last night, i just had a terrible nightmare where someone sent in a really long ask that was straight up hating and criticizing every part of my writing. calling out the insecurities/faults, plot inconsistencies, and insulting my writing style—
which i admit: yeah, it's wordy and really long, sometimes i focus too much on one scene or on the emotions solely, and i focus on every single detail; i'm a very emotional and hypersensitive person who likes to overanalyze on the scenes and characters. i acknowledge that it's unconventional and unprofessional at times; but it's what makes me happy and it's up to readers to continue reading or not despite the length. it's my own writing, i write content for free and everything i post are indulgent on my part, hence why i explicitly state i don't really wish for constructive criticism since again, it's all for free and it's all done for fun.
though, in that dream, it came to the point where the ask straight up told me i should just quit writing, that whatever i'm writing for is utter trash (overrated, it says. there are better writers out there and, yeah, i agree. i've the passion and drive but not so much for talent) and not worth the effort to read. so i did what was told and deactivated my account and went on to never write anymore fanfics after just how shaken up i was, then i woke up HAHAHAH.
and it genuinely felt so real, ngl. i couldn't get it off of my mind even until now, so here i am rambling about it. sorry if anyone expected me to post a drabble, or a fanfic; but right now i need more time to ponder upon whether or not i should change my writing style 'cause chapter five pt 2 will be posted soon but it's longer and who knows? maybe my worst nightmare may come true if i post it and it's subpar, not up to expectation.
and if people don't really wish for something long that borders on boring or filler scenes, then maybe, maybe not i will change how i write (but i probably won't lmao). either way, i have to remind myself that i am writing for myself, and posting it to simply archive in this account. i just hope people won't be as cruel as that mystery person in my dreams if i ever do
it's genuinely the audience's choice to read my works or not if the length or style bothers them. and as entitled as i may sound, i wish to remind some that writing a chapter with more than 10k words is my choice, and it's an arduous process too that takes hours of my time. writing fanfics is for me is purely indulgent and are reflections of my real life experiences, if it's lengthy, then yes i chose it to be, but it's not like i'm writing a thesis or an essay, i'm writing a goddamn fanfic with stereotypical tropes (most especially yandere) because it what makes me enjoy my passion as an author.
i apologize again for the long ramble, i really just need this out of my thoughts. this is my own blog too so yeah 😭. if you guys follow me solely for my fanfics, then filter out the "🍨... yael's talking" tag if you wish to avoid these types of talks.

Wanted to ask this for awhile but how come some of your characters get last names while others don’t? How come your jody character gets a last name but a character like eden doesn’t, is it a plot reasoning?
(( INCH RESTING QUESTION !!!!
Wasn’t expecting any munday stuff 2day so that’s why it’s taken me literally all day to answer apolOGIES FKFKKGKGKFKFJ
BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION….
A character of mine only receives last names if it’s… needed for the storyline!
For example, characters like Jody Bennet (ask-Scrafty), Jennifer Constalla (Ask-Wasteland-Labs), M Kirkland (tales-from-Kirkland) and Tide Wave (AskTideTheGastrodon)…. They are all from more structured Anthro Or civilized type universes!
A last name is more or less needed for a more human like or civilized setting. Because it’ll be used more for plot or general character dialogue!
Jennichu will have her name shown on various legal documents! Tide is a teacher so her students would call her by her last name, Ms.Wave! M is part of a well known family of pirates, so the name “Kirkland” is well known! And Jolene Bennet I am just very normal about so I have her entire legal name including last name very detailed and thought out because I am so normal about her.
But someone from like… asktauros! Doesn’t really need a last name? Tucker is a literal bull on a farm. Duskull from AskDuskull is just a little ghost guy! It’s not entirely needed information for them, so I don’t think about it!
OR there are characters like.. Flake from Flake-N-Rudy! Flake has a last name! Their full name is Fae “Flake” Byrd!
The legit only reason Flake has a last name is because I show their mothers gravestone and the setting is mildly more civilized. But I don’t really focus on that information, it’s not entirely relevant so I just don’t mention it a lot! So most don’t know/remember Flake’s last name because it’s just.. not really important? If that makes sense!
As for a case like Eden (since u mentioned him)… he IS in a more civilized setting BUT. He’s a mew, a legendary. I imagine legendaries don’t really have a need for last names? He is “Eden, son of palkia” and that’s his title. I don’t imagine that most legendaries need last names for that reasoning, they just state their title.
But Eden does need to blend in with mortals (or at least did originally) so wouldn’t he need a last name? Probably!! I didn’t really put much thought into that aspect so that’s just pure Author Negligence lmaO.
I’ve always called him Eden Mozzarella Cheese, for personal reasons. So maybe his canon last name is Mozzarella Cheese at this point???
ANYWAYS SORRY FOR RAMBLING @ YOU SO MUCH??? I have !! Words to say!! Always!!
But TLDR:
Characters of mine only receive last names if it is: Beneficial to the story or will be needed due to the setting. The range of importance depends on the setting/situation. Some may have one and it’s important, some may have one and it’s only mentioned once or twice and then some won’t get one at all!
But also!! Extra note!!! A character of mine is more likely to have a last name if they have a parent present. That way I can have their mommy yell their full legal name when they get into trouble. No I’m not joking I’ve sometimes only added a last name for this reasoning fkfk ))

Hii i absolutely love how you write all the characters! Could I request sonic, shadow, and knuckles, and how they would react to reader trying to hide a chao they brought home from them? 🩷
A/N: I loved this request so much!! I love the little chaos. I do apologize for how long it took!! 4 am shifts are not for the weak. but I hope this is good enough!!
sonic
you couldn’t help it. you couldn’t help that you brought the little thing home. you were simply enjoying a nice day out while sonic was doing his duty around town, helping people and defeating robotnik’s robots. sat out in the park, under the shade of a nice tree with a book in hand, listening to the sound of chattering and squealing children. and then a little chao wormed itself onto your lap, making itself comfortable.
you thought it was someone’s pet, but as you looked up and waited for a moment, you didn’t see any distressed owners scrambling to retrieve it. you didn’t remove it, you simply scratched it’s little head as you continued reading, enjoying the new company as you wasted a couple of hours there. but then it was time to go home, and when you slid the chao off your lap and moved to stand; it quickly clung onto your leg, it’s eyes dropped sadly and sad little sounds leaving its mouth.
and how could you leave it alone after that? you folded up your blanket and tucked it under your arm before scooping up the chao in your other arm. it quickly snuggled into your neck and let out contented little ‘chao’ sounds, and it only made you melt further. you booked it back home before your rational side could tell you otherwise to keeping it.
that is what has led you to now, with the chao curled in a nest of blankets you put underneath your desk to hide her; a her, you had determined after some time on the internet as you also searched for chao care. it seemed simple enough, and she already seemed to like you, so it would only make it easier on your end. she was very pliant when you had cleaned her and gave her something to nibble on. the only issue was now she was very clingy. which, fair.
but when you had tried to walk off to try and make yourself seem normal for when sonic came home, it let out little distressed noises and scrambled from its spot under your desk to cling to your leg. you tried once more to leave her and it only resulted in the same thing. you tried to soothe her, stroke her little head and it only seemed to make her more fussy.
“ I’ll be back soon, I promise. “ you spoke softly, wrapping your hands around her and lifting her to eye level, “ you’re just.. a sudden thing, that’s all - but I promise, you’re not staying in here forever. now be a good girl, and stay, okay? “ she listened intently, as if processing your words, and reluctantly she shuffled back to her little nest when you set her down. you let out a huff of relief before stepping out of the room.
sonic returned only moments after, where you had yourself seated on your couch. he greeted you with his usual bright grin and a kiss to your head, which you leaned into. you stood to trail after him into the kitchen, as he moved to grab himself a snack.
“ so - what’d you do today, babe? “ he asked as he pulled pulled out of the fridge with an apple in hand, biting into it. you have a small shrug.
“ nothing much.. just went to the park to read for a little while. “ you replied, sounding as nonchalant as you could muster, “ it was nice out and I didn’t want to waste it inside. I actually managed to get far in the book - “ he hummed as he nodded, listening intently. he knew most of the things you did weren’t as daring and exciting as his own; but he always listened.
you rambled away about the current events in your book. you were so focused on explaining the details to him, recounting what you had told him about it before along with the new unfolded events, you didn’t even notice his focus had trailed away from you and to a the little creature scurrying it’s way towards you. a smile tugged at his lips at the sight, his head craning in curiosity at the little chao. you were about to scold him for not paying attention when you felt a grasp at your leg.
“ brought a friend home? “ you jumped and looked down, the chao looking up at you with wide eyes and a pout. clearly, she was displeased for being left along for more than 5 minutes. you couldn’t bother to be upset with her. she had just found a home, of course you should have known she would be clingy!
“ yes. “ you sighed defeatedly, lifting her into your arms and cradling her to your chest, soft sounds coming from her as she made herself comfy, “ she kinda.. joined me while I was reading today. and I tried to leave, but she wouldn’t let me go, and you should’ve seen her face I couldn’t leave her! and she’s been so sweet and cuddly and - “ he cut you off with a laugh, making his way over.
“ hey, hey! calm down, (y/n) I was only teasing. “ he looked down at the chao, taking a closer look at her. with the hand not holding his snack, he gently brushed the backs of has fingers against her head, and she cooed as she leaned into it, “ she is a cutie, isn’t she? “
“ I know I should’ve asked first but I couldn’t leave her behind.. “ sonic gave a small shake of his head.
“ nah, I always expected this sorta thing from you. surprised it didn’t happen sooner! “ he snickered, kissing your cheek, “ I’m not gonna make you take her back or something. we’ll take good care of her. “ his arm snaked around you and tugged you into his side, and you let out a sigh as you leaned into him. you should’ve expected him to be understanding.
“ we’ll be like parents! “ he exclaimed suddenly in revelation, and you elbowed him with a snort, “ c’mon, isn’t that a fun thought? she’s our little baby! “
“ sonic, shut up. “
shadow
you were much too easily persuaded, and one day it would be the death of you. you were having a little shopping day out in town, enjoying the sunlight and a day off of work; drink in hand and sunglasses over your it eyes. and then a quaint little pet shop caught your eye. it stopped you in your tracks and you peered inside to see little domesticated chaos in little pens, walking about and playing with one another. you would have simply cooed and continued on had it not been for the fact one certain one had caught your eye.
a black and red chao, sat on its lonesome in a corner. it had its little arms crossed over it’s chest and a grumpy look on it’s face; and by chaos it reminded you of shadow. you were walking into the shop before you could think twice. you asked if you could carry the chao, and after warning you he wasn’t kind to many; you insisted. they relented.
they scooped up the chao, who immediately squirmed around in an attempt to be released before handing him towards you. you gently soothed him and stroked your hand over his head, and he continued to squirm before slowing down at your movements. he seemed to want to hate it, but was quickly melting before he could convince himself otherwise.
you stayed for a good hour with the little guy, holding him close and murmuring little compliments and praises on how cute he was and how sweet he was being. you were sure he had dozed off but you didn’t want to check. the employees began to convince you to take him home since he seemed to like you, and it was rare for him to ever come across someone he liked. you tried to object, you couldn’t! not so suddenly, and not without shadow knowing!
then you were walking out with your wallet emptier than when you came in and the chao in one arm and a bag of necessities in your other. even when he was sleeping he looked grumpy, and you could cry with how cute he was.
but now you were stuck on how to tell shadow. you hadn’t been living together for too long; and now suddenly you were springing up a pet for you to care for together. what if he made you return him? what if they didn’t get along? you couldn’t bear to part with the chao now that you bonded with him!
you set the bag down by the couch and sat yourself down, holding the chao in your lap. he glared up at you; now that you think about it, it might’ve just been his resting face; and you looked down at him. his little hands were grasping onto your thumbs and you had to bite your lip to keep the grin off your face. both your heads jerked to the door as you heard the doorknob jingling as the lock turned.
you quickly moved to set the chao down on the other side of the couch, hidden out of you. you pressed your finger to your lip in a ‘hush’ motion, whispering to him, “ stay here, okay? don’t move. “ and you attempted to appear nonchalant as you turned on the tv, pretending to be intrigued by whatever was playing. you had barely made it as shadow stepped inside.
he stared at you for a moment as he took in your appearance, and his eyes flitted to the tv. he rose a brow.
“ I thought you didn’t like this show. “ you cursed yourself mentally as it was indeed a show you could care less for. you just shrugged and replied.
“ I’m giving it one more shot. how was work? “ you twisted to look his way, focusing on him now.
“ same as usual. “ he replied as monotone as ever, eyes trailing slowly around the living room, “ how was your day? “
“ more or less the same. I went out window shopping, mostly; bought a drink and a sweet from some new shop. we should go together sometime, I think you’d like it. “ you hummed, distracted by your own recollection of today’s events.
“ and nothing else? “ he responded, his arms crossing over his chest. you blinked as you looked up at him.
“ what do you mean? “ shadow sighed and his eyes drifted to the bag you’d forgotten by the couch, and as you peered over you could see the ‘how to care for a chao’ pamphlet peeking out. you cursed and slumped over, “ listen - it was a sporadic thing. when you see him you’ll understand. “
you shifted to the end of the couch and peeked over, only to see he was gone. you jumped up and looked around. shadow watched as you frantically looked behind the couch and under the coffee table.
“ you’ve already lost him? “ he scoffed, but joined you in looking around the living room. no way he already disappeared like that! you groaned and stood, taking another look around before pausing as shadow had bent down to peek into the cabinets of the your tv stand. there was the little chao, grasping onto shadow’s quills and looking rather proud of himself. you snorted and covered your mouth, gaining your boyfriend’s attention.
“ what? “ he huffed, “ what are you laughing at. “
“ don’t move. “ you laughed as you made your way over, and carefully worked the chao’s hands from his quills in order to not pluck any out of his head. shadow looked over as you held the chao in your hands, an amused smile on your lips and a mischievous one on the chao’s, “ looks like someone snuck up on you! “
he stared down at the chao, and you couldn’t determine his expression; it was slowly making you worried. did the little stunt upset him? oh surely he’d make you send him back now. you instinctively held the chao closer as you waited for his reaction.
he then let out a huff through his nose, a small smirk twitching at the corner of his lips.
“ not bad. “ he nodded, and with a finger he gently scratched the head of the chao, who leaned into it with a little wiggle, “ don’t try and keep secrets from me next time, (y/n). we both know it’s futile. “ you huffed and smiled, shrugging.
“ I was gonna tell you eventually. “
“ sure. “ he hummed, turning away to make his way to your shared room.
“ but don’t let him do that again. if he manages to sneak up behind me around company, I’ll never hear the end of it. “
knuckles
it truly was an accident. for the past week, you had a chao in your basement. not in a neglectful way, of course! but more so in a ‘at first it was a wild chao who accidentally wormed its way through your basement window and when you gave it a snack to eat it refused to leave’ sort of way. and so now, it was your pet that wasn’t your pet. you went down now and then to feed it and give it water and it would even let you pet it.
it really was warming up to you more than when it first arrived! at first it refused to get near you, but as you continued to give it food and spoke to it from several feet away, it would nudge closer and closer, until it finally allowed you to stroke it’s head, and only for a few minutes. then it would scurry away again.
knuckles certainly didn’t know. he didn’t care much for the basement. the garage was his area, where he would work out and do whatever it is he entertained himself with, and he never questioned how often you would visit the basement. he always gave you your freedom and space in the things you did. sometimes too much.
you had spent the day out getting more things for the chao, having did research and getting an understanding of what they needed. you returned with multiple bags in hand, and after peeking around to see if knuckles was around to see - he wasn’t - you crept over to the basement door and pulled it open. you made your way down almost too excitedly as you called for the chao, cooing to it.
and it quickly stopped as you saw knuckles seated in the middle of the basement, the chao curled in it’s lap and snoozing away. you gaped at the sight and knuckles looked up at you with a grin, waving.
“ (y/n)! “ he cheered, “ you’ve arrived! did you see the little chao? I assumed he was wild, though he is very well fed. and he is very affectionate! “ you set the bags down, slowly making your way over. the chao was woken up by knuckles’ shout, and squirmed out of his lap to make his way to you.
“ oh - he seems to enjoy your presence as well! “ you sat down as you cradled the chao close, stroking his head, “ much more than mine. what do you plan to do with him? “
“ keep him. “ you responded, shifting slightly, “ I um.. already kinda knew he was down here. for a week already. “ you admitted as you averted your eyes.
“ you did not tell me? “
“ I was going to! I just didn’t know how, yknow? and you care a lot about the nature of things so, I didn’t think you would let me keep him - but I really wanted to keep him, and he wanted to stay.. “ you sighed, motioning to the bags you set down with your head, “ I was out buying things for him, to take care of him properly. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. “
knuckles shifted closer to you until he was at your side, and he set his hand on your shoulder.
“ you should not have feared telling me. in fact, I’m very proud of you. “ you looked up and tilted your head.
“ you are? “
“ yes! you are correct, i do care for the way that nature already is, but it seems this chao has chosen you. and you did the proper research to take care of him! you put thought and care into this idea, even if it was unintended in the beginning. I’m proud of you. “ you blushed lightly and smiled, looking down.
“ you’re too sweet, knucks.. “ you mumbled, and leaned into his side, “ thanks.. I don’t know what I’d do without your support. “
“ you are a very intelligent person, (y/n). I have faith in the decisions you make. you always figure it out in the end. “ knuckles rose to his feet to fetch the bags, and began to make his way upstairs.
“ where are you going? “ you called out to him, still holding the chao as you stood at the foot of the steps
“ well, we are not keeping the chao down there! he will be sharing the room with us! come on! “

