omg that demon!reader prompt.. big brain moment. which mercs would comfort their s/o when captured? like they cant help but sweep them up in their arms n stuff
This is so soft I love this.(yandere mercs)
Tw: Yandere, kidnapping, possessiveness, unhealthy relationships, unwanted affection (not nsfw), gaslighting (brief), attachment issues.
Demoman: Most likely, if you’ve driven Tavish to the point he needs to grab nab you you’re pretty reckless. Otherwise he wouldn't have tried to grab you. Anyway, Tav would make a whole deal out of hit, just happy to have you out of harms way and into his arms. He’d be suffocating for a week at the least, it’s enough to tell you how long Tavs been bleeping tabs on you. And enough to clue you in to just how much care he’s taken in makin y’all’s new house perfect for the two of you. He’s very much one to want to rush you into comfort, though sometimes at the expense of sanity. 10/10
Engineer: Oh boy, dell can tell you’re anxious and that it’s already not looking good for him. He loves you. And he knows he loves you, he knows it’s unhealthy. But the slightest bit of his delusional side is that you’re overreacting to the whole, ‘being captured thing.’ He can even get close to you no more without you trying to push him away so how’s he going to comfort you. If you’d let him he’d come and sit down with you quietly. Like a husband trying to coax his spouse out of a breakdown. Except that’s not what this is is it? He realizes that, and he’d comfort you if you let him but you’re not so what’s he gonna do exactly? 2/10
Heavy: Very calming from the start, like Tavish in a way. The way he captures you is less like capture and more like- “Wow this is a horrible natural disaster, might as well make it count.” Just- stretch it out. He claims that things are getting worse outside, and keeps you in. To quell his own anxiety he holds you close. He tries to tell you stories to keep you sane, and insists on staying at your side the entire time. He’s very lovable, and even more protective. Very silly, and always tries to comfort you. Although he downplays some of your fear because he truly believes he can protect you from anything. His attempts are good but there’s too much gaslighting for things to settle to a reasonable degree. 7/10
Medic: He doesn’t try, it just kind of happens. No matter what it WILL happen, he WILL capture you and that will be that. He cares about you a great deal, he should have you with him! And that translates to how he cares for you as well, he makes sure you’re not hurt throughout the whole thing. His banter also makes it seem more like moving in with a good friend rather than being abducted. His house is jarring and surprisingly cold, but his demeanor makes up for anything he lacks. Not to mention the swarm of kisses you’ll get if you don’t try and escape post capture. 8/10 surprisingly good!
Pyro: You wouldn’t realize until he told you straight up in which case it would get VERY eerie. A lot of what Pyro did prior was similar and one could assume based off that, that it was just how he acted but no. He’s pleasantly surprised you aren’t put off. When he tells you that and you realize you are HE panics. He’s no better at calming you down. Or comforting you. Rocking you back and forth before getting up to check the locks again. He’s a mess and he tries to hide it. 1/10, surprisingly BAD.
Scout: His moms the one that’s gotta do it. Her constant presence is a saving grace. Scout is supporting his Ma, so his capture isn’t traditional like the others. It’s more like a relationship entrapment, and he doesn't realize he’s doing wrong. So his Ma gives you advice, and food. Like- a lot of food, since she can see you’re shakin up over something. Her jokes are light hearted, and she helps you see where Scout's heart comes from. She doesn’t justify her son's actions, but she’s been in this predicament before and all she can suggest is to wait it out. Scout: 0 Ma: 10/10
Sniper: I am conflicted on this, where else would he focus but also- why would he try. Snipers an unhealthy mix of hyper aware and delusional at all times. Really he debated on nabbing you until he just pulled you off the road with a well placed dart. So justifyibly you’re shaky and awkward… but he’s always anxious, shaky, and awkward. (High off shrooms too maybe but that’s besides the point.) He thinks it’s cute to a degree and and offers to walk with you if that’ll clear your mind. But he then gets worried and dismisses the idea. He makes a couple of attempts that lead to him not finishing the job. In the end he just settles on popcorn and a film in silence. The attempt is there. 5/10
Soldier: I’m going off premarriage here. He will fuck you up more, between the shouting and the likely bombastic way he captures you, you’d be damned if you didn’t leave the scenario with no new phobias. When you finally settle down a bit, (as in stop hiding from him) you would be surprised with how patient he is. It’s unexpected but he’ll wait for what he wants if he truly cares. He’ll wait until you let him hug you then just curl up around you and say the cheesiest things just above a whisper. He also is a human pillow with a heater setting so that could help too! 7/10.
Spy: Like sniper he makes an honest attempt. Past relationships didn’t like his possessiveness but then again there wasn’t really a way to keep his Fling safe. Spy falls hard and fast, which is concerning given his position, but it’s always with people unconcerned with his expertise. You- you are the one that he can keep an eye on. He already has all the things you could need. A little area to calm yourself, but that’s not to say he wouldn’t struggle and try to get you to give him affection without him earning it. Seems like a charmer but ultimately can’t deal with himself or admit that you might just- not like him. 5.5/10
Hope you enjoyed!

Yandere Merc Dads (Imagine)
[Engie, Pyro, Scout]
A/n: I had to re-edit this since the voids of the internet decided my fully edited versions were a nice snack ;-;
Anyway! Sorry it took so long to come out but here's part two for yandere merc dads(and Pyro)!
Engie
Engies acquiring of you was...complicated. See he had resigned himself to a life with no kids. Despite the pressure from his family to get a wife and kids so that the family legacy could go on, some part of him knew that the cycle of Conager's wasn't healthy. A deep morality in him knew that he really shouldn't, that stopping the cycle of neglect and Mann Co puppets was something he needed to take on. However, when Pauling came by his workshop with a baby in hand that she was trying to convince him to take?...well a long forgotten instinct snapped once he saw your wide innocent eyes and how they looked at him with such great unknowing of the world. Engie had tried to push Pauling and you away at first, trying to stick to his own set of rules, but he didn't hold that resolve for long. Not when every other part of his mind was screaming to just allow this to happen.
"Paulin this- this really ain't a good idea-"
"You think I don't know that? I understand what I'm doing Mr Conager. I know what I'm asking you to do and I know it's batshit. Now, can you do it or not?"
He was very cautious of you at first. He took care of you, but he tried to distance himself from it. He couldn't grow attached. He knew he'd have to give you away the moment he had a chance to save you from this life. However, he couldn't fight his own programming, not when you sought him for comfort, for guidance, for care. Not when you relied on him, needed him. And so, when the opportunity had presented itself to give you away...he couldn't.
"Dell! I talked to the admin and I think I'm getting closer to getting a yes! I might be able to find an orphanage to give them to-"
"An orphanage? Ah don't know Paulin, that don't sound rahght. Never heard nothin good come from those places. Look, Ah appreciate the effort, but at this point we best leave the admin alone. Ah don't need her upset with me."
"...oh...are you sure? This could be your only chance-"
"Ah'm sure"
From that point on you become his child and by god does he treat you as such. He came from a cold home, one mostly of neglect; a machine of genius makers. So he knew that if he was going to drag you into this that he'd at least have to be the best father he could. And with that came a need to keep you safe and keep you as his own. Despite his growing overprotective nature, he made sure to keep it hidden well. To everyone else, he was just a good dad there for his kid. Behind closed doors though, he felt growing violence in his mind.
"Well now sweetpea, what's on your mahnd?"
"...Scout was being mean to me"
"Well that ain't no good. What he say?"
"He said you're not my real dad. Th-That you didn't want me! He's such a liar! A-And so- so mean!"
"Oh...did he now..."
He always has tabs on you. Cameras are set watching your every move and god forbid you somehow leave their sights. He knows it isn't healthy to need to know where you are always, but whenever he doesn't know he gets extremely paranoid and skittish as he thinks about every terrible possibility of what could happen to you. It's only soothed when he's able to stare through a camera and see you.
Crash- Bang!
"Ow..."
"Oh Mary mother in heaven Y/n. *sigh*...guess Ah gotta go help..."
If he can't see you though?
Oh no oh god oh shit.
Everything's going wrong. He's immediately on the search for you. He looks in every crevice and crack and he won't stop until he finds you. Despite his full-blown panic on the inside, his face holds a stone-cold expression. It was a skill he learned young and you can be sure that it hides his only further growing obsession towards you. When he finds you he's not fully relieved of this panic, in fact depending on your state it can get worse. If you're perfectly unharmed he's able to breathe again and he'll quickly pick you up, carrying you away so that he can be with you for the rest of the day. If you're even remotely hurt though? His stone face stays as he picks you up, immediately taking you to Medic. Self-hating thoughts and repeated words of failure are all that run through his mind all while he's speaking comforting words.
"Ow! I-It hurts!"
"Ah know sweetheart, Ah know. We're gonna get ya ta Medic alrahght? Everythins okay"
He will not make this same mistake twice. Whether you're fine or harmed, he will be putting hidden cameras in anything and everything you own.
"Aaaaaand that should do it. Hm...hey it works! Bout damn tahme!...Y/n!"
"Yeah?"
"C'mere. Got ya somethin"
"What is it- TEDDY BEAR!"
"Yep. Just for you!"
"Thank you thank you thank you!"
Despite his upbringing- well, more so in spite of it, he is an amazing father. He's kind, encouraging, and thoughtful. He gives you great advice and is always your shoulder to lean on. He's very good with talking through things and is always around and ready to talk to you. He'll drop whatever project he's working on just to be with you, which is something most other people can't say.
"...Dad?"
"Hm-?...oh sweetheart-"
"I-I...I broke your present- I didn't mean too! It w-was an accident and-"
"Hey hey, calm down. S'alright. Take a seat, just let me clean mah hands off and we'll see what's the problem"
Engie is absolutely in love with every small moment the two of you have together, be that homemade hot cocoa during a cold night or having him indulge in your hobbies. However, the activity that trumps all is when he teaches you guitar. He'd play it for you when you were little and his heart would nearly explode if you ever asked for lessons. It seems like such an insignificant activity for you two to share, but he loves seeing you get better. It makes him so proud to see you rock a guitar and you can bet that every time you do he's going to loudly claim you as his kid.
"And this *strum* is C major. Here, you try"
"Uh, okay!"
He has about a thousand nicknames for you. Honeybee, sunflower, sweetpea, buttercup, little lamb, the list goes on.
"Daaaad. Can you stop with all the nicknames?"
