oc-tober day 4 complete with iorek, one of my more under-appreciated ocs... underappreciated by me, of course 😭

iorek (pronounced yore-eck) is a iotere (pronounced yo-tare-ay). iotere are a serpent-like folk that live in vast cave systems on a planet with low gravity. their bony masks are the only truly hard parts of their body, and they can squeeze through any space they can fit their heads into. their diet largely consists of shellfish that live in underground aquifers.

iorek lives with my characters romsir, areson, xalei, and eno, but beyond that i haven't developed much of his character... i know he's quiet, stoic, and serves as a paternal figure due to his advanced age. but other than that he's got nothing 😵‍💫 go grandpa! i guess 😭

one of my fav things about watching older shows in an at-the-time contemporary setting is seeing all the old tech that was a part of everyday life. it's so fascinating how much is now obsolete but was so incredibly important for day to day use by people from all walks of life during that time period.

"mutants are poc analogy" "mutants are queer analogy" Listen, X-Men and as such mutants as a whole should really be disability representation, and I mean representation and not analougous to it they just occassionally also get to blast ice while having furniture not built for them, struggles with keeping their mind in the present, and constantly having people casually discuss sterilizing or euthanizing them and being considered either dangerous or simply incapable of understanding when they get mad about this. But nobody is ready for this conversation.

We’re back on the road, baby! Oh my god - I never expected I’d be writing for this specific series but well, now’s a good time as ever!

I’m going to be honest: this fanfic is dark and I wrote it to be spooky. It’s a horror au so, take what you get prrr. It’s my first time writing for the characters which means you might see some OOC’bess until I get comfortable. Also because this is also an AU and exploring things they obviously haven’t experienced, they’re going to react a bit… differently, you could say.

The chosen fandom is South Park. How to even begin to explain this fic- I call it an “analog horror” but it’s honestly less about lost media than it is about… hm, an unspecified entity (I can’t say what it is right now-) hunting the characters and well, there is a bit of character death.

Plot/Summary

October has returned to South Park, and of course this means the coming of the Fall Dance, where students can bring their dates to and participate in costume contests; high school was supposed to be different, but it seems something is lurking in the shadows, waiting, attempting to select its next target. Things are going bump in the night, and well, it’s only a matter of time before the students are dragged into the mouth of the tiger.

So, uh. I have a small confession to make?

I’ve been working on a South Park fic. Originally, the only thing I planned to work on was the request someone had sent in, but then I reached a dead end with a show for Whumptober and went around nearly four different medias before settling on South Park.

The request and this Whumptober prompt will be separate ideas.

However, if anyone’s curious about this odd, little AU i’m working, I’m more than willing to talk about it! I will warn you that it does fall under DD:DNE (Dead Dove) as a result of the content within it; what is tagged and then some is what you will see in the fanfiction. Since it’s spooky month, I figured why not write analog horror.

It’s intense and creepy, so- if that’s something you might want to know more about, I’ll share it once I finish my chores!
