No more Read for Read

     So after being on Wattpad for a bit, I realized that I needed more readers. This is when I started to go around asking people to check out my books. This summer I ended up reading over 30 book sin read for read exchanges. For any newcomers to Wattpad, don’t do this unless you’re okay with reading very rough drafts of different books.

     Read for read is annoying especially is someone writes differently than you like to read or if their quality of writing is just over all different. I found that I was repeating the same advice to multiple different authors and when they replied to the comments, they were defensive and said their book was just fine. Ok.  When writers put their stuff out there, it will get comments and people will form opinions and post them. If someone you’re doing a read for a read with comments something you don’t like just say thank you and don’t argue.      I found these people through books and pages called Read for a Read. These books had tons of comments so I went through and messaged every single one of them. They answered and I learned a terrible lesson. I was swimming through pages of different books and it was awful. People were messaging me cryptically to ask if I looked at their book yet. This was not what I signed up for.      After asking one person who really didn’t like read for a read, I was advised to look at “Share your story” books and forums. I was also told to try entering contests and participating in forums. I will take this route and hope it’s less hectic. I was also advised by others that I should message people with common interests.