"Oh now why would Ah ever do that mah honey bee sunflower, little sugary sweet-"
"Dad!"
All your schooling is under him. He just finds it easier, especially since it allows for more bonding time along with a quicker education so that he can get into the more complicated stuff easier. He tries not to center your education around his own skills though and allows many different things to learn. Once you're near your teen years he gives you more of a hand in what you learn and helps you explore what you might want to do. If you, however, want to head into the engineering field he gets very visibly excited. He tries to hide it since he doesn't want to pressure you into anything but it's not hidden very well.
"How you holdin up on that project sweetpea?"
"Fine. Almost finished actually"
"Good. Cause we're startin a new subject when you're done"
"Really? No break?"
"Course ya get one! You're a bit behahnd though-"
"Behind?!?!"
For the most part, Engie doesn't mind you being around other people. As long as they aren't going to get you into trouble he can't get you out of and care about your safety then he doesn't mind. However, if he finds you with someone he doesn't trust or if someone heavens forbid hurts you? Well, Engie can get very scary very quickly. He's smart, maybe a bit too smart for his own good. He can play along, he can act and he sure as hell can gain people's trust before stabbing them in the back. He has no problem getting rid of those he finds harmful and he's even better at not getting caught. You are the most important person to him and anyone who dares to take you away isn't going to last very long.
"Heard ya hangin out with Danny earlier"
"...I-"
"Don't. Ah get it. Just don't do it again. Last thing ya need is ta mess around with those types'a people. Not healthy"
"Yeah yeah, okay got it-"
"Y/n..."
"...yeah?"
"Ah'm serious"
Engies rules are pretty simple parental procedures. After all, to everyone who hasn't ever pissed him off, he's just your typical amazing dad. All punishments fit your crimes and he's always calm about it, no matter how many rules you might break. Getting him to be angry with you is a hard- well more so near impossible task. However there is one rule he makes very clear that you shouldn't break, and that's sneaking off without telling him.
"Take a seat"
"C'mon dad it's not that serious-"
"You're not gettin outta this one Y/n. Sit"
"...you're that mad?"
"Ah'm very disappointed. So we're gonna sit and we're gonna talk about just what in the hell you were thinking"
He finds you rather quickly (totally not because you have a tracking device on you no sir-) and his first thought is that someone had taken you. He's sputtering worried words and asking you what had happened only for you to say that you had chosen to run away. That you did this on purpose. And oh boy, you knew you fucked up bad the moment you saw the fury take over his features. It'll be the first time he's ever yelled at you and it's honestly terrifying. You can expect to be grounded and if you ran off with anyone else that they'll never see you (or anyone else) ever again. When he does eventually calm there will be a long, agonizing conversation between the two of you where you will be forced to explain yourself. Just the pure mix of disappointment, confusion, and guilt that's on his face will convince you to never do that again.
"What happened?!? Did someone take ya?!? Are you hurt?!? Y/n talk ta me-"
"Stop! Just stop! I'm done with the worry! I'm tired of being babied! I left! I ran! No one else did any-"
"You what"
"...I...I left-"
"JUST WHAT IN THE HELL WERE YOU THINKIN!?!?"
You'll never notice his obsession, even as you grow up. No one will. He's a master of two faces, one seen by others and one only seen by people ten feet under. His more protective and paranoid behaviors will go unnoticed, especially with how perfect of a parent he seems from every other angle. And if anyone were to question it there's no way anyone else would take them seriously.
"You're all idiots! He's a fucking killer! He hides cameras- and have you seen his kid?! What type of kid knows how to build a gun at thirteen?!?!"
"Geeze, someone's rather paranoid. Do you hear yourself? Dell Conager? A stalker, killer and a bad parent? Have you ever actually met him? I don't think he's even capable of getting angry"
Engie will forever and always be your father and you will always love him. He lets you live your life, to explore what the world has to offer, but you always come back. You'd never even consider the possibility of leaving him. Sure you might move out, you might start your own family or simply bask in what life had to offer, but there isn't a week that goes by where you don't visit and there isn't a secret you would keep from him.
"Ya grew up so fast...Ah didn't expect ya ta be leavin so soon"
"Aww dad, I'm not leaving leaving! I'll be like, a street down!"
"Ah know Ah know. Ah'm just not gonna see ya everyday!"
Dell feels so proud of you. Watching you grow up was the blessing he didn't know he needed and seeing you leave is genuinely painful to him. But he'll let you go. He'll let you live. Because you're his kid and he knows you wouldn't ever fail to visit. That no matter what he was always your father and nothing would change that. That said, it's not like you're ever too far.
After all, it only takes a glance at a screen to know that you're safe.
Pyro
No one knows how Pyro managed to get a kid. Not even they know. They just showed up with one and everyone, either too afraid to push against the Pyromaniacs' decisions or not wanting to know how or why they'd come in possession of a child, let them be. The only one who did question it was Engie and even he found it better just to let them keep you.
"Hey uh, Py...what's with the kid?"
"...hy hut hu. Hy hust hud hum! (I don't know. I just found them!)"
They were obsessed the literal second they saw you. Their mind went into a spiral with how utterly adorable you were and they just up and yoinked you. You were theirs now, no one could say otherwise.
"....HUUUUUUT! (...CUUUUTE!)"
Pyro is entirely too obsessed to let anyone else hang out with you at first. They wanted all of your attention all of the time. Eventually they would feel comfortable enough to let Engie around you as well, though they were still around you at all times. You were never allowed a second alone.
"Huk! Hy hud hu huyhuy hur hu! Hu hu huk hut?"
"Yay! Pretty!"
"Huy hu hud huk hut!"
Due to this clinginess when they don't know where you are they become frantic. They'll burn everything in sight until they find you, they'll flip furniture and scream down the halls until they know where you are. However, the moment they see you they lose all other emotions and become extremely giddy. They'll run up to you, pulling you in a tight hug while swinging you around, completely ignoring the trail of destruction behind them. All emotions are quelled when they're with you.
CRASH! SLAM!
"HUR HUR HUY! HURS HUY-"
"Pyro! Pyro!"
"HUY HUBHUY!"
That being said, if you're hurt in absolutely any way their happiness disappears. They'll find the source of whatever harmed you and they'll ax it. Doesn't matter what it is, person or object, they'll destroy it (with love and bubbles) until they're sure it will never hurt you again.
"Ow! Ow ow ow!"
"...huh hut hum (who hurt them)"
"Now Pahro, why don't we calm down buddy. They just went and scraped their knee. Ain't nothin-"
CRASH!
"Pahro! Don't go destroyin the floor! We need that!"
Pyro is good with entertaining kids, that's just a given. They're bubbly with energy to spare, they want nothing more than to have fun. What is surprising though is that they're not just good with the entertainment part. They have bedtimes and nutrition plans. Sure you can have candy, but only after your vegetables. You want to go play? Sure! Just make sure you get your chores done first. They picked up these things from Engie since he treats them like his own kid, so they do the same with you.
"Oh cool! Cupcakes! Can I have one?"
"Hufthr hudhr (After dinner)"
"Oh come on just one-"
"Hu (no)"
Pyro absolutely LOVES when the two of you draw together. Something about sharing the hobby with someone else brings out a sense of pure joy. The two of you do so together so often that you're practically guaranteed to end up making amazing art pieces when you get older. Also, if you were to ever draw them they'd be so incredibly happy. They would literally keep that drawing forever.
"Huchhu huwhin? (Whatcha drawin?)"
"You"
"...HULHY??? hut huy hee! hut huy hee! (REALLY??? Let me see! Let me see!)"
"No! I'm not done yet!"
Would 10000% call you their firefly. Though no one but you and Engie actually know that.
"Hu Huttle huryhuy~ Huy hur hu...hutcha! (Oh little firefly~ Where are you~...gotcha!)"
"Dang it!"
You won't go to any traditional school. Not necessarily because they're against the idea but more so that they just didn't know it was an option. Instead, you'll likely be taught through the team as Pyro sees fit. You will most definitely have near daily sessions with Engie on math and other subjects he has spread throughout his eleven degrees. But some of the others help in their own ways too. Pyro will supervise these study sessions (and possibly scare them into helping teach you...on accident of course)
"I don't deal wiz children-..."
"..."
"...fine..."
Pyro is a bit of an attention hog when it comes to you. They want your eyes on them as often as possible and the only times they let you interact with others is when they have control over the situation. So, when someone tries to steal that attention away, or fire gods forbid steal or harm you, well...
It does not go very well.
If it's just someone earning your attention they'll straight up just bring you somewhere else. Doesn't matter if it's mid-conversation, they'll just yoink you and bring you somewhere else. When you get older though and they can no longer move you places they just annoy or interrupt whatever is happening until you're no longer focused on the other person. They don't care if you're upset as long as no one else is stealing your attention.
"Pyro! Put me down! I was so close to getting Scout to admit that I was better than him-!"
"Hu (no)"
If someone were hurting you though? That's when things get messy. They'll save you immediately, with absolutely no thought of self-preservation, before killing whoever hurt you. Burn them alive, ax them or simply tear them to shreds with their bare hands. It doesn't matter. Absolutely nobody touches their little firefly.
"Woah woah hey dere bud! We- We can talk about dis! I didn't mean-"
FWOOSH!
"AUUUUGGGGG"
Just the same as their normal rules they also have normal punishments. Time outs and more chores are their go-to and though they don't explicitly say you're not allowed to be around other people they really don't like it. They don't ever tell you not to do it, but the other's fear when you're around along with Pyros panicked rampages sort of instilled a sense of anxiety when not around Pyro.
"Pyro! Where-"
*distant sounds of breaking furniture*
"...oh no"
Due to the environment you grew up in, you're very unlikely to notice anything strange. I mean, you're on a mercenary base with an overprotective and semi-mute pyromaniac as a parent. To say your sense of normal is different is an understatement. It's unlikely you'd ever question it because to do so would be to question your entire life.
"Huy hueet huttl huyhrhy! Huy hussd huh (My sweet little firefly! I missed you!)"
"I was gone for like, five minutes"
"Huy huw! Hut hus hufhul (I know! It was awful!)"
If however, you noticed the strangeness of your life, or that Pyro's care is a bit overbearing, you would never leave. You know nothing else besides this. It was your normal, you couldn't even begin to imagine a different life, even if you didn't entirely like this one.
"Can I be alone? Just for a little bit?"
