Religion in Arc of A Scythe Trilogy

I think that religion would still exist in some parts of the world, but it would be slightly altered from the original

Theres no one to pray to anymore for times of sickness, health, prosperity and protection (because everything there is controlled by statistics)

Crime rate is lessened(dk if their theory is that mood swings lead to crime, people can be mean even when using logic)

Loss of significance of death-> means theres plenty of time to pursue your dreams (and humans being humans, will either procrastinate on said dreams, or take time for granted)

I think the existence of the Thunderhead would affect the concept of God, and your relationship with Him

Maybe some rites and rituals still survive post- modification, like burning the funeral pyre, burial, and whatnot

My point is that I dont actually believe religion is fully obsolete in the Scythe World, remnants of it still remain, just that those who still do would likely be in the minority

I don't know if someone has already asked you but, what is your favorite scene in the trilogy?

it’s super hard to pick just one scene so i’ll just name a few

1. the scene where curie tells citra about her relationship with faraday. i LOVE this scene. im obsessed w curaday so i think i just think it’s rlly cute.

2. the first conclave scene. i like this one in particular just because it’s rlly interesting to see how conclaves operate and how other scythes interact with one another.

3. literally any scene w faraday in the toll. “the toll” era faraday broke my heart omg i felt so bad for him. seeing him so heartbroken was awful :/

4. the coffee shop scene with citra, faraday, curie, and munira. i love this scene bc i love seeing curie and faraday interact (i’m obsessed w curaday).

can we talk about how most people in Arc of A Scythe trilogy(will refer as Scythe trilogy in future) are depressed?

Like we've got an AI (the Thunderhead) that basically takes care of everything, writing your stories, developments in research, doing your work for you, music, everything in that world is controlled by a supercomputer that tells you what to do

Plus the population is essentially immortal due to nano-antibodies

I mean, no wonder a lot of people used to go bungee jumping and perform life-threatening stuff all the time, cuz if

1. Your existence is futile because someone else is already doing your work (maybe this is why I liked it when Citras father immediately came at his wifes defense when Scythe Faraday offhandedly mentioned that most jobs were obsolete)

2. No concept of a religion anymore cuz if immortal, then the whole significance of death is rendered useless,people take lives for granted, (probably why scythes were introduced)

3. These folk are in SERIOUS NEED of healthy stimuli, i kid you not

And all of this is hidden under the ethics of murder :)
