For the main event of this week’s episode of NXTB, North American Champion Kazuma Satou (Konosuba) is defending his title against the challenger, Soul Evans (Soul Eater). Kazuma is being accompanied to the ring by his party - Megumin, Aqua, and Darkness. Soul is being accompanied to the ring by Maka Albarn.

Hehe I want to return the favor and ask which of YOUR blorbos (Pokemon or not, your choice) would get way into a snowball fight and which would be watching from inside, cozy and warm

Okay so let's start with the Pokemon blorbos and see how many others I remember off the top of my head after that.

Cynthia: She's a Sinnoh girl born and raised, woe to anyone who faces her on the field of snowy battle. Fortunately for the children of Eterna City, she doesn't engage in snowball fights too often. (Though she did teach Gardenia and Candice a few things) Her Garchomp, nesting for the winter in heated blankets and pillows, needs near-constant attention due to being a spoiled little shark baby. Sometimes a Luxury Ball just isn't enough.

Courtney: Team Magma is no stranger to the art of snowball fights. Each winter in Hoenn, Pokemon battles for territory and glory against Team Aqua are often substituted with elegant volleys of frigid projectiles. Courtney studies optimal formations, develops methods of constructing advanced snow forts, and brews the finest hot cocoa to keep their troops' morale up while in the trenches. Despite having long since established the rules of engagement for their winter warfare, both sides cheat. Shelly is irritatingly skilled at sabotage and subterfuge.

Guzma: The only place where snow happens naturally on Alola is on the peak of Mount Lanakila, and Guzma's specialty is Bug-types. Safe to say that he and the rest of Team Skull would be staying inside if they were ever caught in a snowstorm somehow.

Zinnia: She gets way too intense about it after Lisia teaches her the basics. Snowballs with gravel inside, snow-sludge balls aimed between the gaps in her opponents' "armor", close-quarters grappling while threatening some poor teen with an icicle dagger. Zinnia respects opponents who fight back, and enjoys the chase when they try to flee. She'd probably try to use Rayquaza to summon a hailstorm if she ever found herself on the losing side. Meanwhile Lisia got too cold after 5 minutes and went back inside to have hot cocoa with her uncle Wallace while she waits for her GF to finish annihilating the competition.

Drayden, Iris, Looker, and Drasna would all stay inside, not much more to say about them. Moving on to the non-Pokemon blorbos, beneath the cut because this post's already long.

Normally Entrapta's fine with staying inside in her furnace heated science-castle and eating mini-cookies with her hot cocoa, but if Frosta invited her to a snowball fight she'd probably find some way to enjoy it. Building some sort of automatic snowball packing machine, maybe. Unfortunately she probably couldn't use her hair as throwing arms since that'd just make her get cold even faster. Hordak definitely isn't leaving the house, his scrawny ass can barley handle autumn.

Speaking of scrawny dramatic nerds who can't handle cold temperatures, Dirk Strider is from a distant future bad ending Earth that flooded due to global warming, spending his childhood living in the ruinous seascape that used to be Texas. No way in hell that guy's staying outside once it dips below 60, maybe 50 degrees F.

You'd think Princess Rosalina would be solidly in the "Goes hard in a snowball fight" category, since she has magic telekinesis-gravity powers and her Mario Kart maps indicate that she enjoys winter weather. Only one problem: She's used to being almost entirely alone. Lumas can't pack snowballs with their tiny stub arms. Thus, Rosalina is firmly in the "enjoying hot cocoa indoors" category, likely cuddling on a couch next to Samus Aran.

Lastly, Hunter Noceda would definitely take a snowball fight way too seriously. He may or may not win, but he'll certainly have fun doing it. Willow might not have full access to her usual plant magic in a winter climate, but that won't stop her from winning.

Honestly like... get rid of most of Zdarsky's batman run. You may notice lots of Retcons here but like. what does Zdarskys's batman run bring, in tone, that 'Tec does not do 40000 times better? It also cannot exist simultaneously with 'tec. only one of these stories can exist in current canon, and only one of them is good, so ... goodbye zdarsky's batrun.