"Huy hud hu hunt hu hu hut? (Why would you want to do that?)"
No matter how old you get Pyro will always treat you the same. You were their play buddy after all! Their little firefly! So what you're older? That doesn't mean you two can't play together!
'We'll be best friends forever!'
And that's really all Pyro had ever wanted...
Scout
The only conceivable way I think Scout could end up in possession of a child is if his mother had one last kid and either died during the delivery or not long after. And considering Spy lives in the same base as Scout it was elected that Scout would take you, though everyone else was aware that the kid was only under his care because Spy is the dad. But, not knowing Spy is the dad, Scout raises you mostly on his own.
"Look I don't dink dat's really a good idea I...I just learned my ma was dead two days ago, I can't-"
"Ma said she wanted 'em with you. Something about you finally being able to be a big brother."
"Oh...den...den I guess I gotta"
Now it isn't debatable how much Scout cared for his mom. She was probably one of is not the most important people in his life. So seeing as you're the last remnant of her, Scout is immediately obsessed with you. The moment he hears the news he's devastated and with his swirling emotions he takes them all out by taking care of you. You're like a distraction from the reality of his grief.
"Well uh, hey dere little...baby...I guess I'm gonna be taken care'a you huh?"
"..."
"...ya know ya look a lot like ma. Got her eyes anyway..."
Despite his care Scout is still ultimately very immature. So he loses you...a lot...it isn't very uncommon to see him running around panicking about having lost track of you. Most times it's because Spy scooped you away for a moment though Spy won't ever admit that and will say that he found you rather than took you. Even as you grow older Spy makes you keep it a secret so Scout is just constantly being annoyed by Spys antics.
"Y/n! C'mon man dis isn't funny! You win okay! Just come out-"
"Well well, off to find ze lost child again I see"
"Oh screw you! is aint none'a your problem!"
"..."
"..."
"He's gone. You can come out now"
"Thanks Mr. Spy"
"But of course"
Being practically still a child himself he's pretty good at understanding kids and can help with the small things most adults won't give you two extra seconds for. He's good at getting you out of bad moods and is better at reading when something isn't quite right. But he's not very good with actually taking care of you. Don't get me wrong, he tries. He might even learn a few things along the way but, in your younger years, you can find most of your non-emotional needs being met by anyone other than Scout.
"Mon dieu, when is ze last time you gave zem a baz"
"...uh..."
"...Scout-"
"It's not as easy as it looks! Just watch! Y/n!"
"Huh?"
"It's bath ti-"
"NOOOOOOOO"
The moment you're old enough to run around and talk in full sentences he immediately starts teaching you about baseball. The game sort of takes the role of what better parents might call 'talking through things'. You two play in a way that's more about letting out emotions and coming to an understanding. Any time something goes wrong and one of you doesn't want to talk about it you'll just go play baseball until either the emotions are out or the two of you start talking.
"Don't wanna talk about it do ya?"
"..."
"...wanna head out for a game then?"
"...fine"
Would mostly refer to you by baseball terms like "runner" or "fast ball" since he strives to get you running at speeds at least a little close to his. However, he also likes to tease you a lot, so 'pipsqueek' isn't uncommon either.
"Alright runner, let's see whatcha got! Ready...set...go!"
Scout is hesitant to let you go to any type of school. He's never really had any good memories with education and mostly doesn't want you away from him. But Spy eventually manages to convince (or force) him to let you go. In doing so Spy will have to settle for letting you go to a public school rather than a prestigious private school.
"Fine! But dey ain't goin to any of dose preppy schools! I hate da types a kids dere"
"Scout, you and I boz know zat zey deserve a proper education-"
"Nope! Nadda! Uh-uh, ain't happenin! If dey’re goin to a school den it's gonna be what one I choose!"
When it comes to protecting you Scout is more of an isolationist. He likes spending time with you and will actively try to keep you away from others. He won't let friends over, though everyone else agrees considering you live in a military base. But he'll also keep you away from the others on the team, Spy especially. If anyone pushes back against it he only gets more suspicious of them. This will inevitably rub off on you and you will be extremely distrusting of other people due to this.
"Bonsoir Y/n"
"Oh! Hi Mr. Spy! You need something?"
"Yes actually. Why is Scout hiding you here?"
"He says it's so he can keep track of me"
"Mm-hm, right, of course. I'm assuming you want to leave?"
"Yeah, kinda. It's boring in here"
"Well zen, go ahead"
"Yay! Thanks Mr. Spy!"
Surprisingly Scout has a lot of rules. Most are just about staying away from others and restrictions on the types of friends you can have. Others have to do with hanging out with him. He has rules against you being alone for too long (more so leaving him alone for too long) so you will never have more than an hour without him. He also gets antsy when you talk to others and has outright told you to stay away from them on multiple occasions.
"Hey kiddo! Been a while since Ah've seen ya 'round. How ya been?"
"...uh...um-"
"Y/n! Get over here! I got somethin ta show ya!"
"Coming!"
Enforcing these rules is where Scout lacks. He gets really confused and frustrated when you don't listen to him so he doesn't really know how to get you to listen or how exactly to punish you. They range from extreme punishments, such as taking away food or locking you in your room for days, to extremely light punishments by simply telling you never to do that again. These wildly swinging changes grow a sense of fear in you considering the punishment for certain offenses are always changing. So you learn to not break any rules, no matter how small.
"Um...Mr uh, Mr. Engie? Could you uh...could you grab that for me?"
"Huh? Oh! Sure thing! Here"
"Thank you-"
"Y/n!"
"uh oh"
Spy most definitely sees this problem and often tries to step in and help talk his son down or help you when he goes overboard. If Scout ever notices this happen he'll get extremely paranoid of Spy and won't let him anywhere near you. Not that Spy ever actually allows this to happen though.
"Hey! Just what do you dink you're doing ya shapeshiftin rat!"
"Letting ze child out. Zere is no reason to have kept zem locked up zis long-"
"You tellin me what ta do? With my own family? Look, you ain't got no right actin betta dan me. You probably got loads'a knocked up chicks askin for child support, you don't get ta go around tellin me how ta parent!"
If, however, Spy or any others on the team were to push too hard against Scout's rules he would straight up leave. He'd take you with him and just go. And, despite his horrible record with hiding and keeping quiet, he'd try to do just that. He'd likely be found very quickly by Spy but, considering Spy has to keep his care hidden, he'll likely just keep track of the two of you and keep you both hidden from the Admin, since she would most definitely have Pauling hunting the two of you down.
"C'mon Y/n, we're leavin"
"Huh?"
"Get on da scooter, we don't need dis place, we'll find somewhere betta"
Noticing Scout's behavior while growing up will likely never happen. He practically makes you dependent on him for every decision in your life so you won't really have a chance to notice it. That is if Spy never truly steps in. If Spy was a constant throughout your life then you might be a little more aware of what Scout is doing though still ignorant of the true severity.
"Jer, what's this?"
"Woah! Hold on dere runner, dat ain't nothin ta mess with. Here, hand it over"
"Okay...but why do you have it?"
"Don't worry 'bout it, it's just ta keep us safe"
You will have undying care for your brother. He's the source of 99% of all your joys throughout life and while that did come with the bad you often overlooked that for the good he gave you.
"Can we go to the fair tomorrow? I haven't been to one and it looks so cool!"
"Course pipsqueek! Wouldn't miss a chance ta beat ya in every game imaginable"
"As if!"
That being said, if you ever tried to leave him, your opinion might change. And so would your life status because he is entirely unstable and fully unable to process abandonment for the hundredth time. It'll be a quick but brutal death at the hands of your own brother, likely inflicted through rageful bat swinging or pistol shots. He will feel immediate and immense grief afterward and will likely be unable to live with himself. He only ever wanted to keep you safe. In the end he was the thing that hurt you, killed you.
"Traiter! You- You traiter! How dare you leave me!?! ME! I took care'a you! I raised you! You ungrateful, stupid, worthless ch-..."
'...what have I done"
He was the danger he should have protected you from.

i. the introduction of blue and green.
Through the haze of addictive bloodlust, your hands reach out to mend the scrapes and bruises that litter his body like splattered paint on a torn canvas. Soft and gentle, it’s a contrast to the calluses that have amounted on his palms from years of handling weapons and giving his all in countless fights. In the background, a few meters away, a fallen Ruin Guard lies in a heap of various parts. That very thing had pursued you through these labyrinthine ruins with the vicious intent to kill. You’re grateful to the man who kneels before you like a prince accepting a crown, and so you choose to repay him in the only way you know how: with the soothing touch of your healing abilities.
Your hands calmly work their magic, fingers pressing into stiff muscles to release the tension and cast away any imperfections. His eyes are on you while you do this and he grins when your gaze shifts to find his.
“That should be about it,” you say, withdrawing your hands from his shoulders. “Unless there’s an area I missed.”
Without missing a beat, he tilts his head and replies, “Actually, you did.”
His teasing smirk tells you he’s up to no good, but you humor him anyways. “Oh? And where would that be?”
“Right here, sweetheart.” And his finger taps at his cheek. “Surely your savior deserves a little remuneration for his hard work.”
A kind smile makes its way onto your face when he stares at you expectantly. You hold up your hand to display the sparkling ring that hugs your finger. “I’m afraid I can’t do that, sir. I’m engaged.”
He spies the ring for a short moment, his playfulness melting into quiet neutrality. “Your spouse must be a lucky person.” Straightening himself, he takes another look around at the dusty ruins, hands on his hips. “Well, I hope I can trust that you won’t get into anymore trouble. But if you’d prefer seeing this face I won’t stop you from finding danger.”
You shake your head, withholding a giggle, and the Pyro Vision around your neck rattles with the movement. He’s drawn to it at once, curiously observing the weathered material with a raised brow. There’s an odd glint in his blue eyes when he comes to an internal conclusion, but it dulls before you can ask any prying questions. From the looks of it, something has clicked within his mind—or perhaps you’re simply reading too much into his gestures. Upon realizing this, you take a step back in case he were to lash out.
When you analyze him from this distance, you can easily pick out the mask that sits in his hair and the clothes that fit his body nicely. Simply put, he is a member of the Fatui and you wonder just how powerful he could be to defeat a Ruin Guard in one fell swoop. At the implication of such monstrous strength, a wave of envy washes over you. Even with your Vision, you surmise you wouldn’t be nearly as strong as he is, which is a stab in your confidence. The difference between the both of you is clear as day: he can handle a Ruin Guard, whereas you cannot.