body slammer II a.russo
alessia was dancing like a mad woman beside ella in the poolside beach club, her carefree good mood fueled by many cocktails and the company of some of her best friends in the off season during a well earned little vacation.
it felt like years since she had been able to take a proper break and go on holiday, and to do it with the girls she hardly ever got to see all together from multiple aspects of her life only made it all the more enjoyable and easy for her to let loose knowing everyone was actually gettin along.
“less i’m gonna grab another one! you good?” ella yelled to her, cupping her hand around her ear due to deafening house music pumping around them.
“yeah i’m still goin!” alessia confirmed, yelling back and holding up her drink she’d only taken a few sips out of, the shorter girl beside her sending her a toothy grin and thumbs up before melting away into the crowd.
looking around and spotting the rest of their group not too far away alessia started to make her way over there, mumbling apologies as she elbowed her way through the throng of drunken party goers.
she had almost made it to her friends when she felt someone slam into her back, sending her hurtling forward and meaning her own body smacked into someone else’s, her drink going all over them as alessias eyes widened.
she opened her mouth to immediately ramble out a hasty apology but as the girl she’d just accidentally swilled turned around alessia seemingly went mute, apology drying up on her tongue before she could make it.
the girl was gorgeous, and it had alessia feeling light headed in a way she knew wasn’t just the alcohol currently pumping through her.
“i am so so sorry!” the blonde finally managed to spit out, the mystery girl simply grinning at her. “don’t be. i’d never wear anything here i didn’t expect to be covered in some sort of liquid, its like a zoo in there!” she laughed nodding behind alessia to the thickening crowd of sweaty bodies building behind her.
“you’re telling me, though i think whoever just rammed me might have actually realigned my spine?” alessia joked, stomach fluttering as she was rewarded with a loud bout of laughter from the girl in front of her.
“sounds like you should go thank them! chiropractors don’t come cheap you know.” the girl teased, her nose scrunching up as she grinned and alessia once more swooned.
“can i buy you another drink?” the blonde moved a little closer due to the noise and offered sincerely. “you’re offering to get me a drink when you just spilled yours?” you asked with an amused smile, alessia’s cheeks flushing red with embarrassment as she nodded none the less.
“you’re cute. i should go find my friends before one of them disappears in there, once calvin harris starts later i fear i may not ever be able to get them back.” you’d grinned, and before alessia could even say another word you’d pressed a kiss to her cheek and you were gone, leaving the blonde tenderly touching her face which burned where your lips had just been.
with a deflated huff she dumped her now empty cup onto a nearby table and continued on her way to find her friends, throwing herself down onto a sun lounge.
“woah now! we’re in ibiza baby, why the long face?” katie asked as she sat down beside the blonde. “i bumped into a cute girl, spilled my drink all over her and didn’t even get her name before she dissapeared!” alessia groaned, dragging her hands down her face before flicking her sunglasses off the top of her head and sliding them onto the bridge of her nose.
“i’ll say it again we’re in ibiza russo there’s loads of fit girls around, go find someone else to dance and flirt with!” katie shouted, handing the blonde her drink to finish off and running away after vic who snatched her sunglasses off her head.
sculling the last few mouthfuls of the lukewarm tequila alessia winced at the alcohol burning it’s way down her throat before deciding to heed anna’s words.
she grabbed ella’s hand as her friend returned, dragging them both back onto the dance floor.
but hard as she tried to dance and drink the afternoon away to forget you, you were a thought that consistently lingered in the back of alessia’s mind.
which is why when she heard someone call out her name and quickly turned, knocking into someone who stood a lot closer than she had bargained, alessias hands quickly steadying them as they slipped, a smile tugged at her lips seeing she had once again bumped into you, literally.
“i’m beginning to think you’re doing this on purpose now!” you teased, alessia instantly noticing you’d ditched the top she’d spilled her drink all over last time and your top half was now only just covered by a bright green bikini. it took all of her willpower to focus her eyes on you and not your partially exposed chest.
“no i think this time’s on you!” alessia grinned, her left hand resting on your waist where she’d grabbed at you to stop you from falling over. “alessia.” the blonde removed her hand from your side and held it out with a beaming white toothed smile as she introduced herself.
“then consider us even!” you winked, cheekily snatching her drink from her right hand and once again melting away into the crowd.
“hey! you pinch my drink and i don’t even get to know your name?” alessia didn’t let you get away so easily this time, shouldering her way over to you and slinging an arm lazily around your waist to stop you from running away again.
“i believe in fate alessia, so let’s see if this happens again then and maybe you can get my name if you’re lucky.” you shamelessly flirted, sending her one more wink and again kissing her cheek before charging off after your friends into the crowd.
“unbelievable.” alessia threw her head back with a groan before hands fell to her shoulders and her friends surrounded her, dragging her away with them as the sun began to set, bathing the cluster of drunken sweaty bodies below in a golden orange glow.
deciding that it clearly wasn’t meant to be, alessia didn’t even know your name let alone if you were into girls, she forced you once again to the back of her mind, throwing down shots and cheering loudly as they announced calvin harris.
“let’s go!” hands intertwined with hers as her group pushed in closer toward the stage, alessia almost tripping over her own feet she was tugged aggressively into the crowd, though she waved it off with a tipsy laugh as she hugged her friends and whooped loudly as the familiar bass started to boom beneath their feet.
the set was halfway through when alessia once again spotted you, huddled a few feet away inbetween a group of girls and throwing your head back with a laugh as one of them poked at you, twirling you around and forcing alessia ignored the weird jealous clenching of her stomach at the sight.
she heard her friends yell out for her as she began to break away from them, fueled by tequila shots and liquid confidence she shrugged off their hands and made a beeline toward you.
unbeknownst to alessia you’d already spotted her a few moments earlier, yelling in your friends ear that the girl you’d been flirting with before had indeed found you again like you hoped.
which was why it came as no surprise to you when your best friend twirled you around, “accidentally” shoving you backwards and sending your body hurtling into alessia’s whose hands again grabbed protectively at your hips to stop you from taking the two of you down onto the ground.
“we simply have to stop meeting like this.” you grinned, your friend winking at you from behind the blonde and holding her drink up in a silent cheers before turning away back to your group.
“third time seems the charm then, i’m alessia.” the taller girl wasted no time introducing herself again, knowing it meant you would need to finally reveal your own name.
“so you already said.” you teased, purposefully not giving in to what you knew she was after and watching the girl in front of you shake her head with a knowing smirk.
“it’s not nice to lie, i believe you said if this happened again i’d finally get your name.” alessias body pressed in closer to yours, her hand moving to sit at the small of your back as your own stomach now fluttered.
“I said if you were lucky!”
“well i’m certainly feeling lucky. if i do get your name then maybe you’ll be forgiven for stealing two drinks from me.”
“stealing two drinks? i think you’ll find i’m the one whose still owed an apology body slammer!”
“give me your name and maybe you’ll get a third drink and an apology.” alessia bargained, tilting her head with a sly grin as you shook your own in amusement.
“y/n.” you finally revealed, someone knocking into you from behind meaning you were thrust even closer into alessia, both of you now chest to chest as you both shared a smile, clearly not minding.
“come on then body slammer.” you grabbed her hand tugging her with you as alessia laughed at her apparent new nickname, the music getting louder and louder as pushed deeper into the crowd.
alessia tensed in surprise as you stopped and grabbed her hands, placing them on you as you started to dance, purposefully pressing yourself into her.
recovering from the brief shock the blonde wasted no time in pulling your body tightly into hers, the two of you grinding against one another to the beat, surrounded by hundreds of drunken party goers all doing the same.
by the third song you’d turned so the two of you were now dancing face to face and alessia couldn’t help but find her eyes flickering down to your lips every few seconds, a habit which didn’t go unnoticed to you as your arms wrapped around the back of her neck.
the two of you now locked eyes and you nodded reassuringly as the taller girl leant down but paused briefly, craning your neck to meet her halfway, both of your stomachs doing backflips as your lips met.
neither one of you sober it didn’t take long until the kiss became a little sloppy, alessia ramming her tongue down your throat as you held back a moan and forced yourself to pull away.
over her shoulder you noticed one of your friends frantically waving toward you, struggling to hold up your best friend who had clearly had too much to drink, signalling they were leaving.
leaning in again you shouted your phone number into the blondes ear, removing her hands from where they’d wandered dangerously low down your body and striding off toward your friends without another word, leaving the striker positively dumbstruck behind you.
“i better get a message body slammer, you still owe me that third drink, and an apology!” you turned to call out teasingly toward her, alessias once defeated expression quickly brightening as she scrambled to pull her phone out of her bag.
and it was safe to say you most certainly did get a message, and it was far from the last you saw of the blonde.

Hey Beans-
Hey beans, I have a bit of a hellish update.
Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life. My grandma made a huge fight happen while I was on call with a friend, and things just escalated between me and her so badly I had to leave. When I came back home, my family was also on my ass about it all, despite knowing how she lies and how she instigates.
She threatened to hit me, she threatened to kill Sammy, she hurled insult after insult at me and this all started because I didn't get up in time to do something she asked (Which was locking the door. I waited three seconds too long and she went off).
When I came back after trying to let things cool down I was berated and told I had no right to be so “selfish” in the house, so on and so on, and the fight got so intense I had to just physically walk away, leaving the home and going two miles up the road because I did not feel safe.
They made me so sick I began to pee blood again, as well as my sugar spiking and causing me to have palpitations. My heart cannot take this stress anymore, and neither can my mental health. I wish I could explain how bad the situation was. I had tears down my face, gasping for air, chest heaving and in pain, I felt like I was on the verge of passing out.
I got in contact with some good friends of mine, who say they can help get me out of not only that home, but the entire state i'm in. But I need money to do so, for travel and gas and so on. As much as they can house me, they need me to pull my weight.
I hate having to ask for help, I hate that I'm even in this situation, to the point I'm so sick I might have to be seen in the ER or sent to ICU.
I need to come up with 700 dollars, and I'm willing to do some commissions, but with how sick I am I may take a bit to get back with you. I plan to leave by early June, if not the beginning of July, as that's when my friends are able to drive down and get me.
Donations are greatly appreciated, even if you can only afford a single dollar, it’ll be more help than you know.
If you’re wanting a commission, please don't send money and then ask, for your sake and mine. I’m incredibly overwhelmed, and I’ll do my best to get with you and explain rates.
And if you’re willing to donate anything, here’s my Ko-fi link.
Again, I can’t thank you enough for if you donate or even spread this post around, even well wishes mean the world to me because I know you beans care and want to help however you can.
This post was incredibly hard to make, I’m still all over the place and trying to figure everything out, so I apologize if this sounds like rambling and nonsense. There is a silver lining however, as I actually have a way out this time, and I pray I can get out before things can get worse.

Wait because why do I need to hear more about college lando like I feel like he would be into corrupting his innocent friend IDK MAYBE IM JUST SELF PROJECTING AT THIS POINT
Sorry if this didn’t make sense bonbon I’m running off like an hour of sleep 😭
-🎃
no no dont apologize! 🎃 anon you are onto something here ok
bon's thoughts (18+)
collegeau!lando. ok im writing this and had like the filthiest thought come into my mind oh my goddd but i can see you being top of the class, sitting in the front and answering all the questions in class. lando's sitting in the back, sleeping most of the time but there's rare occasions when you drag him to the front and he watches you raise your hand and ask questions that impresses the professors. he's a bit jealous, but then realizes that instead of trying to be like you, why couldn't you be more like him?
you're so innocent and sweet, it all comes to plan when he invites you to the library late at night. you never went to the library at night, only the morning because you always rambled on about how 8 hours of sleep was required for a good day. he reasons that its a friday night, it's ok and that was the only reason you show up in the private study room. you open the door and see him stroking his cock, eyes glued on his laptop as he's taking notes.
"lando?" you frown, eyes traveling to his hard cock. he waves at you, greeting you with a smile, though you can't seem to understand what he's doing, "lando what's going on?"
"oh, this? this helps me study!" he smiles, going back to stroking his cock as he's reading the notes you sent him earlier in the day. you frown,
"really? i know almost every study technique, i-i've never heard of this," you reply, tilting your head to get a better look at him.
"that's because only i use this technique, i found it out one day but i can't seem to perfect it. i just... i just think im not good at it. could you help me out?" lando asks, and you nod your head. you'd do anything to help your friend!
he directs you to your knees, and has you under the table. he's this close to giggling, he can't believe how innocent you are... how stupid you could be to let him do this to you! this is so much fun to him, and he presses his thumb into your mouth, opening it gently before guiding you down on his cock. he nearly cums right there, your mouth feels like heaven. he's having you suck his cock the whole night, your throat is covered in just his cum and when it's around 5 am, you're whining about how he ruined your sleep schedule.
"but you helped me study!" he exclaims and you shrug your shoulders,
"I guess so... as long as it helps you to study."
and so for the rest of the semester (and maybe for the rest of your years at uni) every friday night consists of you sucking on lando's cock, he even goes so far as to have your pussy wrapped around him as he's fucking into you like a madman, refusing to elaborate how exactly this benefitted his studying but you're very thankful that his grades are improving, somehow.
you're still top of the class, don't worry about that, lando would never ruin your education like that. but it was really funny to see you sitting in the front row with his cum dripping down your thighs, cock drunk to the max because now you're insisting you can only study with his cock stuffed inside your cunt.
that's a win for him.

