Actually there is something so choice about how the narrative around Jason’s death pre-ressurection spends so much time reassuring Bruce (and the audience) that Bruce has no culpability and that Jason was hopeless and even at times tries to convince us that actually Jason wasn’t even really his son so Bruce didn’t fail as a father, he did the best he could really. Bruce doesn’t owe him anything. This could be seen as an attempt to distort history in order cope with Jason’s death, but this narrative is never actually challenged, we’re meant to take it as truth. And then Jason comes back and drags Bruce by the ear and goes actually no bitch you do owe me something you owe me a death. Bruce doesn’t get to wash his hands of him. Jason forces the issue, he refuses to let Bruce walk away clean. Good, he shouldn’t <3

#The narrative wants to have its cake and eat it too. We can milk Jason for man pain but we can’t have Batman implicated in a child’s death #and then Jason breaks the peace by climbing out of the fridge and grabbing Bruce by the throat to make demands. I tend to draw with very warm or desaturated colors and soft shades. TTRULY did not spend enough time + i dont rmb enough to give them accurate and true classpects. but #okay. heres my rationale for all of them #callie rogue. obvs. her family are smugglers. she took one of those smuggled goods (serpent egg) and tried to give it to someone better.#stealing and redistributing hope etc. hope i chose for idea of potential & infinite possibilities (destiny peregrines).#also if i rmb right.. hope is one of the classes for like losers. which. i mean that is all of duck teams. losers who realise they suck #AND kick ass #sol blood. connections & bonds we fight for. also his whole arc abt family. etc etc #page because. ok uh #pages have a whole thing of starting out as nobodies and becoming someone. v dteam. i did also consider giving him knight but. ultimately #wanted to draw sol in the page shorts shorts. so. well.#calder i was. least sure abt #gave him void i think relates to his feeling of smallness/insignificance/uselessness + the helm...#and a knight. bcus hes a selfsacrificing guy. also his entire character is like... protecting ppl. very knightly #i dont remember that much abt the knight class tbh tho. Ideal anime Dedede would have been a "I mean yeah I bully the kid but I don't want him DEAD." And they'd actually keep that trait consistent.

#batty babbles #IM LOOKING AT YOU DEDEDE REVERTING TO A JACKAMULE AFTER THE METOR ARC AND THE FAKE DEATH EPISODE #petty dedede is fine just hate he learned his lesson more than once but because it was episodic they removed any character development #“i attempt murder on a child daily” dedede should have been out of the question long before the anime was written #kirby 64 was in development at the time and he was literally only the antagonist once prior in kirby's literal first game.#dark matter and nightmare were right there to be “out to kill kirby” antagonists #oh sure meta knight is forgiven from his ACTUAL attempt to kill kirby in superstar-#-but dedede is still out for blood despite not being a dedicated bad guy in years #mini rant i guess #I love how boisterous he is but he was just such a huge ass and it didn't represent is at the time character well

Asuna's character arc in SAO: throws herself into battle because she genuinely doesn't know what else to do and feels hopeless; gets pulled out of depression by kirito showing her that no, actually, you can take a fucking break and eat a cream puff once in a while, gradually grows from listless high-class daughter who's never been allowed to really understand who she is into the primary battlefield commander of the front lines, and eventually falls in love with kirito and learns how to do work-life balance between being a warrior and relaxing in domesticity.

Asuna's character arc post-SAO: "help, im a damsel in distress,, oh no im being sexually molested by both an incredibly slimy dude and a literal slime,, ughh my mom sucks and wont let me doo thiinnggs,"

Ragyo is a tough bitch to beat. However when Jaune uses his semblance on Satsuki to amp her up even her bitch of a mother can't beat her.

(Part One | Part Two)

Satsuki panted heavily, her scratches and bruises scarring her body, as she shakily holds Bakuzan in her trembling hands. Ragyo smiled cruelly at her eldest daughter, as they were surrounded by craters that marked the battlefield. The dark-blue-haired girl's legs quivered as she attempted to approach her mother.

"You've improved," the madwoman said, gesturing to a cut in her clothing, where a scar was; but closed up due to Life Fibers she fused with long ago. "but not much, my dearest daughter."

Ragyo began to approach her traitorous child, a cruel smile spreading across her lips. Satsuki shuddered in dread, remembering how her mother is with her. The white-haired woman giggled, as she twitches her left hand; preparing to strike her daughter once more. Raising her hand up, Ragyo brings it down swiftly; only for Satsuki to become surrounded by a strange light.

"WHAT?!" She shouted in rage, then her red eyes turn to a certain blonde in armor.

Jaune Arc was back on his feet, the wounds she gave him had disappeared. Both of his hands glowed, using his semblance to assist his lover. Satsuki blinked for a moment, then feels her becoming renewed with strength. The swordswoman raised her weapon and proceeded to cut off her mother's left hand. Ragyo stepped back, her eyes widened in confusion. Then, Junketsu becomes surrounded by that bright light, its wielder charging toward its creator. Satsuki roared with fury, swinging her sword at her mother; blood spilling out as Ragyo was stabbed, slashed, and struck by the weapon.

"NEVER AGAIN!!" Satsuki Kiryuin roared, "YOU WILL NEVER TOUCH HIM AGAIN! YOU WILL NEVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!!!"

Ichigo lying on the floor in a pool of his own blood, nearly defeated but STILL trying to keep Byakuya and Renji from taking Rukia away from him until she, with tears streaming down her face, swears she'll never forgive him if he tries to follow

Him swearing on his soul to save her, vowing to pass through a "thousand blades" for her, that the power he gains is for her sake

The way he finally reunites with her in SS, flying down from the heavens in a freaking CLOAK billowing in the wind and landing gracefully into a kneel, like a knight kneeling before his princess

unable to look into her eyes as he quietly tells her he's here to save her, while she weeps over the injuries that burden his body

when it's all over, they stand and face each other in an open field, the sun sets and she smiles, he sees her smile and remembers why he wanted to save her so badly, thanks her because the rain has finally stopped

like if I ever wanna watch something and swoon I'm skipping the shoujo and just rewatching this arc tbh