Before you can wrap yourself in these web-like thoughts, you bring yourself back to reality, already sensing the end of this stagnant conversation. With the polite flair of an aristocrat, you bid him farewell.
“You can just call me Childe!” he calls after you. “There’s no need for ‘sir.’”
Without turning around, you add, “Very well then, Sir Childe.”
He releases an amused breath at such a blatant jab and watches as you depart, your figure shrinking against the backdrop of the pastel sky.
And thus the first few threads overlap wildly, stringing together patterns that spell out impending doom.
ii. the crossroads at which fraying strings intercept.
Like a shoddy cat’s cradle, you’ve found yourself in quite the tangle. The strings of fate interweave in an undesirable pattern, showing an event that has not yet graced you with its presence. Somehow you’ve caught the eye of that strange Fatui and while you’re certain it’s a direct result of your incompetence when it comes to settling debt something is still amiss. Whether it’s your failure to repay countless loans or he’s simply bored with nothing to do, there is one consistent thing that manages to keep you patiently waiting for another dreadfully inevitable meeting.
He’ll always find you even when you wish to remain undiscovered.
Childe, as he prefers to be called, lives up to his alias. Playful and teasing, he’s caught you on the streets of Liyue Harbor more than once, easily falling into step beside you as he ponders the weather or where you’re currently heading. You’ll deny him the pleasantries, getting straight to the point whenever he tries to wring a conversation out of you. You’ve told him plenty of times before that the two of you are not friends. He helped you once and you repaid his favor in full; therefore your relationship should not bear any fruit. And even when it does it falls from the tree at once, spattering in rotten disarray.
Even now, as he grins at you with that bothersome hint of mischief in his gaze, your Pyro Vision is begging to incinerate him where he stands. As your luck would have it, you are currently in the middle of the marketplace and such a crime cannot be committed for the public eye to see. Instead you stand there with the elegance of a porcelain statue, an empty basket gripped tightly in your hands. The familiar sensation of the woven basket grounds you even when he places his hand upon your shoulder, searching for a reaction you refuse to give.
“Never pinned you as the sweet type,” he says, applying just a little pressure.
“And I never pinned you as the stalker type.” Your smile is thin—hardly filled with the same amusement that’s twinkling in those subdued eyes of his—and it takes all of your restraint to remain poised.
“Hah. You’ve got me there, sweetheart. Guilty as charged.” Withdrawing his hand, he glances sidelong at the fruit stall you were trying to peruse moments ago. He has the gall to pick up an apple as if the two of you are on a mere shopping date—as if your errands hold no significance other than pure entertainment for this bothersome individual. “Before you sign my death certificate and give me a free cremation, walk with me.”
Not a suggestion. A demand veiled within the softness in his tone.
“Sir Childe,” you murmur, plucking the apple from his hands just as he flicks a shiny coin at the stall’s owner, “I’ve got things that need tending to and you are not included in my afternoon plans. So I would appreciate it if you could leave me alone for the time being.”
“Oh?” His stare is sharp and predatory as it cuts through you, observing the way you sink your teeth into the apple—more so to spite him than to quell your hunger. His chuckle irritates you, but you hide your displeasure behind a sturdy façade. “I’m offended you won’t even spare me a fraction of your time.”
“A minute spent with you feels like an eternity of suffering in Diyu.”
“Ouch. That’s a little cold, wouldn’t you agree? Surely there’s some warmth in there. You do possess a Pyro Vision, after all.”
“Hilarious.” You fix him with a disappointed frown, already kicking yourself for your next action. “Very well. I’ll walk with you if it manages to get you off of my back for the rest of the day.”
“Great! I knew you’d come around.”
It doesn’t feel like a proper choice, but you don’t have time to mull it over as he redirects your path. Sighing, you focus on the half-eaten apple in your hand while he talks about the upcoming Rite of Descension. From the sound of it, he seems curious about the entire tradition, going so far as to compliment Liyue and its unique flair for events.
“I’m excited, too,” you mutter, but it’s almost sinful that your opinions match. “There’s a lot of preparation to be done. I’m sure everyone’s working hard.”
“That’s to be expected. It is a big event, you know.” His intonation changes on that last sentence, but you overlook it in your objective to ignore it. “That reminds me. I never got your name.”
“It’s Mei.”
“Is that so? That’s a lovely name.”
“Please stop with the flattery,” you say in the sweetest voice you can muster. “You do realize compliments will get you nowhere with me.”
“It was worth a try.”
“If you’d be willing to sate my curiosity, could you tell me why you wanted to take this walk? It couldn’t have been for sightseeing.”
Childe inclines his head towards the sky, eyeing the fluffy clouds that move to block out the sun. And then his gaze settles on you again and his eyes are filled with a new emotion: hope. It’s weird to see such a feeling on his face and you take a step away from him as a result.
“I was wondering, dear Mei, if you could possibly accompany me for dinner. One evening. Just the two of us. I promise I’ll leave you alone after this. As you may already know, my job can get quite busy.” He taps his mask when he says that, his eyes darkening as the sun finally cowers behind the clouds. “How about it?”
“One dinner...” It sounds so tempting and that’s why you shake your head. Too good to be true, which is a saying you’ve heard many times, and Childe fits it perfectly. “I’m sorry, but I’m also very busy because of the Rite. I don’t think I can make time for you.”
“But you did now.”
“I suppose so, but I can’t wedge you into my schedule whenever you want.”
“I’ll be paying.”
Your breath hitches. “You... Hold on.”
You’re eyeing the basket with uncertainty, firmly against the idea of a dinner date with Childe. But he’s going to pay; you won’t have to waste any of your minimal savings for the sake of seeming respectful. It’s practically a free meal and if he’s going through all of the trouble to invite you... What’s stopping you from accepting and ordering half of the menu in the gluttonous pursuit of running his funds dry?
“Okay. Fine.” Those words burn your tongue when you speak them, having surrendered to him once again. “One meal. After that, you’ll stop stalking me and I’ll move on with my life.”
“Of course. It’s the least I can do for my favorite healer. As a parting gift, why not—“
You’re already grabbing his arm to soothe whatever ache has befallen it. You surmise it’s better to comply rather than object. Until that dinner ends, you should act wise when you’re with him. Childe doesn’t complain as you heal his surface injuries, but he does tense up as your hand moves to cure the other invisible areas on his chest and shoulders.
Eventually you pull away, satisfied. “Perhaps I should start charging you.”
He chuckles humorlessly, spying the engagement ring that kisses your finger. “We’ll see about that, sweetheart.”
No matter how annoying he can be, you’re relieved he’s finally going to put an end to this strange relationship you’ve cultivated over the course of two weeks. And all you have to do is suffer through one dinner. A free dinner, might you add.
Still, there is an underlying regret that bites at your intuition. Like a candle that burns precariously, you snuff it before it can erupt in a full-fledged conflagration.
iii. the twisted pattern of a cat’s cradle, now mired in cyan misfortune.
Time passes, as does the Rite of Descension, and you’re left with no sign of Childe. It makes you wonder if he up and died, having grown so overworked with his Fatui job that it killed him. You suppose that would be an ideal finale to this situation, but there’s still an uncomfortable stagnation in the air. It’s not surprising, especially since the events from a week ago have had such a massive impact on Liyue. The harbor has become somber and tense with the untimely passing of Rex Lapis and the locals have grown restless with suspicion. Everyone’s wondering who could possibly be responsible for such a heinous crime.
In the back of your head, you think about Childe and the strength he displayed when he beat down that Ruin Guard. Could he be powerful enough to bring death to your nation’s Archon? It’s a disturbing thought that should leave you with a fresh bout of terror and yet you consider it with the same amount of neutrality you’ve been feeling since Rex Lapis’s corpse fell out of the sky.
It’s a tragedy, of course, but your emotions are misplaced. There are lots of reasons to mourn your Archon’s death. Those who fear for the future of Liyue and its economic prosperity will grasp onto the idea that their Archon remains with them internally. As if he’s locked up within their hearts like a poor canary. But Rex Lapis’s passing also brings about hope for a new era—one that might show vast improvement in comparison to the past. You doubt such a grand change will happen within a few years, but it does feel nice to dissolve into a state of wishful thinking.
You’re tapping at the intricate ring on your finger, holding it up against the late afternoon sun. It winks as the light refracts within the polished crystal. Briefly, you ponder its monetary value. You’re certain that you could get a decent amount for it, but it still wouldn’t be nearly enough to settle your debt with the bank. Your mood sours when you think about it, the mere implication of debt clinging onto your figure like strands of ivy.
You release a wistful sigh as you move away from the wall, fully intent on taking the route home. Childe didn’t show his face today either. Perhaps he truly has died. That idea sticks with you as you pass the various stalls littering either side of the cobbled walkway. You maneuver around a group of teenagers, all of whom talk amongst themselves eagerly. And just when you’re on your way up the steps, you sense the uncanny presence of Childe.
Maybe it’s his stare that you feel—something so sharp it pries deep into your very soul to search for the flaws you’ve buried. Or perhaps it’s the way he’s already behind you, ready to tap your shoulder or grab your wrist to catch you off guard. At once, you whirl on the stairs, covering your Pyro Vision with your hand. Unfortunately, he’s standing on the step below you, very much alive and well with an odd expression.
It’s impossible to decipher the emotions—or lack thereof—on his face.
“Sir Childe.”
“Mei.”
“It’s a pleasure to see you. If I’m being honest, I thought you died.”
A smirk breaks through the plaster of his mask. “And leave you after I invited you to dinner? Unimaginable.”
Rolling your eyes, you fold your arms across your chest. “Let’s get on with it then. I assume you’ve already chosen the restaurant?”
“Of course.”
There are lots of thoughts going through your mind as you follow him, but one remains the loudest. He’s too quiet—too tame for your liking. Although you can’t truly determine the legitimacy of your observations because you don’t know Childe as well as one might think. On the surface, he seems valiant enough: an attractive gentleman with a youthful face. But under all of that charm and sparkle lies dark secrets, unsavory relationships, and an unsatisfied thirst for something dangerous.
This is all purely speculation, but it is interesting to imagine all sorts of tales about Childe’s hidden dark side—if such a thing even exists within him. And the more you spin such gruesome tales, the more tangled your cat’s cradle becomes. Strings overlap in the pursuit of purification, mixing colors according to the color wheel and dyeing every new strand in beautiful hues. If one were to attempt to untangle the mass of yarn that connects you and Childe, they would fail within the first few minutes.