New 52 onward garth is just an OC or guy from another universe (whatever they did with new 52 roy) and real garth with his character development is going to come back

Babs - some retcons. Either a similar thing with new 52 onwards babs just being misfit with amnesia (a headcanon I saw that I liked) or giving some new 52 Babs as Batgirl plots to Steph, keeping oracle stuff as Babs, and have Babs back as a para in her wheelchair and Oracle with her character development intact

Retcon all of the character assassination associated with Glass's run on Teen Titans 2016. no half-assed williamson stuff like 'uwu he was sad because of alfred's death'. actual retcons.

Retcon Morrison Talia and re-write Damian's childhood to be done mostly without Talia before he was 8 and she just was not aware of his existence due to (shenanigans). I'm doing my own shot at this in my fic The Way My Mother Didn't Raise me (link)

Give Tim Drake a character arc to make him move on from Robin for real.

you know i am gonna go with helena kosmatos. even in the team comic she was introduced in she was quickly shoved to the side to be a love interest for a boring guy.

but like. how is a teenager girl with murderous rage that granted her superpowers due to furies not fun? do people remember being a teenage girl? also shes kind of indirectly* responsible for her brother's death after she blames him for their mom's death when their mom finds out he was collaborating with nazis. there's a lot of angst potential here.

*I say indirectly b/c it was unclear how much was tisiphone possessing her, while she expressed desire for her brother's death verbally i'm p sure she was very much tisiphone at that time

Imo, it's pretty inevitable that Kana is going to find out about Aqua's revenge plan - it feels very intentional that the movie arc is pretty much the first time he's been willing to actively involve and manipulate Kana specifically for his own ends and I don't think it's a coincidence that this is only happening now Aqua is at his lowest point. Involving Kana to such a degree really feels like Aqua choosing to cross a line he had previously drawn for himself in terms of involving Kana directly with his revenge.

After all, I don't think it's accidental or due to a lack of focus that Kana has largely remained ignorant to this side of Aqua - rather, I think it's representative of the fact that Kana and his friendship with her is, in a lot of ways, a sort of refuge for Aqua, a window into a life as a normal teenager. As he himself put it all the way back in chapter 30, Kana is one of the few people in his life Aqua feels he can talk to without any manipulation or ulterior motives and it's clear he deeply values this aspect of their relationship. Through Kana, a lot of Aqua's worst traits are sort of filtered through a brighter, kinder lens and she brings a lot of his better traits out of him - his playful sense of humour, his sense of care and duty to the people around him, that sort of thing. Even the parts of himself he hates are softened a bit. For the like, five of you who occupy the middle of the "Oshi no Ko enjoyer" and "Umineko Enjoyer" Venn diagram, through Aqua and Kana's friendship, we (and arguably Aqua) are able to see him with love.

It's why I think it's not just inevitable but outright necessary that Kana find out about everything going on with Aqua. Aqua's arc during this stretch of the manga has been about him desecrating all his most important relationships and finally crossing the line in actively manipulating and involving Kana is part of that desecration. It's such a big shift in the status quo of their relationship that it necessitates Kana being given the information necessary to join everyone else in shaking him and going STOP RUINING YOUR LIFE, DIPSHIT!!!!

Anyway uh as you can probably tell by all that, I really like Kana! She's probably my favourite member of the cast who is not Ai and I think it's partially because her arc hits on a lot of similar beats to the ones that made Ai so compelling for me. She is definitely not on the same level of Brain Melting Blorbo as Ai obviously is for me lol but she touches on those same issues of lingering damage caused by childhood abuse, exploitation and abandonment and the kinds of things that pain does to you as you grow up. She engages with these themes in a way that is distinct enough from Ai to feel refreshing and honest while also, imo, being in conversation with it enough that it all coheres quite nicely.

I also just think she's fun and cute! The anime in general and its handling of the material is what finally made me really click with Oshi no Ko and Kana is, imo, second only to Ai in being the best served by the adaptation. She's plenty fun in the manga obviously but the anime puts a really tangible amount of love and care into its portrayal of her and does so many fun and cute things with her character acting it's really hard not to be endeared to her. I liked her fine during my first pass of the manga but it was definitely the anime that turned me into a card carrying Arima Kana Enjoyer. A big part of what has me so excited about season 2 is knowing that some of her best moments after going to get that same loving treatment and I can't wait to see it!

