Something I often think about yet never see anyone talk about is SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE AOAS WORLD. Like, there's so much potential that is just unexplored????

YouTube video essays titled "A Deep Dive into TonistTok" or "The Horrors of UnsavoryTok"

Tiktoks like "Pov: That one girl who's sibling just became a scythe" or "That one aunt who just turned her 102397428th corner"

Entire subreddits dedicated to individual scythes and fandoms that go wild everytime a new journal of their fave is added to the Library of Alexandria

YouTube channels dedicated to recording and uploading every mass gleaning by Goddard and his gang

Professional partiers advertising their services on Instagram

Loads and loads of memes complaining about unsavories or bashing tonists

Are there famous YouTubers who collab with scythes? "Today's interview with the Grande Dame of Death" (she would not agree to that)

Maybe there's a small fandom out there dedicated to figuring out as many details about the "seven years" with Curaday as possible

Does the Thunderhead get involved with social media? It definitely sees everything (which is both a blessing and a curse)

Are scythes allowed social media accounts? Are there scythes out there posting GRWMs on TikTok or making YouTube videos explaining Scythedom rules to non-scythes? Maybe a scythe has a secret Tumblr blog where she reblogs cat pictures and complains about scythe life- I'd pay money to see that

I think I'm probably a little too chronically online but like... This is such an interesting possibility that never gets explored ever???

Something that makes the world feel very real to me, is that people aren't in awe of their technology. There's a scene where someone has to have his eyes fully regrown, which will take several days, and he remarks that it doesn't seem like "speed healing" to him. That's so realistic.

Much like people today get annoyed if a website takes a bit of time to load. In everyday life, we don't often marvel at the advancements we have. Just as they don't.

A common thread in the books is the concept that people can adjust to anything if Givin enough time. They're not impressed by the thunderhead or the ability to turn a corner or any of the other sifi wonders. It's their normal.

AOAS is actually so weird out of context. The main baddie is literally from mars, he killed an entire planet, was beheaded, and then started wearing one of the MC’s best friend’s body like the other 17% of the headless horseman for the ~drama~. One of the main driving plot points of the first book is Mars Man kidnapping Basically The President’s daughter and forcing the MC to babysit her against his will while he studies to get his license to kill. My man floods Basically NATO with mind-controlled sharks and yells “lol nope, u thought” while watching world leaders get eaten from a helicopter. The B-plot is New Jesus trying to navigate the intricacies of religion and developing a dysfunctional-ass found family that consists of his tour manager, a stubborn but devout theatre kid, a jean-cloaked ex-killer, and Robot God. He falls in love with a sexy sea captain who gets possessed by Robot God bc it’s in love. There’s deep talks about nature and morality of humanity. The two MC’s bang while dying of hypothermia while sinking to the bottom of the ocean. This isn’t even half of it.