Even a bond as crooked as this one can bloom, entrapping one in its messy cat’s cradle.
The restaurant is definitely expensive. You can tell from the people who are sat within it, dining so primly in their luxurious attire. The interior design is minimalistic, yet striking to an opulent degree. You’re so wrapped up in admiring everything that you fail to comprehend Childe as he pilots you in the direction of your table, guided onwards by the hostess. She sets two decorative menus on the neatly set table before making herself scarce.
And thus begins your dinner with Childe.
You’re sat across from him, the both of you making eye contact before opening up your own menus and taking a few moments to read over the contents. Every dish has you salivating; if you could try everything you would. If there’s one thing pleasant about this predicament, it’s that he’s got the money for frivolous spending. While you read over each item and its price, tallying up an imaginary total, Childe sets his menu down. His hands are steepled as he stares at you, picking out your intense contemplation.
“I do love dinners like these,” he says and you raise your brow, the only indication that he should elaborate. “You can learn so much about a person just from spending an hour or two at a restaurant with them. From their food preferences to the type of drink they’re fond of, there are all sorts of things for you to discover.”
“I see.” Your eyes skim a particular seafood dish and you wonder if you’d be able to finish the entire thing. “Interesting...”
“Everything comes to light during a nice dinner. Table etiquette, drunk gossip, and even dirty secrets.” When you don’t look up from your menu, Childe chuckles. “I noticed you were waiting for me at our usual spot.”
“I wasn’t,” you snap, flustered. “And it’s not ‘our spot.’ Don’t call it that.”
“You really are too cold.” Feigning hurt, his lips tug into a childish pout. “And here I am, treating you to such a lavish meal.”
“I’m thankful, if that’s what you were hoping to hear.”
“Hm. Perhaps.” He leans back in his chair when you finally fold the menu, setting it down on the table. He’s looking at your engagement ring for what feels like the nth time since you first met. “About that ring—you mentioned you were engaged. How long?”
“About a year and a half, I’d say. Why?”
“Just curious. You seem rather young to be married.”
“You’re awfully inquisitive tonight, aren’t you?”
“Isn’t it natural to ask questions when you’re on a date?” Your hesitation brings light to his azure eyes. “Furthermore, the least you could do is entertain my questions. I won’t pry...unless you want me to. If that’s the case, I’m sure we can arrange something.”
Unamused, you tap at the table, searching for a waiter.
“Was your lover a nice person?”
“Of course.” And then your head snaps in his direction, bewilderment staining your once straight face. “Excuse me? I think I heard you wrong.”
“Oh?”
“You used the wrong tense.”
“The wrong tense?” He blinks back at you, owlish. “Did I?”
“Yes, you did,” you insist, now overcome with an impatience so intense it could tear you in half. You don’t have time for his pointless games. “You said ‘was’ when it should be ‘is.’”
“Ah.” He leans forward in his seat, losing all of his nonchalance. “Hah. I see.”
“I beg your pardon, Sir Childe?”
“You know, Mei, I can’t help but feel curious. You’re an enigma of sorts.” His brow furrows and then he shakes his head. “Well, not exactly. An enigma is meant to perplex you. So what does that make you?”
“I’m not sure. Please enlighten me.”
“An open book.”
“All right...”
“I was wondering what a lady was doing in such a desolate part of Liyue, in those decrepit ruins. It’s not wise to venture into unknown territory by yourself, especially if you aren’t strong enough to fend off enemies.” A knowing grin splits his lips apart, stunning you into frozen silence, and he swipes up the menu to hide such a haunting expression. “And then I started to think about other possibilities.”
Somehow you manage to find your voice. “Other...possibilities?”
“Maybe you’re visiting someone in the countryside or you simply got lost. Maybe you’re an explorer who enjoys living on the edge.” Childe lifts his eyes from the menu. “Maybe you weren’t alone.”
“You...are speaking pure nonsense. What does this have to do with my lover?”
“Of course! The lover. How could I forget? Or rather, why should I forget?”
“Huh?”
“I thought it was very crafty.” His voice lowers ominously. “It would be easy to hurry along the decomposition process when you possess a Dendro Vision.”
“Dendro? Decomposition? S-Sir Childe, are you sure you’re feeling well?”
“Are you feeling well?” The question is turned on you in an instant and you aren’t prepared to hear his next sentence. “After all, you killed a person.”
“That is a very heavy accusation.” Your pupils flit around the restaurant, frantic. “Where’s the waiter? I’d like to order now...”
“Is it?”
You glare at him. “Are you implying that I’m a murderer? You’re disgusting.”
“I’ve heard worse, my dear Mei.” His fingers drum along the menu, spider-like and ravenous. Your heart rate spikes out of control just as a cold sweat engulfs you. “Ah, but that’s not your real name. It’s (Name), isn’t it? You’re in a bit of a bind at the Northland Bank. Something about unpaid debt... That can’t be good.”
You bite your tongue so hard it breaks the thick muscle, bringing with it the metallic tang of blood. “My financial life has nothing to do with you, so please stay out of it.”
“You’re always saying ‘please.’ Did your lover say that to you when you left them for dead? When you took their Vision and watched as they battled that Ruin Guard?” His smile is toothy and far sharper than any blade you’ve come across. The menu finds the surface of the table once more. “I wonder just how hard they begged. You could’ve healed them, too, but that’s not good enough for you. A living spouse is worth nothing when you can’t inherit their funds in order to save yourself from debt. But a dead spouse can give you everything you need in order to avoid those pesky debt collectors.”
“That’s just vile. I would never stoop that low. I’m not a criminal.”
“Are you calling me a liar?”
“Obviously! You have no proof to back up any of your outlandish claims! It’s offensive you’d even think I’d do something so—“
“A person without a Vision doesn’t stand a chance against a Ruin Guard—unless they choose cowardice and run—but someone with a Vision could easily defeat one of those rust buckets. If we’re assuming your lover is a strong fighter, where does that leave you, the weak, little wife who only has her healing abilities and Dendro Vision to keep her safe?”
“That’s not—“
“Was it jealousy? Greed? To be honest, I don’t really care. But the Millelith will and they’ll want to arrest someone. Who do you think they’ll look for when they can’t find any suspects or a clear motive? What will they think when I show them your suspicious deposits? Surely your debt didn’t take care of itself in one night and yet the receipts tell me everything I need to know.”
You’re on the verge of snapping, glowering at your lap as you try to think of a suitable scapegoat. This is insanity in the rawest form: sick, twisted madness that keeps you glued to your seat. You’d make a scene if you could, but your table arrangement is positioned in the center of the room. From all sides, you’re going to lose and it’s a miracle the chatter in the room drowns out your own incriminating conversation. You can’t keep spinning your cat’s cradle anymore; the strings have withered away due to the dreadful truth.
“Like you’re any better,” you mutter bitterly. “You’re Fatui.”
“I suppose that’s something we have in common.” His hand covers yours, hiding the way it trembles like a tree in an unforgiving storm. “Cheer up. I’m not going to throw you to the wolves anytime soon. We’re on a date, after all.”
“How did you know?”
“I did a little exploring after you left and found a certain someone. You really are decorative with that Vision of yours.”
Your memories rush you at once. That sunny afternoon where you took your lover to those ruins—the very place you had been eyeing for months. You’d kept track of every creature and machine that passed through that area, calculating varying levels of difficulty and in the end you chose the Ruin Guard. It wasn’t much of a challenge to get your lover to hand over their Vision. Trust is known to be a double-edged sword and you wield only the finest of blades.
“You sat back and enjoyed the show.” Childe verbalizes your thoughts like a mind reader. “And when your lover was no longer of this world, you took the liberty of hiding them in a lovely grave of overgrown flowers and weeds. I must say, that’s quite impressive. Even I thought you were just a cute healer at first.”
Clenching your teeth, you finally break, tearing down the final pattern of your cat’s cradle. “It wasn’t just for money. I hate marriage, especially if it’s arranged. It’s annoying to be tied down against your will.” You’re toying with the dull Pyro Vision around your neck, a show of meekness. “I might have felt something for them if we fell in love naturally, but that was too much to hope for.”
Childe smiles as he takes all of this in, welcoming knowledge he’s already privy to.
Your voice softens to a barely audible whisper as you confirm the truth. “I let that Ruin Guard kill them. Without a Vision, they didn’t have much fighting spirit and I wasn’t going to heal them. I took their Vision because I hate mine. It’s useless to me. Plants might keep me alive with oxygen, but they aren’t going to give me strength. Even if I can’t wield Pyro, it looks better than this silly Dendro Vision.”
Your true colors are bathed in shades of ugly pessimism—of hatred and lies—and Childe feeds on such delectable negativity.
“What an entertaining turn of events!”
“So what are you going to do? Turn me in after this dinner? String me up because of all these crimes?”
“Would you like that?”
Your frown answers his question. Under all of your manufactured regret, you want to survive and live a new life—one that’s free of debt and arranged marriages. You want nothing more than to live a life full of adventure and peril. You want to be strong enough to take down multiple Ruin Guards. You want to be appreciated within the affluent circles in Liyue.
More than anything, you want a second chance. Yet the man before you holds your fate in his hands as if it’s a dying goldfish, mending those threads with his wickedness.
“You’re lucky you’ve caught me in a good mood,” Childe, after much deliberation, finally says. “Let’s make a deal.”
“A deal with the Fatui? Get lost.”
“If that’s how you truly feel, you wouldn’t mind a visit with the Millelith.”
“Get on with it.”
“That’s my girly.” You cringe at the new pet name and he chooses to overlook your uneasiness. “As for our arrangement... I’ll keep your little secret under lock and key if you do a small favor for me.”
“And that small favor would entail?”
“Fall in love with me.”
Despite the situation, you laugh. “I’ll die before I do that.”
“That’s too bad.” He removes his hand from yours, allowing it to hover over the utensils. An empty threat that means nothing when he has a Hydro Vision. “I was hoping you’d say yes. I wouldn’t want to subject you to a life of imprisonment, but if you wish to be difficult I have no problem spreading your secret.”
“No one will believe you. You’re a Fatui rat.”