I'll say it again, a massive misunderstanding happened here, because I thought I was in a space where people could act like adults and share thoughts. clearly that's not true! the moment you thought someone was going after your blorbo, you got defensive and catty, even though I wasn't going after him. my intention definitely wasn't to erase or invalidate anything, all I said was that I didn't get the same message from something he said. I don't understand why you can't handle that, but it's not an attack on anyone to just think differently.

No, the moment you started refusing to listen to the words someone used to explain their own identity is when I said fuck this. I'm not some crazy Damien fan. I don't care who it is. You don't get to debate someone's identity. You started this, word for word with "I'm hearing" and then proceeded to say exactly the opposite of the words that came from his mouth. That is absolutely an attack on someone's identity.

If someone tells you they're blue, you don't get to tell them they actually meant aqua. If they meant aqua they'd say aqua.

If you are aspec, you still don't get to tell people they don't get to explain themselves using the SAM. You don't get the right to pick that apart because it isn't the language you would use.

"She looks even cuter in person!" Said the purple one. He had long curled orange and yellow hair and wore a purple hoodie with a pink furry patch on the stomach over shiny purple leggings, shiny purple platform lace-up boots, purple tinted sunglasses with bedazzled lavender frames, and purple lipstick.

"I just want to eat her up!" Said the pink one. He had long curled hot pink hair in pigtails and wore a hot pink skirt with suspenders over a light pink shirt, light pink furry sleeve warmers, hot pink fingerless gloves, sparkly pink knee high socks with white stripes on the top, pink platform boots with pink hearts on the buckles, a light pink bedazzled visor that shadowed his eyes, and hot pink lipstick. He held a giant pink lollipop.

"Can we keep her?!? Can we?!?" Said the yellow one. He had wild yellow hair with orange goggles on top and wore an orange shirt, a yellow jacket with yellow fur around the collar, yellow cargo pants, and yellow boots with orange laces. He held a strange box.

"She's quite... Entertaining." Said the blue one. He had blue goo dripping down his face and wore a blue beret, an aqua shirt, a sparkly indigo jacket with blue fur on the collar and cuffs, blue pants, and blue shoes. He held a dirty and cracked white mask with big eyes and a mouth set in a permanent 'o'.

Ocean put her arm protectively in front of Jane.

"Are you- The Lords in Black?" Asked Constance.

They began to chant again.

"Out of the depths of hell and back,

We've traveled very far,

Cover our souls in robes of black,

The Lords in Black we are"

The green one, who seemed to be "Wiggly", spoke again. "Don't be so formal Connie. We're all pally-wals here. I mean look at us. We even hold court in your own tongue and form! Go Uranium!"

The rest of the Lords laughed at this.

"Our true forms would melt your minds." The blue one added.

"Don't frighten them, Pokey, you nasty boy!" Wiggly responded.

"We need the carnie brought to us. We heard- You could help us."

"The Lords in Black will help you yes,

You stupid silly girl,

Why help you with the Carnieman,

When we could help the world"

"Hmm we could. We could lure him here. But why?" Said Wiggly.

"We want... To kill him." Said Constance. She clenched her fist, rage bubbling.

"I want to see that!" Said the purple one.

"We'll give you whatever you want!" Said Constance.

"Whatever we want?" Said Wiggly.

"Whatever we want we want,

Forever in our debt"

"So. What do you want from us?"

"Nothing you aren't already giving us, Constance." Said Wiggly, smiling.

Annon-Guy: As fellow Dawn of the New World fan, what do you think of the main characters introduced in that game?

Specifically Emil, Ratatosk, Marta, Tenebrae, Richter, Aqua, Alice and Decus.

Its been forever since ive played dotnw, so i might mess up small details. (I want to play it again- but am procrastinating playing symphonia orz)

Emil- the twist with him was so good. Kinda similar to Lukes twist in tota, except a bit more tragic because. The real Emil Castnagier is dead from the palmacosta fire. And Aster is dead because of Ratatosk.

But... he's still the real Emil. Even if his life was a lie. Even if his memories of his past were fake. The memories he made with Marta, Tenebrae, and everyone were real.

Ratatosk- I cant really remember a tonne about him individually tbh. Only that he improves over the course of the story, and becomes a much better teammate to Marta and Tenebrae.

Speaking of- Marta- shes a lot of fun honestly. The quips between her and tenebrae were perfect. And her character was also really cool- going up against her dad and the vanguard, all to try and save ratatosk. Shes cool.