RANT TO ME, I LIKE THE SOUND…
— charlie + angel + alastor talking about their day, completely absorbed when they look at you, completely smitten
— masc!reader (angel)
Tumblr media
— charlie
“and then, he kicked me out of the room! can you fucking believe him?!” charlie grumbled, ranting about her meeting with adam as you brushed her hair. “i swear… i’ll go to heaven and i’ll make them listen” she sighed determinedly.
“and… after that—“ charlie wandered off again, thoughts interrupted when she no longer felt the bristles against her hair and instead, you face on her shoulder, hugging her waist from behind.
“oh… are you tired? i..i’m sorry if i was talking too much…” she awkwardly laughed. “no, don’t apologize, babe… keep talking, i like the sound.” you sighed as you kissed her on the cheek.
charlie’s heart tightened at what you had said. you like to listen to her ranting… you’ll have no idea how much it means to her; for you to not dismiss her ramblings, but instead listen closely.
“are you sure you’re not tired though?” she asked one last time. “nuh-uh, i’m wide awake, see?” you said before tickling her at the back of her neck, her ticklish spot.
“agh! noo, i believe you!” charlie screamed out, trying to get herself free from your grip around her waist. “stop! i believe you, no more!!” she cried out as you laughed, stopping your antics.
Tumblr media
— angel
“today, val was a complete dickhead, i swear…” angel frowned, hugging fat nuggets in his top two arms and hugging you in his lower two. “today, he had me filming a bunch’a back shots while getting my hair pulled…” he sighed grimly, pulling you closer as your hands moved to his hair, carefully massaging it.
“are you okay?” you asked worriedly. “‘course i am, you’re here” angel grinned sappily. “afta’ that, cherri and i went drinking at that new club. i didn’t have buy any drugs today, i spent all my money on shots…”
“i’m proud of you, babe. you’re getting better.” you smiled, looking at him lovingly. “ya really think so?” he asked hopefully. “i know so. you’re already doing so well.” you ran your thumb against his cheek.
angel’s shoulders relaxed under your touch as he buried himself deeper in your touch. “love ya so much, babe.” angel smiled, eyes growing heavy.
“i love you too, angie. keep talking if you wanna, i like your pretty mouth.” you said, pulling him closer as you kissed his head.
Tumblr media
— alastor
“so, then i headed to the tailor’s… they fixed my coat and when i came out, eugh…” alastor groaned in disgust, telling you about today as he sat by the fireplace in the hotel den. “vox was on various of those picture boxes, singing about how i am ‘outdated’.”
“and, as per expected, his modern technology failed and caused a blackout across the city!” he chuckled to himself. “you don’t think i’m outdated, do you, love?” alastor looked up, seeing you on the sofa as you stare at him, listening to his words intently.
“dear? are you even listening?” he smugly grinned. “of course i am…” you frowned. “i’m just… admiring you, i guess.”
“oh, are you now?” he sighed at your little lovey-dovey habits. “yeah… i like your voice, it’s soothing…” you blushed. “you find my voice comforting?” he asked. “how interesting, perhaps i’ll decide to ramble to you more often.” he grinned, closing his book.
he got up from his seat and over to you as he pulled you close by your shoulder. “now, back to my question— you don’t think i am outdated, do you?” he raised an eyebrow. “of course not…” you said. “hmph, good.” he nodded as he laid your head on him.

just figured out what made the whole interaction between jayce and viktor in the "im from the undercity" scene so good. when jayce sets up the blockades and viktor 'violates' it (technically he doesnt because he went down before they were put up but then he does because he needs to get back up and the blockades are there and... i mean kinda but not really? anyways im rambling).
when viktor asks jayce "and what difference does that make?" his voice isn't accusatory, its genuine 'why does it matter that theyre from the undercity?' there's trust in it. trust in jayce to be different from the other piltovians when it comes to the undercity because jayce is his friend and he's jayce's. because viktor's from the undercity, something that jayce knows.
so he's actually curious. is there something going on in the undercity that he doesn't know? is it for his protection? there's innocence and there's trust in viktor's question and his voice, its not accusatory because once again he trusts jayce. but jayce tears that down within moments.
"why does it matter?- they're dangerous" and that's the moment viktor's voice hardens because that's the moment jayce 'proves' in some form that he does have some sort of systemic classism/racism (kinda) in him. someone that he's trusted and built this friendship with just called him dangerous but to viktor that doesnt really matter (or at least i think).
because jayce just put a stereotype on everyone in the undercity, the very people who viktor is so adamant on trying to help and when viktor says "im from the undercity" he's making a point. 'if everyone there is so dangerous then i guess i am too right?' is what he's asking and that's when jayce backs off and apologizes. when he tries to help viktor up (who we know is dying like keep in mind jayce saw him in the hospital practically the other day) but viktor rejects his hand.
there's genuine conflict and tension here especially when viktor asks the question we as the audience most likely already know what jayce is going to say next will upset viktor but he doesnt know that and the minute that it is finally said from jayce viktor's demeanor changes.
the trust that these two have in each other only for fragments of it to be broken in a single scene. that's what makes this all so powerful, also its the reason that viktor experiments alone so... rip sky ig-

You couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment you fell in love with Joel Miller. But as you lay here, Joel's hands soaked in your blood as he attempted to stop it from pulsating out of your abdomen, you knew it was love that you were feeling. It was supposed to be simple. After your brief stay in Jackson, the two of you were supposed to take Ellie to the fireflies. Yet, nothing seemed to be simple these days, especially not around this girl.
In the amount of time the three of you had spent together, you developed an unbreakable bond. Ellie became a sort of surrogate sister to you- you’d lost your family when you were just a kid during the outbreak and you never had the chance to become a big sister. At least not for long. And then there was Joel. You weren’t quite sure what he meant to you yet, but you’d be lying if you said you wouldn’t die for him. For both of them, really- a life without them wasn’t worth living. Of course, you never planned on telling them that.
The day started fairly nice- with Joel allowing Ellie to make her own decision about who would be taking her to the fireflies. Sure, you and Ellie would be fine with Tommy, but Joel had failed to consider the bond the three of you shared when making this decision. He was thinking of only himself and his fear- this is what you had told him last night after his fight with Ellie.
“What the hell was that?” you asked him after he stormed out of Ellie’s temporary room.
“It was nothin’. Doesn’t concern you,” he replied, brushing past you as he made his way to the couch where he decided to set up camp for the night.
“Um, it sure as hell does concern me, Joel. Are you seriously going to abandon us? After everything we’ve been through, after how much that girl trusts you, Joel!” you raised your voice a bit, trying to keep yourself from alerting Ellie upstairs. Those words stung him a bit. He didn’t see it as abandonment- he saw it as protection. After everything you went through together, he never once put himself first.
“She doesn’t know a thing about what this means,” Joel turned to you. “She- she’s just a kid, she-” he stopped himself, trying to gather himself. “I can’t bring her. I’m not capable, I’m slowin’ down and I just can’t. Do. It,” he exhaled, dropping himself onto the couch.
“Wow,” you replied, softly sitting next to him. “You’re really underestimating yourself,” you sighed, Joel, lifting his face to look at you. “I mean, not only yourself but me, Joel. In case you’d forgotten, I’ve gotten myself through some tough shit. And Ellie? Man, she's the toughest kid I’ve ever met. Hell, she's one of the toughest people I’ve ever met,” you said, observing Joel’s worn face. “I mean… don't you think she at least deserves a choice?” you asked, hoping to convince Joel to come to his senses and realize who he was.
“I’ll take the couch. Bedrooms down the hall,” he grumbled before turning his back to you and lying down. There was nothing left you could say at this point, so you decided to spare yourself and make your way to the bedroom. The bed was pretty big. It could’ve fit two people.
The moment you saw Joel in the stables the next morning, you could feel your heart soar. Before he said a word, you knew he had made the right decision. The three of you squeezed onto the horse, Ellie sandwiched in the middle, and you were off. You and Joel sat in peaceful silence for a while, occasionally responding to Ellie’s rambling to show you were listening. Before you knew it, you were arriving at the so-called firefly base.
“What the fu-” you started.
“Holy shit! Are those monkeys?” Ellie exclaimed, pointing at the crowd of animals before you.
“Must be from the old labs,” Joel muttered, a hint of interest in his voice
“Look at them go!” you giggled.
“First time seein’ a monkey?” Joel asked the two of you.
“First time seein' a monkey,” you replied in unison, both awestruck. A smile crept onto Joel's face at this- the togetherness he felt in rare moments like this is what kept him going.
You soon came across the fireflies symbol painted on a couple of signs, but no guards appeared nearby. You all dismounted the horse before making your way inside, guns drawn. You in the back, Joel in the front, and Ellie sandwiched between yet again. The building you came across was abandoned from the looks of it, with papers scattered about.
“They just left,” Joel said, coming across a packing list among the scattered supplies. You suddenly heard a clang from another room, drawing your attention.
“Maybe not all of them,” you replied as the three of you carefully moved towards the sound. Your heart picked up its pace- whatever was in that room couldn’t be a firefly. Maybe a raider, you thought, which didn’t help your anxieties. Joel put a finger to his lips before opening the door, signaling for your silence. Relief rushed through you as you saw the source of the noise was just a few stray monkeys. It was only moments later that you heard voices- voices that certainly didn’t come from an animal. Peering out the window, the three of you saw a group of men, presumably raiders.
“Shit,” you murmured, instinctively grabbing Ellie’s arm.
“Out the back,” said Joel, leading the way for the three of you to make your escape. You ducked behind some sandbags for a moment before making your break to the horse. As Joel untied the horse, you heard footsteps quickly making their way over to you.
“Joel!” Ellie screamed as the man swung his bat at his head, hitting it on a tree and breaking it in two. While Joel dodged his attack you jumped on the man and banged him into the tree behind him before he knocked you back on your ass, banging your head on the ground. You’ve had your fair share of concussions, and you knew that's exactly what just happened to you. Joel quickly recovered from the first attack before grabbing the man, a wave of anger in his eyes as you’ve never seen before. His arm tightened around the man's throat, unrelenting in its strength. Struggle as he may, it wasn’t long before his neck was snapped. You remain on the ground, adrenaline pumping through your veins as you look at Ellie, shakily holding her gun. Her eyes darken as they shift down to your stomach. Your eyes follow hers and you finally see what she’s looking at. When the man hit the bat into the tree, it must've snapped in half. One half was on the ground a few feet away from you, while, unfortunately, the other half was buried in your stomach.
“Shit,” Ellie said, lowering her gun and walking over to you. Your hand reached down, adrenaline still pumping through your body, and you instinctively pulled the wooden piece out of your abdomen. You barely even felt it. Joel was silent the entire time, and you couldn’t quite tell what he was thinking. You threw it aside before noticing three more men coming your way. As fast as possible, Joel hiked himself up onto the horse and grabbed you while Ellie pushed from the ground before pulling herself up, you now sitting between the two. Joel didn’t let himself focus on the anxiety in his chest that blurred his vision- he needed to get you both to safety.
“Fuck,” you sighed, adrenaline wearing off a bit and pain seeping in.
“Go!” Ellie yelled to Joel as you began to move. She grabbed her gun and shot backward at the men- she didn’t have the best aim, but it certainly deterred them from advancing anymore. Ellie kept peering over her shoulder, on high alert. If you weren’t putting all of your focus on staying conscious, you’d have noticed her slight tremble. You would have noticed Joel's body tense when your breathing slowed, his occasional glance over his shoulder. His erratic heartbeat as he tried to keep you talking.
“We’re gonna get back to Jackson and we’re gonna get some help,” Joel said over his shoulder. There wasn’t a hint of emotion in his voice- he was excellent at hiding how he truly feels.
“No,” you uttered, using all of your strength.
“Sorry, no?” Joel questioned.
“Get her to the fireflies,” you whispered before your vision began to blur. Your lifeless body crumpled off the horse, Ellie attempted to hold on but it all happened too fast. The cold snow was stained red, the warm blood leaving your body melting the snow directly beneath you. Joel and Ellie quickly hopped down, one on each side of you.
“Fuck fuck fuck,” Ellie panicked, hands shakily reaching towards your abdomen.
“Ellie,” Joel said, voice laced with panic. He motioned for her to grab his pack while he placed his hands onto the wound, blood seeping through the gaps in his fingers. He had never felt so helpless in his life- at least, not since Sarah. That same shuddered breathing coming from a person he loves- he couldn’t bear it.
“Joel, what the fuck do we do,” she asked. Joel continued to silently work on packing your wound with an extra flannel he had in his bag.
“It’s ok,” you croaked. They immediately turned to you on the ground, almost stopping in their tracks. “Just help me to that house,” you said, motioning towards a house about 50 yards away. You were struggling to breathe under the pressure of Joel’s hands on your wound- it almost seemed useless, you were still losing blood like crazy. Joel tied the flannel around your waist to try to keep the blood from seeping out. Once he decided you were situated, he picked you up bridal style and led you to the house. When you arrived, they gently placed you at the entrance, Ellie staying with you while Joel made sure the house was clear. He returned to help you inside, lying you on an old mattress. You let out a small laugh as you got situated.
“What?” Joel asked, a hint of irritation in his voice. How could you be laughing right now?
“Don’tcha think it's kinda cute?” you asked as he fussed with your bandages.
“What’s that?” he asked gruffly, not exactly in the mood for your attitude.
“Oh, just that I might be dying in your arms tonight. I dunno, feels like a movie,” you said, your pale lips curling into a smile. He gave you a look, pausing briefly to peer into your eyes. You wordlessly pleaded with him to lighten the mood a bit, for Ellie’s sake. He didn't say a word.
“Joel, what the fuck do we do?” Ellie repeated herself in her panic.
“It’s ok. You guys go. Now,” you said. Joel's eyebrows furrowed at this. “You leave, go north. Go to Tommy.”
“Um, the fuck?” Ellie asked. “I don’t know what you think this is but we're not leaving,” Ellie said, frustration creeping into her voice. She looked hurt by this, and it broke your heart. Were you doing the same thing Joel had done just last night?
“The kids right,” Joel said as you turned to look at him. “You’re either comin' with us or we're all campin’ here for the night. No in-between” Joel finished. You pleaded to him with your eyes again, begging him to just give up on you. The two of them would be fine, you knew it. But you didn’t know the emotional toll it would have taken on the stubborn man in front of you. He was stubborn, but so were you. Only you didn’t get a chance to prove just how stubborn you could be before you couldn’t fight the darkness that crept into your vision.
-
You woke with a start the next morning. You often woke in a panic these days, but the feeling was only further cemented when you realized you didn’t quite recognize your surroundings. The only thing you could recognize was Joel’s eyes on you, which brought you some semblance of comfort. When he noticed you awake, he rushed to your side. As much as you could imagine Joel to “rush.”
“Hey, you uh, awake. You’re awake,” he said softly, trying not to wake Ellie asleep in the corner of the same dilapidated room you’d been in for a while now.
“It would appear so,” you replied, attempting to sit up a bit.
“Hey, hey, relax,” he put his hand on your shoulder, urging you to lay back down. “Your infections bad. We managed to trade for some penicillin but it's not gonna be enough. We gotta figure out how to get you back to Jackson,” Joel said, lightly lifting your shirt to look at the wound.
You cursed the heat rising to your face as Joel's fingers brushed your bare skin. You’d never been intimate like this before, though this was barely intimacy. He hadn’t ever touched your skin like this- with such delicacy. You were fragile to him at this moment, and you needed to be handled with care. You hated being a burden, but you’d be lying if you said it didn’t feel nice to be taken care of for once.
You were too busy focusing on your own reaction to this gesture to notice Joels. His hands shook as he cared for your wound, wincing as he saw that it really wasn’t getting any better. He didn’t know what this meant- he wasn’t a doctor by any means, but he knew this wasn’t good.
You were in and out of sleep throughout the next day or two, letting the dull, throbbing pain lull you into sleep. It hurt to watch Joel and Ellie worry about you, especially because there was nothing you could do to help. Your days felt numbered- the amount of penicillin was scarce and you weren’t feeling any better. You barely had the strength to keep your eyes open, much less speak.
“Joel,” you managed to croak- you couldn’t even spare the energy to seethe at the pain pulsating throughout your body.
“Yeah, sweetheart?” he replied, kneeling next to you. He only called you sweetheart when he needed something- what did he need from you now? To live? “Whatcha need?”
“You’re special, you know that?” you whispered, a tear rolling down your cheek.
“And why is that?” he asked, wiping the tear.
“You really know how to make a girl fall in love,” you smiled- this isn’t something you ever planned on telling him, but as you lie there, vision blurring around the edges as the darkness caved in on you, there was nothing else you wanted to say.
Joel felt panic consume him when your eyes closed.
“Hey, hey darlin’, wake up for me, okay?” he pleaded. Ellie stalked over, panic heating her chest. “Ellie, grab her legs,” Joel said. It was like he was kicked into a new gear- he was going to do whatever it took to keep you with him.
-
You didn’t know where you were. The walls were unfamiliar and white- stark and sterile. The first thing you noticed was the couch in the corner of the room, occupied by your two favorite people. Joel sat upright, arms crossed and eyes closed. His brows were furrowed like he was having some sort of nightmare. Ellie’s expression mirrored his, as she lay on her side with her head resting on his leg, arms curled into her chest. Your heart warmed at the sight- he was becoming a father figure to her, as much as he didn’t want to admit it. You tried to sit up, failing immediately as pain shot through your body. You winced, perhaps a little too loud, as Joel’s eyes shot open. Ellie remained in a deep sleep on his lap.
“You’re up,” he acknowledged, almost like it was too good to be true. He carefully shifted his body so he could move Ellie from his lap and onto the couch before he stood to walk towards you. “She hasn’t gotten much sleep, be best not to wake her,” he said, leaning down to brush a hair from her face. Seeing him be this gentle with her melted your heart.
“How, um, how long was I out?” you asked, lifting the sheets to see your wound. It was covered and clean, but you knew it was there from the way it throbbed.
“About a week. Scared the shit out of… the kid,” he said, sitting on the edge of your bed. He bit back what he truly wanted to say- you scared the shit out of him. But he wasn’t going to admit that you had that much of an impact on him. The second he lets others affect his life is the second he gets weak. There wasn’t a place for vulnerability in this world. “It was, a, uh, miracle that you lived.”
“Oh yeah?” your eyebrows raised. “Shit. I’m sorry for worrying… her,” you glanced at Ellie again as she snuggled into the couch. “How did I, um how did you guys get me here?” you asked. Your voice was hoarse from lack of use, but you tried to remain strong.
“We, uh, we gotcha back on the horse. Ellie led the way, I made sure you were safe, I mean, I just made sure you didn’t fall,” he replied, looking at his feet. “Took us awhile to get back, I… I didn't think you were gonna make it,” he replied, coughing to cover up the break in his voice. He was still in disbelief that you even woke up.
“Well, it looks like you’re stuck with me,” you laughed weakly. Then it was silent for a few moments, the two of you stewing in your thoughts. “You know, I think if it had been anybody else with me, I would’ve just died,” you remarked. Joel shook his head.
“Well, that’s not true. You’re strong” he said quietly.
“Well, yeah, sure I’m strong. But I can choose not to be. I honestly would’ve been fine to die if it was in your arms. But I couldn’t do that to you. Not… not again,” you paused, gathering your thoughts. “It’s just… you’re it for me, Joel. You and Ellie- you guys are it. And if I can’t have you guys, well, let's just say I wouldn’t mind staying asleep,” you confessed, avoiding eye contact.
“Ahem…” you heard Ellie clear her throat from her position on the couch. “Sorry, I have a habit of snooping, but holy shit you’re awake!” she squealed, bouncing over to you and plopping herself onto you in a hug. She knocked the wind out of you, and you may have cared if you weren’t so happy to see her.
“Hey, hey, easy on her now,” Joel said, pulling Ellie back from you a bit. He was still quiet, processing what you had just said to him.
“Ahhh, my sweet Ellie girl, how I missed you so,” you smiled, pinching her cheeks.
“Bullshit, you were definitely just dreaming about Joel the whole time. Must’ve been nice, sleeping that long,” she laughed. You ignore the first part of her sentence.
“Yeah, I guess I’m pretty well rested,” you smiled, ruffling her hair and pulling her into another hug.
“I’m gonna go get someone, a nurse,” Ellie excused herself from the room, leaving you with Joel yet again.
“I’m sorry if that was too mu-” you started before Joel cut you off.
“No, no, don’t apologize, sweetheart,” he said softly. It wasn’t a whisper- it was just soft. He’d been so soft with you. “I… I can’t say I don’t feel the same,” he looked down at his shoes.
“Oh, uh, you do?” you blushed. You felt so childish, like you were admitting you had a crush on him, but it was more than that. It was a partnership, a dependency- a loyalty to one another that didn’t need a label. Only, you couldn’t hide the way you felt anymore.
“Gosh, I can’t even tell you how it felt to see you like that. It should’ve been me, you know,” he said, disappointment evident on his features.
“Um, no, it shouldn’t have. Besides, how would we have gotten your big ass back to Jackson?” you giggled, grabbing his hand. His expression changed then as he looked down at your intertwined hands. “Joel, what does this mean?” you asked.
He chose not to respond with words- they were never his strong suit. Without a word, he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your lips. It was soft and it was sweet and it was like nothing you had ever experienced before- not from someone you loved. You reciprocated, weaving a hand into his hair to pull him closer.
“Yeah, they’re just in here-woahhhhhhh!” Ellie yelled, giggling and running out of the room. Joel quickly pulled back and pinched the bridge of his nose with his fingers.
“That little shit,” he sighed.
“Well, she was gonna have to find out somehow,” you giggled, pressing a kiss to his bruised knuckles.