“And you’re a rat with zero credibility. They might not believe me, but they’ll believe a dead person. In case you haven’t noticed, darling, corpses can’t lie and cheat. I hold every card the Millelith would need in order to convict you.”
An arrogant scoff escapes your dry throat.
“Rather than falling in love with me, why not be mine instead? Let’s skip all of the romance. I’ll tie up every loose end and you’ll never have to worry about the repercussions that come with your secrets.”
From the kitchen, a waiter finally emerges, his eyes tracking the table you and Childe are sitting at. You spot him from your peripheral.
“So what will it be? You’d better make a decision quickly. Our waiter will be here any moment now.”
Filled to the brim with a foul sickness and desperately twisting cyan threads in an attempt to repair your cat’s cradle, you know it’s not fair. You aren’t given the luxury of a choice. You’re forced to adapt to the aftermath of your downfall. To come to terms with the abomination that is your cat’s cradle.
Childe’s victorious smirk melts into a benevolent smile as he adds, “Might I remind you that you have everything to lose. Choose wisely, darling.”

Ima just say if you ever start taking in commission you best believe Ima be your first customer! Alrigjt hear me out what if S/o like a different merc. A example would be like Yandere sniper likes s/o but s/o likes scout.
Awwww thank chu ❤️ but Oooooo that's gonna cause some HUGE issues with the yanderes 😳
Yan!TF2 Mercs × Reader
// obsessive tendancies, blood, violence
Defense
Demo
Demo sees you flirting with another merc
His jaw is wide open in utter shock
He takes a moment to process it
He realizes that you like him and he's not happy
He grumbles and goes to get drunk to try and forget about it but he can't
The thing is, if they weren't a merc he'd get rid of them easily
However, he works with them, which makes it harder
So instead he finds out what you like and tries to impress you
He also tries to lure you away from him
Heavy
Heavy is not impressed
I mean, how could you like that guy?
Heavy scoffs to himself knowing damn well he's much better than them
Heavy is like Demo, they don't really show it and decide to read to take their mind off of it (but can't)
So heavy figures out what impresses you and gets you those things
Also he tries to block your view from that person using his body so he can have you to himself
Engi
Angry texan mumbling.mp3
He'll go to his shop to build things to forget about it (to no avail)
He then gets the idea to build you things to impress you
He also offers to take you out to dinner
Whenever you're paying attention to the other merc, he'll have his robot make a loud noise just to divert your attention to him
Offense
Scout
Unlike the previous mercs, he lets you know he has a problem
"What's so special about that (insert specific insult used towards them in-game)?"
He then pulls you away and continues to talk shit about him
He then brings you to KFC or something to get a bucket of chicken
Starts flexing his non existent muscles at you
"Why chase after that loser when you have a hunk like me at your side, baby?"
Pyro
Angry pyro mumbling
They'll pull you away like Scout
Pyro will smother you in hugs
You can't fight back because Pyro is too damn strong
Pyro will decorate you in bones and guts, thinking you look pretty in it
If Pyro ever sees the merc, they'll flash their flamethrower at them to scare them
(honestly I think Pyro is aware of how scared they make everyone else)
Soldier
Is THE LOUDEST ONE
"Hah! I bet this maggot can't even bench press 400lbs with two eagles on each weight!" Like shut up you can't either
He will also drag you away, except he threw you over his shoulder
He will be screaming about how bad the other merc is and how amazing he is
On the battlefield, if you're near the merc you like, he'll grab you and rocket jump away with you
Support
Sniper
He turns away immediately after seeing you flirt
He goes to polish his gun, read, nap, anything to make him feel better
But he's tired of it
He first threatens the merc who you were flirting with
"Back off of y/n you lil bugger, if ya know what's good for ya"
If they don't or hell even worse, choose to try and make him jealous, sniper has no qualms against getting rid of them
They'll make it look like they were killed by the enemy sniper or they'll just disappear, with their body found hacked to death in a ditch days later
Either way he'll take your grief over their death to his advantage to get closer to you
"oh I'm sorry y/n, he was a good lad. Why don't you come to my camper so I can cheer ya up, eh?"
Spy
Spy knows he's the shit so he isn't too afraid of you keeping that ceush for long
At first he'll get you gifts and other things of the sorts to impress you
Then he'll threaten the merc you flirted with
"back off, or else"
His threats are vague but they get the point across
He understands how important each team member is but if he needs to get rid of them, he won't hesistate
They will never find the body
He'll manipulate you and use your grief to his advantage like sniper
Medic
He's probably the most deadly one
When medic saw you flirting with another merc, he used all of his energy to conceal his rage
Instead, he pulled you into his clinic, saying that you needed to have a check up
His grip on your arm was painfully tight
He uses the fact that he's a doctor to his advantage, he'll usually pull you away from them to give you check ups and on the battlefield he'll call your name for assistance
The merc better pray that medic emds them quickly, otherwise their death will be slow and painful
Medic doesn't care if he has to kill the entire team for you because this deranged man WILL do it
He'll make it look like an accident or get rid of them entirely, making it to where nobody can find his body... Not in one peice, anyways
By that I mean he'll purposefully botch a surgery to kill them or murder them and store their body parts somewhere
He's just scary as fuck
And a bonus cause I wanted to: Pauling
She doesn't see you a lot but qhen she does, she's always nice to you
However, she got a bit of an attitude after hearing you flirt with another merc
"you do realize that it's against company policy to have a relationship with a co-worker, right?"
She'll dispose of them carefully, either putting them on a mission that will for sure kill them or finding an excuse to kill them herself
She'll be a little more careful if they're someone that's hard to replace like spy or medic but she'll make sure that everything goes smoothly.
When you're greiving, she'll actually feel some guilt for her actions
However she believes what she did was necessary and won't hesitate to do it again
"I'm sorry for what happened y/n... At least you still have me"
She says in a sweet voice with a sinister undertone
Anyways I'm sorry for taking so long and sorry that these are so short, my inspiration was running low lol. I hope you liked these! Feel free to request anything again!❤️

A Path of Confusion
Characters: Yandere!Diluc x Kätzlein!Reader
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Format: Headcanons
Warnings: common and typical yandere things, kidnapping, bear traps, blood and gore, Diluc probably being ooc, Diluc watches the reader sleep, Well he does more than that but yeah. Reader is anti-social to the max and not knowledgeable on a lot of civilization, Spoilers for Dilucs' questline???
Synopsis: Diluc meets a very odd Kätzlein late at night and immediately interest is sparked.
Word count: 879 words
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It wasn't odd for Diluc to be walking home late at night after a long shift at Angels' Share, it was actually rather common for him to be out at night… even if it was for drastically different reasons than what it was right now.
It was rather peaceful and quiet this time, everything seemed like a fantasy or a dream, that was until a single noise disturbed everything, it sounded like it was a cat that got hurt, but also a few "ow"s to tell that it was also human…?
He decided to take a look into the strange happenings and well, he was rather shocked by what he saw.
Before him was a Kätzlein, with their leg stuck in a bear trap, there was a fair bit of blood where the wound had been made.
How bothersome… was all he could really think when he came upon the scene, he was still rather busy but a person in danger was a person in danger.
Though it had taken a lot of convincing the Kätzlein to come with him to the winery to be taken care of until fully healed.
During that convincing stage, Diluc had learned that their name was (y/n) and that they were a nomad, this had interested him as well as just genuinely not understanding why they were so hesitant with accepting his offer. Most would love to see the winery and yet… they didn't really want to be there, what was going on here…
"This is my head maid of the estate."
"I-isn't that a human…?"
That was a rather odd question for someone to ask, were they really that clueless?
Whatever, he doesn't need to be around them for long anyway, better to not think too hard about it.
Although that was gonna be harder the more he was left to his own questions, (y/n) was rather shy and closed in with their personality, did they not speak to people, did they stay away from them?
Their actions were what drew him in at first, left him with questions he needed answers for.
When they were healed up and left Diluc would often leave during free moments to see if they were nearby, or if he could catch them, yet that wasn't the case no matter how hard he tried.
well… until the two bumped into each other again while he was doing his darknight hero stuff for the time being. it was just getting to be sunset and flashes of hydro and cryo flashed everywhere, followed by the movements of anemo and a… claymore?
Diluc was left even more interested, he had to check the scene out by now, he had been looking for this person for a while now, it was only fair he learned more once he did find them after all.
though fighting was not (y/n)s' favourite thing it was better if they were able to defend themselves, which they were doing, cuts and bruises littered themselves as they stood their ground, knowing their enemy could teleport and close their exits.
flashes of pyro flashed in front of them as the abyss mages were soon left to disappear in a flash, a familiar person standing in their place.
(y/n) took a few steps back but the look of the supposed stranger kept them standing… Neither of them said a word to the other.
Diluc memorized this spot and left to do other things, keeping a mental note to come back here and see if they were still here.
The next day he found them sleeping, it was afternoon, how could they be slee- oh wait, they're more active at night… maybe this is why they don't see people much or know so much, they were sleeping when more people were out and about.
well… fixing their sleep schedule would be better for them in the long run so…
he woke them up.
they talked a bit, and then it was the same thing the next day, and the next, and the ne-
you get my point.
(y/n) had accidentally hooked one of the most sought-after people in all of Mondstadt, the only person who was enjoyable to converse with.
They aren't tainted with greed or clouded with lust like the other citizens… if they start talking to others then… no, I can't let them get tainted with such knowledge, it's too dangerous. Or the Abyss order, or the Fatui!? They're all out there, and could easily hurt them! He thinks to himself as he stares at the paperwork he had yet finished, sprawled out all across the table as all he could think about was…
them…
That was the last strand gone… he snapped, and nothing was going to keep him from the one thing he didn't want to lose.
Diluc held the Kätzlein in his arms as he gently rocked them in his embrace, daring not to wake them up just yet as the (h/c)-haired person looked so content in this state. "Don't worry (y/n)…" he mumbles as he gently lays them down so their head rests on the pillows.
"You'll soon realize that I'm the only person you can trust."... Diluc mumbles under his breath before getting up and exiting the room.
Playing the Long Game (Spy x Reader)
3k words
YOU RECEIVE A GIFT TODAY, PEASANTS. IT TWAS COMMISSIONED BY A LOVELY PERSON.
Tw: Yandere Themes, Knife Play, Bondage, Gags, Torture mention, Smut
Living in the clutches of Spy never really tested you, since you only took opportunities when they presented themselves. Escape never became an option, really. It wasn't so bad, playing the role of a captive, since you had been in the profession yourself. As a spy, not a captive, though you had spent a fair amount of time playing that as well.