Also, shes got tokunaga on her backpack. Any fan of Best Abyss Character, Anise Tatlin, is a friend of mine! (joke)(kinda)(i probably would like any Anise fan unless they were murderers or something like that.)

Tenebrae- brillient honestly. After playing tota, i can see the Jade influence loud and clear. And then you get to the twist and realise- he was in on it! He knew what was going on... owwie my heart. I see his reasoning for staying silent though. Just. Ow.

Richter- gay gay homosexual gay- sorry Richter, but its true!

On a serious note. God his situation is tragic. Seeing his dead best friend in Emil- and still seeing fit to be nice to Emil, and help him out? Despite knowing that this is really ratatosk? Amnesiatically piloting a copy of his best friends body? Ow owow ow ow. That got to me when i was sixteen (still kinda gets to me tbh) why? Because he believed in Emil being Emil.

Im sorry, I just need a minute.

Aqua- another one I dont remember a tonne about. She was really loyal to Richter- even above his own desires at times iirc.

And now, for my absolute blorbo from this game...

Alice- my silliest little meow meow who has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG EVER FIGHT ME ABOUT IT!

(She has done everything wrong and i love her for it.)

I went fucking loopy for this girl when i was sixteen. Like, if she told me to jump off a cliff i woulda done it. I wouldve fought Decus for her heart in a heartbeat if. Yknow. I couldve ever stood a chance at winning lmao.

I did all her sidequests in a second playthrough. (Missed some time sensative ones in my first playthrough nooooo) and felt so bad for her when her backstory was revealed. I loved that sidequest where she gives an old lady from tetha hella medicine (iirc) because. It showed me just what she couldve been if only the world had been better towards her.

Shit, i even tried brainstorming some timetravel au fanfic with her when i was a teen. Glad that never got out of my head- i wouldve written it SO badly. (My writing when i was sixteen was SO SHIT OMG-)

I felt so bad for that final battle with them, where we had to kill her and Decus. And she realises she really did love him... tear my heart out too why dont you?!

I really need to replay this game honestly.

Decus- hes pretty cool honestly. I cant remember the most about him. I liked hearing his backstory. And he had a interesting character- prioritising Alice above any allegence he had to the vanguard. And yet- he played the punch clock villian. It was never personal if he had to attack Emil or Marta- just his job.

This is all ive got for now. One day i will replay it again. One day. I hope that answers your question!

He is the representation of the queer journey made game character, the ironic fact that he is the closest to the mascot of all that represents capitalism is incredible good for social study. Seeing him growing on the story resonated with my growing into a lgbta+ person and now we are both happy with who we are.

I literally buyed the whole tri-pack of the DMC saga back in 2013 when I didn't even had a PS2, just to play it in a console a friend let me borrow. All the bro dudes buying his bad boy persona when he is a fucking depressed man that only knows happiness when he has his brother back, looked for the sexyness and irreverent style, stayed for the tragic sibling drama.

Neil Gaiman saw that one comic about giving robot feelings and decided to do the same with concepts. No Neil, you didn’t give it feelings, you fucked up a concept.

Sad wet snake, with queer tendencys ignored by most of marvel who is made justice on fanart/fanfic. My favourite "redemption" trope. Mama's boy. HE USES MAGIC, CAN SHAPESHIFT AND FIGHTS WITH KNIVES. May hate the world but loves his brother, that gets me every time. I just want them to be happy

I personally haven’t done a lot of reading on whatever happened to the Mausoleum and its ashes in the later centuries, but from what I’ve seen, the main theory (though only a theory….) is destruction by the Visigoths…unfortunately no one (I’ve read) seems to have a super clear idea of what happened! Mostly due to an absence of concrete evidence (But if I come across anything more solid in future I will send it your way!)

OH that bit from Suetonius! Even before looking it up I was guessing whether it would be the Sunbathing Baby anecdote haha…..and ashfjfkl your sun-moon idea of the statues in the Pantheon is brilliant…

On the Pantheon, I also think it’s really interesting that it was built right opposite the Mausoleum of Augustus….(on one hand there is definitely the imperial image-making component but)…there is some sort of connection to be made (in Vibes *waves hands around due to lack of words*) between the invitation to enshrine someone in the heavens, and the material/mortal assurance of setting someone’s ashes in a place to rest for eternity (perhaps?) next to where you’ll be in future…
