What brushes do you use?? I love the one you use to sketch
the pastel/charcoal brush yes? it's #1 on here but here's all the other i tend to use lately
Tumblr media
Blockaded Chalk Brush - (10 clippy points) im a one brush to rule them all kinda person so i use this for everything from sketch to rendering. you need good pressure and layer control to use it for blending and to carve out different values just using one color
Tumblr media
YN Stripes - (20 clippy points) i like comb brush blending, its a remnant of dragon age artstyle days. basically for soft transitions and to give texture
Tumblr media
Intoxicate Pencil Set - (free) very natural looking pencil brush, just as messy as the real thing
Tumblr media
Smooth Liner - (free) usual lineart brush. i can use this to mimic traditionally inked lines for digital corrections and additions
Tumblr media
Bear watercolor brush - (10 clippy) realistic watercolor brush and new bestfriend
Tumblr media
Line drawing pen - (thank you for finding the asset moonpaw my light and savior) basically its a feathery but sharp edged hard pen. i combine this with the watercolor brush to make it look like a messy gouache

✧.* some job searching advice *ೃ༄
I haven't coded in many manyy days oops BUT I have spent that time updating my resume and writing cover letters to send to some of my friends who are helping me with internal referrals!
Here's some job searching stuff I learned:
Most people get interviews because of connections/friends
Ask anyone and everyone you can for an internal referral (ask nicely ofc)
Once they submit the referrals make sure you start researching and learning about the company and what they do
If they have a specific product, make an account and play with it
Make a list of things you like about the service and things you would change
Recruiters/Interviewers LOVE to hear what you know and think about the companies product it gives you a HUGE adv over others
I know it feels like a ton of work but trust me QUALITY over QUANTITY when it comes to applying to jobs. Do your research!
For those of you in the job search good luck and I hope you get that job you want! (´・ᴗ・`)♡

I love how my school is like yeah these students are great so understanding so diverse they'll understand everyone's lives. Motherfricker no have you met these children? It's absolutely amazing we're all so diverse but none of these kids could even fathom what's it like to not be privileged. Heck they don't even understand mental illness/disabilities. Even though they probably have some kind of mental illness I'm just saying these kids are stressed 24/7 with overbearing parents and family/societal pressures. I'm glad we have "resources" but they don't apply to everyone. What about the kids who's parents/guardians won't let them? Do they have people that can help them that aren't white? A lot of us probably have racial trauma or just wouldn't feel comfortable talking about personal things to someone who isn't the same race cause of so many reasons. Same goes for religion (or those who don't or whatever they believe in) What we need are lessons that explain mental health and how to get help and foster empathy in detailed, engaging, consistent content. The resources they have should be accessible and applicable for everyone (or as much as they can)
Anyway that's my two cents

GUV
Can GUV revolutionize the world of public health?
Germicidal ultraviolet (GUV) is a range of light wavelengths capable of killing pathogens. Recent research indicates that implementing GUV in public spaces could reduce the transmission of respiratory viruses by 30% to 75% - a wide range but, overall, effective, especially with the many potential benefits.
Benefits
As ultraviolet light, GUV works through radiation; therefore, it is unintrusive and passive.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant portion of adults in the U.S.A. did not wear masks to reduce the spread of the virus. This resulted in many deaths and an acceleration of the virus’s mutation process. GUV does not require any action from the individual, reducing the harmful effects of disinformation and ignorance.
The COVID-19 pandemic also endured a period of rationing personal protective equipment (PPE), which increased health risks to medical personnel and patients around the world. Researchers have found GUV to be effective in killing the coronavirus and making PPE resusable.
GUV can also be used in addition to PPE to increase the sterility of medical rooms. In a study of a burn intensive care unit, GUV implementation led to an 89% decrease in airborne bacteria and a 69% decrease in surface-borne bacteria.
GUV targets a wide range of pathogens, both bacterial and viral, such as the multiple iterations of coronaviruses. Through mutation, many bacteria become drug resistant. By damaging nucleic acids, cellular building blocks, GUV is effective on even drug-resistant pathogens.
The ‘passive action’ of GUV makes it ideal for handling pandemics. While other interventions require development time, societal response, and ongoing maintenance when a new pathogen is identified, GUV can continually work in the background without continued interference.
This comes on the condition, of course, that we figure out a healthy way to use GUV.
Types of GUV
Because ultraviolet light can also have negative health effects, different forms of GUV are being studied for effectiveness and potential harm. The primary three investigated are full-room systems, upper-room systems, and in-duct systems.
Full-room GUV
A straightforward name, full-room GUV has UV-C lights on a ceiling or wall irradiating an entire room. When the room is unoccupied, this is an easy way to make the room safer from pathogens. This study gives the example of a surgery room after the surgeons and patient have left.
This variety does not work when the room is occupied. Continuous exposure to UV-C lights is harmful to the skin and eyes, making full-room GUV limited in its potential use.
Within this variety, far-UVC light might be the solution. The wavelength of far-UVC light can deactivate bacteria and viruses but cannot pass far enough into skin and eyes to cause damage.
Upper-room GUV
Upper-room GUV is also a complicated option. It sticks to the upper sections of a room, and thus doesn’t expose human skin to UV light. This also means it is less effective, because it isn’t targeting the areas of the room where transmission occurs.
Perhaps with additional airflow that directs airborne pathogens upwards, this method could be more effective.
In-duct GUV
Due to its removal from main occupied areas, in-duct GUV permits the use of stronger UV wavelengths against pathogens. This variety also requires good airflow and is even farther from transmission areas. It is considered inferior to the above two varieties.
Researchers are continuing to investigate the most effective and safe forms of GUV. Being able to widely implement this anti-bacterial and anti-viral strategy could immensely benefit public health and decrease the spread of an abundance of ailments. It could be useful in many ways in hospitals, doctors’ offices, and many public spaces as an unobtrusive aid.

searchengine dot com clicks search bar typing "how do i make peace with the fact that i am living a life that is the situation i was terrified of ending up in as a kid. how do i make peace with the fact that my younger self would've killed themself if they saw where we are now because the only reason they stayed alive was for a dream that has been relatively recently rendered impossible forever. how do i continue to pretend that i am just the same as everyone else and a-okay when i feel like i need to scream for help nearly constantly. how do i make peace with a situation that makes me feel nauseous to simply think about and remember i exist in."

ACLU: Know Your Rights
The ACLU has a list of what the police can and cannot do to you legally based on five common scenarios when you may encounter police (stopped in public versus in your car versus they’re at your door etc.) and also includes guidelines for how to navigate the encounter to minimize risk to yourself. You can also easily print each section and keep copies with you or hand them out or put them around town or school or whatever.