He knew you only would escape if he gave you the chance, if he were to be weak. That was why he never was very sympathetic with you. Underestimating someone he respected would be a fatal mistake, especially how long you patiently wait for any way to strike him. To say things were tense would be incorrect, though the nuances of your interactions were often missed. Really, you two could have been dancers with the social routines you have when with one enough.
You never hated each other. Something else was there, but neither of you really understood it. Maybe it was love? You think it was being in the same boat as people.
You could remember first meeting him, opposing one another. In disguise, you looked at him and slowly worked through that defense. He knew though as soon as he saw you. You could say it was the preposterous love at first sight. He was prepared to kill you right there and then, but you kneed him in the groin before hopping out of a window. You weren't weak, but you could admit to the way your heart stopped at he looked into your eyes. It was… Intimidating.
You would meet again though, and again, and again. Sometimes him in disguise, you would catch him and attempt to kill him. Sometimes reverse. You were well acquainted when you both wound up bound back to back in the containment container of a third party. He worked with those mercs and you were an independent party, but you had very similar enemies.
You blinked as you shifted slightly, peering through your eyelashes around the room.
"Ah, you're awake then? It is just us, don't worry." His voice was bored as you both were stuck with nothing much to do.
"Hm, oh, it's you. Been a while, Spy… Should have known I would get stuck with you of all the mercs." You laughed in a rough way, your throat was hurting a bit as you leaned back against him.
"Were you hoping for someone else?" The man behind you said while you moved your unbound feet about. You moved your foot up to rest on your knees and leaned down. Amateurs didn't even check your shoes, underestimating you was stupid.
"No, I just found that I should buy a scratch off today, because I am quite lucky. Anyways. Would you like to get out of here, mon ami?" You mimicked his accent with a sly smile as you knew he was grinning behind you. It was a mutual sense of humor.
"If you have a plan, then that would be much appreciated." He moved his hands as far as he could apart with the restraints.
It was a small wire cutters you pull from your shoe with your teeth. Turning your head, you drop it into your hand and cut the cords that hold you both together. Only a couple of snips and voila! You were free as you both got up, beginning to figure the rest of the "plan" out.
The rest was history, a story of bonding as you both sneak your way out of a shipping container and through the yard without alerting anyone. Why work together? The enemy of my enemy is my friend and right now. You both were feeling chummy as all get out. It was delightful to talk with someone similar to you, plus he paid for dinner when you both were safely away. Surprisingly, he was good for a smoke too. Well, it wasn't a surprise. You were just happy he didn't give you a cyanide cigarette as you looked up at the beautiful, starry sky.
Parting ways, you hadn't failed in seeing him fight over whether or not to give you a particularly lovely flower from a vendor. You laughed under breath, but you told him you were flattered and that you would be off now.
"Try not to be so obvious next time, heartbreaker." You smirked before absconding into the nightlife, vanishing from him. The way you said that made his heart thud within his chest as under his mask… A blush formed, a feeling he hadn't felt for a while. It was an unfathomable feeling, like as if he was some boy in a schoolyard looking at a girl who just beat him in his best game.
It took awhile for you to run into one another again. When you did though? Sparks of a whole different kind flew when you had to fight off Pyro with nothing but a squirt gun filled with balsamic vinegar and a large tarp. It was easier than you would expect. Leaving dead in your wake as you had just scurried through their base. Spy was there, a flower in hand as he approached you and in a moment of surprise. A syringe was in your neck and you were out, only to hear the faint, "Merci beaucoup, Medic."
You woke up where you still find yourself, a rather lavish apartment in what you suspect has to be Europe. Never were you sure. You never asked anyways, since there was nothing for miles with how long it took Spy to go get groceries. He could be trying to fake you out though. You feel constantly paranoid.
The windows you couldn't break, not that you wanted to. You had no reason to break anything. If the Spy wanted you dead, then you would be dead and torture didn't seem to be on the table as well. Too nice of a place for that. Running a hand on the slight dust covering the counter, you purse your lips. This wouldn't do. You were above such conditions, so you went to cleaning.
Sure, it was nicer than any other place you have been locked in, but if they were trying to make it nice and they didn't go all the way? You have standards! Standards that would be met as you went to work, needing to keep busy as you waited.
Impatience was a weakness.
The longer you stay there, the more bored you got and anxious you became. Picking up a cookbook as you looked through various recipes and at the freshly stocked ingredients. Time passed and soon you had the Spy arrive. He explained everything. It wasn't intimidation or some threat that he used, just a calm voice. You jokingly said that you needed a vacation anyways, but you saw the turret outside the door when he came in. He acted like nothing was off.
You were well behaved, having been searched for all the gadgets you had on your person. There was nothing for you to use other than the stuff supplied, but it wasn't anything for you to escape with. It drove you slowly to the brink as you got cabin fever. You needed to get out of there. It was too much when things were stagnant. Nothing would happen, only Spy showed up to keep you company. Spy was your sole source to the outside world aside from books and newspapers. You were trapped.
Spy made it clear through… Subtle means that there would be consequences if you tried to leave. Both of you knew. It was irritatingly like chess. You broke though, willpower to keep staying here gone. Luxury or not, you needed to breathe. Every inch of the accessible areas in the apartment had been etched into your memory. You knew the locks on the windows, the little holes in places where you were probably not supposed to notice them.
You broke through the window. It was so easy and you feel a prick to the back of your neck though and your body crumpled down into the glasses and everything faded out of existence. Trapped.
You woke up in a much… The place was not nearly as nice, the position you were in… The binds dug into your wrists and a gag sat within your mouth. Trying to struggling you winced at the cuts on your arms from when you fell into the glass. Everything ached. You were laying on a bed, arms and legs akimbo as you feel the nakedness of your body.
He had it all planned, didn't he? You thought you were so smart, but your mother always warned you that someone would be smarter. Your pride made you doubt her. Now you were trapped in by this fucking Spy, alone and forgotten by the world it seemed. It was not what you wanted. You wanted to leave, escape.
The knife being sharpened by Spy as he sat in the corner gleamed in the low light. "Bonsoir, ma chere… I'm glad you're awake. You've been so good, but nothing can last. Hm?"
You groan while you shift a bit, you back too hot against the mattress. It was annoying. Trying to talk through the gag made drool form, but it wasn't anything intelligible. Weakness was sitting in you as you laid there. Soon, he was moving towards you, pulling off his jacket to put on a nearby coat hanger and came over.
"I think you know that I don't do intimidation. This knife isn't for scaring, I'm afraid that… You have a lesson to learn." He spoke, dragging the cold blade across your bare skin. It made you shiver, flesh covered with hard goosebumps. Your nipples pert with the chill of the room and fear. You were afraid after so long.
The knife pressed harder, making your whimper through the gag in your mouth. You were unable to get words out. It was rough. It was the knife digging in a little and blood was drawn. You had been cut before, had been tortured before. You have the scars as proof, but Spy didn't want information. He just wanted to prove a point to you, to make it known that he was in charge.
Hot crimson dripped from inside you as you stare with empty eyes. It was not fun. There was nothing left to do, but endure as he made cuts along you that let muffled cries fumble through the gag. It didn't hurt has bad as it could have though, the cuts shallow as he listed off offences. Some arbitrary and repetitive for your escape, some for not being wise enough to have just found something else to do, being stupid, hurting yourself and some were just him saying how long he was forced to wait for you.
Spy was patient usually, but now. Here you were bleeding as he sliced you up like deli ham, mouth moving down to lick some of the cuts and making you twitch. You had been naked in front of men before, you had killed men while bare. Lying beneath Spy had your eyes watering and breath hitching with each movement of him.
His blue eyes on you as he slowly shifted above you. A smile on his face with his mask still covering the top of it. Your own had been stolen long ago. Nothing to hide you, everything on display as he trailed a gloved finger along your knee. It made you shiver again as he slowly moved forward.
"You are quite irresistible in this state, bleeding and in tears… Aw, how delicate you must be." He mocked slightly, "Poor girl, poor girl. Maybe we should get you back to the kitchen. Warm milk and cookies for you and off to bed? It is so much easier for both of us if we are honest with one another."
"That is the thing you need in a relationship, honesty or that is what most people say. I would rather have passion." He murmured in your ear as the knife caressed your cheek. You feel that weakness still sit inside you, holding back violent sobs. The pain, humiliation, and the way he was making you want to pounce on him despite everything was driving you crazy. Maybe you enjoyed the way he made you hurt, maybe this shift was closer to what you were used to. You would rather be anywhere else.
Gripping your thigh now, Spy looked down on you as traced the knife along where your femoral artery would be. A dark chuckle escaping as he looked at your tightly closed eyes and mouth loosely holding around the gag. It was taking everything to remain still. A knife there was something you didn't want as you knew death would come fast if you were cut.
The knife was tossed aside as he gripped your face, slowly kissing along your jaw and working his hand down between your legs as he massaged the place where the knife had been held. It was a sudden shift, his hungry mouth on you as you whine under him. It hurt to be so needy, the touch was welcome as you took the lovely feeling until his fingers dug into one of the cuts.
A shriek came from behind the gag as you writhed slightly beneath him. He laughed against your skin pulled the bloody hand to wipe it around the gag, some getting in your mouth and on your tongue before. He hunched over your form as he quit hurting you purposefully, moving to slide his hand downward.
Spy's eyes burned into your flesh as he slowly rubbed at the bundle of nerves between your legs. You tried to remain stoic now as he toyed with you, teeth gritting on the plastic.
"I have been wondering for a while, although a bit selfishly. Did you stay so long out of strategy or just because you wanted to stay?" He quickened the pace on your clit, making you growl.
Everything was warmer as you took heavier breaths through your nose, ignoring the pleasure as he went to kiss your chest. Moving he teased and pulled on you, making a quiet moan slip. Thus began the full assault as he went up to pull the gag away. His hand speeding up in way that had your mouth forming a silent scream.
"I suppose that feels good then?" He quipped before pulling his hand away, making you look directly at him.
"Are kidding me? If you're going to do it, at least do it fully." You scoffed as your privates pulsed with need and your body felt cold without him touching it. Rolling your hips, you whined as you ground up against the bulge with his clean dress pants. A gruff noise escaped him as he frowned.
