provided me, but I think this Gothita is better served at the foot of my bed. If Gothitelle deigns to stop dragging it about the place, anyway. So, thanks. From both of us. I think that tumbler will be the most useful to me - I do hate it when my tea goes cold.