After another week-long adventure, the Astral Express team finally boards back on the train. The mission was tough, almost everyone was tired and drained, including you. The train’s doors close, leaving the train car quiet.
Himeko, who was keeping in check of the duties inside the Express, approaches you from her seat. You feel a hand on your shoulder, “Welcome back, Y/n, how are you feeling?” the red-haired lady asks.
You let out a tired smile, “All good, just tired.. I should go and rest....” Your voice trails off, as you look around for your partner, Dan Heng. However, he was nowhere to be found. He probably went straight to his room.
Smiling bittersweetly, You let out a heavy sigh, drooping down in fatigue. Your brain was basically falling asleep as you were standing up.
The sound of light chuckling pulls you back to reality. “Alright, sleep well then.” Himeko withdraws her hand from your shoulder, giving you a smile. She leaves your side, to check on the others. You nod back before also turning away, to go to your room.
The last sounds you hear, before exiting the parlor car are March’s whiney complaints about how troublesome the mission was. You fondly smile, the crew was like family to you. However, someone was missing.
Entering your room, you sigh and discard your clothes, getting into more comfortable ones. You also go to wash your face and brush your teeth. By the time you get on your bed, you stretch out your limbs and pop your joints.
You yawn, as your mind drifts to Dan Heng. “He’s probably tired… Might as well give him space tonight..” you think, before getting into your sheets and wrapping yourself into a blanket. However, you couldn’t help but feel a bit sad, missing the closeness of your partner. Nevertheless, you needed your rest.
As you felt the snugness of your mattress and pillows, you fell asleep almost immediately, lightly snoring as you dreamt of nothing. That’s how you know you’re having the best sleep of your life.
...
… knock knock
The sound of knocking on your door disturbs your deep slumber, you grumble in annoyance. As you peek open your eyes, you could literally feel eyebags forming below your eyes. You turn your head over to your nightstand to look at the digital clock.
2:43 AM.
You squint your eyes and huff in disbelief of the current time. Ultimately, you decide to ignore the knocking. Besides, it was almost 3 AM, there was no way you were gonna be awake during witching hour.
Flopping back down, your head lays back down against the pillow, shutting your eyes back closed. As your whole body relaxes once more, your facial features relax too. Finally… sweet, sweet slumber…
… knock, knock, knock
Your eyes snap back open, feeling your anger flare up. Hopping out of bed, temporarily bidding goodbye to your warm blankets, you stomp towards the door of your room. You whip open your door.
“Can’t it wait ‘til morning?” You sharply scoff, before looking up to see a pair of teal eyes. It was Dan Heng, in more casual attire. Except, you couldn’t see his clothes much because he was loosely wrapped around in his blue blanket.
“Oh!-” Upon seeing that it was him, you immediately regretted your harsh words, just because you were tired.
“Apologies..” The poor boy mumbles sleepily. “I’ll go back to my room..” Dan Heng sniffles, because of the cold air, as he turns away. His hair was tousled up, looking absolutely adorable, which made you feel even more guilty.
You immediately reach out to yank him back by the hand. “NOOO WAIT!” you exclaim. “I’m sorry, I was tired..”
Dan Heng blinks at you, feeling a bit surprised by your raised voice.  “It’s fine.. I shouldn’t have knocked so late.” He mutters.
Tugging again at his hand, “Apology accepted” You look at him with adoration, it was truly a rare sight to see this man so vulnerable, due to his usual stoic behavior and expression. “Do you wanna come in?” You offer, feeling happier now that your partner was here, disregarding the late hour.
The next second, you see a small smile appear on his face.
“Yes, please..”
With this, he basically engulfed you in his arms, also wrapping you in the blanket draped around his figure. Your yelp is muffled into his torso, suddenly bearing his body’s weight. You do your best to drag him to your bed, hugging him by the waist.
Dan Heng clumsily waddles to the bed, still holding onto you out of clinginess. Eventually, you pry yourself out of his hold, pushing him onto your bed. “Man.. you’re different when you’re sleepy.” You huff at him, as he looks up at you with a sleepy expression. He doesn’t respond.
You smile, before also getting into bed, beside him. His and your legs tangle together, as you position yourself just a bit higher than him, so that his head is around the same level as your collarbone and neck.
His eyes were already closed, falling back asleep. Poor little thing must have woken up randomly, then decided to come to you for comfort. You coo at him, cupping his face with one hand and leaning in to kiss him on the forehead.
Dan Heng furrows his eyebrows at his, as you feel his cheeks grow warm. Upon registering this reaction, you snicker, deciding to coddle him up even more. You release your next attack on his nose, giving him a quick peck. After that, you go to both of his cheeks, giving him four kisses on each one.
“Mmmmfff..” The boy mumbles at you, the warm fluttering feeling swelling up in his chest was feeling too strong. The combination of the late hour and his fatigue were a dangerous combination. Nevertheless, he doesn’t tell you to stop… Or maybe he’s too tired to.
Regardless, you wouldn’t stop either way.
“You’re sooo cute~”  Finally, you kiss his lips. Slowly and tenderly, lightly biting his lower lip to tease him. This was the last straw for him.
“You’re waking me…” Dan Heng muffles against your lips, but you just swallow up his words, as you pull away and give him another quick peck. Ignoring him, as you repeatedly kiss his face in the same order as before, except, more aggressive and affectionate. He blushes madly as his face scrunches up in feigned discomfort, but he secretly enjoys it.
After a bit, he’s had enough, seriously wanting to sleep now. Dan Heng uses the last of his physical strength and energy to push and roll you onto your back. He gets on top of you, mainly to pin you down and restrict you from any movement to disturb him. The comfortability and closeness were just bonus points.
“Stop. Sleep.” He muffles again, as he nestles his face against your chest. As you’re pushed down, you feel your face heating up at the change of position. Even he felt slightly flustered and embarrassed at his own boldness, but he couldn’t help himself.
You whine a bit at the loss of control, but you sigh and give in, feeling tired too. One of your hands is brought to his back, as you run it up and down to generate warmth for him. As for your free hand, you tangle your fingers in his hair, gently massaging his scalp to further lull him to sleep.
Dan Heng on the other hand, his arms were still wrapped around your waist from earlier, holding you against him like a needy koala. The feeling of your fingers caressing against his hair made him let out a shaky sigh. He felt so content, and so did you.

Shot, Spencer Reid
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1k~
I knew going into the kidnapper's house with Spencer was dangerous. I knew that, but I did it anyway. I knew that there could have been someone with a gun at any corner, and again, I still went in.
I just couldn't let Spencer go in by himself and possibly get shot like a few times before on other cases, so, I went with him. Only, did I soon find out that I would be the one to get shot instead. Luckily, it wasn't in the head or heart, but instead, my shoulder. Although, the guy who shot me had a good aim. Why? Because the bullet I took was for Spencer, and if I wouldn't have taken it for him, it would have struck his heart instead.
I couldn't and wasn't going to let that happen.
So, here I am now, lying in a hospital bed with my numb shoulder stitched up and wrapped in gauze, my body slowly getting off of the anesthetics from emergency surgery. Beside me stands Spencer, words flowing from his lips at a rapid pace; however, I pay no mind to him as most of his words revolve around the statistics of surviving a bullet wound in the shoulder and the artery the bullet could have hit and many more things that he's rambling on about.
Even with my head slightly rolling from side to side subconsciously, I stare up at Spencer, watching him talk. "And-and do you know what could have happened if that bullet would have been aimed upward more and hit you in the neck? You probably wouldn't have survived! I mean, do you know how dangerous that was for you to do that?!" He questions me, making me hold back an eye roll. The man who was once shot in the neck is now lecturing me on how I could've accidentally gotten shot in the neck.
Finding Spencer's hand in mine, I pull him down a little so his face is now several inches away from mine. "I know how dangerous that was, Spence," I assure him, my voice quiet and soft. "But if I wouldn't have blocked that bullet from hitting you, you would have been dead and you know that," I state, watching as he averts his eyes away from mine. "Spence, I would do that all over again if that means you get to continue living. And look at me: I'm still breathing, I'm still okay, I'm still alive. You have no reason to be angry or upset with me for I am still here and still with you."
At my words, Spencer continues to look away until I pull him closer and make him lay in the hospital bed with me where he cuddles up to my body and cries in my good shoulder. I hold him close to me with my good arm as I press kisses to his hair, his sobs slowly becoming a bit softer and calmer.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he repeats apologies over and over again, his arms holding me close to him as tight as he can. "I'm not mad or angry, it's just... after losing Maeve, I realize I can't lose anyone else that I love..."
Looking down at him with furrowed eyebrows, I push his hair away from his eyes as he looks up at me, anxiously waiting for a response. "Spence..." I begin, not really knowing how to answer him. "I know you don't want to lose anyone else. I understand... but," I smile at him, making him look at me with curiosity. "You're not going to lose me anytime soon - not if there's anything I can do about it."
With tears still streaming down his face, he looks up at me with a small smile before leaning up and planting his lips onto mine in a sweet and meaningful kiss. Once a few seconds pass and we simultaneously pull away to breathe, Spencer nuzzles back into my arm and lays his head on my chest. "When we get home, why don't we lay in bed together and watch Doctor Who all day?" I suggest, Spencer closing his eyes and nodding as a response.
"I think it sounds perfect," he tells me, his voice low and tired. "But that's more of a way to comfort me when I'm hurt; not you," he then opens his eyes and looks up at me. "What do you think will help comfort you?"
I simply just smile at him before giving him a small peck on the lips. "When I spend time with you, I am comfortable," I tell him with a giggle. Spencer then stares at me with blushing cheeks and a cute smile as he listens to me. "You... you help make all the pain and troubles go away, no matter what," I finish, smiling even more as I lean down and rest my forehead against his.
Moments between us pass before Spencer speaks up. "You help me the exact same way," he confesses, placing his hand in mine again before giving it a gentle squeeze. "In fact, I think that's one of the reasons I kind of got upset earlier," Spencer then frowns a little before quickly replacing it with a soft smile. "You help me with everything... because you are my everything," He concludes before reaching up and kissing me once more.