"I don't think you realize what a punishment is." He scoffed a bit.
"What do you want then? To teach me a lesson? Pay attention to me, make me want to stay with you. Nothing is exciting though! I liked it better when we were both out there." Eyes rolling a bit as you worked harder to drive him as crazy as you feel. Pent up, tired of waiting, looking for escape.
He moved his face down, lips against yours while his hand went to grab your hind end and kneading it in his hand. The way he was rubbing against you had you grunting into his mouth as you both put in the work. His hand went to unbuckle his pants, pulling them down before slipping a condom on. Both of you were panting unable to stop at this point as he slid into you. Groans came from both of you, you gasped and he placed his hands on the bed beside your head.
Two bodies panting and gasping as you bucked upwards into his thrusts as you cried out. It was hard to move with the way you were held down by the restraints, but your hips moved up against him. His own hips pumping in and out of you as you curled your hands into the sheets.
"A-ah! Fuck, you're so tight- Hmm, so needy for me…" He sighed into your ear, he was setting a growing pace as the sounds of your bodies echoed through the room. It was intense as skin smacked against skin, sweat beginning to burn the fresh cuts and even open some of them.
"Spy- Spy, spy, please, I can't- I'm so close, please!" You were whining in an almost pathetically high pitch way. He thrust faster as he feel you squeezing tightly on him, bucking into your clenching insides as he gasped. You were right on the edge.
Murmuring in your ear as he smiled, "Cum for me and prove that you're mine. No one else is going to ever make you feel this good." You twitched when he whispered huskily to you, breath hitching in your throat when you orgasmed.
His own pace stuttering as he cursed above you and soon slowed with more shallow thrusts, making you catch your breath when he stilled above you. His own release having hit him as he slowly pulled out laid beside you before lighting up a cigarette and lowering it down to you. Taking a drag, you blew out smoke and sighed. "Next time you want to get kinky, you could just ask."
"I think just throwing it on you like this is better, oui?" He chuckled as he took a drag himself and relaxed against the metal frame of the bed as you rested your head on him slightly.
"Hah, whatever you say. Spice is nice, but a little bit of vanilla would be nice." You muttered.
"Another minute and I can untie you for a round two. That can be as vanilla as you want." His hand stroking your hair.
"That would be more than appreciated. " The cuts, they still hurt as you lay there, looking up at him as he smoked. It seemed peaceful, but all of this was like chess. As soon as he let your arms free, you would probably grab the knife on the table by the bed and a power struggle would begin anew.
How would yandere mercs react to us trying to escape late at night?
Well not well that's for sure!
Yan!Mercenaries (TF2) × Reader hcs/ imagines
// Yandere themes, violence, fear play, yandere shit
Defense
Demo
You got out of Demo's bed, you had given him more alcohol than usual to keep him asleep. You looked over the heavily snoring figure beside you. The scot had his mouth wide open and a bottle of beer cluched in his palm. You leaned in and blew on his eye to make sure he was asleep, and there was no physical response from him. You then quickly slipped on your clothes and pulled out the small bag you've been hiding behind the nightstand, it was filled with money and other essentials like pepper spray, sunglasses, and a cloak.
You walked out of the room, taking one last look at the scot before tiptoing out of the house, avoiding scattered empty alcohol containers on the ground.
Just as you were about to leave, you heard a voice from behind you
"y/n? What are ye doing?"
He was drunk of course, but when wasn't he? It was like he was sober in his own way. Sober enough to recognize that guilty look on your face. His expression twisted into an angry snarl and he grabbed you by the wrist, dragging you down the stairs into the basement
"you'll stay here till you know how to listen"
He said trying to conceal his anger, but failing to do so
He could also just have a breakdown depending on the type of night it was and guilt you into staying
He will be a lot more strict on you
Heavy
You were looking to escape in the night but heavy lives in an eternal blizzard basically so... That's not a great idea
But lets say you've been preparing for awhile and got everything set up, a snow mobile, warm clothes, and a torch
But the moment you get to the shed, you find that your snow mobile is broken
Heavy then appears out of a corner of darkness with an upset expression
It's silent for a moment, until he speaks
"After all Heavy has done for you? Why?"
You felt guilt building up into your throat as you tried to search for an excuse. Unable to find one. He isn't a very restricting yandere, in fact, he's much tamer than most, he's given you basically all he has and to do this is like a slap in the face.
"Heavy will forgive you, if you just come back" he said while smiling
You were then gently pushed back out into the cold in the direction of his house, where you'd be staying once more
If he was in a bad mood, he'd be a little more rough
He also will place more restrictions on you but it's not like you'd notice considering it's not much
Engineer
You were about to leave in your car at night, when you tried turning it on, it wouldn't start. Engie then walks in front of your car and waves at you for you to come out, which after hesitating, you comply.
He walks over to you and hugs you, which confuses you. He tells you it's alright and that you don't have to go
"I'm sorry but, I want to leave" you stutter out
He panics internally and grips your shoulder, looking you in your eye
"do you know what could happen to you out there? Rapists! Murderers! The world ain't sugar n' honey, darlin"
"but-" you respond, suddenly cut off by him
"but you're safe here with me. I'll always protect you"
He hugs you once again, sucked into that warm embrace, you calm down and walk back with him
You were restricted from certain things from then on
Offense
Scout
You got into a fight with him earlier and in the middle of the night, you decided it was time to leave.
You packed a bag of clothes, some water, money, and other essentials
As you got your keys, you were met with a sleepy eyed scout who had bedhead
"Y/N....? The hell are ya doin?"
It takes a second for scout to process what's going on. You're grabbing your keys, you're fully dressed, and you had a suitcase with you
"Jeremy. I'm leaving*
You said sternly. You could see in his eyes that his heart shattered into a million pieces
"Wai- what no! No no no no! Please y/n you gotta stay please!"
He begged, grabbing onto your coat as you began to walk out. Tears formed on his face but you ignored it
"I can't put up with this anymore"
You said, voice cracking from the pain in your heart. Scout was sobbing now, he kneeled in front of you to stop you
"I'm so sorry I'm so sorry! I'll change I swear I'll become better! You want to go to eat out more? I got the money! I'll treat you nicely!"
You didn't believe a word he said, but with the way he was talking, it had to be true.
"Please I love you so much and it would kill me to lose you... Literally... You're my world to me, baby"
You bit your quivering lip as you looked down at him like he was a sad puppy. You sniffled and dropped your bags, huffing in defeat
".. I'm sorry. I'm just tired"
Scout was overjoyed to hear this. That night he clung to you
Scout didn't really become more strict, but he did become more loving to avoid that again.
Pyro
This one is scary, scarier than support classes even
You were almost out the door when they spotted you. They gave you an inquisitive look. You both shared a minute of uncomfortable silence before you bolted out the door. Pyro was unprepared for this, giving you some time to create distance between you two.
But Pyro was quick to get ready and they were out the door in no time with their flamethrower, ready to burn down acres of forests in order to catch you
You could hear pyro approaching, knowing that once you reach your car at the end of the base, you'll be safe and free.
While you were running, it seemed like their footsteps had been fading ever since they've gotten louder. Until you couldn't hear it anymore. You didn't pay any mind to this since your objective was just getting ti your car
When you arrived at the boarders of their territory when you stopped in your tracks
Pyro was leaning over their axe by the car, looking smug as ever. You looked towards your car and gasped.
Pyro had shredded the tires and broke open every window so you couldn't escape. You stood there as pyro approached you and swept you up in their arms, snuggling their mask into your neck the entire way home while you couldn't help but softly sob
Soldier
Soldier would lose his shit
He's already super strict, forces you to get up at 5 am every morning and run laps like you're in the military, makes you eat either MRE packets or home cooked food and you better hope it's an MRE pack because he cannot cook
So when he sees you at your car late at night, he screams at the top of his lungs enough to scare you into shock
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, MAGGOT? GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!"
I could see this going one of two ways, either complying or he has to chase you down (which he will)
If he has to chase you down, he won't be happy about it, and become even more strict than before (which I don't think is possible but it's soldier)
Support
Sniper
You... What?
How did you even get the idea that you could escape?
You live in his fucking van, you won't have a car other than his van
But lets say you saw the chance for escape, and tried to take it. You either got shut down the moment you got out of bed or you were lucky enough to get far away from the van
"get your bloody ass back to bed" is something he'd say if he shut you down the moment you stood up
But this man is a sniper, he can scope you out easily, and he won't hesitate to use a tranq on you
After that, you're back in the chains
Spy
Scary
Did you really think you could?
He knew you were gonna escape before you even escaped
He'd make very subtle remarks about it and remind you of what he could do
"Do you remember about the undercover mission in Spain back when I was working for the government that I told you about? When I was able to find the traitor using three clues. Even after all his records were erased"
Subtle shit like that to remind you who's in control
But lets say you didn't take the hint, and you decided to try and escape anyways
He'd catch you in the living room trying to escape, and send you back to bed
Or, you'd get lucky and be able to run away, meaning he'd be on a job
Trust me, he will find you within 48 hours, 24 if you aren't moving that much
He's very manipulative so he'd try to make you feel bad about it.
Much more strict afterwards
Medic
I have a feeling he'd already knowz but not to the extent that spy does
He notices your behavior, and how you're starting to become a bit more.. energetic?
Anyways, like spy, he'll warn you subtly
"You seem to always find yourself injured in any way. And like they say, a medic can track an injured person like a gps system, ja?"
If you decide to escape, he'll have some fun with you definitely. He'll late you run far enough to think that you're finally free, before he catches you and brings you back. He's sadistic.
He'll laugh at your face and degrade and humiliate you, making you regret ever trying
After that, he's much more strict, and demanding from you
Bonus cause I wanted to: Pauling
Pauling like spy, can track people very easily
I wouldn't even be surprised if she convinced medic to help put a tracker in you
Well, she'd be at work checking your location every hour. And the moment she finds out that you're not in the house but at a motel, she's pissed.
She has to quickly finish up work before taking her time to go catch you, and trust me, if Pauling takes time off work for something it's important
Once she finds you, she tells you to come out, trying to keep it civil. When you don't, she ends up busting through the door and taking you herself.
On the way home, she complains about how you worried her and made her miss some work like a parent going to pick up their sick kid from school
She eventually cools off after she gets you home, but she is definitely more strict
Gify was acting up so I couldn't download any more gifs 😭
Anyways feel free to request again!
