When You say that your friends influenced Icy, is it their headcanons on aspects of their personality? I’m an apsiring writer and I often notice some traits of my friends seep into characters, hope I’m not alone with this!

It was mostly their headcanons, since neither @magixwitch nor @solariaswitch are actually that much like Icy (and thank god for that).

However, I do see familiar interactions in what I write and on our discord server from time to time. So you’re absolutely not alone! 

Thinking about it though, I do think I may have used some of solariaswitch’s personality to keep Stella’s characterisation on track. So I missed that out of the previous ask.

A.W.W. 2017 information

The official google docs Rules and Steps to Join has been made!!🎊 Message me to talk about joining and ill give you more information about this workshop. Basically its all online and run by me, a fellow aspiring writer currently in college. The workshop will be a group of other young apsiring writers sharing feedback about original stories as well as documents providing notes on structure and plot etc. I have pdfs of screenplays as well. Its meant to encourage young writers like myself to keep writing and improve on our weaknesses. Its friendly and helpful. The path to become a great writer is reading good writing and writing a lot. The more people who give you feedback the more it will help you undestand concepts and elements that work/dont work. Its that time of the year again, when the masochistic writers of us (meaning everyone) my be starting prepare for the impeding odyssey. Well, because I didn’t learn my lesson the first time, like a bad zombie, I am back again for seconds. I am currently prepping for NaNoWriMo 2018.

However, this time I want to bring to light some of the resources that are available out there for people who feel may feel intimidated by the NaNoWriMo challenge. 

I will be posting resources that I use and even programs that are available to people. I will talk about them, if I have used them, and what I think about them and there usefulness.

The Beginning

Figuring out what you want to do in life is never easy. I for one, had been all over the place. At the beginning of high school I had decided that I wanted to pursue music. At the time I thought it was the best idea! But as time went on, I realized that I wouldn’t really be able to make a living from it. It wasn’t until halfway though my junior year that I realized what I really wanted to do. I wanted to go into the English business. To either become an editor, or a writer. Now that I decided, I had to start from somewhere. So, here I am, going into my senior year of high school, doing something that I love. So welcome, because this is just the beginning.

No more Read for Read

     So after being on Wattpad for a bit, I realized that I needed more readers. This is when I started to go around asking people to check out my books. This summer I ended up reading over 30 book sin read for read exchanges. For any newcomers to Wattpad, don’t do this unless you’re okay with reading very rough drafts of different books.

     Read for read is annoying especially is someone writes differently than you like to read or if their quality of writing is just over all different. I found that I was repeating the same advice to multiple different authors and when they replied to the comments, they were defensive and said their book was just fine. Ok.  When writers put their stuff out there, it will get comments and people will form opinions and post them. If someone you’re doing a read for a read with comments something you don’t like just say thank you and don’t argue.      I found these people through books and pages called Read for a Read. These books had tons of comments so I went through and messaged every single one of them. They answered and I learned a terrible lesson. I was swimming through pages of different books and it was awful. People were messaging me cryptically to ask if I looked at their book yet. This was not what I signed up for.      After asking one person who really didn’t like read for a read, I was advised to look at “Share your story” books and forums. I was also told to try entering contests and participating in forums. I will take this route and hope it’s less hectic. I was also advised by others that I should message people with common interests.