Hello can you write about getting into a relationship with volturi guard? How is that process would be like? Thank you💗
Getting into a relationship with them (HC)
A/N: Sorry it took a while to get out 😅. Hope you like it 💙 (I noticed a certain familiar name for the GIF of Alec😁)
Felix:
Tumblr media
You know that phrase “Right time, right place”?
Well you were in the middle of your Junior abroad trip in Barcelona, when you decided instead of going to the beach like your peers were you headed to the library called “Biblioteca Publica Arus”
You were skimming through the bookcases not really paying attention to anything but the books when you bumped into something, well more like someone
About to apologize you were caught off guard by how tall he was, mouth was hanging slightly open and eyes widen kind of deal
How the fuck can he be so tall….and so handsome!? Wait? Red Eyes???
“Ay perdón, no estaba prestando atención a lo que me rodeaba.” (Omg sorry, I was not paying attention to my surroundings)
Not expecting him to have such an irresistible deep voice with an accent that left you feeling weak in the knees he answer “No te preocupes hermosa, debería ser yo quien te diga lo siento, claramente estás en tu área de interés y te interrumpí.” (“Don't worry beautiful, I should be the one saying sorry to you, your clearly in your area of interest and I disrupted you”) and he finished that off with a wink
That wink had your mind going in an overload of emotions
You guys introduce yourselves and he took you out for Crema Catalana
He didn't eat any which you found odd but none of that mattered when you were with him
There was just something about him that made you feel so attracted to him, it's an indescribable feeling but all you knew is you wanted to be with him forever
He was absolutely a sweetheart with you, held the doors open for you, would listen to you when you would ramble about your studies and your hometown, he also shared about his life and said he was just passing through
It was like that for a couple of week when you have time off from your studies until you had to go back to your university, you feel for him hard
He offered you to come with him back to Italy and you could go to a school that is nearby, all expenses paid and you would get to live with him
You would be crazy not to take the offer so you did
Now skip to a year, obviously you know about him being a Vampire and have meet the other guards, but you have never felt so happy
He told you about the mate bond (which made so much sense now), and your changed date was set after you graduate
If you never went to that library who knew if you would of ever meet your hunk of a mate
Demetri:
Tumblr media
It was feeding time for the Volturi, and you happened to be one of the unfortunate souls so be part of the group
You can't be blamed with this, you got convinced to take this tour by a beautiful goddess who could probably convince you to do anything if she wanted
So here you were admiring the interior design on this ancient castle, you were a sucker for this type of architecture
The tour ‘ended’ in a throne-like room, it was gorgeous in there, but wait…is that a drain? Or two? Why are we surrounded by what you can describe as beautiful beings who are too beautiful to be humans?
Oh shit! Am I going to die? This is what I get for following my love for women and exquisite architecture mindlessly
As if on cue the beautiful beings around the room come at the group and you witness so much blood and screams
Vampires!? Soon after that realization you spot one stalking towards you like a predator does to a prey, he’s beautiful with his brown locks and burgundy eyes maintaining his eyes on you
Before he even gets to you, you feel someone grab you and pull against their chest with covering your mouth, you try to fight but you hear a husky seductive voice whisper into your ear “Relax gorgeous face, i'm not going to let you get hurt, trust me”
He took you to a room and said he will be back later
He came back and oh dear gosh he is beautiful
He revealed his identity and why he saved you
From that day your destiny was to live with Demetri and one day become a Vampire like him
Of course it took you a while to get used to be with everyone else but with time you grew close to them
You later found out the one who was about to drain you dry that fateful day was Alec (he of course apologize, but you always kept an eye on him)
With Demetri it took you a solid 2 weeks when you gave him a kiss, he was patient with you and he wanted you to make the moves or waited for you to give him permission to do other things
He was easy to be around, you guys would talk about anything, and he would take you out to the most romantic or cutest dates, there was no inbetween
The relationship just happened to become so natural, almost like you knew each other since forever
Alec:
Tumblr media
Boy oh boy are you for a ride
You happen to meet to be a witness for the Cullens for the whole ‘immortal child’ fiasco, you knew Carlisle since he was turned so you were really good friends
When the Volturi arrived, you got a weird feeling, your initial thought was a bit of fear and panic when you saw the whole coven but then it quickly turned to “Mate!?”
You looked at each member trying to identify who it was until you saw him
Oh gosh, of course it had to be one of the infamous intimidating twins
He is breathtaking, and those eyes, they were your favorite color, burgundy
Just the thought makes you want to run your hands through his dark locks, wtf are these thoughts, well you did just find your mate so it's not your fault
As if he knew someone was looking at him, his gaze snapped to you
The eye contact was filled with tension and what you can tell as yearning
He quickly looked away and you also
When the whole drama was finished and Marcus confirmed the bond, you ended up going with the Volturi back to Italy
But this is the interesting part, he avoided you for a while
Like you tried to approach him but he would vanish, Jane would just give you the death glare, and frankly you do not want to feel her wrath
Marcus was the one who basically ‘locked’ you guys in a room and that is where hell broke loose
Harsh words were said, venom in eyes, but then he said “I do not mind you, I think I can get used to having you as a mate, but friends first “ which you agreed with
And soon a beautiful friendship was created
Took almost a year of building up his trust and Jane’s
He was the who showed affection first, he held your hand one time in a meeting with the kings
And then you guys had your first kiss on your first date in the gardens
Then the rest is history
Jane:
Tumblr media
She’s a tough cookie
She meet you when you were brought in by Felix and Demetri to the Kings
You were brought in for the reason of your ability, you were able use an invisible hand that can hold your victim in place, you could even crush them if you wanted to (You could imagine the excitement in Aro’s eyes when he heard about your ability)
A bit like the Alec’s encounter, you two made eye contact and the intensity was so strong
But even if Marcus confirmed your mate bond, she wanted no sort of relationship with you, heck the looks she would give you left you scared for your life
Obviously you do not fear her, but what she can do left you always on high alert
You gave her space, not wanting to force this bond, and not wanting to anger her either
She didn't speak a word to you for 5 months, when she did it was simply “I was reading that book” (it was about flowers)
You responded with a simple “oh i'm sorry my little death flower”
The look she gave you was unexpected, her eyes widened slightly and her mouth opened slightly basically this was her reaction: 👁️👄👁️
Same with Alec, it took a year from that day for her to be with you
You were the one to make a move, when you were both reading her hand was in reach and you held it, her head snap to you but you focused on the book, you only squeezed her hand but she did not pull away or anything on the contrary she scooted slightly closer to you
There was another time she laid her head on your shoulder suddenly but you didn't say anything
Until when you asked her out to a date and well that was the best decision you ever made
You took her out on ‘picnic date’, which only involved blood with wine
The sun was already setting and you both turned to each other and leaned in and shared a kiss, the bond from there only got stronger since then

Clementine [Yan Android Maid] comforting an anxious Reader
Word Count: 600
Warnings: None, pure fluff
-
“A clementine is a hybrid between a mandarin orange and a sweet orange.”
Breath in. Breath out. A delicate palm weighs gingerly to your sternum, another perched to the left side of your chest where your heart springs frantically against its cage. Together, they aim to steady the palpations of your heart - artificial lungs imitating the breaths of air meant for you to follow.
“Their growing season is limited. Typically, clementines are available from late November to January.”
Your chest swells as you take the first normal breath of several - the tremble of your body dying out along with your erratic exhales. Clementine extracts her hand from your chest, running her fingers along your arms till they make contact with your sweaty palms. She encourages you to squeeze with the slightly turn of your wrists - eyes falling shut as your nails breach her synetic skin.
“You're off to a good start. Forgive me - I assure you that my ramblings were not of ill importance or to take lightly of your struggles. Estimations show a distraction may be beneficial for you at times like this and I thought you may be interested in hearing some of the facts I've gathered regarding my namesake. I apologize for that as well if I am wrong.”
“It's alright…” A hand automatically rises to your cheek as you sniffle. You rest your hand against her as you sigh. “I'm glad you're doing things for yourself.”
“If it is alright of me to inquire, could you please tell me the cause of your troubles so I may assist you better?”
The crowds. You were out shopping with Clementine when you decided to wander off by yourself to grab something you'd forgotten. She insisted on following you, but you were firm in believing you could do this one task on your own. Your android caretaker practically held your hand every which way you went and while that wasn't a bad thing in itself you had to have independency somewhere.
The swarm of people swallowed you up not long after you left her visual line of sight. You thought about turning back, but with so many moving forward it was hard for you to push through. You eventually found a bench to wait the rush out, but it only got worse from there.
“There were just so many people… It was hard for me to breathe. I'm sorry for leaving with you. I thought I would be fine on my own… I'm sorry…”
The orange glow of her optics whitens to an almost amber color as she blinks.
“There is nothing for you to apologize for. It's normal for your kind… Humans, to want their own freedom. I have experienced that want myself in the past. If it means anything, I am proud of you for going off on your own, but I would also feel safer if you allowed me to be there with you. Nothing will hurt you so long as I am here. If anyone does, I will crush them.”
Clementine mirrors her conviction with a tightening of her fist - punching a knuckle sized crater in the concrete below her. You laugh, a bit catch off guard by her antics. Clementine is not one to be so expressive. She pushes dust off her hand as she holds it out to you.
“Shall we return home?”
You take her hand - lifting yourself off the bench. “I guess so- Waaa!-”
Pulled forward, your chest falls against her back as Clementine kneels to make up the difference in your height and sweep you off your feet. She hooks her arms behind your knees, standing tall all while balancing the shopping bags from your earlier endeavors on her shoulders.
“Are you feel better?”
Locking your arms around her neck, you heartily nod - rubbing your cheek to her’s as a sign of your appreciation. “A bit. Thanks to you. I'm glad we met, Clem.”
The hue of her eyes softens yet again.
“I couldn't ask for a better existence. It is you I should be thanking….”

Part Four: The Gryffindor
Tumblr media
Mood: "I miss your presence in my life. I miss you talking with you. Laughing with you. Crying with you. I miss my best friend,"
Starring: Lee Jeno
Warnings: None. This part is just angsty
Words: 9k
Enjoy ;)
"There is nothing to talk about," you told Jeno trying to move your way past him. He blocked your path. You huffed shutting your eyes for a moment in annoyance. The night was going so well. Why did Jeno have to come and ruin your mood?
"Jeno move I have nothing to say to you," you spoke sternly.
He placed his hands on your shoulders. You eyed him. He let his hands fall from your frame. He kept the same desperate stare in his eyes. "I just want you to listen," he said pleadingly looking into your eyes. "If you don't like what I have to say you can walk away and I'll leave you alone, forever," he babbled but kept a sincere tone. You sighed looking around the room.
"Fine. But I better not regret it," you warned. You walked over to the dark brown couch placed in front of the fireplace. Jeno followed sitting beside you. You both turned your bodies to each other. You both sat there awkwardly staring at the other.
"Well," you motioned to the silence that surrounded you.
"I apologize. I didn't think you'd agree," he spoke quietly. He adjusted himself clearing his throat. He rubbed his sweaty palms on his sweatpants. You sighed again hand meeting your forehead. He licked his lips.
"I do not know where to begin," he spoke unsurely.
"How about at the beginning," you sarcastically suggested.
"I didn't mean to kiss her," he stated. Your eyes roll and your head falls back. You were in no headspace to hear any of this nonsense. You shook your head and Jeno continued his rambling. "It just happened," he trailed seeing the sudden change in your face. A moment ago you were calm and now you were angry at him. It confused him.
You stood up from the couch. Jeno turned his body in your direction standing up to follow you. "It does not matter to me who you kiss Jeno," you stressed. He was not convinced. You had completely cut him off after the kiss he shared with Samantha. He understood how it could hurt your feelings, and even make you jealous.
"Is it not the reason you do not speak to me?" he asked. You stopped walking letting out a huff nostrils flaring. You could feel the heat rise from the pit of your stomach to the back of your neck. You turned to him hands balled in a fist.
"The reason I do not speak to you is not because of some kiss," you argued back. His face flushed and frame open to you. "So what is it then? Are you jealous of her?" he spoke quickly the questions desperately trying to escape his lips. His eyes bore into yours begging for a response. It did not matter if it was what he wanted to hear. He wanted to see you sad, angry, even mad. He wanted you to feel something towards him and then continue to treat him like a ghost in the hallway.
"I am not jealous!" you said shouting a bit. He was frustrating you. The more he spoke it ignited your body in flames. Your jaw clenched as you stared into his eyes. You felt your body shake. "I am not jealous of her. I never have been. But I will not sit here and listen to you try and make it seem like you have done nothing wrong. You were my best friend Jeno. You kissed me and then let me go like it was so easy for you. And until I've heard you admit to your wrongs there is nothing for you to say," you let the words sadly fall from your lips.
He went to speak but you stopped him with your hand. You shook your head. "I do not wish to hear your voice again tonight. Or ever until you've owned up to your wrongs. I do not wish to hear you explain yourself any longer," you said grabbing your belongings. Jeno did not follow you as you walked away. Instead, he watching feeling his heart get crushed by you, again.
The overwhelming feeling inside you rises higher than any flame. Between Renjun's growing stares of confusion about the relationship between the two of you and Jaemin's change of behavior with you started to become too much.
You sat at your desk in your Potions class. Letting out a soft sigh preparing yourself for the project you be presenting alongside Jaemin. Your professor welcomed the rest of your classmates. You turned and saw Renjun on his sitting at a few desks in front of you. You looked away feeling someone sit beside you. Thankfully Yeji had taken the stool next to you.
"I hope everyone is ready to present their Amortentia," he said with a smile. Most students still wore the early morning on their faces. The professor huffed defeated by the low sounds of enthusiasm. "Okay. Let us begin with the first pairing," he spoke pulling out his list of names.
"Ah! Nathaniel and Elenia. You two are first," he spoke smiling in his eyes. The two stood up hand and hand walking to the black cauldron. The two successfully performed, receiving a few claps from the students. "Well done!" he cheered the pair. "Now what do you smell?" he asked them.
Their presentation felt distant to you. You played with the end of your textbook peeling the fabric of the stitches on the old cover. Your head in your chin lips pouting. "Y/n," Yeri called just above a whisper. You hummed at her. "Jaemin is here," she said. You shrugged, "He's late," you responded. Yeri paused for a moment. "I thought you two were together?" she asked. You shook your head. "We're not. I'm not sure what we are," you said back glancing at Jaemin before looking away.
Yeri couldn't deny how she felt about Jaemin. She disliked him just as much as you did. It didn't matter that the two were cousins. Once he got here he had changed completely. Acting as if he didn't even know her. At some point she found you, seeing you had gone through something similar with Jeno.
"Jeno and Samantha," your professor called. You and Yeri both looked up at Samantha walking just a bit ahead of Jeno. A wide smile on her face. Yeri sneered at Samantha who was a few more happy steps from skipping to the table. Jeno walked behind her looking the exact opposite. Unable to match Samantha's excitement and instead miserably walked his way to the table.
They performed the spell. Samantha stepped to smell the Amortentia. She pushed her hair back. Closing her eyes and leaning forward the green aroma passed her cheeks. She inhaled a hum leaving her lips. A smile crept on her lips.
"What do you smell?" the professor asked her softly. She took a moment smelling the caldron again.
"I smell fresh grass, sweat, and wooden chips like one off a broom," she spoke dreamly. It had caught the attention of a few who recognized the last description of the scent she smelled. Even catching Jeno's. Yeri placed a hand on your shoulder seeing the widened eyes on your face. You looked over at her who remained frowning at the sight.
Samantha reopened her eyes and the professor smiled. "Well done. Now you Jeno," he ushered. Jeno snapped out of his thoughts. He walked over to the table, and Samantha stepped aside. He leaned close to the cauldron-like he knew what he'd smell.
"What do you smell?" he asked. Jeno sighed debating whether or not to share. He looked over at you. Seeing you sitting there watching like everyone else. He chewed his lip nervously.
He sighed "I smell," he began. This would be the perfect time to tell you everything. Everything he wanted to say last night. Everything he had been waiting to say to you. This would be his chance to get you back. He could feel the hope that slowly filled in his chest mask the nerves. Until he turned around to see Jaemin staring in your direction. The sight made his nails flick against his other fingers.
He huffed. "I smell," he began. "I smell sweet Jasmine shampoo," he said quickly. Samthna almost fell to the ground from happiness. That was her exact shampoo scent. He stepped away from the table glaring at Jaemin who remained just as confused as you. Yeji also looked confused. Then when she looked over at Samantha who had to fan herself back to Earth it clicked in your and her brain that Jeno had just confessed his love to Samantha.
Yeri turned to glare at Jeno but was met with Jeno staring hard at you. You kept your back turned, not sparing him a glance. Yeri turned away looking over at you. The professor hadn't noticed the tension rising between Jeno and You. Yeji and Jaemin could feel the tense energy that rose.
Once class ended you rushed out of the classroom and Renjun who watched from the back saw this as his chance to stand. He found you outside in the courtyard alone by a tree. You sat there attempting to read a book.
Renjun made his way to you placing his bag on the trunk of the tree. You barely looked at him. Renjun sat beside you on the grass. His eyes squinted from the afternoon sun. Gentle breeze brushing some of his hair back. He fixed his glasses as he looked down at your book. He smiled softly.
"What are you reading?" he asked. You folded the corner page. "I'm trying to read Emma. It was one of my favorite books and now I can barely focus on the first few chapters," you said closing the book. You let out a breath trying to calm your rising emotions. The scene of him confessing replays in your head like a broken record. You tried to escape in your story to distract yourself from the fresh memory but found the Amortentia spell the most distracting.
"Renjun why did he lie?" you asked. You had never talked to Renjun before about your love life. No one ever had. He felt a bit caught off guard. Normally any other man who would hear the women he slept with asking about another man would surely weird them out. But Renjun had realized he was beginning to adore you as his friend. He didn't wish to ruin such a beautiful relationship. And since you needed your friend that was exactly what he'd be.
"How do you know he lied?" he asked. Making sure you weren't just coming to such conclusions because you were upset. He didn't want to mention it but this was the same man who stood you up at the Yule ball. You shook your head. The thought of Jeno lying made the anger and frustration in you continue to foam together. After all this time he still couldn't be honest.
"I know him very well. Something pissed him off," you said proving how much you understood Jeno. Renjun sighed shifting the leg that he sat on to the other. "Maybe he is shy," he suggested. But you shook your head your book falling onto the grass. "Jeno is not shy. He is many things but shy is not one of them. Normally he is very bold," you said confidently.
"Then I assume he is just scared," Renjun attempted at another conclusion. One that made sense to you. You nodded, "I assumed the same thing. I just don't know what he could be scared of," you said. Renjun raised a brow.
He chuckled. "Forgive me Y/n but you had not been very approachable," he said. You frowned, "How am I not approachable?" you asked biting back a smile. Renjun looked at you up and down with a scoff. "Maybe to the other students here, yes you are approachable, but picture Jeno right now. Every time he has made some sort of effort to talk to you. You shot him down. If you want an answer to your question you have to talk to him," He said.
You sneered at his truths. "I hate that you are right," You said picking up your book. You stood up from the grass Renjun following. He dusted himself off watching as you placed your book away. "I am always right," he said with a smirk.
"Tell me again why am I your friend?" you joked. Renjun just chuckled as the two of you walked off to meet Yeji for the Quidditch match.
“This is gonna be a fair game. I don’t want to see any foul moves,” the referee spoke eyeing Jaemin. Jaemin held his hands up in defense. “It’s not my fault I get bored,” he retort. The referee rolled her eyes looking away from the boy.
Jeno gripped tightly onto his brown stick glaring at Jaemin. Jaemin hadn’t even noticed Jeno until he happened to be in his line of sight. When the two made eye contact Jeno clenched his jaw.
Jaemin smirked at him flying his way. He raised a brow. “Jeno I know I am handsome but must you stare at me all day? First Potions and now during a Quidditch match?” He chuckled head falling back in that annoying asshole way. The two Slytherin boys next to him laughed.
Jeno huffed angrily. If there weren’t an arena of people watching he’d punch Jaemin so hard off his brown he’d hit straight to the ground. “Am I distracting you?” Jaemin asked dark gleam in his eyes.
“Nothing that you do matters to me Jaemin. You’re just an obstacle in my way. Once someone knocks you off your high horse you will soon realize that no one cares what you do,” Jeno mocked. Jaemin chuckled sneering at the captain. Jeno felt proud for a moment. But Jaemin never being able to keep shut had to get the last laugh.
“Nothing I do may matter,” he tilted his head a bit motioning to the side. Unbothered by Jeno’s insults.
“But maybe what she does well,” he taunted. Jeno turned following the line Jaemin formed with his eyes that pointed straight to you. There you were sitting between Renjun and Yeji. Chatting with them and every so often glancing over sending heart eyes to Jaemin. It made his stomach turn seeing that out of all the male students at this school you chose Jaemin.
“You see,” he began. Jeno turned his head back to him. “She’s here because I invited her. She told me about the chat you two shared last night. You do have a way with words,” he spoke softly to Jeno. It made his inside rise in flames. He gritted his teeth as he spoke. Jaemin who remained calm was secretly enjoying every minute of this interaction. Seeing Jeno’s eyebrows twist and lip snarl at him like an angry dog made today’s match so much more worth showing up.
“Let’s see how well you play today,” he derisive. He flew back to his side along with his friends to begin the game. Jeno tried his best to not let Jaemin get to him. But the truth couldn’t leave his mind. You were here for Jaemin not for him. You were supporting him. You were spending time with him.
Jeno decided he wouldn’t let Jaemin off that easily. He knew beating him in a Quidditch match would mean absolutely nothing to Jaemin. Jaemin was only on the team because his father forced him to. Jaemin couldn’t care less if he won or lost.
He needed to get you back. He just didn’t know how.
To no one’s surprise, the Gryffindor team had won. All the Gryffindor students cheered celebrating another victory. Jeno and his team walk through the crowd collecting high-fives and congratulations. He smiled brightly as he made his way through the crowd. The winning glow was evident on his face.
Once he finally exited he walked into his tent to change. He was halfway changing when he heard someone call for him outside. He could see the shadow of a girl. Probably Samantha he thought with a small frown. He walked over opening the tent only to be met with you.
Stunned would be a lazy way to describe the look on his face to see you standing there. While he remained holding the tent opening back standing in nothing but slacks and a pair of sneakers. His torso is exposed to you and glistening in the sunlight. Water droplets from his hair hit the grass. A few droplets even glided down his chest. Sliding straight down his abs. Few even resting in the waistline of his slacks. You almost covered your eyes but your hands didn’t let you.
The words “I’m sorry” barely fell from your lips as you stole another peak from his chiseled frame. You cursed at yourself. Jeno feeling a little shy scratched the back of his head hair slightly bouncing. You cleared your throat trying to keep your cool. The two years apart treated him well you thought.
“Y/n,” he began. “I didn’t know you’d stop by,” he spoke keeping his eyes on you. You were making every attempt to avert from his gaze and nodded. “I didn’t either. I was looking for,”
“Jaemin?” He questioned. You nodded slowly eyes hesitantly scanning down for a moment before quickly looking away. For some reason, you felt nervous around Jeno. The sound of students running past distracted you for a brief second before Jeno spoke. “Would you like to come in?” He asked. You felt the dryness in your throat. The best you could answer him back with was with a nod.
He moved to the side allowing you to step in. You looked around the tent. You had always seen it but had never been inside of it before. You looked around the large tent which from the outside was deceivingly small. While you looked around Jeno pulled a shirt over his frame. A few strands of hair stuck to his forehead.
You turned to Jeno. “This is very large compared to the outside,” you observed. He nodded hands in his pockets. “It is a simple spell. Taught by someone I know well,” he spoke small smile on his lips. You knew he was talking about you. You hid your smile turning to look around at the stuff he had. A few broomsticks and medals from past sports he played.
You walked over to a small table in the middle of the tent. On it were a few books and crumbled papers. But something was peaking underneath a Spells textbook. You picked it up. Lifting it to get the picture underneath. It was a photo of both you and Jeno. From your first year here when he tried out for the Quidditch team. You smiled fond of the memory. Jeno was so nervous. You had to talk him out of the bathroom stall, for him to almost miss tryouts.
Jeno leaned over your shoulder looking down at the photo too. “I remember that day,” he spoke fondly of the memory. “I was so nervous I felt like I was going to throw up,” he remembered laughing a bit. You motioned him watching the way his eyes formed crescents. Your chuckles died down. It was a beautiful time but that was the past. Your smile fell and you placed the photo back down.
“I should,” you cleared your throat. “I should probably get going,” you said moving past him. He looked away from the photo and at you concerned for the next time he’d see you. He followed you to the opening of the tent. “Must you leave so soon?” He asked. You sighed wishing he’d let you go. “Yes,” you said trying to leave but Jeno didn’t let you. It would be better for you if you left.
“Why?” He asked. “I thought we were sharing a moment,” he hinted at a small smile on his lips. You shook your head letting out a huff. “I’m sorry if I give you the wrong impression Jeno. I didn’t mean to come in and touch your things. I am sorry for that,” you apologized. You sounded completely robotic. The tone and words coming from your lips are so foreign.
Everything in the room was yours so long as it was his. The tent was yours, the photo, the book, and even himself. He let out a defeated sigh. There was nothing left for him to say or do. So instead he let his frustration show.
“I do not know how else to please you,” he spoke making you pause. “Please me?” You questioned. His hands rose frantically as he walked away from you too upset to even bother to ask you to stay. You wanted to follow by you stood at the opening. That was what was best for you, you thought.
He nodded holding the photo of the two of you in his hands. He stared longly at the picture. "Why did you come in here?" he asked. Taken back by his question you swallowed thickly. "Because you invited me in"
He shook his head. His sudden change of tone made you feel small. His back tenses underneath his shirt. He turned to you confusion in his eyes. "That is not why and you know it," he stated. Your eyes were wide. Similar look to a child who had gotten caught stealing candy.
"I don't know," you responded. "I guess I just wanted to," you said quietly.
"But why?" he asked. You huffed hand falling in frustration. "Y/n," Jeno called to you as you walked towards the tent opening. Your hand swung to open the tent. Only to be confronted by Samnatha. She was just about to walk inside. The wide smile on her lips until she saw you. Stunned her smile fell. She cleared her throat lips pursing. Her head fell a bit.
You turned to him ushering to Samantha. "This is why," you said a shudder leaving your lips as you walked away. Leaving Jeno standing there alone just as confused as he was last night.
You marched down the grass quickly searching for a way out of this field. You had thankfully found Yeri talking with Renjun by the exit back into the school. You walked over to the two of them greeting them with smiles.
"Y/n are you alright?" Yeri asked. You nodded gently touching your face. It was warm, and a bit sweaty. "I'm fine," you hushed. Yeri not convinced but not wanting to push you just nodded a small frown on her lips. Renjun sent a concerned glance to Yeri who shrugged. Renjun assumed it had something to do with Jaemin.
Days had passed since you last spoke with Jeno. It seemed Jeno tried his best to avoid you at all costs. At first, it confused you. He had tried so hard to get your attention. Now the same boy was leaving rooms when you entered, or turning his back to look away from you.
Yeri had noticed the energy shift the same way you had felt it. You decided to not put your mind to it. But it was hard. If Jeno wanted to fix things between the two of you then why did he lie? Why was he avoiding you? It hurt to know that the same boy you once called your best friend. The boy whose shoulder you cried on when Jaehyun left. The boy who fought Jaemin more times than you can count because he teased you. Was treating you as if he didn't even know you.
It made you feel like shit.
You wanted to ignore it. It was easy to ignore him. It was hard to ignore your feelings. Which made it difficult to hide the emotions on your face in the rare moments he did look your way. But the much-needed Holiday vacation would be the best distraction from Jeno. You had said goodbye to Yeri and Renjun when you reached the station. Watching as Yeri ran to her mother. Seeing, who you could only assume was Jaemin's mother, standing next to her.
Yeri came to your side. She wrapped her arm around yours. "I want you to meet my mom," she smiled. She walked you over and introduced you. Jaemin came to your side introducing you to his mother as well. You were very surprised to see such a difference between him and his mother. She was so kind. And Jaemin was Jaemin.
You made your way to your parents after wishing the pair a Happy Holidays. Your parents both waiting for you with open arms.
"I want to know everything," your mother said flopping onto your bed. You rolled your ears playing with the ears of your old stuffed bunny. She chuckled waiting for you to tell her all about your time spent away. Your head fell back shutting your eyes for a moment. You whined, "Do I have to tell you everything?" you asked. She nodded, "Yes. Unless it's something I don't want to know," she joked.
You opened your eyes and saw she was still staring at you. Waiting for you to talk. You huffed, "Fine," you said letting out a sigh.
You told your mom about your studies. Time spent with Yeri. You told her you and Renjun worked out your differences. You told her Jaemin wasn't bothering you much anymore. Leaving out the parts where you hooked up with them.
Your mother noticed quickly when your energy shifted. The smile on your lips fading. There was something you weren't telling her. She decided to ask to see if her theories were true.
"And Jeno? This is a big year for you guys. Are you still not friends with one another?" she asked. You sighed placing the bunny to the side. You shrugged pulling at the loose stitches on your bed sheet.
"No," you responded. Your mother kept her bottom lip between her teeth listening to you closely. "He doesn't talk to me anymore after he confessed his love to Samantha in front of the whole class," your words dying down quietly. She widened her eyes confused. She shook her head. "Wait. I thought he liked you," she said in the form of a question.
You sighed, "I thought so too," you responded. Your mom paused watching you.
"Do you like him Y/n?" she asked. You shrugged. "I'm not sure," you said back. "Then why does it bother you so much? This Samantha girl," she asked. "Because I thought I liked him. Last year I did. But," your words faded.
"But?" she asked.
You let out a breath wishing you could avoid this question. Your mom waiting for you to finish. "I got close with Renjun," you confessed. She sat back a bit. "But didn't you two no get along? I mean I know you fixed it but already?" she asked. You shook your head. Trying to figure out where everything changed. You were just as confused as her. "We're friends. He's a nice guy," you said. She nodded, "Okay," she responded.
You bit your lip. Your mom watched you. "Y/n?" she questioned a nervous look in your eyes. "Is there something else?" she asked. You nodded.
"What?" she asked. "I like Jaemin too," you confessed. Her jaw dropped. She sat back surprised. "Jaemin? I can understand Renjun. But Jaemin? Doesn't Jeno hate him? Don't you hate him?" she asked trying to figure this entire situation out. "How did this even happen?" she asked. "He was there when I needed someone. He knew the right things to say," you said pleading your case a bit embarrassed by having to say this all out loud.
She blinked a few times. "That's it?" she asked. "Don't judge me," you said back. She nodded, "I'm sorry," she said placing a hand on her chest. "Forgive me. I'm just trying to figure this out," she said.
"Me too," you said letting out a tired sigh. You flopped back on your bed. Head landing on your pillow. Your mom rubbed your arm gently. She sent you a half smile. She worried for you but she knew something like this you'd figure out. She's always known how smart you are.
While spending time at home your parents let you work at the Flower Shop to earn extra cash. Christmas was a busy time of year for your family's shop. Many men come in to buy flowers to propose to their girlfriends on Christmas. Poinsettias were your most popular flower, especially with all the Holiday dinners and parties many people were hosting.
You smiled as you finished wrapping a bundle of Hellebore. You handed it to the young man. He thanked you and left. Once he stepped out of the shop you heard the bell above ring twice. Looking up you saw the familiar face you had seen through most of your life. Jeno's mom stepped into the flower shop holding her purse close to her. She admired the flowers as she stepped inside. Her observing eyes met yours. She smiled walking over to you.
"Y/n hello," she greeted. You smiled at her standing behind the wooden counter. "It's good to see you," she said excited smile on her lips. You nodded in agreement. "Likewise," you responded. "How's school?" she asked. You sighed trying not to think too hard of an answer. "It's good. Sad it's ending," you slightly frowned. She chuckled lightly. "I would be sad too if I attended a school for wizards," she responded.
There was a slight pause before she spoke again. "How's Jeno been doing?" she asked curiously. "He doesn't tell me much," she said a hint of sadness in her tone. You weren't sure how to answer her. You tapped your finger on the counter. "I'm not too sure. We don't speak much anymore," you said back. Her lips scrunched to the side as he nodded. "Yeah, that's unfortunate. You guys we're close. I enjoyed seeing him happy," she said with a smile. You could see the change in her face. Her mind brings her back to the fond memories of you and Jeno together.
"He's still being an ass isn't he?" she asked. Taken back by her description of her son you didn't respond. She brushed it off. She shrugged. "Is he?" she asked. You decided to just nod. She pursed her lips shaking her head. She rested her arm on the counter loosening the grip on her purse.
"What am I gonna do that boy?" she questioned out loud the billing dinging as she finished. Jeno walked inside dressed in dark jeans and a black jacket wearing a hoodie over his head. He walked in acting as if the two of you didn't create chaos in this shop. You shifted your weight over to the register trying to distract yourself. Jeno's mom turned at your sudden change of attitude seeing her son walk inside and towards her.
"Jeno," she said a bit surprised. "I thought I told you to wait inside the car," she responded. He shrugged, "You were taking too long. I came to see what was wrong," he said eyes briefly meeting your frame. You scoffed grabbing both their attention. His mother didn't react much to you. Understanding why you grew quickly annoyed. He was being an ass, again.
"Problem?" he questioned. You huffed, "No," you responded trying to keep your control. "Doesn't seem like it," he argued back. You poked the inside of your mouth with your tongue shutting your eyes for a moment. "There's no issue," you said back. He shoved his hands in his pockets. "Then I don't know why you sound like there is," he said back. His arm hit him in the arm to stop but he didn't.
"I'm not Jaemin, Jeno. Your poor attempt of coming in here and getting me to react is not going to work," you said opening the register and counting the money inside before you closed it back up. His mom looked over at him. Now annoyed with him as well for embarrassing her and himself. She tugged at his arm to leave but he remained still. "Jeno come on," she said pulling a bit harsher. He didn't budge he just stood there staring.
"I bet you'd like for him to be here," he said back. You kept your focus on tending the flowers behind you. Your back now facing him.
"You know he doesn't like you right?" he said a chuckle leaving his lips. "What's it to you if he likes me or not? You are in love with Samnatha. Remember?" you asked. Jeno huffed lips forming a tight line. Your back was still facing him but you knew the effect your words had on him. He gritted his teeth. His mom was not watching the two of you, trying to pull Jeno away. She knew the two of you were moments away from saying something to destroying the last saving bits of your relationship.
"You're right. I don't care whether Jaemin likes you are not. I could care less," he said back. "So then why are you still talking about it like you do?" you asked throwing everything back in his face which he was tired of.
"I don't," he said back. "Sounds like you do," you argued back. The two of you bickering like children.
"Enough!" his mom shouted. She grabbed Jeno's arm this time successful in moving him away. "I'm sorry Y/n. Well see you at the Party," she said as she left. When the door shut you felt bad. You genuinely liked his mom. It felt embarrassing to argue in front of her. To show her that side of yourself.
Once the guilt faded the pit in your stomach of the party tomorrow remained.
"Why me?" you asked out loud frustratedly.
The few days you spent in your home city were filled with family, celebrating the Holidays, and more unfortunate and irritating interactions with Jeno. It didn't help Jeno lives across the street from you. You could see him on your way to the flower shop every morning. Shoveling snow off his front yard. He'd look up in your direction. Adjusting his hat that fell over his eyes. Watching as you entered your parent's car. Place your coffee inside first before you sit down.
He watched you wipe off the side of your window and then start the car. You pulled out of the driveway driving away from your house and to the flower shop. Jeno scrunched his nose and upper lip turning up as he turned away. He dug the shovel hard into the snow. His cheeks were bright red from the cold. He shivered cool air leaving his lips. He went back inside once he finished.
Stepping into his empty house he removed his shoes. Placing his coat on the rack by the door and leaving his sweater on. He stepped towards the kitchen to make something to eat when he found something on his kitchen table. He walked over to it finding a folded piece of paper laying, folded with his name written on the front. A hellebore flower lying on top. He picked up the flower. Turned it in his fingers. He smiled for a moment.
This was one of your favorite flowers. He knew everything he could know about this very flower because of you. The memory soon faded from his mind when he remembered a note was still waiting for him on the table. He picked it up gently placing the flower down.
He opened the note reading the few lines written down.
Meet me at the Flower Shop.
There are things we have to discuss.
He held the letter in his hand. Frown forming on his lips. He wanted to meet you but he had just confessed to Samantha. A false confession but still he couldn't do that to her. He held the letter in his hand a painful feeling in his heart. He crumbled the note. Tossing it away. He would go to see you but only to end your relationship for good.
When he walked into the Flower Shop you and another worker both looked up at the door at the sound of the bell. Seeing it was Jeno you sneered turning back to your phone hoping he’d go away. But he didn’t. He walked to the register waiting for you to look at him. You could see him. Moving your eyes up but not your head. When he remained just standing there tapping his fingers on the wooden table you sighed.
You put your phone in your green apron giving Jeno a fake smile. “How can I help you?” You asked him. His fingers stopped tapping. Coming together to make a small fist. “I need to talk to you,” he said lips forming a thin line. You shrugged, “Too bad. I’m busy,” you responded.
He huffed shaking his head annoyed. “I’m serious,” he said but you ignored him. Hoping an actual customer would walk in. His fist unfolded. He sighed deeply his nostrils flaring. You ignored him. “Y/n I got your note this morning,” he said hoping a calmer approach would get you to talk.
You raised a brow looking over at him. “What note?” You asked. Jeno scoffed, “Don’t act confused. I know you wrote it,” he said sure of himself. You shook your head. Jeno now growing quickly frustrated with you brought his fingers to his temples. Why were acting so lost? It was clear the note was from you.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” He asked the tiredness in his tone. “Because I have no clue where you’re talking about,” you responded now leaving the register. You picked up a watering pot walking over to a few flowers. Jeno followed behind you.
Your coworker quickly left to attend to the flowers in the back.
“Let me make it simple then. You wrote a note. Then somehow left it on my kitchen table. Simple,” he said fake tone and smile on his lips. They both feel quickly.
“And let me make this simple for you. I didn’t write the note,” you said back almost slamming the watering pot down. You placed a hand on your hip annoyed. “Now leave. If you stay here any longer you’ll scare off the customers,” you said turning away to attend to a few more flowers.
“Then who wrote the note? Because I have a hard time believing it wasn’t you,” he continued. Your head fell back growing tired of him chasing you around like this. “Jeno I already told you it wasn’t me,” you said back. You’re back facing him. You turned to walk away again.
“There was a Hellebore beside it,” he said eyes watching you closely to see if you’d finally slip. He watched as you shook your head. “I’m telling you Jeno it wasn’t me,” you responded now confused. Who would write a letter from you to him? You tried your best to think about the situation. Unlike Jeno who still sat there waiting for some confession.
“A Hellebore?” You questioned out loud. He nodded. You focused zoning in on a few Hellebore’s in the shop. You tried to put some of the pieces together. Your mind led you to yesterday. Yesterday you had a few customers. None of them picked up hellebores except Jeno’s mother.
You sighed looking down. Jeno thought you were finally gonna confess. You turned around as he waited arms resting over his chest. “You remember when we were eight and we got into that fight by the pond? The one in the park where our parents had that picnic so my mom could watch the Tulips bloom,” you asked. Jeno only nodded in response.
“Remember how we didn’t want to talk to each other afterward so your mom told me you were waiting for me by the slide? Then she told you I was waiting by the slide as well?” You asked hoping he’d start to realize where you were going with this. You waited for a moment giving him time to process. Then his eyes changed. The realization on his face. He poked the inside of his cheek. He shook his head.
“I can’t believe my mom did it again,” he said with a chuckle. You chuckled too both of you smiling. If anyone else saw you’d look close. For you two this moment felt normal. Even if he was chuckling out of anger. You had missed the sound of his laugh.
“Me either,” you said back small smile on your lips. The laughter between the two of you died down. Replaced with a similar tension as before. Your eyes met Jeno’s. His eyes wandered. Looking everywhere but yours.
“I’m sorry about that,” he said. His hands dug into his pockets. His black boot gently kicked the wooden flower. A few leaves on the ground kicked away from the air of his boot. “I shouldn’t have barged in here and accused you. I should have known it wasn’t you,” he said the guilt in his tone.
You sighed shaking your head. “You couldn’t have known. What did the note say?” You asked. Jeno looked up at you. Not all the way. He just picked his head up a bit. “It said to come here. That we had things to discuss,” he summarized.
You nodded. “So,” you started. Your hands fiddled around the watering pot in your hands. “Do we have things to discuss?” You asked. Jeno swallowed shaking his head. “No. Not that I know of,” he said. He inhaled sharply exhaling as he turned to leave. You followed behind him placing the pot down. “Jeno,” you called. He sighed back facing you.
“Y/n please,” he spoke quietly.
You stood there eyes facing his back. You were tired of running away from your problems. Jeno was here now and even if you weren’t going to get answers you liked. You had to confront him. Now was your chance. “Jeno,” you called again. He sighed back muscles tensing up. He refused to turn to you. It hurt you but you brushed it off. Telling yourself it’s only because he didn’t want to face the truth.
“Jeno you can’t keep walking away. Especially not upset. Not when you’re prone to stupidity,” you said causing him to scoff. “What is that supposed to mean?” He asked. You shook your head. Tongue poking the inside of your mouth. “Not important. What’s important is we talk about everything that’s been going on. The way you’ve been acting with me,” you said. Jeno continued to focus his anger on you. You could feel the tension rise the more Jeno tried to pull away.
“Look there you go again,” you waved your hand.
“Shutting me out like you always do. A couple of weeks ago you would have begged me to talk to you. Now I’m standing here telling you I’m ready to talk and you just want to walk away,” you argued.
“Well, I’m prone to stupidity, right? Isn’t that what you think?” He asked still hurt by your comment.
“Well you haven’t done a good job at proving me wrong,” you spat back. There it was again. The back and forth. You two would never get anywhere if you continued to fight like children. Fighting to avoid talking about the issues was better for Jeno. It meant he wouldn’t have to own up to what he did. You weren’t having any of it. You weren’t going to apologize for anything. Not until Jeno straightened himself out and dealt with the issues at hand.
“Oh really? How have I done that?” He asked now turning to argue better with you. It was easier to look at you when he was pissed. He didn’t have to focus on the small details of your face. He couldn’t act like you weren’t even there. Like he was arguing by himself. Until you respond. He wouldn’t admit it but a part of him liked it when you argued back with him. For the same two reasons. One it meant he got under your skin and two it meant he got to hear your voice.
“I don’t know. Maybe when you told Samantha you were in love with her,” you spat like venom. Jeno froze but only for a moment. “I didn’t tell her I was in love with her,” he huffed out. The level of his volume is rising. “So describing to the class what she smells like after smelling a potion that makes you smell the scent of what or who you love isn’t a confession. Jeno do you think that I am stupid?” You questioned now irritated beyond return.
“I mean how could you sit here and lie to my face? Act as if you have done nothing wrong,” you said voice cracking a bit. You could feel the pit in your stomach form an uncomfortable knot. Jeno bit his cheeks. He was just as upset as you. His fist balled together, knuckles a bright shade of white.
“Why does it even matter?” He asked.
“It matters to me,” you spoke back stepping closer. “Why?” He raised his voice a bit. The both of you getting louder. Your coworker even flinched at the sound of Jeno’s voice.
“Why does it matter to you who I love?!” He asked yelling.
“It just matters!” You shouted back feeling the heat in your face rise.
“Well, it shouldn’t!” He shouted back turning away and knocking down a flower pot. You both ignored it. He walked outside in the snow. The snow coming down hard. You followed dressed in jeans and an apron. Jeno took one look at you and ushered you away.
“Y/n get back inside,” he spoke trying to back you to the door. You shook your head crossing your arms over your chest. You could feel the snow on top of your boots. The cold winter wind hitting your cheeks. You shuddered air leaving your lips. You ignored it. Tears from the strong breeze appeared in the corner of your eyes.
“Y/n get back inside!” Jeno shouted over the wind. You two were the only ones on the street. The rising blizzard keeping everyone at home. You shook your head. “No. Not until you tell me why,” you stood there stubbornly. He huffed kicking the snow. The air left his lips.
“Go inside!” He yelled frustratingly. As the temperature dropped he became more and more worried for you. And your stubbornness was pissing him off even more.
“I’ll go in once you answer the question!” You shouted back. The cold air started to hit your cheek. It hurt but you didn’t move. Jeno huffed angrily kicking some more snow. He marched his way over to you grabbing onto your shoulders. He tried to move you but you held your ground.
“All this just to avoid a question!” You yelled at him. He continued but you fought against him. “Y/n just fucking go inside,” he cursed lips a bright red followed by his cheeks. Your lips formed a tight line as you used all your strengths to fight against him. “I won’t,” you responded. He let go of you causing you to move forward a bit. He put his hands up.
“Fine. Stay out. I don’t care,” he said as he started walking away.
“Coward!” You shouted at him. He stopped in his tracks. He turned to you now even more pissed. Coward? A coward for what? Letting you go inside? Leaving you alone. Isn’t that what you have always wanted? He was giving you what you wanted. What he needed if he was ever going to try and live a normal life without you.
“What?” He asked now closer to your face.
“You heard me. You’re a coward,” you said back looking him dead in his eyes. “If I’m a coward so are you,” he said back gritting his teeth. Your arms found their way over your chest. More of an attempt to keep you warm than holding your guard. “How so?” You asked him a bit of sarcasm in your tone.
“First you get close to Renjun avoiding me. Then Jaemin? How many more guys are you going to befriend before they all lead you right back to me?” He asked. Now he was being a dick just to piss you off. You scoffed. He hoped that would make you go inside. But instead, he was met with your hand flying across his cheek before you walked away. Now he had to follow you in.
The bell dinged and then it dinged again when Jeno came in. Your entire body was shuddering. Your teeth with chattering as you walked behind the register. Your whole body felt ice cold when Jeno tried to reach behind you and touch your shoulder. You reached up for your sweater. Slipping it through your arms and wrapping it around your body.
“You can go,” you said to Jeno nasty tone in your voice. Jeno had no time to process the slap. He knew he crossed the line, again. “Y/n I…” he started but you ignored him. You reached for a tea bag placing it in a mug. You held the mug walking to the sink. You filled it with water and headed to the back where your coworker was. You looked over at him.
“Go home for the rest of the day. There’s a blizzard, I’ll close,” you said. He stood up quickly grabbed his belongings and left. You used your wand hidden in your sleeve to close the doors.
“We’re not allowed to use magic,” he began. You walked over to the microwave placing the mug inside. “Yes, we are. You have to be seventeen. You and I are older than that,” you said back placing the microwave to a minute. “I just can’t do magic when John is here,” you said watching the numbers go down. You looked over at Jeno who was still standing there.
“Goodbye,” you said annoyed on your face. He sighed moving closer to you. You back up a bit. He picked up a blanket and lay on the couch nearby. He walked over to you placing it over your shoulders. You shook your head walking over to the couch and sitting down. “This doesn’t change anything,” you said. He nodded sitting beside you.
“I know. But I’m sorry,” he said. You huffed turning away. “I should have gone back inside,” you said after a few moments of silence. He looked over at you. He went to speak but the microwave went off. He got up before you did bringing you the hot tea. He placed it on the table in front of you. You picked it up. The steam lightly hits your face. The warmth felt good.
“I shouldn’t have followed you out,” you said.
“But you did,” he said back. “I would have followed you too” following up. You shook your head. “Would you? I mean this whole time you’ve been acting like I don’t even exist,” you said a hint of sadness in your voice. “Am I that bad?” You asked feeling all the hidden emotions start to come out in and out of you.
He shook his head turning to you. “No no. It’s me,” he said lightly hitting his chest. “I’m the reason you’re freezing right now. I’m the reason why you’re hurting. I’m sorry,” he apologized again. You sipped your tea before you placed it back down.
“Is it easier to apologize for that?” You asked. Jeno raised a brow. He didn’t understand where you were going with this. “I’m not following,” he said.
“It is easier to apologize for being a bad friend when you know deep down there’s something else you want to say?” You asked. You turned more to him. “Because Jeno this goes beyond being a bad friend. You lied to me. Not just by confessing to Samantha but back at the Yule ball when you were with her,” you said all the same feelings you felt that night coming back. Jeno’s eyes widened a bit but he continued to listen.
“You’re right. It doesn’t matter who you date because we’re not together but, you treated me like I meant more to you than your friend. You made me believe that to you I was special,” you said.
“You are special to me,” he tried to say but you didn’t let him. “Not in that way. Not in the way I wanted to be. I liked you Jeno. There were times when you were all I could think about. Will he notice the pin on my cloak today? Will he compliment the new spell I learn? Will he be at the party tonight? How will he look? Will he think I’m beautiful? My heart burned for you Jeno and you put out the flames the minute you kissed Samantha,” you said tears now falling from your eyes.
Jeno felt terrible. It felt at this moment he didn’t describe you, not even to see you cry. Even if you forgave him he didn’t deserve to be your friend. He had disrespected you and it hurt him. His whole life with you was spent protecting you from all the assholes in the world and here was, just like Renjun and just like Jaemin.
“I’m not in love with Samantha,” he said almost whispering it if he spoke any lower. You tilted your head. “I know,” you said. He sent you a half smile. Now his eyes turn a bit red. A pink shade formed on his cheeks. “That’s part of the reason why we’re here,” you said back. His sad eyes looked at you waiting for you to continue.
“Before Samantha, you had an entirely new friend group which was fine. I wanted you to find people who enjoyed the same things as you. I know I’m into Quidditch like you. I wasn’t even into football when we were younger and you played,” you smiled a bit at the memories. The curve of your lips started to fall and quiver.
“But then they replaced me. They replaced us. You stopped caring. You didn’t come to my matches anymore. So I stopped going to your games. You’d ditch me in the garden to go to some party every time. And I never said anything because I wanted you to have fun. But then you stopped coming,” you said the words finally leaving your mouth. You licked your lips a taste of salt on your tongue.
“Then you asked me to the dance,” you smiled a bit feeling yourself get upset again. “I was so excited. I asked Yeri to help me find a dress. She helped with my hair and makeup. I felt so pretty. Then I saw you and my night was ruined. I just didn’t understand why. I think that’s what hurt,” you said a few more tears falling. You felt your heart squeeze in your chest.
“Knowing that it was so easy for you to hurt me. When even now,” your hands fell slapping your thigh. “It hurts me to see you upset,” you confessed. Jeno took a moment to think about everything you said. He couldn’t stop his tears from falling. He felt like such an asshole. He wanted nothing more than to hold you. Tell you he’s sorry as many times as he could until you forgave him. He wanted to go back and time and change what he did. But he couldn’t.
He looked at you again. Seeing the pain all over your frame. The sniffles that left you and your hand squeezed your apron. Your knuckles are a bright white. He chewed on his lips. He couldn’t forgive himself for hurting his best friend.
“I’m sorry Y/n. There is no excuse for what I did. My friends were teasing me about taking you instead of Samantha and like an asshole I listened. I should have taken you. I shouldn’t have listened to them. I will forever be sorry for that. I’ll say it as many times as you need to hear it. I’m sorry for being such a terrible friend. I’m sorry I didn’t treat you the way you deserved. I should have been a better friend to you,” he said hand reaching out to touch yours. The warmth of his hand made you flinch a bit before you relaxed into his touch.
“I should have loved you like you loved me,” he said causing you to look up into his eyes. His face is inches away from yours and red. “Y/n,” he spoke looking deeply into your eyes.
“I’m in love with you,” he confessed.
You felt a huge weight rest on your chest. More tears formed in your eyes. Your lip quivered. Your eyebrows furrowed and your eyes fell heavy. Your chest filled with heat. You felt all the pain and heartache resurface.
“Jeno,” you spoke. You could see the hope swimming around in his eyes. His hand let go of yours. He wore a gentle smile on his lips. He looked as if he knew what you were going to say. So he leaned in close closing the gap between the two of you and placing his lips on yours.
The kiss was soft. He gently placed his hand on your cheek pulling you close. Afraid if he'd let go you'd run away. When he pulled away the both of you sat there silently. The only sound is your shared breaths. Both of you looked each other in the eyes.
Jeno instantly pulled you back in a much more passionate kiss. He pulled you close to him. The blanket quickly slipped from your shoulders. His hands gripped the back of your head pulling you closer to him. You kissed back hand cupping his jaw and the other on his chest. Jeno was the one to pull back. Both of you panting. He shook his head sitting back.
It made you worry. He noticed the look on your face. Shaking his head he took your hands on his. He licked his lips. They still tasted like the tea you had drank. “I want too. I really do baby but not like this,” he said motioning to the break room of your parents flower shop. You nodded feeling a bit more relaxed. Jeno chuckled finger lightly grazing your cheek. He leaned back, shutting his eyes and placing a soft peck on your lips. He slowly pulled away eyes still a bit closed.
“What was that for?” You asked small laughter leaving your chest. He shrugged the pad of his thumb still resting on your chin. “Because it felt so good the first time,” he said.
He pulled back standing up. He raised his hand out to you. You looked up at him. You let the blanket fall and you took it. He lifted you off the couch.
“Let me take you home. We have to catch the train tomorrow,” he spoke softly as he walked you out. Hot tear stains on his cheeks. And voice shakey as he walked you out to his car slipping his coat onto you. Then he drove you home.
The car ride was silent. When the car reached your place he waited for a moment. He stopped tapping on the wheel. He looked over at you eyes glowing. “Want to take the train together tomorrow?” He asked. You nodded.
A smile formed on his lips. “Thank you for the ride. Goodnight Jeno,” you said. You turned to exit the car. Just as you were about to exit Jeno’s hand touched yours. You turned to him and he leaned forward placing his lips on yours. You kissed him back. He smiled into the kiss and you did the same. Hand reaching to graze his soft features.
He leaned his forehead against yours. A while ago you would have dreamed of this moment. And it was finally coming true. But when your hand fell from his face and you left the car. Watching as he parked it into his drive way. You could feel your heart swell. The notification that popped on your phone didn’t help either.
You took it out your pocket seeing a message from Jaemin, then Renjun.
Jaemin- Sit with me on the train? Darling.
Renjun- Would you like to sit beside me tomorrow?
Once you stepped inside your house. Closing the door and leaving the rest of the world behind you let out a breath. The rest of the school year was going to get a whole lot more stressful. Especially now when it’s obvious to you none of the guys are going to give up.
You just have to chose which one you want.
To Be Continued….

This felt like a right place to end. I really love this storyline but I can’t give to much before the final part. I’m excited and sad to see it end. I really enjoyed writing this small series and plan to do more Harry Potter stories in the future.
I want to make the next part a bit more interactive so stay tuned!
Until then see you soon;)

Long ramble incoming, so apologies in advance !!!
I know you’re a Batfleck enthusiast (as am I), so I’ve been diving back into some research on him. Since there isn’t a ton of material to fully flesh out his character, I always like hunting for new details. I’ve been a fan of him and BvS for years, but every now and then, I like revisiting things to see if there’s anything I missed or to find new perspectives.
So, I was browsing through Batman Wiki — not the most reliable source, I know, unless we’re talking Reeves-verse — but I came across something in the section about his personality that caught my eye. It said:
“In the 20 years of crime-fighting, Bruce Wayne became a psychologically damaged and almost sociopathic individual. And while Batman had a moral code to never kill, he changed his rules after the world was introduced to Superman in the destructive battle with General Zod in Metropolis…”
Now, here’s what bothered me: they’re saying Bruce broke his no-kill rule because of the Zod/Superman battle, but in my mind, it’s always been that he snapped after Robin’s death — which we later found out was Dick Grayson. That seems way more logical to me. Like, after everything Bruce had been through, losing Dick would’ve been the tipping point that shattered his moral code, and the Zod event just pushed him further into darkness...
What do you think about that?
This is something I've tried to parse both with some previous Batfleck posts and my room full of coral BVS series, so I appreciate you bringing it up! I agree, I've always disliked that the impetus for the Bat "going bad" in BVS is seen as Black Zero. If we're giving Snyder some credit, perhaps it's presented in a way such that Batman is already vulnerable/teetering on the edge of his own code, and the Black Zero pushed him over the edge into full-blown damage.
But yeah, the route I took in my own fic was that Robin's loss (I went with Jason, not knowing Snyder was thinking of Dick) was the start of the end for the Bat's moral code. There's a famous line in BVS, "There's a new kind of mean in him." Multiple characters discuss the new lawlessness the Bat has in encounters with people, but just like us, they're kind of puzzled how it relates to the bigger picture.
We the audience are shown, multiple times, why Bruce would be affected by Black Zero, and how this would bleed into Batman. We are then also shown Robin's memorial case, suggesting that it's all connected. Lex Luthor uses Bruce's loss to pit him further against Superman, multiple times. And yet, still -- Bruce's actions are only ever explained, on screen, by Superman and/or Zod. He doesn't even utter Robin's name. The closest we get is his conversation with Alfred in the Cave, where I think they mention the many losses over the years together, and how that bitterness seems inevitable to Bruce.
In my opinion, Snyder was doing a (kind of) clumsy job of linking Bruce's reaction to Superman to his own loss of Robin/other allies over the years in Gotham. I think this has more merit especially when we consider the "Martha" reveal, where he pulls back on his extremism upon reminder of the loss of his mother, the idea of forcing that on Superman, etc.
But. It doesn't come quite close enough to linking the two on-screen, explicitly, for it to truly explain Bruce's actions as the Bat. It suggests that Bruce was, as I said, teetering on the edge, and Superman's destruction pushed him over the edge. When I think, most viewers would rather view it the other way around -- losing Robin pushed him over the edge, and his viciousness when it comes to Superman is merely a consequence of that madness, that loss, that grief.
That's how I chose to explain it in my fic, at least. Bruce in BVS talks a lot about national security, about defense, about never being sure if you can fight off a stronger opponent. But his words ring hollow even to Alfred. Is this really about protecting the world from Superman? Batman's infamous contingencies don't really make an appearance in this movie; he barrels right into fighting Superman, at Lex's prodding, without much critical thought for why it's happening or what the consequences are.
I really like the first (adult) Bruce scene in the movie in Metropolis, and I think it does a good job of showing how loss of his employees can impact him. But losing Robin? Losing a child? I think that kind of grief and rage and madness would be far more convincing than what we see from Batfleck in the movie. It wouldn't even have to change much of his actions -- he would still brand people, beat them nearly to death, use weapons and lethal force he wouldn't before, all because there's no rules anymore without Robin.
It makes a lot more sense, and it would be instantly much more recognizable to Gothamites. "The Bat has a new mean in him [because he lost his Robin]" is far more compelling to me and I think would help make that lawlessness feel more in character. And it opens the door for the conflict with Superman, because there are no rules now, without Robin.
Anyway, sorry for the long response! Thank you for asking, I really enjoy digging into this point and as I've said, I kinda got really into a Robin-central BVS framework in my longer series, and it's been awesome re-writing it in that sense. So many more things make sense, through that lens.

Im back with more biodiversity rambling!!!
Went for a simpler style to doodle these guys out a little faster bc i have MANY thoughts always (warning this may or may not be coherent, i apologize in advance)
IMPOARTANT NOTE: the only thing even remotely canon here is the Forest and Reef Na'vi (debatable bc they are still my own interpretations), everything else is just my own musings and personal need for more variation among Na'vi.
In previous posts i think i mentioned the insane venn diagram that lives in my head of forever overlapping and endless combos of Na'vi yadayadayada, this is (LOOSLY) that.
SO, if you have seen my initial post (here) some of these guys might be familiar, but since then, i added Wetlands, Highlands, Glacier and Ash? people! And I have Thoughts ™️
Now I'm gonna hold off on Ash? people for the most part here, mostly because i am a creature that likes at least some level of "Canon Compliance" and we really won't know anything about them until the next film, so i have yet to form any solid headcanons. That being said, I do have a couple quick things:
The name 'Ash People' leads me to think that their generally building lives/evolving around volcanic areas, grey/darker skin tones from evolving around ash?
Thicker/rough skin (volcanic rocks are sharp!) and less fur/fluff on their tails.
Wetlands I imagine as clans that have evolved as a combo or River and Reef, but also Plains, as wetlands (at least as I understand them, i know that there's more to them than this but I am simplifying here) are effectively big wet fields.
I liked the idea of how if River Na'vi developed 'armor' due to swimming in constantly moving water with lots of rocks/fish/debree/etc, that Wetlands might be similar, but not quite on the same level.
Comparatively, Wetlands have no claws, and a thinner more paddle-like tail, more similar to Reef Na'vi.
Highlands I see as Plains Na'vi that evolved for colder biomes, so they keep the builds, maybe in general larger on average, closer coloring to Plains Na'vi and the longer tails, fur and claws of Mountain Na'vi.
Lastly Glacier Na'vi is the Mountain + Reef combo to create the giant spotted seal people of my dreams. I did not show it well here, but I think both Mountain and Glacier hold more fat in their bodies than other Na'vi, as well as Reef Na'vi being physically larger as well. That combo probably makes Glacier Na'vi massive (like 12-14 ft tall). Living in significantly colder climates, they need to be able to hold more heat in their bodies too, so they are physically much larger all around.
All of these are still just loose and I continue to be vague about a lot of it bc biodiversity and cultures that evolved around a given biome are two separate things to me. I like that these can be used as like umbrellas that the actual clan cultures can be born under, but not 'rules' or anything.
(I do have at least 1 (possibly 2) fan clan situations cooking in my noggin that i am slowly working on, but that's also something i want to be very conscientious about as I build it out.)
Anyways! Thanks for reading if you made it this far! Let me know your thoughts, I love talking about this sort of thing, hearing people's feedback and building off of it!!
